Wild and domestic ruminants become infected with Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) leads to chronic enteritis, known as Johne’s disease (JD). nA eight-year-old male wild goat (Capra aegagrus) that lived in the wildlife breeding center in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province with symptoms of prolonged diarrhea that did not respond to antibiotic treatment was referred to a veterinary center. After a while, the animal died. JD was diagnosed after laboratory diagnosis (by acid-fast staining). The present study reported the incidence of JD in a wild goat in Iran for the first time. The economic losses and animal health should be considered. Since 2020, the wild goat (Capra aegagrus) has been classified in the category Near Threatened (NT) near treated on the list (International Union for Conservation of Nature) IUCN. Rabies is a prevalent endemic and zoonotic fatal disease, which is normally transmitted to humans by contact (scratches and bites) from infected animals. The present paper deals with the first documented evidence of rabies in the stone marten (Martes foina). Rabies symptoms were observed in a marten in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. The animal with a strange demeanour approached people without fear, which was died after some while. Samples were taken from its brain (cerebellum, hippocampus, and hypothalamus), shortly after death. In this report, laboratory evidence of rabies by fluorescent antibody (FAT) was proved. The present work is valuable because of the environmental importance of the stone marten. Hence, sensitive surveillance and advanced reporting systems should be regularly monitored on suspected cases of rabies in animals and humans to control and prevent this deadly disease. Rabies, as an endemic fatal zoonotic disease, is transmitted from infected animals to humans commonly through contact (scratches and bites). The present paper provides the first documented evidence of rabies in the red fox (Vulpes vulpes). Signs of rabies disease were found in one red fox in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. The red fox had aggressive behavior and attacked humans. The animal died after a while. Soon after the death, the samples were taken from the fox's brain (hypothalamus, cerebellum, and hippocampus). In this report, laboratory evidences of rabies were confirmed by the fluorescent antibody (FAT) and RT-PCR tests in foxes. To prevent and control this deadly disease, suspected cases of rabies in humans and animals should be monitored regularly with a sensitive monitoring system and advanced reporting.
