Mithilfe einer zweistufigen Analyse wurden außerschulische Lernorte erfasst, die deutliche Bezüge zum Konzept einer Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) aufweisen. Dabei wurden selbst entwickelte BNE-Kriterien als methodisches Instrument in Form einer BNE Checkliste für außerschulische Lernorte operationalisiert. Die auf diesem Wege gewonnenen Daten liefern eine Grundlage für die Erstellung einer Datenbank von außerschulischen Lernorten mit BNE-Bezug. Eine Visualisierung der Daten zeigt folgendes räumliches Verteilungsmuster: Neben Landkreisen und kreisfreien Städten mit einer Vielzahl an BNE-Lernorten koexistieren Regionen mit Defiziten. Des Weiteren zeigt sich eine Häufung von BNE-Lernorten in stadt- und waldnahen Gebieten., With the help of a two-stage analysis, out-of-school places of learning were recorded that show clear references to the concept of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Den vielen außerschulischen Lernorten an der norddeut-schen Wattenmeerküste mangelt es in ihren Bildungsangeboten an Erklärungen und Modellen, die sich eignen, um auch die dortige physikalische Dynamik in Form von Strömungs- und Strukturbildungsphänomenen zu erklären. Die Lernort-leitenden berichten, dass Besuchende Fragen zu entsprechenden Phänomenen stellen, die weder von ihnen noch den Bildungsangeboten beantwortet werden können. Die vorliegende Studie widmet sich diesem Defizit. Sie ist in einem übergeordneten Projekt angesiedelt, das von der Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt gefördert wird. Das übergeordnete DBU-Projekt zielt darauf ab, Exponate für außerschulische Lernorte zu entwickeln, die auch die physikalische Sicht auf die Dynamik an der Küste repräsentieren. Die vorliegende Studie leistet zu diesem übergeordneten Projekt insofern einen Beitrag, als eine Didaktische Rekonstruktion der physikalischen Dynamik an der Küste durchgeführt wurde, die darauf abzielte, Leitlinien für eine didaktische Strukturierung zu entwickeln. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, wurde im Rahmen der Didaktischen Rekonstruktion zunächst fachliche Klärung betrieben, indem die zentralen physikalischen Grundideen des Themenfelds herausgearbeitet wurden. Im zweiten Schritt wurden Lernendenperspektiven auf Strömungen und Strukturbildungen mit einer Interviewstudie erfasst. Dabei wurde zum einen beforscht, welche Merkmale Lernende mit den beiden Termini „Strömung“ und „Strukturbildung“ assoziieren. Zum anderen wurde untersucht, wie Lernende die Entstehung von Strömungen und Strukturbildungen erklären. Im dritten Schritt wurden die physikalischen Grundideen mit den untersuchten Lernendenperspektiven verglichen. Auf Basis dieses Vergleichs wurden Leitlinien für eine didaktische Strukturierung zur physikalischen Dynamik an der Küste erarbeitet. The present study contributes to this overarching project insofar as an educational reconstruction of the physical dynamics of the coast was carried out, which aimed to formulate educational guidelines. In the first step of the Model of Educational Reconstruction, the concept of elementarization was used to analyze the subject matter structure of coastal dynamics by elucidating the basic scientific ideas in the subject area. These include processes of equalization and self-organization that explain currents and structure formations in granular matter. In the second step, the learners’ conceptions of currents and structure formations on the coast were examined with an interview study. On the one hand, it was investigated what the terms “current” and “structure formation” mean from the learners’ viewpoint. On the other hand, it was examined which physical concepts are used by the learners to explain both phenomena. In the third and final step, the basic physical principles were being compared with the learners’ perspectives. Based on this comparison, educational guidelines were formulated. In the overarching DBU project, these guidelines serve to support cooperation between science education researchers, operators of the extracurricular learning venues, and the exhibition design agencies to develop new exhibits.
