Nitric oxide (NO) has aroused wide interest in the treating infected wounds due to its characteristic functionalities. However, its utilization is limited due to its volatile properties, high reactivity, direct potential toxicity, and byproducts of NO donors limited its application. Herein, endogenously NO donor S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO) was connected covalently to polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA-GSNO NPs) to minimize the loss of NO in aqueous medium. Meanwhile, near-infrared (NIR)-controlled NO release and photothermal therapy (PTT) was obtained through the photothermal conversion by PDA. Then chitosan (CS)/gelatin (GE) biocomposite hydrogel films with preferable biocompatibility, surface hydrophilicity, hydroabsorptivity, and mechanical adhesive properties were constructed. By embedding PDA-GSNO NPs into the films, a multifunctional wound dressing was fabricated. Under NIR light irradiation, the combination of PTT, NO-releasing, and CS antibacterial agents can strengthen the in vitro antimicrobial efficacy and in vivo wound healing activities. Meanwhile, the obtained wound dressing presented good biocompatibility. This work outlines an approach for combating bacterial infections and demonstrating the possibility for synergistic NO-releasing wound healing.

H2S selective catalytic oxidation technology is a prospective way for the treatment of low concentration acid gas with simple process operation and low investment. However, undesirable results such as large formation of SO2 and catalyst deactivation inevitably occur, due to the temperature rise of fixed reaction bed caused by the exothermic reaction. Catalyst with high activity in wide operating temperature window, especially in high temperature range, is urgently needed. In this paper, a series of copper-substituted hexaaluminate catalysts (LaCux, x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5) were prepared and investigated for the H2S selective oxidation reaction at high temperature conditions (300-550°C). The LaCu1 catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic performance and great stability, which was attributed to the best reductive properties and proper pore structure. Besides, two facile deep processing paths were proposed to eliminate the remaining H2S and SO2 in the tail gas.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Luminal glucose enhances intestinal Ca2+ absorption through apical Cav 1.3 channels necessary for GLUT2-mediated glucose absorption. As these reciprocal mechanisms are not well understood, we investigated the regulatory mechanisms of intestinal [Ca2+ ]cyt and SGLT1-mediated Na+ -glucose co-transports. EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH Glucose absorption and channel expression were examined in mouse upper jejunal epithelium using an Ussing chamber, immunocytochemistry and Ca2+ and Na+ imaging in single intestinal epithelial cells. KEY RESULTS Glucose induced jejunal Isc via Na+ -glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1) operated more efficiently in the presence of extracellular Ca2+ . A crosstalk between luminal Ca2+ entry via plasma Cav 1.3 channels and the ER Ca2+ release through ryanodine receptor (RYR) activation in small intestinal epithelial cell (IEC) or Ca2+ -induced Ca2+ release (CICR) mechanism was involve in Ca2+ -mediated jejunal glucose absorption. The ER Ca2+ release through RyR triggered basolateral Ca2+ entry or store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) mechanism and the subsequent Ca2+ entry via Na+ /Ca2+ exchanger 1 (NCX1) were found to be critical in Na+ -glucose cotransporter-mediated glucose absorption. Blocking RyR, SOCE and NCX1 inhibited glucose induced [Na+ ]cyt and [Ca2+ ]cyt in single IEC and protein expression and co-localization of STIM1/Orai1, RyR1 and NCX1 were detected in IEC and jejunal mucosa. CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS Luminal Ca2+ influx through Cav 1.3 triggers the CICR through RyR1 to deplete the ER Ca2+ , which induces the basolateral STIM1/Orai1-mediated SOCE mechanism and the subsequent Ca2+ entry via NCX1 to regulate intestinal glucose uptake via Ca2+ signalling. Targeting these mechanisms in IEC may help to modulate blood glucose and sodium in the metabolic disease.

Mental health disorders such as stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia caused by COVID-19 have attracted worldwide attention. Traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) have been proven to be a safe and effective option for treating mental health disorders. Recently, after assessing its efficacy and safety fully, the Netherlands Medicines Evaluation Board approved XiaoYao Tablets as a traditional herbal medicinal product (THMP), indicated for an alternative self-care for patients in Europe to relieve the symptoms of mental stress and exhaustion. Despite the fact that TCMs have gradually become one of the therapeutic choices worldwide, to-date, only a few TCMs have been successfully registered in the European Union (EU) as THMPs, and XiaoYao Tablets is the first successfully registered combination TCM from China. In this article, traditional use efficacy and clinical safety of XiaoYao Tablets in the treatment of mental health disorders were summarized and analyzed from the perspective of traditional use registration (TUR). Additionally a safety evolution pathway of combination TCMs was established. This article will not only seek to enhance our understanding about traditional use efficacy and clinical safety of XiaoYao Tablets, but also summarize the experience of XiaoYao Tablets as the first successfully registered combination TCM from China, which could serve as role model for the others to overcome registration difficulties in the EU.

A series of iron supported on Zr-intercalated clay composite catalysts with mesoporous structure, a high specific surface area, and high thermal stability were successfully synthesized (named Fe/Zr-Lap catalysts) and tested for H2S selective oxidation. The structural characteristics and physicochemical properties of the catalysts were investigated using various methods. The iron species existed mainly as isolated Fe3+ and polymeric (FeO)n species in an octahedral coordination. All of the Fe/Zr-Lap catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity at relatively low temperatures (120–200 °C). The 8% Fe/Zr-Lap catalyst presented the best catalytic performance at 180 °C. It is likely that highly dispersed iron species, abundant chemically adsorbed oxygen vacancies, synergistic effect of iron and zirconium species, and improved reducibility played important roles in the reaction. Besides, the reaction and deactivation mechanisms were also proposed.

A one-pot two-step protocol for the direct synthesis of boron-handled glycol derivatives is reported. The procedure starts by an NHC–boryl-radical-promoted regioselective hydroboration of glycol-protected cinnamaldehydes. After that, the reaction mixture is treated with pinacol in the presence of HCl, leading to the direct formation of pinacol boronate handled glycol monoalkyl ethers. In this acid-triggered conversion, a reductive ring-opening of glycol-derived acetal moiety takes place, during which an NHC–borane unit serves as the hydride source.

A method for the selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia at high temperature was innovatively proposed to substitute the traditional combustion method to remove the ammonia impurity in the Claus process. In the present work, transition metal (Fe, Cu Co, and Mn)-substituted La-hexaaluminate catalysts were synthesized and investigated for the selective catalytic oxidation of ammonia (NH3-SCO) at high temperature. It was observed that Cu-substituted catalysts could achieve the highest N2 yield at around 520 °C. It was confirmed that the conversion of NH3 was closely related to the reducibility of the prepared catalyst. In particular, it was observed that the molecular O2 could not be dissociatively adsorbed on the prepared catalyst surface. However, both lattice oxygen and gas-phase O2 could participate in NH3-SCO, with gas-phase O2 being the most favorable under the experimental conditions. It was evidenced that the NH3-SCO reaction over the prepared catalysts followed the i-SCR mechanism. Moreover, monodentate nitrates were the main reactive intermediates toward forming N2. Therefore, the development of high-temperature SCO technology and an efficient catalyst are beneficial for the sustainable development of the chemical industry.

Process parameters are important factors affecting cutting efficiency. In order to get the best process parameters and improve the cutting efficiency, the relationship between the process parameters and cutting efficiency is studied and analyzed in this paper. Cutting efficiency can be expressed by the volume of material removed per unit time. At the beginning of the jet, the width of the slit is equal to the diameter of the abrasive nozzle. Then the cutting depth can represent the cutting efficiency.

MnxAlO mixed oxide catalysts derived from MnxAl-LDHs were prepared and tested for acetone catalytic oxidation. Detailed results indicated that the surface intrinsic and formed oxygen vacancies can induce the Mn-O bond of structural unit [MnO6] weakened. Subsequently, it can improve the redox properties of catalysts, and enhance the capacity of gaseous oxygen species dissociation and adsorption. Among them, Mn3AlO catalyst displayed the best catalytic performance for acetone oxidation (T90 = 164 °C) with the production of low amount of byproduct ( 99%) producted. Additionally, the Mn3AlO catalyst can proceed consecutively for 12 h reaction without notable deactivation. Furthermore, in situ DRIFT and theoretical calculations methods was adopted to explore the reaction mechanism. And η1(O)(ads) (adsorption mode of acetone), CH2=C(CH3)=O(ads), O*, CH3CHO*, CH2O* and COO(ads) were considered as the main intermediate species and/or transient state during the reaction process. It was revealed that the acetone and oxygen molecules were activated by the dehydrogenation (α-H abstraction) and dissociation process over Mn3AlO catalyst, respectively, and then the intermediate specie, CH2 C(CH3) O and O*, were produced, which was followed by the breaking of C C bonds to produce the CH3CHO* and CH2O* species. Finally, these species were attacked by dissociated oxygen (O*) and therefore further dehydrogenation occurred, form H2O and CO2 via the COO adsorbed species. Particularly, C C bond breaking was the main rate determining step for acetone oxidation.

Weaning is a critical period for the growth and development of mammals, in which various physiological and biochemical indicators of the body have undergone great changes. The development, differentiation, and maturation of the nervous system are regulated by many proteins. Changes in related proteins affect the physiological functions of the nervous system. However, the regulation of selfrenewal and differentiation of the nervous system at this stage is still poorly understood. The mechanism of differentiation and regulation of the major proteins in the nervous system during this special period of weaning remains to be investigated. Therefore, this paper aims to summarize the alteration of the nervous system during weaning and provide the basis for subsequent research.

Patients with cervical cancer have abnormal cell proliferation and invasion after many years of latency. However, the precise mechanisms remain unclear. Mitogen- and stress-activated kinase 2 (MSK2) is a serine/threonine kinase which displays a phenotype that promotes tumor growth and metastasis in many different types of tumors. The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of MSK2 on the proliferation of cervical cancer cells and elucidate the signaling pathways through which MSK2 exerts its effects in the pathogenesis of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Our results confirmed that MSK2 expression was significantly upregulated in cervical cancer cells both in vivo and in vitro. We further found that the expression patterns of paired-box gene 8 (PAX8) and MSK2 were positively correlated in cervical cancer specimens. Moreover, MSK2 knockdown inhibited the phosphorylation of PAX8 and retinoblastoma protein (RB), and suppressed the sequential expressions of cell proliferation factors E2F1 and cyclin A2, resulting in the inhibition of SCC cell proliferation and tumor formation. Thus, this study demonstrates that MSK2 has oncogenic effects in the formation and development of SCC via the PAX8/RB-E2F1/cyclin A2 axis.

Deepwater exploration has been developed for more than 40 years since 1975; generally, its exploration history can be divided into the beginning stage (1975–1984), the early stage (1985–1995) and the rapid development stage (1996-now). Currently, deepwater areas have become the hotspot of global oil and gas exploration, and they are also one of the most important fields of oil and gas increase in reserves and production all over the world. In 40 years, global deepwater oil and gas discoveries are mainly distributed along five deepwater basin groups which are characterized by “three vertical and two horizontal” groups: (1) In deepwater basins of the Atlantic Ocean, giant discoveries of oil are mainly concentrated in Brazil, West Africa and the Gulf of Mexico, and significant discoveries of natural gas are mainly on the west coast of Norway in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean; (2) In deepwater basins of the East African continental margin, a group of giant gas fields has been found in the Rovuma Basin and Tanzania Basin; (3) In deepwater basins of the West Pacific Ocean, giant discoveries of oil and gas are mainly concentrated in the South China Sea and Southeast Asian waters; (4) The deepwater basins of the Neo-Tethys Region are rich in gas, and the most important gas discoveries are mainly distributed in the northwest shelf of Australia and the eastern Mediterranean; and (5) In deepwater basins around the Arctic Pole, major discoveries of oil and gas have been only found in deepwater areas of the Barents sea. Global deepwater oil resources are mainly concentrated in the middle and south sections of the Atlantic Ocean. Deepwater gas resources are relatively widely spread and mainly distributed in the northern part of Atlantic Ocean deepwater basins, the deepwater basins of East Africa, the deepwater basins of the Neo-Tethys region and the deepwater basins around the Arctic Pole. There will be six domains for future oil-gas exploration of global deepwater basins which are characterized by “two old and four new” domains; specifically, “two old” domains referring to the Atlantic offshore deepwater basins and offshore deepwater basins of the Neo-Tethys structural domain, where the exploration degree is relatively high, and the potential is still great. While the “four new” domains stand for pre-salt and ultra deepwater basin formations, offshore deepwater basins surrounding the North Pole area and West Pacific offshore deepwater basins and the new fields will be the main fields of deepwater oil and gas exploration in the future. Herein, we explore a new carbon source for preparation of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) with controllable composition using a porous organic polymer (POP) derived porous carbon via a nitric acid oxidation method. The POP used for the preparation of CQDs was synthesized by mechanochemical Friedel–Crafts alkylation under solvent free conditions. Using the as-prepared CQDs, we develop a simple and effective electrochemiluminescence (ECL) detection method for dopamine (DA) using a CQD/chitosan–graphene composite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Both the electrochemical and ECL behaviors were studied in detail with ammonium persulfate as a coreactant. The complementary structure and synergistic function of the composite give the ECL sensor special properties. Apart from the high stability, it also presents good repeatability and high sensitivity to DA with a wide linear range from 0.06 to 1.6 μM. And a satisfactory detection limit of 0.028 μM (S/N = 3) was achieved for the prepared sensor. Furthermore, the ECL also shows high selectivity toward DA with an excellent interference resistance ability at a high concentration ratio of 100 (Cinterference : CDA = 100). In addition, the ECL sensor was successfully applied for effective detection and quantitative analysis of the actual dopamine in human body fluids for disease diagnosis and pathological studies.

In China, gastric cancer (GC) ranks first in the incidence of all malignant tumors. With high recurrence and distant metastasis, GC has caused considerable mortalities. LncRNA long intergenic non-protein-coding RNA 668 (LINC00668) has been reported to be upregulated in GC cells and predict poor prognosis of GC patients. However, the mechanism of LINC00668 has not been fully investigated in GC. This study aimed to investigate the role of LINC00668 in GC. We found that LINC00668 level was upregulated in GC tissue and cells and predicted poor prognosis. Functionally, LINC00668 knockdown suppressed GC cell migration and invasion. Additionally, LINC00668 knockdown inhibited epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. PKN2 exerts similar effects with LINC00668 in GC cells. LINC00668 knockdown suppressed tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. Mechanistically, HuR was predicted to bind with LINC00668 and protein kinase N2 (PKN2). RNA pull-down assays validated the binding between HuR and LINC00668 (or PKN2). Moreover, either silencing of LINC00668 or HuR could decrease PKN2 mRNA stability or reduce PKN2 mRNA and protein levels. Furthermore, PKN2 expression was positively correlated with LINC00668 expression and HuR expression in GC tissues, and HuR expression was positively associated with LINC00668 expression in GC tissues. Finally, rescue assays confirmed that the suppressive effect of LINC00668 silencing on cell migration, invasion, and EMT process was reversed by PKN2 overexpression or HuR upregulation. In conclusion, LINC00668 cooperated with HuR-dependent upregulation of PKN2 to facilitate gastric cancer metastasis, which may provide a potential novel insight for GC treatment.

A series of La1−xCexFeO3 perovskite catalysts were synthesized using a citrate sol-gel method and examined for H2S selective catalytic oxidation reaction. It was demonstrated that the catalysts exhibited prominent catalytic activity, outstanding sulfur selectivity (nearly 100%) and particularly low apparent activation energy. Remarkably, it can proceed consecutively for 70 h without notable deactivation. Moreover, Ce and Fe were mainly existed in the form of LaCeFeO3 perovskite-type oxides as well as Ce-Fe solid solution. Significantly, catalysts reducibility was improved greatly due to the strongly Ce-Fe synergetic effect. More importantly, a proper substitution of Ce can enhance surface basic properties and facilitate the formation of oxygen vacancies on the catalyst surface, and hence improve H2S adsorbability and lattice oxygen mobility, respectively. It cooperating with the improved reducibility jointly contributed to the excellent catalytic performance. Furthermore, the reaction obeyed a redox mechanism and the catalyst deactivation was due mainly to the formation of sulfate species. Additionally, the added water can lead to the establishment of the reverse Claus reaction, causing the decrease of catalytic performance.

Development of a simple, fast, cost-efficient and sensitive approach for accurate protein analysis is of high significance due to its potential application in disease diagnosis and biomedicine research. Thus, we established a label-free fluorescence DNA walker for streptavidin detection based on terminal protection and dual enzyme assisted cleavage induced G-quadruplex/berberine conformation. In this paper, the swing arm probe and report probe were pre-assembled on gold nanoparticles. With the addition of a target, through the high-efficiency affinity between streptavidin and biotin in order to prevent the hydrolysis of exonuclease I, the swing arm probe which contains 8-17 DNAzyme cannot be destroyed and plays a role in the catalytic cleavage of the report probe, and the liberating fragment of the report probe which contains a specific sequence (5'-(TTAGGG)4) of G-quadruplex units can combine with berberine and shows an evident fluorescence signal enhancement. Our method, a sensitive and selective method of protein detection, achieves a 20 pM detection limit toward streptavidin. This developed DNA walker, which combines terminal protection and a dual enzyme assisted strategy, provides a prospective channel for streptavidin detection and should also be used for the design of biosensors in bio-detection and disease diagnosis.

A series of new transitional metal charge-transfer (CT) complexes with a bipyridinium-based ligand [M(PrBpy)2(SCN)4] (M = Cd(II), Ni(II), Co(II)) and [Cu(PrBpy)(SCN)3(H2O)] (PrBpyCl = N-(2-pyrazinyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium chloride) have been obtained and determined by X-ray diffraction, FT-IR and elemental analysis. The CT absorption bands of the four compounds were observed by diffuse reflection spectroscopy and a photo-induced electron transfer occurs in methanol solution upon light irradiation.

A series of well-mixed Ce-containing MgAlCe rare earth catalysts derived from layered double hydroxides were synthesized and tested for H2S selective catalytic oxidation. Particularly, no chemisorption O-vacancies but intrinsic defect sites were present on catalyst surface. Significantly, the catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity, reasonable durability, and outstanding sulfur selectivity (100%) at relatively low temperatures. Furthermore, the catalyst followed a step-wise mechanism, and the catalyst deactivation was due mainly to the slower oxidation rate of Ce3+ to Ce4+ by O2 as compared to the reduction rate of Ce4+ to Ce3+ by H2S. Particularly, the added water, a Lewis base, can compete with inefficient S8 catalyst for the occupation of Lewis acid sites and active sites. Meanwhile, it can change the characteristics of catalyst surface, resulting in sulfur existing form transforming from inefficient S8 catalyst to inactive S3. Thus, lead to a decrease of deposited inefficient S8 catalyst content. Consequently, decrease the catalytic activity.

Sedimentary records of the North China Craton (NCC) between 1.8–0.8 Ga are indispensable for studying the evolution of the Earth’s surface ecosystem in the middle Proterozoic. Continuous late Paleoproterozoic successions (1.8–1.6 Ga) were found in the Xiong’er and Yanliao basins, which are located in the southern and northern margins of present NCC. The formation and evolution of these two basins were likely related to the breakup of Columbia supercontinent. With the deepening of research in recent years, the rifting and filling processes of these two basins are getting increasing attentions and controversies. Among them, a crucial controversy is the distribution of isochronous strata in these two basins, which is related to whether these two basins have ever been connected. In this study, we scrutinized the Paleoproterozoic successions in the Taihang Mountain area, which is located in the junction of the Xiong’er and Yanliao basins. The sedimentary distributions and overlaps indicated gradually transgression and northward extension of the Xiong’er Basin during 1.75–1.65 Ga, and demonstrated a temporary connection of the Xiong’er and Yanliao basins, at least during 1.67–1.64 Ga. We further estimated the maximum depositional ranges of the isochronous stratigraphic units and drew the evolutionary history of the Xiong’er and Yanliao basins in 1.8–1.6 Ga. These results will be helpful in further understanding the habitats of early life and predicting the distribution of mineral-containing sediments, such as iron ore and source rocks.

Fossil life in the Precambrian is commonly preserved as carbonaceous compressions, where Pre-Cryogenian carbonaceous compressions mainly occur in organic-poor rocks. Black-shale-preserved carbonaceous compressions have become more common since the Ediacaran Period. To explore the depositional context of carbonaceous compressions, micro X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (μ-XRF) was used to image elemental distributions in carbonaceous compressions and surrounding rocks in Mesoproterozoic and Ediacaran-aged rocks. The carbonaceous compressions preserved in the Xiamaling green silty mudstones (1.40 Ga) and Lantian black shales (0.63 Ga) were selected and scanned, respectively. The behavior of redox-sensitive elements (Mo, U, V, Zn, Cu) in the Xiamaling and Lantian rocks and carbonaceous compressions suggest that the overlying water conditions during their sedimentation were not sulfidic. However, the co-enrichments of Fe and S in Xiamaling and Lantian carbonaceous compressions indicate pyrite permineralization. The Lantian carbonaceous compressions have a higher pyrite permineralization degree and a lower organism decomposition degree than those of the Xiamaling carbonaceous compressions. We speculate that these differences are related to a higher sulfate reduction rate and a lower dissimilatory iron reduction rate in the sediments hosting the Lantian carbonaceous compressions. Such conditions might be achieved through rapid burial and encircling by clay minerals. Overall, our results shed new light on understanding the preservation processes of the Precambrian life and the influence of environmental factors.

The cytosolic calcium ([Ca2+]cyt) is one of the most important cell signaling that can modulate gastrointestinal (GI) epithelial secretion and promote GI mucosal wound repair. The GI mucosal bicarbonate secretion is the main mechanism of mucosal protection. Our research team has been working in this field and provided solid evidence for the important role of Ca2+ signaling in the regulation of GI epithelial secretion and the underlying molecular mechanisms. In this review, we attempt to systemically review the current status of our knowledge on the role of Ca2+ signaling in the regulation of intestinal bicarbonate secretion and in the upper GI epithelial protection. We expect that novel targets could be identified for drug development to better protect GI mucosa and treat mucosal injury with the advance in this filed.

We highlight the recent findings regarding the importance of estrogen and estrogen receptors in GI epithelia protection and body fluid balance by modulation of gastrointestinal epithelial HCO 3 - and Cl - secretion, especially current information about the regulatory mechanisms of duodenal HCO 3 - secretion based on our study in this field. Since there are no reviews on this topic but only few papers to address the main issues, we hope to timely provide new perspectives for the association between estrogen and GI disease.

An improved ammonia-based desulfurization technology was proposed, in which the produced excess NH4HSO3 was concentrated by using the heat from the Claus tail gas and then SO2 was recovered by decomposing the concentrated NH4HSO3 in the Claus furnace. Furthermore, the process was modeled and simulated using the commercial software Aspen Plus. The characteristics of the ammonia-based desulfurization model were validated and compared with experimental results. Moreover, the water balance in the system was maintained, therefore, no extra water was required. Under the water balance condition, the SO2 removal performance in the system was predicted with various operating conditions. The model exhibited a reliable prediction of the desulfurization performance of the innovative process, which will be favorable for actual industrial application.

Carbonyl sulfide (COS), the organic sulfur generated in the chemical industry, has been receiving more attention due to its environmental and economic influence. In this study N-doped MgAl-LDO catalyst was successfully prepared and tested for the COS hydrolysis reaction at low temperature, it was observed that the N species can be formed both in surface and bulk. Moreover, the basicity property and the H2O adsorption–desorption property were remarkably improved due to the N-doping. Besides, the hydroxyl group can be formed more easily and more abundantly on N modified catalyst surface, which was beneficial to the COS adsorption and the remarkable improvement of catalytic performance. The catalytic hydrolysis performance can proceed for almost 1440 min without any deactivation at 70 °C. However, further increase of temperature was not beneficial to improve the catalytic performance due to the occurrence of H2S oxidation side reaction. Furthermore, it was revealed that the surface hydroxyl groups were responsible for the adsorption of COS and then the formed surface transitional species reacted with the H2O molecules. Hydrogen thiocarbonate and bicarbonate were the main reaction intermediate. The rate-determining step was IM6→IM7 i.e., a type transformation of bicarbonate.

In the Yanliao Basin of the North China Craton, the Mesoproterozoic Xiamaling Formation contacted unconformably with the underlying Tieling Formation. This unconformity was caused by the Qinyu Uplift. Underneath this unconformity, the Tieling Formation experienced variably weathering with more extensive erosion of carbonates in the west than in the northeast of the basin. To constrain the timing of the Qinyu Uplift and the duration of subsequent unconformity, cyclostratigraphic analysis was conducted on the Tieling carbonate rocks. Referencing the periodicities of the eccentricity, obliquity and precession obtained from the Mesoproterozoic Xiamaling and Hongshuizhuang Formations, Milankovitch cycles during the Tieling Formation were recognized. A bentonite located at the middle of the Tieling Formation was recognized from the core at the Beizhangzi section, and was considered to be contemporaneous with those found at the Jixian and Liujiagou sections, which had a consistent age of 1441 Ma. Then a deposition rate from the bentonite layer to the top interface of the Tieling Formation was calculated to be 1.65 ± 0.22 cm kyr−1, and the duration time were ca. 9 million years. So the minimum age of the Tieling Formation was ca. 1432 Ma. Combined with our new 207Pb/206Pb weighted average age of 1418 ± 14 Ma obtained from the bottom of the Xiamaling Formation, the Qinyu Uplift was constrained to occur between 1432 Ma and 1418 Ma, older than the previously suggested age of 1400 Ma. The duration of this unconformity was suggested to be no less 14 million years, and might be longer in the western part.

The effects of low pressure and abnormally low pressure on reservoir diagenesis and physical property of the Paleocene in southern part of Western Sag of Liaohe Depression, Bohai Bay Basin have been analyzed using large amounts of pressure, physical property and formation testing data. When formation pressure is low or abnormally low, the pore fluid has lower pressure, the overburden litho-static pressure is largely born by the sandstone framework, sometimes over compaction occurs, leading to densification of reservoir and stronger mechanical compaction; residual formation pressure has a negative correlation with carbonate cement content, low pressure or abnormally low pressure tight sandstone formations have higher carbonate cement content than sandstone formations with hydrostatic pressure or weak overpressure; pore fluid in sandstones with low pressure or abnormally low pressure has higher Si4+, conducive to the siliceous cementation; when dissolution happens, reservoirs with low pressure or abnormally low pressure, poor in original physical properties, are not favorable for the injection of dissolution fluid and the expulsion of dissolution products, so they have weaker dissolution. In summary, reservoirs with low pressure or abnormally low pressure have poorer physical properties.
