Aims: Accurate prediction of changes in hemoglobin (Hb) levels, an indicator of blood loss, in cesarean deliveries is critical for reducing maternal morbidity and mortality. This study evaluated the potential relationship between the preoperative delta neutrophil index (DNI), an inflammatory marker, and changes in Hb levels after cesarean section. Methods: Women with a history of a single cesarean section and who underwent a second cesarean section for delivery between 2018 and 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The difference between the preoperative and postoperative 6th-hour and 24th-hour Hb levels was defined as the delta Hb 1 (ΔHb1) level and delta Hb 2 (Hb2) level, respectively. The primary outcome was the relationship between preoperative DNI with ΔHb1 level and Hb2 level. We also investigated the relationships of the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) with DNI and changes in Hb levels. Results: The study included 368 women with a mean age of 28 (19 to 45) years. The mean DNI was -0.82±5.62, NLR was 4.31±2.16, and PLR was 141.89±55.22. A positive correlation was found between DNI and ΔHb1 level (r=0.624, p<0.05) and ΔHb2 level (r=0.372, p=0.05). No significant correlation was found between PLR and NLR. Conclusions: Among women who underwent cesarean section, preoperative DNI showed a positive relationship with changes in postoperative Hb levels. Purpose: In this study, the frequency of presentation of nulliparous and multiparous women to prenatal visit during their term period and the importance of educational level in the frequency of presentation were compared. Materials and Methods: 341 patients giving birth with cesarean section or/and spontaneous vaginal delivery in Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Gynecology and Obstetrics department between December 2015 – May 2016, were included in the study. 205 of them were nulliparous while the rest was multiparous. Results: When the number of term period visits of nulliparous and multiparous women were compared, a significant difference between two groups was determined. This significance was detected as in support of nulliparous women. When the number of term period visits were compared with according to the educational level was not statistically significant for women, while it was detected that the frequency of paternal visits with high school degree was significant. Conclusion: Increasing the educational level of society, raising the awareness of parents in terms of the importance of prenatal visit and its frequency will increase the effectiveness of prenatal care. Purpose: To identify peri-operative clinical outcomes of transobturator tape procedure and also to analyze the effectiveness of this procedure. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study, 47 women with stress urinary incontinence underwent transobturator tape procedure at Gulhane Education and Research Hospital. Patients' groups were compared in terms of their peri-operative outcomes (duration, changes of hematocrit (HTC) levels, post-operative complications, residual urine volume changes, hospital stay). Results: Out of 47 patients underwent transobturator tape procedure, 46 (97.9%) mid-urethral slings were successful and the rest one (2.1%) had persistence of stress urinary incontinence after the procedure. In two patients out of 47, pre-operative residual urine volume was 60 ml and the others' residual urine volume was <50 ml; post-operative residual urine volume was <50 ml in all of the patients at the sixth post-operative week. There was a significant statistically difference between pre-operative and post-operative residual urine volumes. There was no complication in our study. Conclusion: Transobturator tape seems to be a feasible surgical procedure with good relief symptoms and lower intra/post-operative complications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the amount of N-acetyl-β-D-ghicosaminidase (NAG) in the 24 h urine output of patients with normotensive pregnancies (control) group with mild preeclampsia (study) group and to detect the presence of renal tubular injury in mild preeclampsia patients. Material and Methods: The study was conducted among 13 patients study group and 15 patients control group. The 24 h urine output and protein, glomerular filtration rate, systolic and diastolic arterial pressures, serum creatinine, and 24 h urine NAG values of the pregnants were calculated. Results: Statistical difference was not detected among gestational week, 24 h urine volume (mL), serum creatinine (mg/dL), and glomerular filtration rates of the control and the study groups. The differences of the 24 h urine protein (U/I), systolic and diastolic arterial blood pressures (mmHg), and 24 h urine NAG between groups were statistically significant. A significant correlation was found between the NAG values and 24 h urine protein. Conclusion: This study shows that; evaluating the impact of protein assessment along with NAG, which indicates both glomerular and tubular injuries, is important, and that renal tubular injury occurs in patients with mild preeclampsia but it did not cause any changes of serum creatinine. Impetigo herpetiformis ( IH) is a very rare type of dermatosis seen in pregnancy. According to the published work, IH during pregnancy is associated with the risk of stillbirth, and obstetric management in such cases is very important. Early recognition is important to reduce both maternal and fetal morbidity. Paraovarian cysts are usually benign-nature lesions that develop from paramesonephric or mesonephric ducts'remnants and are commonly seen at 4th or 5th decades of life. Paraovarian cysts that are seen in adolescent period, have higher potential to be congenital. Gartner cyst is one of them. Together with gartner cysts, metanephric urinary system abnormalities can be observed. Especially, ectopic ureter, ureter duplication or ectopic kidney abnormalities can be seen. That is why, in pre-operative stage, relations of the cyst with other adjacent organs and other additional organ abnormalities which can accompany with, should be evaluated. Also during the operation, in these cases of potential abnormal ureter traces, cyst should be excised by dissecting carefully. In this case, the management of paraovarian cyst which is observed in 20-year- old, nulligravid lady who had applied to emergency service with complaints of vomiting-nausea, eating disorder, as well as abdominal tenderness, was mentioned.
