O presente trabalho propõe-se a avaliar o nível de disclosure das entidades regulamentadas pela Agência Nacional de Saúde Suplementar (ANS) sediadas no estado do Rio Grande do Norte, com a finalidade de evidenciar o uso das informações providas pela contabilidade como instrumento de transparência dessas instituições. Como metodologia, selecionou-se um conjunto de itens de divulgação obrigatória, embasados pela legislação e normas vigentes, pontuando as Operadoras de Planos de Saúde (OPS) mediante apresentação de cada item publicado, construindo assim o indicador de disclosure obrigatório (IDO), o qual foi utilizado para calcular o nível de disclosure das organizações analisadas. Os resultados revelaram que o nível de evidenciação das informações contábeis de natureza obrigatória foram insatisfatórios, em virtude da ausência de publicação dos dados por parte das entidades, da dificuldade de acesso a todos os usuários de uma maneira geral, em especial os externos, e mesmo por parte da ANS, notou-se uma certa debilidade em expor as informações relevantes aos beneficiários, por proporcionar o acesso parcial a esses dados, levando a concluir que tanto a transparência e a elucidação das informações econômico-financeiras quanto a facilidade de acesso de tais informes, não seriam uma prioridade das empresas, onde elas demonstram se restringir quanto a exposição de seus resultados financeiros. Esse estudo abre as portas para pesquisas futuras sobre a análise e mensuração não apenas relacionadas ao nível de disclosure, mas também a qualidade das informações evidenciadas, e a possibilidade de mensuração de outros indicadores como o nível de complience no setor da saúde suplementar.

This study evaluated the effect of experimental solutions containing plant extracts on bacterial species and enamel caries prevention. Microcosm biofilm was produced from human saliva mixed with McBain saliva (0.2% sucrose) on bovine enamel for 5 days (3 days under anaerobiosis and 2 days under aerobiosis) at 37°C. From the 2nd day, the following treatments were applied (1 × 60 s/day): Vochysia tucanorum (10 mg/mL); Myrcia bella (5 mg/mL); Matricaria chamomilla (80 mg/mL); Malva sylvestris, fluoride, and xylitol (Malvatricin Plus®); 0.12% chlorhexidine (CHX, PerioGard®); and PBS (negative control). The medium pH was measured. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction was performed for the detection of Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus spp. Enamel demineralization was measured by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography. The data were compared by means of the Kruskal-Wallis/Dunn, two-way ANOVA/Bonferroni, and ANOVA/Tukey tests (p < 0.05). The pH decreased after sucrose exposure; only CHX reestablished pH >5.5 by the last day. CHX also eliminated Lactobacillusspp., but the other treatments did not differ significantly from PBS. Malvatricin Plus® and CHX eliminated S. mutans, but the other treatments did not differ from PBS. Similar results were seen concerning the reduction of lesion depth and reflectivity. The experimental natural-extract solutions were ineffective against cariogenic bacteria and in preventing the development of enamel caries.

A Floresta Amazônica é a maior floresta tropical contígua do planeta e cobre cerca de 40% território brasileiro, vem passando por intenso processo de conversão de áreas florestais, principalmente, no arco do desmatamento que é uma área crítica com problemas ambientais como queimadas e desflorestamento. O município de Conceição do Araguaia-PA encontra-se nessa área crítica e apresenta-se como uma frente de expansão da atividade agropastoril na região. O objetivo do trabalho foi analisar temporalmente as mudanças de uso e cobertura da terra no município de Conceição do Araguaia. Para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foram utilizadas imagens do satélite Landsat-5/TM do ano de 1999 e 2009, e do satélite Landsat-8/OLI-TIRS do ano de 2019 processadas e classificadas na plataforma Google Earth Engine. A partir dos resultados obtidos constatou-se que entre os anos de 1999 e 2019 houve um desflorestamento de 22% no município em estudo, sendo que a atividade agropastoril obteve um aumentou de 14,6%. Com isto pode-se concluir que as condições edafoclimáticas favorecem o desenvolvimento da agropecuária e ela está diretamente ligada ao desflorestamento local, caracterizando-se como a principal matriz econômica do município.

No entanto, os pomares de Citrus são vulneráveis a patógenos, como por exemplo a bactéria gram-negativa Xanthomonas citri subsp citri (Xcc), agente causador do cancro cítrico. Algumas espécies são consideradas resistentes, todavia, estudos que associam metabólitos especializados à resistência, são escassos. Neste estudo, para identificar marcadores químicos relacionados à resistência, investigamos o metaboloma foliar de 17 variedades comerciais de Citrus com diferentes graus de suscetibilidade e resistência. Preparamos extratos foliares e analisamos por cromatografia líquida de ultra-eficiência acoplada a espectrometria de alta-resolução (UHPLC-HRMS/MS) utilizando um método genérico para se obter uma visão ampla do metaboloma. Variações no fingerprint químico foram investigadas através de análises multivariadas utilizando os dados de LC-MS1. Os dados de MS/MS foram organizados na forma de rede de moléculas evidenciando as famílias estruturais. Os compostos foram anotados na rede por meio de comparação dos espectros experimentais com uma base de espectros in silico de produtos naturais seguido de ponderação taxonômica dos candidatos. Marcadores químicos da resistência foram selecionados a partir de uma rede de moléculas multi-informativa, após a integração dos resultados estatísticos da metabolômica. Isto nos deu uma análise complementar à estatística clássica para a visualização de dados de metabolômica e seleção de marcadores químicos. Seguindo esta abordagem, anotamos 1618 compostos de Citrus, pertencentes a 112 classes químicas normalizadas via ClassyFire. Selecionamos 12 metabólitos como potenciais marcadores químicos de resistência para duas espécies: Citrus reticulata (Ponkan e Satsuma) e Citrus japonica (Kumquat), majoritariamente da classe dos flavonoides, sendo eles: 5,3'-dihidroxi-6,7,8,4'-tetrametoxiflavona, Isoscutelareina 7,8-dimetil éter, 4-O- (beta-D-glucopiranosil) -D-ribitol, Hesperetina 7- (2,6-diramnosilglucosídeo), Ácido 1,4-Dicafeoilquínico, 4,7-Dimetil-6,7-dihidro-5H-2-pirindina, 5,7,3'-trihidroxiflavona, Herclavina, Apigenina 7-O-neohesperidosídeo, 3,7 (11) -Eudesmadien-2-ona, Digicitrina, 2- (1,3-Benzodioxol-5-il) -5,7-di-hidroxi-4H-1-benzopiran-4-ona. Nosso fluxo de trabalho possibilitou verificar variações do metaboloma de várias espécies que puderam ser correlacionadas com a resistência à patógenos. Tais metabólitos podem ser utilizados como marcadores químicos para direcionar a seleção de novas variedades mais resistentes e como alvo de estudos para o desenvolvimento de novos produtos naturais para o controle do cancro cítrico. Citrus makes up one of the largest value-added agricultural products in Brazil, moving billions of dollars per year, fostering the country's economy and causing great social impact. However, Citrus orchards are vulnerable to pathogens, such as the gram-negative bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp citri (Xcc), the causative agent of citrus canker. Some species are considered resistant, however, studies associating specialized metabolites with resistance are scarce. In this study, to identify chemical markers related to resistance, we investigated the leaf metabolome of 17 commercial Citrus varieties with different degrees of susceptibility and resistance. We prepared leaf extracts and analyzed them by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS/MS) using a generic method to obtain a broad view of the metabolome. Variations in chemical fingerprinting were investigated by multivariate analysis using LC-MS1 data. The MS/MS data were organized in the form of a molecule network highlighting the structural families. Compounds were annotated in the network by comparing the experimental spectra with a base of in silico spectra of natural products followed by taxonomic weighting of candidates. Chemical markers of resistance were selected from a multi-informative molecule network after integration of statistical results from metabolomics. This gave us a complementary analysis to classical statistics for metabolomics data visualization and chemical marker selection. Following this approach, we annotated 1618 Citrus compounds, belonging to 112 chemical classes normalized via ClassyFire. Our workflow made it possible to verify variations in the metabolome of several species that could be correlated with pathogen resistance. Such metabolites can be used as chemical markers to direct the selection of new, more resistant varieties and as a target for studies to develop new natural products for the control of citrus canker.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2021-01-01 Myrcia bella Cambess (Myrtaceae) is an important and common plant, native to the Brazilian Cerrado, with cytotoxicity, antimicrobial, and antidiabetic properties. Therefore, the effects of crude hydroalcoholic extract (CE) and fractions of ellagitannins (ELT) and flavonoids (FV) from Myrcia bella leaves were evaluated in a UMR-106 murine osteosarcoma cells and MC3T3 (normal cell). Cell viability and migration, production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) −2 and −9 activities were evaluated. In general, CE (80 µg/mL), ELT (160 µg/mL) and FV (64 µg/mL) reduced cell viability (p < 0.05). FV (64 µg/mL) was more effective in inhibition of cell migration, ROS production, and MMP-2 activity when compared to CE and ELT. Myrcia bella a rich source of phenolic compounds and its fraction of flavonoids have cytotoxic effects on osteosarcoma cells, preserving the viability of normal osteoblasts. Due to its antioxidant capacity, flavonoid may be a new therapeutic strategy for cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the addition of xylooligosaccharide (XOS, 1.25 g/100 mL) on the pH, physicochemical composition, functional properties, volatile profile, rheological properties, and sensory acceptance of strawberry-flavored whey beverage. The addition of XOS resulted in whey beverages with better functional characteristics (greater antioxidant activity, ACE inhibitory activity, and ⍺-amylase and ⍺-glucosidase inhibition), rheological properties (higher viscosity), volatiles profile, and sensory acceptance (aroma, texture and overall liking), besides providing adequate concentrations of the prebiotic in the product (1.25 g/mL). XOS is an interesting ingredient to improve the functional potential of strawberry-flavored whey beverages.

Environmental conditions influence specialized plant metabolism. However, many studies aiming to understand these modulations have been conducted with model plants and/or under controlled conditions, thus not reflecting the complex interaction between plants and environment. To fully grasp these interactions, we investigated the specialized metabolism and genetic diversity of a native plant in its natural environment. We chose Myrcia bella due to its medicinal interest and occurrence in Brazilian savanna regions with diverse climate and soil conditions. An LC-HRMS-based metabolomics approach was applied to analyze 271 samples harvested across seven regions during the dry and rainy season. Genetic diversity was assessed in a subset of 40 samples using amplified fragment length polymorphism. Meteorological factors including rainfall, temperature, radiation, humidity, and soil nutrient and mineral composition were recorded in each region and correlated with chemical variation through multivariate analysis (MVDA). Marker compounds were selected using a statistically informed molecular network and annotated by dereplication against an in silico database of natural products. The integrated results evidenced different chemotypes, with variation in flavonoid and tannin content mainly linked to soil conditions. Different levels of genetic diversity and distance of populations were found to be correlated with the identified chemotypes. These observations and the proposed analytical workflow contribute to the global understanding of the impact of abiotic factors and genotype on the accumulation of given metabolites and, therefore, could be valuable to guide further medicinal exploration of native species.

O trabalho apresenta a caracterização do mundo urbano e mundo rural considerando fatores como dimensão, densidade e heterogeneidade, pensando também as suas relações de interdependência a partir da bibliografia disponível. O artigo também debate os estereótipos histórico - socialmente construídos em relação ao campo, para desmistificar o rural e trazer a tona uma nova perspectiva de campo, bem e sua confluência com o urbano. Neste sentido, almeja debater a idéia amplamente difundida de dicotomia e oposição entre estes dois mundos na contraposição do rural como arcaico, atrasado e puro, enquanto o urbano está para a efervescência, modernidade e oportunidade. Considerando isto, constata-se que o rural vem se reinventando e ressignificando seus sentidos e práticas, com os sujeitos fazendo seu espaço na medida que fazem a si mesmos. Ademais, discutimos como se dá o fenômeno de migração em meio a essa engrenagem social forjada por relações e interações complexas, posto que essa mobilidade está condicionada à necessidade de mudança e consequentemente produz muitas transformações na vida de todos os atores envolvidos. Essa mobilidade também envolve um movimento de retorno num contexto de nascimento das novas ruralidades e da ressignificação do campo e de suas relações com a cidade.

O aproveitamento integral dos alimentos consiste na utilização de partes não convencionais que frequentemente são descartadas, tais como folhas, talos, cascas e sementes, estes não fazem parte dos hábitos alimentares da maioria das populações, porém podem ser importante fonte de nutrientes. Desta forma, neste estudo objetivou-se elaborar e caracterizar uma farinha obtida a partir da casca do jenipapo, evitando seu descarte. Para tanto, após a obtenção do jenipapo na feira das Rocas na cidade de Natal/RN, o jenipapo teve sua casca separada e destinada a fabricação de farinha a partir de técnicas padronizadas em laboratório e depois foi submetida a análises físico-químicas. A farinha apresentou boa característica nutricional. Assim, conclui-se que a utilização da casca de jenipapo na elaboração de farinha é viável, visando o aproveitamento de resíduos e enriquecimento de produtos de panificação. Além disso, a farinha elaborada possui fluxograma de processamento aplicável à população geral.

Methods: Microcosm biofilm was produced on bovine enamel, from pooled human saliva mixed with McBain saliva, under 0.2 % sucrose exposure, for 5 days. The biofilm was daily treated using (1 mL/1 min): Vochysia tucanorum Mart. (2.5 mg/mL); Myrcia bella Cambess. (1.25 mg/mL); Matricaria chamomilla L. (20 mg/mL); Malva sylvestris (Malvatricin® Plus–Daudt); 0.12 % Chlorhexidine (PerioGard®-Palmolive, Positive control) and PBS (Negative control). The % dead bacteria, biofilm thickness, EPS biovolume, lactic acid concentration, the CFU counting (total microorganisms, Lactobacillus sp., total streptococci and Streptococcus mutans/S. sobrinus) were determined. Enamel demineralization was measured by TMR. Results: All mouth rinses induced bacterial death compared to PBS (p < 0.0001). The biofilm thickness varied from 12 ± 2 μm (chlorhexidine) to 18 ± 2 μm (V. tucanorum) (ANOVA/Tukey, p < 0.0001). The EPS biovolume varied from 7(4)% (chlorhexidine) to 30(20)% (PBS) (Kruskal-Wallis/Dunn, p < 0.0001). The lactic acid production was reduced by M. sylvestris (1.1 ± 0.2 g/L) and chlorhexidine (0.6 ± 0.2 g/L) compared to PBS (2.6 ± 1.3 g/L) (ANOVA, p < 0.0001). Malva sylvestris and chlorhexidine showed significant low CFU for total microorganisms, Lactobacillus sp. and total streptococci. Only chlorhexidine significantly reduced S. mutans/S. sobrinus. CFUs for total streptococci and Lactobacillus sp, were also significantly reduced by M. chamomilla L. Malva sylvestris (63.4 % of mineral loss reduction), chlorhexidine (47.4 %) and M. chamomilla L. (39.4 %) significantly reduced enamel demineralization compared to PBS (ANOVA/Tukey, p < 0.0001). Conclusion: M. chamomilla L. has lower antibiofilm action, but comparable anti-caries effect to those found for chlorhexidine, under this model. Clinical relevance: This study shows that the antibiofilm and anti-caries potential may vary between the commercial and experimental mouth rinses containing natural agents, with promising results for those containing Matricaria chamomilla L. and Malva Sylvestris. O tabaco e as conseqüências do seu uso são considerados importantes problemas de saúde pública, principal causa global evitável de morte, responsável por cerca de seis milhões de óbitos em todo o mundo. Nesta perspectiva, este trabalho objetiva relatar a experiência vivenciada a partir de uma oficina de culinária realizada com as mulheres participantes do grupo de combate ao tabagismo em uma Unidade de Saúde da Família. A oficina de culinária foi realizada em uma Unidade de Saúde da Família da cidade de Cajazeiras-PB junto a 06 mulheres, no período de setembro de 2016. A oficina se deu em quatro encontros, sendo o 1º uma palestra, o 2º, 3º e 4º a elaboração de receitas sobre bolo de fubá com goiabada, torta integral de sardinha e bolo integral de banana, respectivamente. Os resultados foram satisfatórios, visto que a evasão das participantes diminuiu significantemente durante a oficina, o que fez com que o acompanhamento com a equipe cuidadora se tornasse mais efetivo, bem como a evolução do tratamento. Conclui-se que o trabalho realizado foi de grande valia, uma vez que auxiliou de forma positiva na adesão ao tratamento para abandono do vício a partir da adoção de práticas de alimentação saudável. Paranoa Lake is an urban lake and since last year Brasilia started to use its waters for human consumption. Until the 1990’s algae and cyanobacteria blooms occurred and improvements on wastewater treatment plants brought the water quality to very good conditions in the 2000’s. Recently water quality is starting to deteriorate mainly due to diffuse pollution. Thus, the evaluation of urban drainage waters entering the lake and the proposition of technological alternatives to minimize impacts are important for the analysis of diffuse urban pollution flowing into the lake. Quantitative and qualitative behaviour of the urban drainage waters were analysed by means of monitoring the precipitation amount and runoff flow and quality. Mathematical modelling using the SWMM and PCSWMM programs was carried out, and good results were obtained for flow modelling. However, in water quality simulations, poorer response was obtained. It was also evaluated the implementation of 13 alternatives of detention ponds to study the effects of their location on the removal of pollutants, as well as influences on the network flow support. It was observed that ponds allocated in the downstream part of the network are more efficient, but requireconstruction in environmentally and urbanistically problematic areas and high commercial value. Alternatives with smaller volumes in areas areas near the center ofthe basin can meet flood-damping needs of the presently constructed drainage network.

Parano&aacute, Lake is an urban lake and it is being used as a source for urban water supply since last year. Until 1990, algal blooms occurred and improvements on wastewater treatment plants carried out improved the water quality very rapidly due to phosphorus load reduction. Recently, water quality is deteriorating, which is probably due to diffuse pollution. In Brazil, we adopt separated pipe networks for sewage and stormwaters, although cross flows occur. The evaluation of urban drainage stormwaters entering the lake and proposition of technical alternatives is crucial in minimizing the impacts on lake water quality. Quantitative and qualitative behavior of urban stormwaters were analyzed by means of monitoring the runoff flows and pollutant concentrations. Mathematical modelling while using the Storm Water Management Model&mdash, SWMM was carried out, and good correlations were found for flow modelling. However, poor response was achieved for water quality simulations, affecting the simulated pollutant loads entering the lake. The simulation of 13 alternatives for detention ponds location was also evaluated, as well as their influences on flow damping capability. The detention ponds that were tested were placed in line in the drainage mains to study the effects of their location on the removal of pollutants. As expected, the results showed that ponds located near the outfall are more efficient in reducing flow peaks. However, this layout requires construction woks in areas that are more sensitive to environmental and urbanistic problems and with higher land commercial values. Alternatives with smaller volumes in public areas near the center of the catchment area can lead to the peak flow damping required by the existing drainage network to avoid overflows. In conclusion, detention ponds can be a good alternative for improving the stormwater quantity and quality, but also alternatives that promote increased infiltration, should also be considered for compensating the infiltration lost due to urbanization.

O objetivo foi avaliar a associação entre o estado nutricional e a insatisfação da autoimagem corporal de idosas matriculadas no curso Alimentação, Nutrição e Terceira Idade da UnATI/UERJ. Realizou-se estudo seccional, com entrevista semiestruturada com todas as idosas (≥60 anos), obtendo-se informações referentes à percepção da imagem corporal (escala de nove silhuetas de Stunkard), indicadores socioeconômicos, de saúde, demográficos e cálculo do índice de massa corporal (IMC). Os dados foram analisados por meio de teste qui-quadrado e a regressão linear simples (nível de significância=5%). Verificou-se que 50,0% eram eutróficas; 6,0% se encontravam na categoria de baixo-peso e 44,0% apresentavam sobrepeso (p=0,425). Quanto à percepção da imagem corporal, 74,0% (n=37;p=0,0049) estavam insatisfeitas com o corpo, principalmente pelo excesso (89,2%). Das pessoas que manifestaram insatisfação por baixo-peso, a maioria era eutrófica. Já entre as insatisfeitas por excesso, 30,2% não apresentavam excesso de peso. As silhuetas 2 e 3 foram apontadas como ideais por metade das entrevistadas, ainda que a autopercepção de 62,0% das idosas tenham sido as silhuetas 4 e 5. A classificação na escala das silhuetas da imagem real aumenta conforme aumenta o IMC (p, The study aimed to estimate the association between nutritional status and body self-image dissatisfaction in elderly women attending the Food, Nutrition and Elderly Course at UnATI/UERJ. A cross-sectional study was conducted, with semi-structured interviews with all elderly (≥60 years), obtaining information regarding body image perception (scale of nine Stunkard silhouettes), socioeconomic, health and demographic indicators, and BMI. The data were analyzed using the Chi-square test and linear regression (significance level=5%). It was found that 50.0% had normal weight; 6.0% were in the category of underweight; and 44.0% were overweight (p=0.425). Regarding the perception of body image, 74.0% (n=37;p=0.0049) were dissatisfied with the body, mainly by excess (89.2%). Of those who expressed dissatisfaction with low weight, most were eutrophic. On the other hand, between the ones dissatisfied by excess, 30.2% are not overweight. Silhouettes 2 and 3 were identified as ideal for half of the respondents, although the self-perception of 62.0% of the elderly had been the silhouettes 4 and 5. As bacias hidrográficas do rio Caripi e do Igarapé Açu localizam-se nos municípios de Marapanim e Igarapé Açu, compondo o conjunto de bacias costeiras de comportamento fluvio-estuarino que drenam a região nordeste do estado do Pará. O processo de uso e ocupação do solo na região tem mostrado uma tendência de ameaça a manutenção do potencial hídrico destas bacias, por esta razão este trabalho objetivou avaliar diferentes métodos de determinação da área de floresta ripária e sua relação com a sustentabilidade hídrica. A metodologia consistiu em definir as áreas de floresta ripária a partir de dois métodos de análise espacial e a aplicação do resultado no cálculo do Índice de Sustentabilidade Hídrica. Os resultados obtidos demonstram que as bacias encontram-se em situação de moderada sustentabilidade, porém a distribuição das classes de cobertura e uso do solo indicam que existe a fragmentação dos sistemas florestais e a redução das áreas que deveria ser de floresta ripária. As técnicas adotadas diferem quanto a nível de cobertura da informação, indicando que a proximidade do modelo hidrológico da bacia depende das variáveis consideradas e da precisão do processo de análise espacial adotado.Palavras–chave: análise espacial, paisagem, uso e cobertura do solo. Abstract The basins of Caripi and Igarapé Açu rivers belong to the municipalities of Marapanim and Igarapé Açu in Para state. They are part of the coastal catchment system with fluvial-estuarine behavior that drain the northeastern state of Para. The process of land use and land occupation represent a threat on the potential of water maintenance in these basins. Therefore, this study evaluated different methods for determining the riparian forest area and its relation to water sustainability. The methodology adopted aimed to identify the areas of riparian forest with two spatial analysis methods and applies the Hydric Sustainability Index. The results obtained show that the basins are in a situation of moderate sustainability, but the distribution of land cover and land use indicates a fragmentation of forest systems and the reduction of areas that should be a riparian forest. The adopted techniques differ in the level of coverage of information, where the precision of hydrological model depends on the chosen variables and the accuracy of the spatial analysis process used.Keywords: spatial analysis, landscape, land use and land cover.
