"Corymbiform" is a term found in medical literature as early as 1876 to describe a central larger lesion with smaller surrounding lesions, leading to the appearance of an irregular border. While the term in current medical literature most often describes a possible morphology of secondary syphilis, the authors have noted this pattern presenting in other cutaneous conditions. We present a commentary on the corymbiform pattern in dermatology including a series of photographs of cutaneous disorders presenting in a corymbiform morphology in pediatric patients. While the term corymbiform is not commonly used in the present‐day dermatologic literature, increased recognition and use of this term may aid in the recognition of various dermatologic diagnoses presenting in a less common morphology and may also lend to increased fluidity of dermatologic descriptions in the literature. Focal dermal hypoplasia (FDH), or Goltz syndrome, is a rare genodermatosis affecting tissues of mesodermal and ectodermal origin. The characteristic skin changes have been reported to symptomatically flare in response to certain triggers as well as to progress over time in some cases. We present the case of a 5‐year‐old girl with cutaneous flaring and progression of FDH in the setting of septic shock. The article presents a case study of a nine-year-old Black boy with dark spots on the tongue to the dermatology clinic with the medical history for autism spectrum disorder and multiple food allergies. Topics include the patient's hyperpigmentation to the fungiform papillae that led to a diagnosis of pigmented fungiform papillae of the tongue (PFPT); symptoms such as recurrent epistaxis and visceral arteriovenous malformations; and diagnosis of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and others.

An 18‐year‐old Black female presented with a 2‐year history of bilateral upper eyelid swelling and the recent onset of multiple subcutaneous nodules on the arms. She had previously undergone evaluation and treatment for presumed angioedema. Biopsies of the eyelid and an arm nodule demonstrated non‐necrotizing granulomatous inflammation with special stains negative for acid‐fast bacilli and fungi, and the patient was diagnosed with subcutaneous sarcoidosis. The isolated finding of bilateral eyelid swelling 2 years prior to the onset of additional cutaneous findings led to a significant delay in diagnosis, highlighting the importance of considering sarcoidosis in the differential diagnosis for bilateral eyelid swelling. Acral pseudolymphomatous angiokeratoma of children (APACHE) and unilesional mycosis fungoides (MF) are two rare dermatoses in the pediatric population which may have overlapping clinical and histopathologic features, making differentiation between these two diagnoses difficult. We present two similar cases of a solitary plaque on the thigh of a child, one representing APACHE and the other representing unilesional MF with granulomatous features, and we provide a brief overview of the clinical and histopathologic features of APACHE and unilesional MF. The article presents a case study of a 5-year-old boy presented to the dermatology clinic for evaluation of a perianal rash. His rash failed treatment with various oral antibiotics, including clindamycin, cephalexin, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and associated with pain on palpation as well as occasional pruritus. His symptoms thereafter improved with daily polyethylene glycol therapy and evaluation by gastroenterology was notable for a mildly elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate.

Introduction: Visual field test is an invaluable tool to evaluate the detection and progression of glaucoma. On the other hand, as a subjective test, reliable results depend on patients' optimum performance including vigilance during the test. The purpose of this study was to understand patient's attitude and preferences about the visual field test taking, and in addition to assess the relationship between the reliability indices of visual field testing (VFT) and the Walter Reed Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT). Material and methods: In this cross-sectional, non-interventional study, VFT reliability indices were recorded for all 140 patients. In the 46 patients who completed the PVT, average reaction time and minimum reaction times were recorded. All 140 patients completed a survey about their VFT experience. Results: Based on the survey results, most subjects found VFT to be difficult. Subjects who rated their VFT performance excellent/good had similar VFT reliability rates compared to the ones with fair/poor self-assessments. The average reaction time (RT) was 0.6 seconds (0.3-1.9 seconds). Higher average RT was associated with increased age and less formal education ( p < 0.001 and 0.03, respectively). There was a marginally significant correlation between average RT and the VFT 'reliability' status ( p = 0.045). Conclusions: While VFT is the least favorable part of the work-up for glaucoma patients, their self-assessment about VFT performance did not correlate with current VF reliability indicators. Although reliability of the VFT was not strongly affected by slower reaction times when tested by the PVT, the effect of psychomotor reaction time on other aspects of test outcomes is unknown and warrants further investigation.
