In this paper, a rolling planning model for high proportion renewable energy generation power systems is proposed, considering frequency security constraints, to address the frequency stability challenges posed by increased integration of wind and solar energy into the power grid under the "double carbon" goal. First, this study establishes a frequency response model for a thermal generation unit (TGU) and analyzes the impact of the high proportion of renewable energy on system frequency stability. Subsequently, a dynamic frequency security constraint is formulated, which can be used in generation planning to address the frequency issues. Second, a bi-level rolling planning model for high proportion renewable energy generation power systems considering dynamic frequency security constraints is established. The upper level focuses on investment decisions. The lower level incorporates frequency security constraints into the operational simulation to guarantee the frequency stability of the power system when making decisions on the size of newly built TGUs annually. During the fault period, a phase angle jump may occur at the stator or the point of common coupling, which will deteriorate the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) characteristics of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The existing LVRT studies focus on the impact of a voltage drop on DFIGs but often ignore that of a phase angle jump. The time-domain simulation is accurate in describing the response of a DFIG during the LVRT process, but it is time-consuming for a DFIG with the full-order model. In this paper, by using the voltage magnitude and phase angle of the stator or the point of common coupling as the inputs, and the state variables as the outputs, the transfer function of a DFIG is derived to analyze its response and find the LVRT measures against the voltage drop and, especially, the phase angle jump. Firstly, the differential-algebraic equations of the DFIG are linearized to propose their transfer function model. Secondly, considering its high-order characteristic, a model reduction method for the transfer function of the DFIG using the Schur decomposition is proposed, and the analytical expression of the output variables of the DFIG with the phase angle jump is derived by the inverse Laplace transformation to judge the necessity of the LVRT measures. Finally, the simulation results of the DFIG are provided to verify the accuracy of the transfer function model and its reduced-order form and validate the feasibility of the LVRT against the phase angle jump with the proposed models. The doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is vulnerable to overcurrent at the stator winding and overvoltage at the DC link due to voltage drop after the grid fault. The large wind farm may have a capacity of several million MWs, whose tripping yields a notable power imbalance and frequency drop in the power systems, which may be avoided by the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) strategies implemented with the hardware or software. The latter has the merits of low cost and easy to realize, thus studied in this paper. Considering the grid fault uncertainty and DFIG parameters' correlation, this paper newly introduces the sliding mode structure into the passive control to improve the performance of the inner current control loop of the rotor-side converter (RSC), thus proposing a passive sliding mode control (P-SMC) based RSC control strategy to improve the LVRT capability of the DFIG. The time domain analysis with different fault severities, i.e., voltage drops, at the point of public coupling (PCC) is performed. The simulation results with the P-SMC control or not are obtained and compared to verify the control effect and the robustness of the proposed LVRT strategy. A multi-stage planning method for independent energy storage (IES) based on dynamically updating key transmission sections (KTS) is proposed to address issues such as uneven power flow distribution and transmission congestion resulting from the high penetration of renewable energy sources and load growth. First, an IES planning model considering KTS constraints is established by searching and updating the KTS and associated constraints. This model takes into account IES investment and operation costs, maintenance costs, revenue from spot price differences, and penalties for system congestion. Then, a multi-stage planning method for energy storage is proposed based on the dynamic updating of KTS and the annual planning results. To verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method, a case study simulation is conducted using the improved IEEE 39-bus New England standard system. The results demonstrate the ability of the method to achieve multi-stage rolling optimization of IES, providing a reference for future efforts toward multi-stage planning of IES.
