Luminescent Eu:GdVO nanoparticles, with an average size of 60 nm, were deposited first on monocrystalline silicon wafers, then on four different natural stone materials, by a spray-coating technique and a silica layer was subsequently deposited by atmospheric pressure plasma jet to protect the luminescent layer and improve its adhesion to the substrate. The luminescent films were characterized by photoluminescence excitation and emission, while the surface morphology was examined by FEG-SEM microscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry to determine the coating thickness. The optical appearance of the coatings was also evaluated by colorimetric measurements and the efficacy of the fixing action of the silica layer was estimated by PL measurements performed before and after a Scotch™ tape peeling test. The proposed methodology, easily applied on the surface of stone supports, has led to the realization of a luminescent film displaying good mechanical properties, transparent and undetectable in the presence of visible light, but easily activated by UV light source, indicating that the Eu:GdVO nanophosphors could be used as luminescent nanotags for a reliable anti-counterfeiting technology.

This work, of a descriptive type, explored the use of coping strategies in an intentional sample of 52 police trainees belonging to the Superior Institute of Public Security analyzing the existence of significant differences in average in relation to sex and among cadets of the second year and third year of the career. It was applied the Stress Coping Questionnaire (Sandin y Chorot, 2003; adapted by Lopez Aballay, 2013), which assesses seven basic dimensions of coping and ad-hoc survey, which collects socio-demographic data (age, sex, year completed). Main results indicate a marked use of the coping strategies: Focus on Problem solving, Positive reappraisal and Seek of social support. Regarding to gender differences, it was found that women tend to use more than men strategies such as Seek of social support, Open emotional expression and Avoidance., Este trabajo, de carácter descriptivo, indagó el uso de estrategias de afrontamiento del estrés en una muestra intencional de 52 aspirantes a policía perteneciente al Instituto Superior de Seguridad Pública, analizando la existencia de diferencias de media significativas en relación al sexo y entre los cadetes de segundo año y tercer año de la carrera. Se aplicó el Cuestionario de Afrontamiento del estrés (Sandín y Chorot, 2003; adaptado por López Aballay, 2013), que evalúa siete dimensiones básicas correspondientes al afrontamiento y una encuesta elaborada ad-hoc, que registra datos socio-demográficos (edad, sexo, año cursado). Los principales resultados obtenidos señalan un uso acentuado de las estrategias de afrontamiento: Focalización en la solución de problemas, Reevaluación positiva y Búsqueda de apoyo social. En relación a las diferencias por género, se encontró que las mujeres tienden a utilizar en mayor medida que los hombres las estrategias de Búsqueda de apoyo social, Expresión emocional abierta y Evitación.

Eu:GdVO nanophosphorswith an average size of 60 nm, synthesized by a facile solvothermalmethod, were deposited on monocrystalline silicon wafers by a spray-coating technique with artworks anti-counterfeiting applications in mind. Atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) was used to deposit a silica-based layer on top of the nanometric luminescent layer, in order to improve its adhesion to the substrate and to protect it from the environment. The nanophosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Coating composition was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and its morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM). The film thickness was evaluated by means of ellipsometry and adhesionwas estimated by a peeling test. Luminescent properties of the nanophosphors deposited and fixed on silicon wafers were also measured. The whole layer resulted well-adhered to the silicon substrate, transparent and undetectable in the presence of visible light, but easily activated by UV light source.

To investigate the patient’s perception of the therapeutic relationship and assessments about the therapist which could be facilitating, we designed a study using a non-probabilistic sample composed by 108 patients (M = 31.90, SD = 11.54), residents in San Luis, Argentina. The Helping Alliance Questionnaire - HAq-II was used (Luborsky et al., 1996) and a questionnaire built ad hoc, too. In general, the results show an appropriate therapeutic relationship and a high rating of therapist aspects such as warmth, seriousness, understanding, trust, respect, interest and commitment. Women therapists obtained higher scores in warmth and seriousness, trust, commitment to work, among others. Patients without knowledge of the different psychotherapy approaches tend to assess more positively relational aspects of the therapeutic relationship; meanwhile those who have knowledge have higher expectations about the results that are intended to be achieved., Para investigar a percepção da relação terapêutica e avaliações sobre o terapeuta podia ser que permita ao paciente, um estudo usando uma amostra não aleatória de 108 pacientes (M = 31,90, DP = 11,54), residente em San Luis foi concebido, Argentina. foi utilizado o Helping Aliança Questionário - HAQ-II (Luborsky et al., 1996) e um questionário construído ad hoc. Os resultados observados relação terapêutica geralmente adequada e um elevado aspectos terapeutas de avaliação, tais como calor, profissionalismo, conhecimento, confiança, respeito, interesse e compromisso. Terapeutas mulheres pontuaram mais no calor e seriedade, confiança, compromisso de trabalhar, entre outros. Pacientes sem conhecimento de diferentes abordagens de psicoterapia tendem a ser dada mais aspectos relacionais da relação terapêutica; enquanto aqueles com conhecimento têm maiores expectativas sobre os resultados que deseja alcançar., Para indagar la percepción del paciente de la relación terapéutica y las valoraciones acerca del terapeuta que podrían ser facilitadoras, se diseñó un estudio recurriendo a una muestra no probabilística compuesta por 108 pacientes (M = 31.90, DE = 11.54), residentes en San Luis, Argentina. Se utilizó el Helping Alliance Questionnaire - HAq-II (Luborsky et al., 1996) y un cuestionario construido ad hoc. En los resultados se observa, en general, una adecuada relación terapéutica y una alta valoración en los terapeutas de aspectos como calidez, seriedad, comprensión, confianza, respeto, interés y compromiso. Las terapeutas mujeres obtuvieron puntuaciones mayores en calidez y seriedad, clima de confianza, compromiso de trabajo, entre otros. Los pacientes sin conocimiento de los diferentes enfoques de psicoterapia tienden a valorar más positivamente aspectos vinculares de la relación terapéutica; en tanto quienes tienen conocimiento poseen expectativas más altas respecto a los resultados que pretenden alcanzar.

This research is part of a mayor project that attempts to obtain data about the actual situation of psychotherapy in Argentina. The survey was administered in June of 2005 and designed at an ad-hoc level to evaluate the perception of common people about psychologists and psychotherapy. The questionnaire contains 14 items and was administered to 184 people from different cities of our country. Results suggest that, in general, people evaluate psychotherapeutic interventions in a positive way. Over 40% of the surveyed received psychotherapy and showed high conformity with the help received, even in cases in which the request was not motivated by a disorder. Most of the treatments lasted between one to six months. Finally, it was found that women tend to search for emotional support and men are more concerned in finding psychologists that are effective at a professional level., Esta investigación, inscripta en un proyecto de mayor alcance, intenta aportar información acerca del estado actual de la psicoterapia en Argentina. El estudio fue realizado a mediados del 2005 en base a una encuesta diseñada ad-hoc para evaluar la percepción de las personas acerca de los psicólogos y la psicoterapia. La misma consta de 14 items y fue administrada a 184 personas de distintas provincias del país. Los resultados sugieren que las personas valoran positivamente las intervenciones psicoterapéuticas, señalando que éstas mantienen un alto grado de efectividad. Más del 40% de los/as encuestados/as ha recurrido a un/a psicólogo/a y señalan una amplia conformidad con la ayuda recibida aun en los casos en los que la consulta no fue motivada por padecer un trastorno. La duración de la mayoría de los tratamientos varía de uno a seis meses. Así mismo se encontró que las mujeres tienden a buscar en mayor medida contención emocional, en tanto que los hombres están más preocupados por encontrar personas que sean efectivas a nivel profesional.

This work is aimed at exploring both the relationship between personality styles and coping strategies and gender differences in the use of coping strategies. Two psychological instruments - Coping Adolescent Scale of Frydenberg & Lewis (1996) and Millon Adolescent Personality Inventory (1982) - were applied to a sample of 69 adolescents from a private school, aged 15-18 years old. The results show significant differences in the prevailing coping strategies used by women who tend to get social support, to concentrate in solving their own problems, and to be concerned about and to seek spiritual support for conflictive situations; while men obtain higher scores on strategies such as denying problems and physical distraction. A highly significant difference is observed in the score obtained by women in comparison with men on the style of respectful personality., La presente investigación tiene como objetivos indagar la relación entre estilos personalidad y estrategias de afrontamiento, así como explorar diferencias en la utilización de estrategias de afrontamiento según sexo. Se aplicaron dos instrumentos a una muestra de 69 adolescentes de un establecimiento privado, de edades entre 15 y 18 años: la Escala Afrontamiento para Adolescentes, de Frydenberg y Lewis (1996), y el Inventario de Personalidad Adolescente de Millon (1982). Los resultados obtenidos indican que se registran diferencias significativas en las estrategias preferentemente utilizadas por las mujeres, quienes tienden a buscar apoyo social, concentrarse en resolver sus problemas, preocuparse y buscar apoyo espiritual cuando tienen dificultades; mientras que los varones registran puntuaciones significativamente mayores en comparación con las mujeres en las estrategias ignorar el problema y distracción física. Se observa una diferencia altamente significativa en las puntuaciones de las mujeres en comparación con los varones para el estilo de personalidad respetuoso.
