Metallized Film Capacitors (MFC) are vital devices in many important fields such as energy, transportation, and aviation, whilst Digital Twin (DT) technology opens a new channel to leverage existing data resources of metallized film capacitors. This paper review current knowledge about metallized film capacitors and digital twin, list the key issues, propose frameworks, and provide the outlook to clarify the potential of digital twin’s application in metallized film capacitors. First, based on the development history and research status of metallized film capacitors, this review sorts out the key research issues of data utilization. Then, the connotation and typical characteristics of the digital twin definition are combed and refined, and the typical architecture of digital twin implementation is presented. Furthermore, the overall application architecture of digital twin in metallized film capacitors is constructed, and the technology system of each application scenario and the role of digital twin are analyzed. Finally, the main challenges in the application of the digital twin in metallized film capacitors and the future development directions are discussed. This review promotes the performance improvement, cost reduction and application expansion of metallized film capacitors, which can be used as a guide for the application of digital twin in other power equipment of energy system.

Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) is an opportunistic lung infection and has been reported among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). An animal study revealed that sulfasalazine enhances Pneumocystis clearance from the lung by accelerating macrophage activity.The self-controlled case series (SCCS) method was used to investigate the association between sulfasalazine use and PCP development in patients with RA without the effect of time-invariant, interpatient confounders. PCP episodes which developed in patients with RA at five hospitals between 2003 and 2019 were identified. PCP was defined by the following criteria: 1) detection of Pneumocystis jirovecii in respiratory specimens by polymerase chain reaction; 2) clinical symptoms (pyrexia, dry cough, dyspnea or hypoxia); 3) diffuse interstitial infiltrate on chest imaging; and 4) absence of PCP prophylaxis. The PCP incidence rate ratio (IRR) was compared between periods with and without sulfasalazine use by conditional Poisson regression.Fifty episodes of PCP were identified in 49 patients. Thirty patients received sulfasalazine at some point during their observation. While 49 episodes of PCP developed in 170.3 person-years without sulfasalazine use, only one episode of PCP developed in 103.7 person-years with sulfasalazine use. Sulfasalazine use was associated with a decreased PCP risk (adjusted IRR0.01; 95% confidence interval0.01-0.03) after adjusting for age and glucocorticoid, methotrexate, and tumor necrosis factor inhibitor administration.Our study demonstrated a preventive effect of sulfasalazine against PCP in patients with RA.

Nickel-organic framework (NiOF) compound with layered structure was prepared by solvothermal synthesis using nickel chloride and bezenedicarboxylic acid precursors. NiOF could be converted into nickel with a face-centered cubic structure and nickel oxide with a cubic rock-salt crystal structure after heating above 425 °C in air atmosphere. The organic units played a key role in the formation of well-dispersed nickel/nickel oxide nanoparticles. Primary particle size could be decreased by lowering the calcination temperature. Electrophoresis allowed for depositing a thin layer of nickel/nickel oxide nanoparticles on the skeleton of macroporous nickel foam (NF) as a catalyst electrode for electrooxidation of urea. Nickel/nickel oxide nanoparticles derived from NiOF at 425 °C possessed large amounts of redox active sites (Ni2+/Ni3+), and thus was capable of enhancing the current density and efficiency in urea electrolysis. NF substrate with unique macroporous conductive structure exhibited electrocatalytic behavior towards urea electrolysis and allowed for rapid transport of electron, electrolyte, and gaseous products. Therefore, coating of nickel/nickel oxide nanoparticles on NF provided a possible way for further enhancing the electrocatalytic ability of electrode in urea electrolysis, making it favorable for large-scale applications.

The eMCMBs (expanded mesocarbon microbeads) composed of fluffy graphene oxide nanosheets were obtained by chemical oxidation of MCMB graphite powder. The eMCMBs were attached to the skeleton of nickel foam through electrophoretic deposition. After heat treatment in reducing atmosphere, the eMCMBs were converted into reduced eMCMBs (reMCMBs) composed of sponge-like graphene nanosheets. Nickel foam with attached reMCMBs was used as a highly conductive scaffold to support nickel cobaltite nanoflakes. The sponge-like reMCMBs accommodated electrolyte solution, afforded current collector, and functioned as a stress buffer to alleviate electrode damage. Macroporous nickel cobaltite film with mesoporous thin nanoflakes could provide large amounts of pores for easy penetration of electrolyte solution, huge interfacial area for facile redox reactions, and short transport distance for ions and electrons. Nickel cobaltite grown around nickel foam with attached reMCMBs could deliver a high specific capacitance of 1025 F g −1 at 5 A g −1 , greater than that grown around nickel foam (688 F g −1 ). Nickel cobaltite nanoflakes grown on reMCMBs turned out to decrease the kinetic resistance, diffusive impedance, and volumetric strain, resulting in better capacitance, rate capability, and electrochemical stability.

A cyanide-bridged bimetallic coordination polymer, nickel hexacyanoferrate, could be pyrolyzed to form carbon-encapsulated nickel-iron (CE-NiFe) nanoparticles. The formation of nitrogen-doped spherical carbon shell with ordered mesoporous structure prevented the structural damage of catalyst cores and allowed the migration and diffusion of electrolyte into the hollow carbon spheres. An ultra-thin layer of CE-NiFe nanoparticles could be tightly attached to the three-dimensional macroporous nickel foam (NF) by electrophoretic deposition. The CE-NiFe nanoparticles could lower the onset potential and increase the current density in anodic urea electrolysis and cathodic hydrogen production as compared with bare NF. Macroporous NF substrate was very useful for the urea electrolysis and hydrogen production, which allowed for fast transport of electron, electrolyte, and gas products. The superior electrocatalytic ability of CE-NiFe/NF electrode in urea oxidation and water reduction made it favorable for versatile applications such as water treatment, hydrogen generation, and fuel cells.

Gelatin is an important hydrocolloid which has widespread applications in the pharmaceutical industry and biomedical science. However, despite its significance, clinical applications of gelatin are largely limited because of its gel-to-solution transition around human body temperature. In this work, we developed a series of F127–gelatin composite hydrogels with reverse thermo-responsive properties. The stiffness of F127–gelatin hydrogels can be adjusted by varying the types and contents of gelatin (type A, GA and type B, GB). The results of rheological data showed that F127–GA gels have higher gel strengths than those of F127–GB, which might be due to different isoelectric points between GA and GB. In addition, F127–gelatin gels showed significant cell viability and biocompatibility for human mesenchymal stem cells, indicating that these discovered hydrogels can serve as potential biomaterials and implantable scaffolds for applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Augmented Reality is a new technology which can combine the real world information with the virtual world information seamless. In order to increase the sense of immersion and interactivity, thereby improving agricultural information service capabilities and expanding the exchange of seed industry exhibition and promotion capabilities, this paper provides a kind of interactive method to simulate the plant growth. Based on the target tracking localization algorithm of ARToolkit, through the relative distance positioning two rectangular markers, corresponding to different plant growth development period, the method can interact to realize the control of virtual objects, such as translation, rotation and zoom.

In this report, a simple and facile solvothermal method is developed for fabrication of platinum–ruthenium (PtRu) nanodendrites supported on reduced graphene oxide (PtRu-RGO) in the ethylene glycol (EG) system, using hexadecylpyridinium chloride (HDPC) as a shape-directing agent. The as-prepared nanocomposites show the superior catalytic activity and better stability towards EG oxidation, compared with RGO-supported Pt nanoparticles and commercial PtRu/C (Pt 30 wt. %, Ru 15 wt. %) catalysts. This strategy may open a new route to design and prepare advanced electrocatalysts in direct EG fuel cells.

Well-defined core shell gold palladium@palladium nanocrystals (AuPd@Pd) are facilely prepared by a simple and green wet-chemical method at 25 degrees C. A Good's buffer, 2-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazinyl] ethanesulfonic acid (HEPES), is used as a reducing agent and a shape-directing agent, while there is no template, seed, organic solvent, or surfactant involved. The AuPd@Pd nanocrystals are uniformly dispersed on graphene nanosheets by ultrasonication, resulting in the formation of graphene supported AuPd@Pd (G-AuPd@Pd). The as-prepared nanocomposites exhibit the improved catalytic activity, good tolerance, and better stability for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) in alkaline media, compared with the G-Pd and commercial Pd black catalysts. The as-developed method may provide a promising pathway for large-scale fabrication of AuPd-based catalysts. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

In this work, bimetallic alloyed platinum-palladium (PtPd) nanoflowers are fabricated by one-pot solvothermal co-reduction of Pt (II) acetylacetonate and Pd (II) acetylacetonate in oleylamine system. The as-prepared nanostructures show the enhanced electrocatalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), dominated by a four-electron pathway based on the Koutecky-Levich plots, mainly owing to the inhibition of the formation of Pt–OH ad via the downshift of d-band center for Pt. Meanwhile, PtPd nanoflowers display good methanol tolerance and improved stability for ORR. The chronoamperometry test reveals that the current of PtPd nanoflowers remains 45.9% of its original value within 6000 s, much higher than those of commercial Pt (36.7%) and Pd (32.2%) black catalysts. Therefore, PtPd nanoflowers with unique interconnected structures can be used as a promising cathode catalyst in direct methanol fuel cells.

In this work, a facile general strategy is developed for preparation of palladium-based bimetallic alloyed nanodendrites (PdM NDs, M = Pt, Co, and Ni) via coreduction of Pd(II) acetylacetonate and M(II/III) acetylacetonate salts with oleylamine. Hexadecylpyridinium chloride monohydrate (HDPC) is used as a co-surfactant for preventing the aggregation of nanodendrites. Control experiments varying the precursors and reaction time demonstrate that the dendritic nanocrystals are formed via aggregation-based crystal growth. The as-prepared hybrid nanocrystals display improved electrocatalytic activity and better stability for methanol and ethylene glycol (EG) oxidation, compared with home-made Pd NDs and commercial Pd black catalysts. The developed method provides a novel platform for synthesis of novel electrocatalysts in fuel cells.

Popcorn-like PtAu nanoparticles were fabricated by a facile and green one-pot wet-chemical method, where H2PtCl4 and HAuCl4 were simultaneously reduced by glucosamine in alkaline media. The PtAu nanoparticles were further supported on reduced graphene oxide by simple ultrasonication. The nanocomposites showed an enhanced catalytic performance toward oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), dominated by a four-electron pathway, in comparison with Pt–rGO and commercial 10% Pt/C catalysts. Meanwhile, the nanocomposites displayed improved electrocatalytic properties and better stability for methanol oxidation over Pt–rGO and commercial Pt/C catalysts.

Virtual crop models and animation make great significances to agricultural researches. But to recreate the structure and dynamic is often a hard and laborious task. Most existing plant-modeling systems require the user to have specific biological knowledge about plants, but its often the 3D artists who do the work. This paper discusses a method of plant modeling and rigging in Maya, which has already been familiar to 3D artists and has advantages in industrial production pipelines. The method takes pepper plant for example, dividing the problem into organs and the growth patterns, and using Maya modeling and animating system to simulate the topological structure and growth dynamic. It set up the geometry with controls which are easy to use. The result can be conveniently exported to projects. This approach helps prepare the research of variety plant modeling and animation plug-in for Maya.

Organic and inorganic contaminants can suppress immune function in molluscs and crustaceans. It was postulated that metals could modulate immune function in marine crabs. To test this hypothesis, sublethal effects of mercury (Hg) on cellular immune and biochemical responses of crabs were determined. When crabs were exposed for 14 d to environmentally-relevant concentrations of Hg, changes in immune-associated parameters including, total haemocyte count, lysosomal membrane stability, phenoloxidase, super oxide generation and phagocytosis were observed. Oxidative stress, as measured by lipid peroxidation, antioxidant responses, including superoxide dismutase and catalase activities and glutathione-mediated antioxidant enzymes in serum, haemocyte lysate, gills, hepatopancreas and muscle were assessed in crabs exposed to Hg. Exposure to Hg resulted in significantly lesser immune-associated parameters in haemolymph and antioxidants in all tissues studied. Conversely, GST and phenoloxidase activity, were greater in crabs exposed to Hg. Responses of antioxidant parameters (SOD, CAT and GP(x)) were positively correlated with immune responses, including THC, superoxide and phagocytosis. These results were postulated to be due to an immediate response of antioxidant defense to oxygen radicals generated. Overall, the results suggest that 14 d exposure to environmentally realistic concentrations of Hg causes immunomodulation and potentially harmful lessened antioxidant defenses of crabs.

In this study, we reported a significant difference in the supramolecular hydrogelation of newly discovered NI-GFF (NI-Gly-l-Phe-l-Phe) and NI-FFG (NI-l-Phe-l-Phe-Gly) on the basis of their phase diagrams. With a small difference in the peptide chain between NI-GFF and NI-FFG, we observed a significant difference in their self-assembly properties; NI-GFF formed a stable gel at neutral pH, whereas NI-FFG did not, under the same conditions. From spectroscopic and computational studies, intermolecular π-π interactions and extended hydrogen bonding interactions might reinforce the intermolecular interactions of NI-GFF, which may facilitate the formation of the self-assembled nanostructures and the hydrogel. In addition, the aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-active NI-GFF reveals relatively good biocompatibility compared with that of NI-FFG for two commonly used cell lines, suggesting that it is a promising candidate for use as a supramolecular material in biomedical applications. Our results highlight the importance of tripeptide sequences in a self-assembling hydrogel system.

Summary Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a weight reduction lifestyle program on risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women. Materials and Methods The present study was a pilot clinical trial designed to test the effects of a weight reduction lifestyle program on risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women. Obese and overweight women were recruited from April 2006 to November 2006. The data collected included age, body weight, body mass index (BMI), abdominal circumference, hip circumference, serum lipid profile, as well as levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and homocysteine. The subjects underwent a 3-month lifestyle program, including diet education, balanced diet with caloric restriction of 1,200 kcal/day, aerobic exercise (1 hour) twice weekly and jogging for at least 10,000 steps daily. Physical examination and blood tests were performed at the beginning and at the end of the study. Results A total of 29 subjects were included in the present study. Significant reductions were observed in body weight, BMI, abdominal circumference, hip circumference, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting insulin, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. No significant differences were observed in the levels of fasting sugar, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol or homocysteine. Conclusion An appropriate weight reduction lifestyle program may effectively reduce body weight and decrease most of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

With the increasing development of virtual reality technology, the motion-sensing technology used in agricultural skills training more widely, it plays a great role in promoting the agricultural production, scientific research and teaching. To break the space-time constraints, in order to train the farmers to know well the high precision agricultural skills, and increase the user’s immersive and interactive, we propose a training method based on motion-sensing technology. This article in view of the grape vines binding technology, puts forward a kind of agricultural skills training methods based on the leap motion technology. Through maya bone modeling technology to realize 3-D simulation of grape vines, the system completes the interactive simulation of grape vines binding based on leap motion technology.

The ability of lipase from Candida rugosa (Lipase AY-30) to catalyze direct esterification of l -menthol and butyric anhydride was investigated. Response surface methodology and 5-level-4-factor central composite rotatable design were employed to evaluate the effects of synthesis parameters, such as reaction time (2–10 h), temperature (25–65 °C), enzyme amount (10–50% of l -menthol), and substrate mole ratio of l -menthol to butyric anhydride (1:1–1:3) on mole percent conversion of l -menthyl butyrate by direct esterification. Based on the analysis of ridge max, the optimum synthesis conditions were as follows: reaction time 8.7 h, temperature 37.1 °C, enzyme amount 31.7%, and substrate mole ratio 1:2.6; the highest yield obtained was 72.6%.

The effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been reported to modulate the immune response in aquatic animals, but the collected information of their effects on fish immunity is so far ambiguous. This study demonstrated that Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) exposure altered the expression pattern of an antimicrobial peptide hepcidin (PM-hepc) gene and the activities of some immune-associated parameters in the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged red sea bream (Pagrus major). It was observed that LPS could increase respiratory burst, lysozyme and antibacterial activity in P. major. However when the P. major was exposed to different concentrations of BaP (1, 4, or 8 μg L(-1) ) for 14 days and then challenged with LPS there was no significant change in the lysozyme and antibacterial activity. It was further observed that LPS could induce the PM-hepc mRNA expression at 3, 6, and 12-h post-LPS challenge. However, when P. major was exposed first to BaP for 14 days and then challenged with LPS, the expression of PM-hepc mRNA was delayed in the liver until 24 h and not significantly induced until 48 and 96 h. The mRNA expression pattern was completely different from that only with LPS challenge, showing that BaP exposure changed the PM-hepc mRNA expression pattern of fish with LPS challenge. This study demonstrated that BaP exposure can weaken or inhibit the induction of lysozyme and antibacterial activity in the LPS-challenged P. major; conversely BaP exposure could enhance the mRNA expression of PM-hepc gene, indicating that the effect of BaP has different modulatory mechanism on hepcidin genes and immune-associated parameters.

Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors of the ovary are rare diseases that occur primarily in young women. The majority of these tumors are unilaterally localized, and conservative surgery is sufficient. However, these tumors exhibit a variety of histological patterns, which are significant prognostic factors. To date, no standard therapy exists. Here we report 4 cases of Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors of the ovary. One patient whose tumor was a poorly differentiated Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor with mesenchymal heterologous elements received adjuvant chemotherapy postoperatively but died of disease 2.5 years after surgery. The other 3 patients remained free of disease during follow-up. Conservative surgery is an appropriate treatment for young patients with Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors. Those who have poor prognostic factors may need adjuvant chemotherapy with a combination of bleomycin, etoposide and cisplatin.

BackgroundSpinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is the most common neuromuscular autosomal recessive disorder. The American College of Medical Genetics has recently recommended routine carrier screening for SMA because of the high carrier frequency (1 in 25-50) as well as the severity of that genetic disease. Large studies are needed to determine the feasibility, benefits, and costs of such a program.Methods and findingsThis is a prospective population-based cohort study of 107,611 pregnant women from 25 counties in Taiwan conducted during the period January 2005 to June 2009. A three-stage screening program was used: (1) pregnant women were tested for SMA heterozygosity; (2) if the mother was determined to be heterozygous for SMA (carrier status), the paternal partner was then tested; (3) if both partners were SMA carriers, prenatal diagnostic testing was performed. During the study period, a total of 2,262 SMA carriers with one copy of the SMN1 gene were identified among the 107,611 pregnant women that were screened. The carrier rate was approximately 1 in 48 (2.10%). The negative predictive value of DHPLC coupled with MLPA was 99.87%. The combined method could detect approximately 94% of carriers because most of the cases resulted from a common single deletion event. In addition, 2,038 spouses were determined to be SMA carriers. Among those individuals, 47 couples were determined to be at high risk for having offspring with SMA. Prenatal diagnostic testing was performed in 43 pregnant women (91.49%) and SMA was diagnosed in 12 (27.91%) fetuses. The prevalence of SMA in our population was 1 in 8,968.ConclusionThe main benefit of SMA carrier screening is to reduce the burden associated with giving birth to an affected child. In this study, we determined the carrier frequency and genetic risk and provided carrier couples with genetic services, knowledge, and genetic counseling.
