As a tropical country, Indonesia continues to grapple with the prevalence of tuberculosis. This study conducted by the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, presented a novel approach to prevent tuberculosis through measures tailored to the socio-cultural context of the population. Specifically, this study assessed how effective the use of tuberculosis comics is as an educational tool to inform junior high school students about tuberculosis. This research was quasi-experimental, with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. Seventy junior high school students in Dukun District, Gresik, Indonesia participated in this study. Each participant received a questionnaire consisting of ten questions about tuberculosis. Afterward, tuberculosis education was shared through comics. The post-test was carried out using the same questions as the pre-test. The data were analyzed using the R Program for Windows, version 4.1.3 (Auckland University, New Zealand). The analysis revealed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results (p < 0.0001). As indicated by the data, comics proved to be an effective method of educating people about infectious diseases, specifically tuberculosis. Here, we introduce an educational tool designed to revitalize the educational method for disseminating knowledge about infectious diseases. Terna plants are used by Indonesians as raw materials for herbal and traditional medicine, including Phyllantus niruri L. and Phyllantus urinaria L. Therefore, this study aimed to explore, analyze and compile the activities and potential of Phyllantus niruri L. and Phyllantus urinaria L. as agents of hepatitis B virus (HBV) inhibitors using a narrative review approach. It was conducted based on the Scale for the Assessment of Narrative Review Articles (SANRA) by establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study selected and reviewed 15 out of 38 articles. The Phyllantus genus is a group of seasonal herbs containing bioactive compounds and activity as HBV Inhibitors. In this study, 23 compounds were identified in the two species, including Nirtetralin, Phyllanthin, Niranthin, Hinokinin, Ellagic acid, Ethanol, Phyllanthosterol, Ethyl brevifolincarboxylate, Tenofovir, Quercetin, Quercitrin, Astragalin, Repanducinic acid, Corilagin, Gallic acid, Aloe-emodin-8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, Catechin, D-glucopyranoside, Ethyl gallate, Protocatequatic acid, Chebulanin, Albibrissinoside B, and (-)-Epicatechin. Meanwhile, the activity in inhibiting cells infected with HBV was reported in vitro, in vivo, ex vivo, and in silico. The mechanism of bioactive compounds as HBV inhibitors focuses on suppression, blocking, and inhibiting the synthesis, secretion, and expression of HBsAg, HBcAg, and HbeAg in test media. The results showed that Meniran red and green bioactive compounds have the potential to be developed as raw materials as herbal medicine with promising prospects as commercial drug candidates. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has been endemic in Indonesia for decades. Insecticides are necessary to manage the transmission of the dengue virus. However, prolonged use of insecticides can lead to insecticide resistance. This study aimed to examine the genotype of mosquitoes using the allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (ASPCR) method. The ASPCR method was chosen for genotype detection due to its high sensitivity, affordability, and ease of design. Five mosquitoes were collected from human habitation in four different areas of Surabaya, Indonesia, namely Kranggan, Ulul Azmi Mosque, Ploso, and Kalijudan. Among them, three samples were identified as Aedes albopictus (A1, A2, and A5) and two samples were identified as Aedes aegypti (A3 and A4). The frequency of resistant alleles was analyzed using the Hardy-Weinberg package in RStudio version 2023.03.1. This study revealed that two mosquitoes carried homozygous mutant alleles with a band of 113 bp and three mosquitoes carried homozygous wild-type alleles with a band of 93 bp. Cysteine-to-cysteine (C/C) mutations and phenylalanine-to-phenylalanine (F/F) mutations at codon 1534 were observed in Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The homozygous mutant alleles were found in Kranggan, Surabaya, Indonesia. Further research is required to assess insecticide resistance and knockdown resistance (kdr)-like mutation by collecting more representative samples from larger areas within the region of Surabaya. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an interesting study to be explored by technological developments. Especially with the Covid-19 pandemic, construction actors are encouraged to work according to the applicable protocol. BIM as integrated tool for managing projects from the beginning to the end of the work. On one side the classic problems of construction projects are high costs, late time, and quality that is not according to specifications. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the use of BIM in construction projects on time and cost. A case study was carried out on a construction project that had implemented BIM. The results showed the use of BIM could cut time by 50% faster and reduce costs by 52.36%. This time and cost-effectiveness are caused by the number of workers needed and the reduced duration so that it has an impact on fundin.

Ethidium bromide (EtBr) is a chemical agent commonly used to identify and visualize the bonding of DNA and RNA in molecular biology research. However, ethidium bromide itself is mutagenic and toxic. Ethidium bromide also has carcinogenic properties to human cells, teratogenic, and difficult to decompose. Therefore, a research for the treatment of EtBr waste is very important. There are several materials that can be used to reduce EtBr waste, but there is also needed a material which is cheap and widely available in the market. One of the methods to treat ethidium bromide waste is using activated charcoal. Activated charcoal has strong adsorption capacity due to its high surface area and porous structure. Another advantage of activated charcoal as an adsorbent is economical, effective, and environmentally friendly. In this study, EtBr waste was mixed with activated charcoal then homogenized for one hour. The mixing of EtBr waste (0.5 mg/mL concentration of EtBr) and activated charcoal was varied with a ratios weight by volume of 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. The mixture of the solution was filtered using Whatmann filter paper No.1 to take the filtrate. The filtrate was further analyzed. The more activated charcoal was added, the more EtBr molecules were adsorbed. The pH in the filtration results for each variation was pH 7.0 - 8.0, dissolved oxygen with range 5.0 - 9.0 mg/L, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) with range 25.06 - 78.2 mg/L, and chemical oxygen demand (COD) with range 302.56 - 310.98 mg/L. The concentration range was obtained as follows, for a 1:1 ratio of 0.045 - 0.060 mg/mL, for a 1:2 ratio of 0.028 - 0.032 mg/mL, while a 2:1 ratio of 0.081 - 0.090 mg/mL. In addition, the results showed that activated charcoal was able to bind Ethidium bromide due to bond interactions that occur between the EtBr molecule and activated charcoal. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) is a construction model that integrated the work between engineering, procurement, and construction. The EPC project is usually applied in petroleum work. One of the important aspects of success key in this project is the supply chain management (SCM). The high level of complexity of work as well as the integration of the construction phase needs to be mapped how the supply chain in this project. This paper used Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method to explain the procurement processes for easier understanding and problem identification. It is illustrated in the procurement process behaviour within a specific period from the total production time. This paper describes a case study performed on EPC 1 Banyu Urip Project. VSM presented real-time data to deliver the processes, material, and any other constraint relevant to the procurement process on EPC projects. Based on a case study on pipe material, the procurement process from upstream to downstream took 21 weeks. It was a waste of time to look for solutions. The recommended solutions use the local vendors, involve suppliers early and provide input into engineering designs, and good communication between supply chain participants.

Introduction: Performance of nutritional programs in Public Health Center is the important component to evaluate for the better performance of health service. Methods: This study aims to evaluate performance of nutritional programs in Mulyorejo PHC in 2018. Evaluating process were used secondary data that provided by nutrition unit in this PHC. Descriptive study was conducted from November to December 2019. Data were interpreted as two groups; those are nutritional problem indicators and nutritional program performance indicators. Results: The main findings of this research are some of nutritional program performance indicators in Mulyorejo PHC still become problem of public health due to below the cut off value fixed by Ministry of Health, such as scope of under-five yars age with exclusive breastfeeding (79.3%), six-month age with complete exclusive breastfeeding (79.3%), supplementation in pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (21,2%), under-five years ago that already have health control card or ofted called as Kartu Menuju Sehat (75%), under-five years ago that gain weighed (68.5%), and vitamin A supplementation in post-partum women (67%). Conclusion: Mulyorejo PHC still need to improve and gain the scope of some nutritional program that still become problem of public health. Regularly evaluation can gain and improved program achievement, this should be conduct in every PHC owing to the different geographical area, number of populations, number of human resources, and another different setting.
