Šī darba mērķis ir novērtēt pacientu apmierinātību ar SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse” saņemto ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējumu un izstrādāt priekšlikumus tā pilnveidošanai. Ar šī darba palīdzību autore vēlas aktualizēt ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējuma nozīmi sirds un asinsvadu slimību diagnostikā, konstatējot aktuālo situāciju valstī un pasaulē, proti, apzinot mirstības rādītājus tieši no sirds un asinsvadu sistēmas slimībām. Darbā tiek salīdzināts gaidīšanas laiks uz ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējumu dažādās Rīgas reģiona medicīnas iestādēs, gan privātajā sektorā esošajās, gan tajās, kuras atrodas līgumattiecībās ar NVD. Tāpat darba izstrādē tiek pielietota pacientu anketēšana kā instruments pakalpojumu kvalitātes novērtēšanai. Maģistra darba uzdevumi ir vairāki. Primārie darba uzdevumi, kas attiecas uz pētījuma praktisko daļu ir noskaidrot gaidīšanas laiku uz ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējumu Rīgas reģiona medicīnas iestādēs un salīdzināt to ar SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse”, kā arī ar pacientu aptaujas anketas palīdzību noskaidrot pacientu viedokli par sniegto pakalpojumu kvalitāti SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse un sagatavot rekomendācijas SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse” sniegtā ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējuma kvalitātes pilnveidošanai. Kvalitātes uzlabošanas nolūkos darbā tiek rasta atbilde uz sekojošu pētījuma jautājumu: “Kuri apmierinātības faktori visvairāk korelē viens ar otru?” Darba gaitā tiek konstatētas SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse” kvalitātes novērtēšanas galvenās problēmas – “pacientu neapmierinātība ar gaidīšanas laiku līdz konsultācijai” un “ceļa atrašana uz konkrēto medicīnas iestādi”. Tāpat darba gaitā tiek konstatēti tie pacientu apmierinātības faktori, kuri visvairāk korelē viens ar otru: “apmierinātība ar saziņu un apmierinātība ar ārstēšanu”, “apmierinātība ar saziņu un apmierinātība ar sniegto informāciju”, “apmierinātība ar saziņu un apmierinātība ar sniegto servisu”, “apmierinātība ar ārstēšanu un apmierinātība ar ekspektācijām”. Iegūtie darba rezultāti turpmāk varētu tikt izmantoti gaidīšanas ilguma samazināšanai uz ehokardiogrāfijas izmeklējumu gan konkrētajā medicīnas iestādē, gan daļēji arī citās medicīnas iestādēs. Tāpat darba rezultāti var tikt izmantoti gan konkrētās medicīnas iestādes, gan daļēji arī citu medicīnas iestāžu kvalitātes kritēriju pilnveidošanai un uzlabošanai. Federa, Linda. The aim of this work is to assess patients' satisfaction with the echocardiography examination received by Ltd. “Cardiology Private Practice” and to develop proposals for its improvement. With the help of this work, the author wants to update the significance of echocardiography examinations in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, identifying the current situation in the country and in the world by identifying mortality rates from cardiovascular diseases. The author compares the waiting time for an echocardiography examination in various medical institutions in the Riga region, both in the private sector and in those in a contractual relationship with the country. Patient questionnaires are also used in the development of the work as a tool for evaluating the quality of services. The tasks of the master's thesis are several. The primary tasks related to the practical part of the study are to find out the waiting time for echocardiography examination in Riga region medical institutions and to compare it with Ltd. “Cardiology Private Practice”, as well as to find out the patients' opinion about the quality of services provided by Ltd. “Cardiology Private Practice” and to prepare recommendations for the improvement of the quality of the echocardiography examinations provided by Ltd. “Cardiology Private Practice”. In order to improve quality, the following research question is answered in the work: "Which satisfaction factors correlate the most with each other?" In the course of the work, the main problems of quality assessment of SIA “Kardioloģijas Privātprakse” are identified - “patients' dissatisfaction with the waiting time until the consultation” and “finding a way to a specific medical institution”. Also, in the course of the work, the factors of patient satisfaction that are most correlated with each other are identified: “satisfaction with communication and satisfaction with treatment”, “satisfaction with communication and satisfaction with information”, “satisfaction with communication and satisfaction with service”, “ satisfaction with treatment and satisfaction with expectations ”. The obtained results could be further used to reduce the waiting time for an echocardiography examination both in the particular medical institution and partly in other medical institutions. Purpose COVID-19 pandemic represents a novel challenge for healthcare systems, and it affects even the daily urological practice. Italy was the first country after China to experience a lock-down period. Our objective is to determine whether, during the COVID-19 period, there has been any modification in urological emergencies. Methods we retrospectively reviewed urgent urological consultations requested by the Emergency Department (ED) of Padua University Hospital in the 36-day period between February 22nd and March 30th, 2020 and compared them to the prior year cases within a similar time frame (February 24th to March 31st, 2019). Background and aim: The incidence of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) is an important indicator of the quality of care. The behaviors associated with the prevention of infections are not only supported by rational knowledge or motivation, but are mediated by social, emotional and often stereotyped behaviors. The awarness of the good practices related to HAI, may be a factor. Other studies, identify how the perception of the problem in healthcare professionals is often influenced by a tendency towards an external Locus of Control: the patient, the family, the other wards, other care settings. The aim of this study is to investigate the perception of healthcare professionals. In particular they have been measured their awarness of the good practices , perceptions of the potential contamination level of some commonly used objects, knowledge about the management of invasive devices, Locus of Control. Method: A cross-sectional correlational design was utilized. An ad hoc questionnaire was interviewed by 222 health professionals nurses and physicians in a northern hospital of Italy. Results: The percentage of professionals who have attended training courses over the last 5 years was quite high, both for upgrades on HAI (78.7%) and Vascular Catheters (78.8%), while the percentage of professionals who updated on bladder catheterization (59.46%) was lower. The mean score of good practice awareness towards HAI (5.06), is high. The perception of the potential level of contamination of some devices had a mean ranging from 4.62 (for the drip) to 5.26 (for the door handle). The average value of the Locus of Control (43.54) indicates that participants demonstrated a value that is midway between External and Internal. The correlation test analysis revealed no significant relationships among professionals’age, knowledge about HAI, or infection related venus catheter. Also, results revealed that there were statistically significant positive relationships between professionals’ Good Practices awareness about HAI, Knowledge, and Locus of Control. Conclusion: The study findings demonstrated that good practice awareness towards HAI among nurse and physician was good but not completely optimal. Findings revealed that knowledge toward HAI prevention and HAI related device prevention were not completely adequate. The educational courses, according to our correlational findings, should definitely take into account the psycho-social aspects of this phenomenon.

The problem of poor systematic support of the stage of ideation in practical engineering design is addressed. Mathematical modelling of process’s dynamics is used to generate alternative architecture of a technological unit. The approach is applied to the design of mixing-averaging complex, where the analysis of statistical dynamics equations paves the road to new design concepts. The parametric analysis and optimization of new solution demonstrates potential benefits and savings. The study suggests an iterative scheme of conceptual design, where quantitative and qualitative design tools work together.

A continuum of managed care options has evolved reflecting differing health care market characteristics. Alternative health plans are increasing, outdistancing the "gold standard" staff model HMOs. A dizzying array of options, however, has led to considerable confusion. Direct contracting has evolved as a way for employers to understand what they are paying for and to managed costs. Increases in managed care, and a degree of financial distress, will encourage the development of integrated networks. National reform is unlikely to convert today's loosely structured system to a fully integrated system overnight, but will stimulate managed care in markets sooner than otherwise expected.

Pollutants of River Lambro, a tributary River Po, were monitored by their potential to induce 1A1 isoform of cytochrome P450 in the FaO hepatoma cell line. Extracts of water samples taken during different months over about one year were fractionated by reverse phase HPLC technique. Six fractions of decreasing polarity were collected, concentrated, freeze-dried and suspended in DMSO for the treatment of the cells. Aliquots of such suspensions were dissolved in the growth medium and left for 48 h in contact with FaO cells, that were maintained in 24-well plates. Cellular monolayers were also exposed to a mixture of the six fractions, to evaluate the effects of all the pollutants mixed together in the original water sample. The CYP1A1-dependent ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activity was fluorimetrically detected as a measure of inducing potential, and total protein content was evaluated as cytotoxicity end-point. The results showed significant increases of EROD activity over the controls in nearly all the fractions with marked reduction of viability only in two of the mixed samples. The effects of the mixtures were not simply additive, thus suggesting both synergistic and antagonistic interactions. The potential utility of this simple and fast bioassay in environmental risk/hazard assessment is clearly apparent.

Hepatoma cells are less susceptible to oxidative stress than normal hepatocytes: the decreased content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in such cells decreases their capability to undergo lipid peroxidation (Gravela et al., 1975; Canuto et al., 1991; Cheeseman et al., 1988; Feo et al., 1975; Canuto et al., 1994; Masotti et al., 1988). A consequence of this is the reduced production of aldehydes inside the cells (Poli et al., 1986). Depending on the quantity present, aldehydes have several effects on the cells. In particular, the effects of 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), an important aldehyde produced by lipid peroxidation, have been studied (Esterbauer et al., 1991). At μM concentrations, the effects are positive: adenylate cyclase and phospholipase C are stimulated (Paradisi et al., 1985; Garramone et al., 1988) and differentiation is induced in HL-60 cells (Barrera et al., 1991). At higher concentrations, 4-HNE is cytotoxic (Esterbauer et al., 1991; Canuto et al., 1995).

DNA fragmentation was measured by the alkaline elution technique and DNA repair synthesis by quantitative autoradiography. A 20 h exposure to subtoxic concentrations ranging from 0.056 to 032 mM produced a dose-dependent frequency of DNA breaks in rat hepatocytes and in hepatocytes from four of five human donors, but not in mouse hepatocytes. DNA repair induction was absent in hepatocytes from all three species. The reduction in the frequency of DNA breaks observed in rat hepatocytes simultaneously exposed to metyrapone suggests that aHCH is transformed into reactive species by a cytochrome P450-dependent reaction. The detection of DNA fragmentation but not of DNA repair synthesis may be tentatively explained by assuming that a-HCH behaves as a chemical eliciting short patch DNA repair, which is more easily revealed as genotoxic by the occurrence of DNA singlestrand breaks.

RESUMO Este artigo se dedica a demonstrar que a historiografia da dança no Brasil ao emoldurar e explicar as obras do Ballet Stagium a partir do contexto social e subsidiado por uma episteme dicotômica, culminou no abandono das políticas específicas da dança. O objetivo do texto é analisar táticas políticas específicas ao fazer artístico da dança, empregadas pela companhia durante a década de 1970. Para tanto, a investigação se dedica às obras Quebradas do mundaréu e Kuarup..., no intuito de restituir a elas seu potencial de atuação politizada no contexto no qual foram produzidas, sem estarem sucumbidas à política governamental. O estudo recorre a fontes históricas e orientado por teorias e debates existentes no campo dos estudos de dança, dos estudos culturais e da filosofia política. RÉSUMÉ Cet article est dédié à démontrer que l'historiographie de la danse au Brésil, encadrant et expliquant les œuvres de Ballet Stagium à partir du contexte social et subventionnées par une épistémé dichotomique, a abouti à l'abandon de politiques spécifiques de la danse. L'objectif du texte est d'analyser les tactiques politiques spécifiques de la danse artistique, employées par la compagnie dans les années 1970. Pour ce faire, la recherche est consacrée aux œuvres Quebradas do mundaréu et Kuarup..., afin de redonner leur potentiel à d’action politisée dans le contexte dans lequel elles ont été produites, sans céder à la politique gouvernementale. L'étude s'appuie sur des sources historiques et est guidée par des théories et des débats existant dans le domaine des études de danse, des études culturelles et de la philosophie politique. Tripes estão entre os insetos prejudiciais ao cultivo da banana no Brasil, normalmente depreciando o aspecto externo dos frutos pela formação de manchas ou erupções em sua casca, em consequência da sua alimentação. Este trabalho faz o primeiro relato de Frankliniella brevicaulis Hood (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) em plantio comercial de banana comprida (cv. D'Angola) no estado do Acre. Devido à falta de informações acerca dos impactos econômicos e distribuição geográfica dessa espécie de tripes, pesquisas nesse enfoque são fortemente recomendas no Estado. This work makes the first report of Frankliniella brevicaulis Hood (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) in a commercial plantation of 'banana comprida' plantain (cv. D'Angola) in the state of Acre, Brazil. The conditions of output stability of the closed-loop systems and their synchronization are established in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). An example of Chua's circuit is considered for examining the effectiveness of our proposed results. A designing method of feedback gains is also introduced.

A atrazina é um dos agrotóxicos mais utilizados no Brasil e possui grande tendência a contaminar águas superficiais e subterrâneas. Logo, o objetivo do estudo foi realizar uma revisão bibliográfica para verificar a ocorrência da atrazina em águas superficiais, subterrâneas e tratadas no Brasil e sua remoção durante o tratamento de água para consumo humano. Para tanto, buscaram-se na literatura trabalhos científicos publicados entre os anos de 2000 e 2017 que trataram sobre a presença do composto nas matrizes supracitadas. Para a análise da remoção da atrazina em água buscaram-se trabalhos que empregaram processos como tratamento convencional, ozonização, fotólise, adsorção, nanofiltração, entre outros. Utilizaram-se como plataformas de pesquisa o Periódicos Capes, Google Acadêmico e Science Direct. Analisaram-se 36 trabalhos referentes a presença do composto em águas no Brasil e 43 sobre sua remoção da água. Observou-se nos trabalhos revisados, frequências de detecção da atrazina da ordem de 8% para águas superficiais e 12% para subterrâneas, além de sua ocorrência em valores superiores ao VMP em ambas as matrizes. Em águas tratadas a presença, bem como concentração da atrazina foi reportada em dois estudos, porém em concentrações inferiores à máxima permitida. O tratamento de ciclo completo é ineficaz para a remoção da atrazina. Sendo assim, é necessária a associação de outros processos ao tratamento convencional, dentre os quais citam-se: a adsorção em carvão ativado, ozonização, nanofiltração, osmose inversa e processos oxidativos avançados. Porém, é importante se atentar á conversão dos contaminantes a subprodutos que, assim como seus precursores, podem apresentar toxicidade.
