Abstract Density wave (DW) order is believed to be correlated with superconductivity in the recently discovered high-temperature superconductor La3Ni2O7. However, experimental investigations of its evolution under high pressure are still lacking. Here, we explore the quasiparticle dynamics in bilayer nickelate La3Ni2O7 single crystals using ultrafast optical pump-probe spectroscopy under high pressures up to 34.2 GPa. At ambient pressure, the temperature-dependent relaxation dynamics demonstrate a phonon bottleneck effect due to the opening of an energy gap around 151 K. The energy scale of the DW-like gap is determined to be 66 meV by the Rothwarf-Taylor model. Combined with recent experiential results, we propose that this DW-like transition at ambient pressure and low temperature is spin density wave (SDW). With increasing pressure, this SDW order is significantly suppressed up to 13.3 GPa before it completely disappears around 26 GPa. Remarkably, at pressures above 29.4 GPa, we observe the emergence of another DW-like order with a transition temperature of approximately 135 K, which is probably related to the predicted charge density wave (CDW) order. Our study provides the experimental evidences of the evolution of the DW-like gap under high pressure, offering critical insights into the correlation between DW order and superconductivity in La3Ni2O7.

Abstract Recently, tremendous research interest has been aroused in clathrate superhydrides. However, their microscopic properties, especially the superconducting (SC) gap and electron-phonon coupling (EPC) strength, are largely unexplored experimentally. Here, we investigate the time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy of a superconductor LaH10±δ under an ultrahigh pressure of 165 GPa. By analyzing the ultrafast dynamics of the quasiparticles, we experimentally obtain the SC gap Δ(0) = 53 ± 5 meV, revealing a gap ratio 2Δ(0)/k B T c = 5.6 and a gap parameter ϑ = 1.95. Significantly, we experimentally estimate $$\lambda \langle {\Omega }^{2}\rangle$$ λ ⟨ Ω 2 ⟩ = (2.4 ± 0.1) × 104 (meV)2, which corresponds to an EPC strength λ = 2.58 ± 0.11. These results together provide direct experimental evidence that strong EPC is responsible for the near-room-temperature superconductivity in clathrate superhydrides. Our investigation significantly advances the experimental exploration of superhydrides, and contributes to the ultrafast dynamics investigations of quantum materials under high pressures.

Purpose The objective of this study was to assess the accuracy of FreeStyle Libre Pro (FSL-Pro) flash continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods A single-arm, single-center prospective study was conducted in the cardiac care unit from January 2021 to September 2023. Patients underwent finger-prick blood glucose (FPBG) testing before breakfast (6:00 am) and after meals (at 9:00, 13:00, 19:00 pm), along with CGM during their hospitalization. Statistical analyses included mean differences (MDs), mean absolute relative difference (MARDs) of blood glucose levels, and hypoglycemia occurrences. A Bland–Altman plot analysis and Pearson correlation were performed. Results Ninety-seven T2DM and AMI patients underwent CGM for up to 72 h (1142 monitoring point). Mean daily BG, Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and mean postprandial plasma glucose (PPG) were significantly lower by CGM than by FPBG with an estimated MD of −0.89 mmol/L in BG, −0.88 mmol/L in FPG, and −0.90 mmol/L in PPG, respectively. The maximum effect was mainly in the first day and then the difference was gradually declined (falling range, Day1, −1.24; Day 2, −0.70; Day 3, −0.68, mmol/L, respectively). The incidence rates of hypoglycemia and potential hypoglycemia was 1.57% and 8.5% higher, respectively, in CGM than in FBPG. * Context.--Unicentric Castleman disease (UCD) is a dynamic entity with a wide spectrum of morphologic findings. UCD can be further subdivided into hyaline-vascular and mixed/plasmacytic variants. Hyaline-vascular UCD has both follicular and interfollicular (stromal) changes, and occasionally these lesions show a skewed representation of either the follicular or stromal compartments. Plasmacytosis is usually minimal in the hyaline-vascular variant. The mixed/plasmacytic variant of UCD is composed of sheets of plasma cells often associated with a variable number of follicles with regressive changes. Objective.--To illustrate the differential diagnosis of UCD, as it is quite broad and includes lymphomas, plasma cell neoplasms, stromal neoplasms such as follicular dendritic cell sarcoma and vascular neoplasms, immunoglobulin G4-related disease, infections, and other rare lesions. An additional objective is to enhance awareness of the morphologic features of UCD in excisional and in small core-needle biopsy specimens, the latter of which may inadvertently target follicle- or stroma-rich areas, causing diagnostic challenges. Data Sources.--In this review, we provide readers a concise illustration of the morphologic spectrum of UCD that we have encountered in our practice and a brief discussion of entities in the differential diagnosis. Background: No single risk factor is decisive in shaping an individual's healthy development. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between depressive symptoms and a cumulative risk index comprising individual, family, and social variables among nursing students. Methods: We enrolled 1716 Chinese nursing students from three universities in a paperless survey that assessed a range of individual, family, and social risk factors associated with depressive symptoms. Multiple risk analysis was conducted to create a composite risk score for each individual. A test for trend was employed to assess the relationship between the multiple risk classification and depressive symptoms individually. Additionally, a 2-step cluster analysis and χ2 tests were used to examine the relationship between the different clusters and the level of depressive symptoms. Results: The mean scores of depressive symptoms increased significantly as the number of risk factors increased, regardless of their combination. Objective: To compare the reproductive pregnancy outcomes of pretreatment with long-acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) plus hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with HRT-only cycles, and investigate differences between single polypectomy and multiple polypectomies, and between one or two doses of GnRH-a. Materials and methods: This was a retrospective cohort study on patients undergoing polypectomy who underwent frozen–thawed embryo transfer (FET) from March 2018 to May 2019. They were divided into GnRH-a pretreatment and HRT-only groups. Each group was divided into single polypectomy or multiple polypectomies (in a single hysteroscopic session) subgroups. Clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate (LBR) were the main outcomes. The effect of GnRH-a dosage was further analysed. Results: There were 212 GnRH-a pretreatment cases (45 single and 167 multiple polyps) and 448 HRT-only cases (228 single and 220 multiple polyps). The LBR of the GnRH-a pretreatment group (53.3%) was significantly higher than the HRT group (43.3%; P = 0.016). Logistic regression analysis showed that GnRH-a pretreatment significantly affected the LBR (odds ratio, OR 1.470, 95% confidence interval, Cl 1.046–2.065; P = 0.026). In the multiple polypectomy subgroup, the LBR with GnRH-a pretreatment was higher than with HRT-only (54.5% vs 43.6%; P = 0.034). However, the LBR was not different between the respective single polypectomy subgroups (48.9% vs 43.0%; P = 0.466). For patients with multiple polyps, two GnRH-a pretreatments produced a higher LBR than a single GnRH-a pretreatment (62.7% vs 47.8%), but without significant difference (P = 0.055). Conclusion: GnRH-a pretreatment improved the LBR for FET cycles after hysteroscopic multiple polypectomies, independent of dose.
