The soft surrounding rock of deep roadways is in the state of “micro-fracture and low permeability”. In order to solve the problem of grouting reinforcement of micro-fractures surrounding rock in deep roadways, the influence characteristics of auxiliary materials and additives on slurry flow were analyzed, and the composition and proportion of superfine cement-based composite grouting materials were determined: superfine cement accounted for 89.4%, superfine coal ash accounted for 5%, ultrafine mineral powder accounted for 5%, naphthalene water reducing agent accounted for 3~5‰, and lignin sulfonate calcium accounted for 1~3‰. The effects of water–cement ratio and water reducer content on slurry viscosity and water bleeding rate were tested by laboratory experiments. Based on the fracture characteristics of surrounding rock and the “Liu Jiacai Formula”, the influence law of fracture opening, grouting pressure and slurry viscosity on the slurry diffusion radius was analyzed. The results show that the slurry viscosity decreases with the increase of water–cement ratio and water reducer content, but the bleeding rate increases obviously with the increase of the two factors; when the water–cement ratio is 1.0 and the water reducer content is 3‰, the slurry has the advantages of “strong permeability, strong flow and low water bleeding rate”; the smaller the fracture opening is, the greater the required grouting pressure and the lower the required slurry viscosity. Aiming at the “micro-fracture zone” of surrounding rock in deep roadways, when the dynamic viscosity of the slurry is 2.0 mPa·s, the reasonable grouting pressure should be 12 MPa to meet the needs of grouting reinforcement engineering. The high-pressure grouting test of surrounding rock in the “micro-fracture zone” was successfully carried out by using the superfine cement-based composite grouting material.

We compared four esterifiable enzymes. The lipase Novozym 435 possessed the highest activity for the conjugated linoleic acid esterification during the synthesis of triglycerides. The triglycerides were synthesized by esterification of glycerol and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in a no-solvent system using lipase catalysis. We investigated the effects of temperature, enzyme concentration, water content, and time on esterification. Enzyme and water concentrations of up to 1% of the total reaction volume and a system temperature of 60°C proved optimal for esterification. Similarly, when the esterification was carried out for 24 h, the reaction ratio improved to 94.11%. The esterification rate of the rotating screen basket remained high (87.28%) when the enzyme was re-used for the 5th time. We evaluated the substrate selectivity of lipase (NOVO 435) and determined that this lipase prefers the 10,12-octadacadienoic acid to the 9,11-octadecadienoic acid.

In this paper, the spatio-temporal architecture of the stimulation-modulated spontaneous low frequency oscillation (LFO) in the SD rat’s somatosensory cortex is studied by optical imaging (OI) technology. After the electrical stimulation, it is observed that the phases of the LFO signals are changed, the amplitudes are increased, and most importantly, the signals in the bilateral somatosensory cortex tend to be synchronized. Based on these phenomena, the origin of the LFO signals is discussed. It is argued that the arteriole vasomotion may be the major contribution to the LFO signals under green illumination (546±10 nm). The phase relationship among the LFO signals of arteries, veins and cortex has also been studied. It is found that there are phase differences between the LFO signal of veins and that of cortex under red illumination (605±10 nm), the signal of cortex leads that of veins by 0.6–1.0 s, while under green illumination, no obvious differences are observed and the reason may be that the mechanism of the LFO signals of cortexes and vessels are different.

To investigate the effect of maslinic acid preconditioning against injuries of rat cortical neurons induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD).The cortical neurons were isolated from Sprague-Dawley rat embryos at 15-17 days of gestation for primary culture. The cortical neurons were incubated with different concentrations (0.1, 1, and 10 micro;mol/L) of maslinic acid prior to OGD. The cell damage and viability were evaluated for lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) leakage and using MTT assay, respectively, and the expression of Bax protein was detected using Western blotting.OGD significantly increased LDH release rate and decreased the viability of the cells. After preconditioning with maslinic acid (1 and 10 micro;mol/L), LDH leakage rate was decreased and cell the viability increased in cells exposed to OGD. Western blotting showed that Bax expression in the cells decreased as maslinic acid concentrations increased.Pretreatment with maslinic acid can protect cultured embryonic rat cortical neurons against OGD-induced injury possibly in relation to decreased expression of Bax.

Among the available animal models of brain ischemia, it is broadly considered that cerebral cortex microvessels thrombosis induced by photochemical method is similar to human cerebral thrombosis. The brain tissues are damaged by the lack of blood and oxygen induced by thrombosis of the microvessels region. In this study, optical intrinsic signal imaging (OISI, at 546plusmn10 nm) was used to investigate the evolution of a photothrombotic lesion to somatosensory cortex. During illumination, we observed clots flow several times in illuminated region vessels, and vessels turned vague, which indicated occlusion is forming. The result of TTC staining shows that the illuminated area was infarct.

In this paper a novel temporal-spatial analysis procedure for optical imaging (OI) data of single trail is proposed which exploits the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) to detect the activated voxels of cortex and exploits temporal independent component analysis (tICA) to extract the underlying independent sources whose number is determined by Bayesian information criterion. The neural response signals and the V-signals are picked out by investigating the temporal architecture of the independent sources given by tICA. Simulated data is generated to test the validity of the procedure and then the procedure was applied to two sets of OI data of single trail collected from the rats’ HP area. The neural response signals together with the pulse-induced and the 0.1Hz fluctuation signals are extracted from data successfully. The procedure we proposed is a valuable technique for researchers to investigate the temporal and spatial architectures of cortical functional mapping.

It is widely recognized that thrombosis is the major event in the evolution of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and acute ischemic stroke (AIS). But the contribution of coagulation factors to the development of ischemic arterial diseases is still not clearly established. The goal of this study was to establish the possible relationship between coagulation factors as well as anticoagulant and the onset of AMI and AIS. The study population consisted of 69 patients with AMI and 71 with AIS as well as 50 age-matched healthy volunteers. Compared with the control group, plasma tissue factor (TF) and tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) activities and both TF and TFPI antigens were significantly higher in the AMI group; plasma TF activity and antigen in AIS group were significantly increased, but the activity and antigen of plasma TFPI were significantly decreased in the AIS group. Plasma FVII coagulation (FVII:C) activity was markedly higher in patients with AIS, but not statistically different to the control in patients with AMI. FVIII coagulation (FVIII:C) activity was remarkably higher in patients with AMI but slightly lower than the control in patients with AIS. In the AMI and AIS groups, prothrombin activity and clottable fibrinogen were significantly higher and plasma antithrombin III activity was remarkably lower than the control. The results suggested that during the onset of AMI and AIS, the initiation of TF pathway would be associated with the thrombotic events and that the blood be in hypercoagulable state. But the changes of FVII:C, TFPI and FVIII:C in AMI are different from those in AIS.

SummaryBlood coagulation has been thought to be composed of both intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. Recent evidence strongly supports the critical role of the extrinsic pathway in the initiation of blood coagulation. This investigation established an assay that examines the role of FXI in the thromboplastin-initiated (extrinsic) coagulation based on this new concept. Plasma clotting times were measured at different concentrations of thromboplastin with activated FXII inhibited (FXIIa-inhibited Diluted Thromboplastin Time, FXIIaiDTT). Only at low concentrations of thromboplastin was FXIIaiDTT of FXI-deficient plasma significantly prolonged than that of normal plasma. Depletion of FXI from normal plasma prolonged its FXIIaiDTT and replenishment of FXI shortened it. FXIIaiDTTs of both FVIII-deficient and FIX-deficient plasma were remarkably prolonged, and addition of normal plasma dose-dependently shortened it. Furthermore, earlier α-thrombin inhibition was directly correlated with decreasing FXa generation. The amount of FXa production was: platelet-rich plasma > platelet-poor plasma > FXI-deficient plasma. Therefore, our findings from the FXIIaiDTT assays not only support the critical role of extrinsic pathway in blood coagulation initiation, but also demonstrate the importance of FXI as an amplifier of thrombin generation in thromboplastin-initiated coagulation.

An automated method is presented for artery-vein separation in cerebral cortical images recorded with optical imaging of the intrinsic signal. The vessel-type separation method is based on the fact that the spectral distribution of intrinsic physiological oscillations varies from arterial regions to venous regions. In arterial regions, the spectral power is higher in the heartbeat frequency (HF), whereas in venous regions, the spectral power is higher in the respiration frequency (RF). The separation method was begun by extracting the vascular network and its centerline. Then the spectra of the optical intrinsic signals were estimated by the multitaper method. A standard F-test was performed on each discrete frequency point to test the statistical significance at the given level. Four periodic physiological oscillations were examined: HF, RF, and two other eigenfrequencies termed F1 and F2. The separation of arteries and veins was implemented with the fuzzy c-means clustering method and the region-growing approach by utilizing the spectral amplitudes and power-ratio values of the four eigenfrequencies on the vasculature. Subsequently, independent spectral distributions in the arteries, veins, and capillary bed were estimated for comparison, which showed that the spectral distributions of the intrinsic signals were very distinct between the arterial and venous regions.
