Background: Morphological diagnosis of leukemias may sometimes not correlate with flow cytometry diagnosis. Classification of hematological neoplasm by the World Health Organization gives priority to cytogenetic, molecular biology, and even patient history, in an attempt to classify patients primarily regarding prognosis. Cytomorphology and immunophenotyping complement each other. Morphology is burdened by a high degree of subjectivity. That is why correlation of information provided by the two techniques is still absolutely necessary. The aim of our study was to correlate between cytomorphological findings and immunophenotyping results on a group of patients investigated for acute leukemia. Materials and Methods: Study was conducted in department of pathology in Chirayu Medical College and Hospital, Bhopal from December 2018 to September 2019. Cases were diagnosed as acute leukemia based on complete blood count and bone marrow aspirate/peripheral smear.These cases were sent to flowcytometry for immunophenotyping for further confirmation. Results: Total 74 cases of acute leukemias were diagnosed, out of which 30 were Acute myeloid leukemia and 44 were Acute lymphoblastic leukemia. There was 95.95% correlation between diagnosis on cytomorphology and flowcytometry. Two cases remain unclassified on cytomorphology which turn out to be Acute myeloid leukemia on flowcytometry. One case of Acute myeloid leukemia on cytomorphology was diagnosed as Acute lymphoblastic leukemia on flowcytometry. Conclusions: Inclusion of flowcytometry in routine diagnostic workup of acute leukemia ensures proper characterization as well as management. Major challenges for the near future are the standardization of technical procedures, data interpretation, and reporting.

Introduction: The incidence of testicular lumps has continuously increased in recent decades. FNAC serves as an important tool to diagnose and provide sufficient information for the initiation of treatment without need for an open biopsy. Objectives: To find out spectrum of lesions in testicular swellings on FNAC excluding apart from infertility causes and to establish it as a promising diagnostic tool. Materials and Methods: This is a study done at advanced cytology center. It is a retrospective study spanning over a period of 5 years. A total of 418 male patients with testicular lesion were subjected for FNAC. Demographic data and cause for FNAC were noted down. Diagnostic contribution of FNAC was evaluated taking clinical outcome after treatment or histopathology done in case of neoplastic lesion. Results: The age range was 10 years to 75 years. Mean age was 36 years. Predominant lesions were of infectious causes, most common malignancy found was seminoma. Conclusion: FNAC was observed to be capable of providing near correct diagnosis in most cases which was proved later on either on treatment or histopathology. Introduction: For preoperative evaluation of patient with salivary gland lesion Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) is an effective technique, but due to lack of uniform system for reporting and also because of morphological heterogeneity and overlap between different lesions there are limitations, in its use. The Milan System for Reporting Salivary Gland Cytopathology (MSRSGC) was introduced which divides salivary gland lesions into six categories, guides in diagnosis and further management of Risk Of Malignancy (ROM) in different categories. Aim: The aim of the study was to classify salivary gland lesions according to MSRSGC and also evaluate for ROM in each category. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study looking at the data over a period of 3 years (2017 Jan to Dec 2019) in the Department of Pathology Chirayu Medical College and Hospital Bhopal. In this study salivary gland FNAC cases were categorised according to Milan System on cytopathology. Results: A total of 63 cases of salivary gland system FNAC were evaluated on cytology and classified according to MILAN system. Histopathological follow-up (correlation) was available in 47 cases. The risk of malignancy (ROM) in different categories was calculated. Category I Nondiagnostic constituted 25%, Category II Non-neoplastic comprised 0%, Category III Atypia of Undetermined Significance (AUS) showed 50% Category IV: (a) Benign showed 5.0% IV; (b) Salivary gland neoplasm of Uncertain Malignant Potential (SUMP) comprised 100%, Category V Suspicious for Malignancy (SM) comprised 100% and Category VI Malignant constituted 90%. Conclusion: MSRSGC is an evidence based effective system for salivary gland FNAC. It provides better communication with clinicians and improves over all patient care.

Introduction: Pancytopenia is an important clinico-haematological entity observed in our day to day clinical practice. It is a disorder in which all the three major formed elements of blood (red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets) are decreased in number. The causes of pancytopenia can be due to decrease in hematopoietic cell production in the marrow resulting from infections, toxins, malignant cell infiltration, post- chemotherapy or post-radiation. Materials and Methods: 150 patients having pancytopenia were included in the present study. The study was conducted in the Department of Pathology of Chirayu Medical College & Hospitals, Bhopal. The study period was 1 July 2016 to 31 December 2017. Study was performed in patients attending outdoor and indoor departments of Chirayu medical college and hospitals, Bhopal. Informed consent was obtained from each of the patient fulfilling the inclusion criteria prior to their enrolment in the study. Those how had age Results: This is a clinico-haematological study on Pancytopenia and its correlation with bone marrow aspiration carried out in the Department of Pathology over a period of one and half year from 1 June 2016 to 31 December 2017. A total number of 150 patients in all the age group presenting with pancytopenia were evaluated. Out of 150 cases 95 were males and 55 were females. The age of the patients ranged from 0 years to >70 years. 64% cases were observed in the age group of 11-30 years. Most of the patients were in the age group of 11-30 years. Megaloblastic anaemia was the commonest underlying etiology of pancytopenia in 50% patients. Next common cause was hypersplenism in 18% and aplastic anaemia in 11% cases. Acute leukaemia was the cause in 9%. MDS was seen in 10%. Nutritional anaemia was seen in 2% patients.
