The aim of this study is to address the challenges facing the Dagho Beach Fishing Port Area in North Sulawesi, which plays a pivotal role in the region's fisheries sector but suffers from inefficiencies in development systems, markets, distribution, and infrastructure. This dependence on natural resources has eroded community independence, exacerbated by issues such as illegal fisheries transactions, price disparities, and the absence of processing industries. Additionally, limited accessibility for exports and regulatory hurdles impede the area's potential, with only a small fraction of the population engaged in fishing activities. To tackle these issues, the study employs a comprehensive four-stage analysis approach. Firstly, Descriptive Analysis delineates the economic, political, social, and environmental characteristics of the area. Secondly, Analytical Hierarchy Processes (AHP) identify the most influential indicators for focused development efforts. Thirdly, a combination of Scalogram and Weighted Sum methods determines suitable minapolitan zones. Finally, Descriptive Direction offers development guidelines based on previous analyses. The research yields actionable directions, including the establishment of a modern market, enhancing fishery product marketing through the "Marketing Mix" and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) implementation. It advocates for technology-based processing units and integrated infrastructure, alongside policy development to support the fisheries industry and promote sustainable practices. The study emphasizes the importance of infrastructure development, economic collaboration, and community empowerment initiatives to foster local fishery development, cultivation, and business capital. In order to develop a method that apply sampling survey data randomly obtained at fishing ports to fish stock assessments, based on fish landing surveys conducted at fishing ports in the northern South China Sea (SCS), 19 Threadfin porgy (Evynnis cardinalis) catch per unit effort (CPUE) datasets were collected for fishing vessels with different gear types and engine powers and incorporated into surplus production models. Considering only the fitting performance, the Schaefer model had the best overall goodness of fit, followed by the Fox, CYP, W-H, and Schnute models. Among fishing vessels with different gears and engine powers, the data were best fitted for single-trawl vessels powered by 301-400-kW engines and for gillnet vessels powered by > 200-kW engines. Eight model expressions were superior and selected for subsequent analyses based on their goodness of fit and relative residuals. The Kobe plot analysis results showed an optimistic fish stock status when using the four model expressions, required more caution when using three model expressions and output pessimistic estimations using one model expression. Considering the incomplete information acquired, a compromising decision-making method was used to derive a 2017 northern SCS E. cardinalis total allowed catch (TAC) of 44,691.21 t. The different conclusions drawn from estimations using CPUEs reflect variable exploitation and utilization fish stock statuses among fishing vessels with different gears and engine powers. Hence, the fishing operations were grouped according to their CPUE relationship, and recommendations regarding optimum fishing efforts were assigned to the groups following a fundamental principle: to improve fishery TAC management, fishing efforts should be reduced if the fish stock assessment is pessimistic and maintained if the assessment is optimistic. Introduction: Heavy metal pollution has become an important environmental issue today. This study was aimed to identify the heavy metals of the two fishing products namely demersal fish and cephalopods landed at Benoa Port, Bali Province and their health risk effects on consumers. Methods: Demersal fish and cephalopod products were obtained from local fishermen at Benoa port. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) was used to specify the (Pb, Cd, and Hg) in 34 fish fillet products weighing an average of 500 grams each. Statistical software was used to conduct an analysis of the collected data, while THQ, TTHQ, and TCR were calculated and compared with USEPA regulations. Results and Discussion: The results of this research showed that the content of heavy metals in demersal fish and cephalopod products was lower than the levels suggested by official agencies in a number of countries. In populations of various ages, the target Hazard Quotient (THQ) for the heavy metal was less than 1. At this point, the Total THQ result did not imply any risk to human health from ingestion of these two fishery products. When these two products were ingested, the target cancer risk (TCR) did not represent a cancer risk. Conclusion: The outcomes of this study showed that the bioaccumulation levels of both fishery products with low levels of heavy metals are safe for human consumption.

Stock assessment is one of the efforts to see the impact and influence of fishing activities on fish stocks and populations. One of the fishery resources that has important economic value in Indonesia is Bali sardinella fisheries. The high production of Bali sardinella fisheries at the Pengambengan Nusantara Fishing Port (NFP) encourages an increase in intensity and catch effort, so it is feared that overexploitation may occur. This study uses primary data and secondary data from Pengambengan NFP, to analyze the level of effort, catch, and economic rent of Bali sardinella fisheries under MSY, MEY, and OA conditions. The result of the linear equation CPUE = -0.00008f + 3.1053, if the capture effort is increased it will reduce the CPUE value, and vice versa. The regression results of the Schaefer Model obtained EMSY results of 4,691 trips per year, MSY of 17,639 tons per year, and TAC of 14,111 tons per year. The results of the bioeconomic model prediction obtained EMEY and MEY values, namely 4,554 trips per year and 17,624 tons per year. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

UPT Coastal Fishing Port located in Pasongsongan Village, Pasongsongan District. The implementation of the strategy used to provide fishermen facilities and infrastructure with the aim of increasing fishermen's catches, based on research I conducted at the UPT Coastal Fishing Port, the obstacles that are still experienced when counseling fishermen are not all elements join in socialization activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the Upt Strategy of Coastal Fishing Ports in Increasing Fishermen's Catches in Pasongsongan Village, Pasongsongan Regency. This research was carried out at the UPT Coastal Fishing Port, Pasongsongan Village, Pasongsongan District. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods, the data collection techniques used are observation techniques, interview techniques, documentation techniques The results of this study show that the strategic policies used by the UPT Coastal Fishing Port provide facilities for fishermen to continue to produce good fish catches. North Aceh is one of the districts that has great potential in the maritime and fisheries sector, because part of the North Aceh region is a supplier of captured fisheries products. The problem with this research is that there is no model of a clustering system for captured fisheries products in North Aceh District, so it will be difficult to determine which areas produce superior and non-superior types of fish. This research aims to classify captured fishery results for the 2021- 2022 period using the K-Means algorithm with a Data Mining approach to determine superior and non-superior fish types. Therefore, this research can help a little in providing information about the types of fish that are superior and not superior or the types of fish that are most numerous and the types of fish that appear the least at fishing ports in North Aceh District. The stages carried out in this research started from compiling research instruments and literature review, data collection and analysis, designing a clustering system model and implementing the system. This research produces 2 clusters, namely cluster 1 is superior fish and cluster 2 is non-superior fish. This study aimed to analyze the risks of activities in fishing ports in the province of Hatay. Due to these activities, the fishing port is under health, good, labor, and environmental risks. In this study, risks were identified and evaluated at the four fishing ports. For this purpose; (1) A preliminary survey was conducted with stakeholders on the current situation and the functions of the fishing ports (2) brainstorm meetings were organized in three sessions in one day-three sections with 12 invited participants throughout the year 2016, (3) as a result of these meetings, risk assessments were carried out in terms of the risks identified, loss of health, good, labor, and environment for each fishing port. The risk matrices were presented graphically in terms of the risk effect and the frequency value, and risk tables were created for each risk. Approximately 20 (17-22) risks were identified for each fishing port. The risks identified for the fishing port were found similar these were different impact levels and frequency values. These differences were generally related to the location. The differences in the settlement structure of the fishing port caused advantages and disadvantages to risks of the fishing port risk. When risks were grouped and classified as administrative, structural, pollution, and security, the lack of management and supervision was striking. Risk analysis outputs were evaluated by using the "L type matrix" method with issuing by numerical and statistical comparisons for different fishing ports. The reason for the risks was due to incompatible legal regulations and control mechanisms rather than a benefit for fishing ports than regional and personal shortfalls with the current situation and expected. Finally, these assessments were the result of a regional study, but they were important both nationally and internationally fishing port risk lack of management. In this study, the occurrence and morphology of microplastics in a small fishing port in the Black Sea were determined by bulk sampling and visually analyzed by a stereo microscope. Three sampling campaigns were carried out, two of which were after the opening of the legal fishing season. The average abundance of the microplastics was found to be 3417+1401 items/m3. The determined microplastic concentration was 1.43 times higher on the day of the most intense fishing activities. No statistically significant differences were observed for the different sampling locations (coast, middle, and seaside). The most frequent microplastic colors observed were blue, followed by black, green, red, white and grey, while fibers represented the dominant shape. The prevalent size of microplastics was <50 µm which makes it easy to ingest by even the smaller fishes and introduce into the food chain as well. However the NP value which shows the bioavailability of microplastic was calculated as 0.72 indicating a low bioavailability (≤2). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The biological aspects size, weight, and reproductive indicators of the Panama brief squid were analyzed. A total of 2,354 individuals caught during 7 exploratory fishing cruises and 5 sampling events in bays in the Gulf of California from 2014 to 2017 were studied. The individuals were grouped by system: coastal fronts (fishing cruises for Jumbo squid, Shrimp, Hake, and Small pelagics) and coastal lagoons (Agiabampo, Yavaros, Tóbari, Lobos, and Las Guásimas Bays). In the coastal fronts 1,687 individuals were sampled (44.2% females, 25.7% males, and 30.1% unsexed), and in the coastal lagoons 667 individuals (59.7% females, 36.7% males, and 3.6% unsexed), with females being the most abundant in both ecosystems. Females were most abundant in sizes >60 mm mantle length (ML), while males were most abundant in sizes <60 mm ML. Negative allometric growth was evidenced for both sexes (b = 2.59). Mean size at first maturity (LM50) showed that females matured at larger sizes than males, and the frequency of gonad development stages by system showed that the immature stages were the most frequent in both sexes. The sex ratio was 1.7F:1.0M. According to our results, the Panama brief squid inhabits both systems, the coastal fronts and the lagoons, with mature males using coastal lagoons to pass sperm packets to immature females during mating and females then moving to coastal fronts to mature and spawn. Sharks are marine animals that play an important role in marine ecosystems especially as the main predator, thus controlling the dynamics of populations of other organisms at lower trophic levels. Sharks are often caught as a byproduct of capture fisheries in Indonesia, making Indonesia one of the five largest shark contributing countries in the world according to the FAO. A study of shark populations needs to be done to evaluate its stock in nature. The Mayangan Coastal Fishery Port, Probolinggo is one of the largest fishing ports in East Java with the majority of fishing gear used being cantrang. This study will discuss the shark bycatch volume in fishing activities using cantrang fishing gear at PPP Mayangan, Probolinggo. The use of cantrang fishing gear in Mayangan Port Probolinggo has produced around 6242.9 kg of shark production each year for the past 10 years. The highest production was found in 2011 which reached 10980 kg while the lowest was in 2019 with a total production of 412 kg. The pattern of the development of shark catches at PPP Mayangan Probolinggo showed a decrease in the number of catches, indicating the enforcement of law regarding cantrang usage has been well adapted. Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis (Linnaeus, 1758)) is one of the main commodities of Palabuhanratu capture fisheries with a percentage of 14% or 422.701 kg of total capture fisheries production in 2017. The purpose of this research is to analyze the correlation between length and mouth opening of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus Pelamis) in the waters of Palabuhanratu Sukabumi Regency. The sample was collected in June until August 2019 at the Palabuhanratu Fishing Port, Sukabumi Regency. Skipjack tuna observed during the research had a total length range from 250 until 730 mm FL. The pattern of length and opening mouth relationships of skipjack tuna can be seen from the regression and correlation values. The results obtained were collected combined Y = 0.8064x 0.2283 and R2 = 0.7786. Correlation value of the length and mouth opening relationship of skipjack tuna was 0.88. From the 1870s until roughly the outbreak of the First World War, cargoes of Norwegian ice were shipped to numerous French ports. The ice was crucial for the smooth operation of many industries, especially those in the alimentation sector. The Northern French port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with its thriving fishing industry, became one of the main entry points for imported Norwegian natural ice blocks. This Research Note is based on the holdings of Boulogne Municipal Archives and the Departmental Archives of the Pas de Calais region. It highlights the significant role that Norwegian ice imports could play in a port whose economy was largely based on the fisheries. It further reveals how concerns about the hygienic quality of natural ice dictated a series of regulations aimed at safeguarding public health in nineteenth-century France, and how these measures were introduced and tackled in Boulogne-sur-Mer. With a regulatory framework that strictly controlled inflows of Norwegian ice into French ports, a few Boulonnaise hygiene officials had to step in to protect the interests of the local fishing industry.
