La investigación alrededor de las Prácticas Pedagógicas de los docentes de Lengua Castellana en básica secundaria, buscó caracterizar dichas prácticas pedagógicas con base en el análisis de la apuesta nacional y los teóricos del área Noam Chomsky y Dell Hymes y de la Práctica Pedagógica Olga Lucia Zuluaga. Se desarrolló con base en la investigación cualitativa, desde el paradigma histórico hermenéutico, empleando el método etnográfico, realizada a partir de un análisis documental, un proceso de observación directa y la aplicación de una entrevista, desde las categorías epistemológica, pedagógica y didáctica. Se evidencia la estructura de un proceso investigativo que arrojó como resultados las fortalezas y debilidades epistemológicas alrededor de la Práctica Pedagógica The research around the Pedagogical Practices of the teachers of Spanish Language in basic secondary school, sought to characterize these pedagogical practices based on the analysis of the national commitment and the theorists of the area Noam Chomsky and Dell Hymes and of the Pedagogical Practice Olga Lucia Zuluaga. It was developed based on qualitative research, from the hermeneutical historical paradigm, using the ethnographic method, carried out from a documentary analysis, a process of direct observation and the application of an interview, from the epistemological, pedagogical and didactic categories. The structure of an investigative process that results in epistemological strengths and weaknesses around the Pedagogical Practice is evident.

El presente artículo presenta una reflexión realizada desde el Grupo de Investigación de Trabajo Social de la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander sobre la situación de la frontera colombo venezolana reconociendo desde el Trabajo Social las problemáticas que socialmente se identifica están afectando la región; también se plantean algunas alternativas de intervención profesional fundamentadas en la convergencia y la educación para responder o mitigar dichas situaciones. This article presents a reflection carried out by the Social Work Research Group of the Francisco de Paula Santander University on the situation of the Colombian-Venezuelan border, recognizing from Social Work the problems that are socially identified are affecting the region; There are also some alternatives for professional intervention based on convergence and education to respond to or mitigate these situations.

The growth of the higher education population and different school paths to access an academic degree has increased the heterogeneity of students inside the classroom. Consequently, the effectiveness of traditional teaching methods has reduced. This paper describes the design, development, implementation and evaluation of a tutorial system (TS) to improve student's engagement in higher mathematics. The TS design was based on the Personalized System of Instruction of the Mastery Learning pedagogical approach and can be implemented in any higher education course with mathematics needs. The TS consists on small self-paced modularized units of educational contents, including tutorial videos, notes and formative e-assessment with personalized feedback. The TS ensures that the student is only allowed to proceed to the next unit after he or she achieves the required mastery criterion of the current unit. The TS was implemented in the Quantitative Methods course of an undergraduate degree and received good acceptance from students. It was also recognized that TS contributed to learning and engagement with the discipline. Through an experimental research experience it has been shown that the imposition of restrictions on the advance to the next level by a mastery criterion leads to a significant improvement in student’s engagement and performance.

Recently there has been a surge of interest in PDEs involving fractional derivatives in different fields of engineering. In this extended abstract we present some of the results developedin [3]. We compute the fundamental solution for the three-parameter fractional Laplace operator Δ by transforming the eigenfunction equation into an integral equation and applying the method of separation of variables. The obtained solutions are expressed in terms of Mittag-Leffer functions. For more details we refer the interested reader to [3] where it is also presented an operational approach based on the two Laplace transform.
