We explore privilege and its systemic intertwining with management education curricula. We take the view that "privilege as power and control" is intimately bound up with shareholder primacy as a foundation of mainstream management education (Lund Dean & Forray, 2021). In an attempt to tackle this, we provide a single case study of how we "appreciate" a broad concept of Indigenous stewardship in a brand-new foundation unit called "Responsible Business Mindset," as part of a Master of Commerce program at a large Australian university. By proactively engaging with Indigenous stewardship to tackle privilege we contribute to the literature on engaging with privilege in management education curricula. We highlight how a concept of Indigenous stewardship may help us to reimagine business, where business no longer ignores the interconnections and interdependencies it has with the communities and natural environments within which it operates. Such a concept may also be a means to bolster alternative narratives to shareholder primacy that currently exclude a meaningful debate about privilege. At the same time, the entire exercise of introducing a new concept into the curricula has brought about a deep and critical self-reflection of our own privilege and how we as educators can respectfully and meaningfully introduce such concepts with a sense of appreciation rather than appropriation.

Human service organizations in the US are heavily dependent on volunteers and donations. The COVID-19 pandemic compromised the ability of volunteer coordinators and fundraisers to obtain and retain such vital resources. This article details the experiences of those entrusted with the acquisition and retention of time and money for human service organizations during the pandemic. Volunteer coordinators faced obstacles in reestablishing a volunteer base, and keeping volunteers engaged and supported while navigating the health risks associated with COVID-19. Fundraisers had to rapidly adjust their solicitation methods amid greater demand for accountability, transparency, and impact from donors. These challenges required innovations and ad-hoc adjustments -both of which were difficult to initiate during the COVID-19 pandemic when operations were carried out virtually. Much has been made about how executive leadership or organizations responded to the pandemic. The focus of this paper is on the challenges and potentials of ESG integration which are explored through a case study of the use of ESG data in investment analysis and decision making by an equity investment team. Whilst current regulatory efforts place faith in the development of common ESG disclosure standards to resolve 'impediments' to ESG integration, our case points to more fundamental discontinuities between financial and ESG accounting inscriptions that question both its feasibility and adequacy. In relation to feasibility, the case points to the ambiguity of ESG issues in terms of their possible value relevance, to how ESG data quantification and aggregation readily occludes its significance, and to the difficulty of attaching a monetary value to ESG data in either an aggregated or disaggregated form. Consideration of ESG issues is then further constrained by the spatial boundary of the 'entity' that financial accounting performs, and the short temporal 'horizon' of the financial projections of the entity's future performance that it enables. We conclude that, whilst increasingly attractive to investors, the UNPRI's limiting of ESG 'risks' to those that are potentially 'financially material', may itself be creating a false sense of security both for investors and their clients. Developing collection-level surveys to expose hidden collections in special collections and archives departments within ARL libraries has received a great deal of scholarly attention in the recent years. Numerous standards have been explored, and each has its strengths and weaknesses. This paper summarizes some of the major initiatives in collection-level surveys, descriptions, and preliminary records. A comparison of metadata structures is used to build a preliminary record model that provides a standard description that is easily adapted to various institutions and all formats. This preliminary record model is applied to special collections materials at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a test case, and further areas of research are discussed.

Through a review of the professional values and responsibilities with which catalogers identify most, i.e., patron service and the integrity of the catalog, this paper explores the significance of the professional catalogers' role when faced with major challenges to their ability to provide service and maintain the integrity of the catalog. This article presents the results of a survey examining the extent to which working catalogers use Classification Web, the Library of Congress' online resource for subject heading and classification documentation. An earlier survey analyzed Class Web's usefulness on an institutional level. This broader survey expands on that analysis and provides information on such questions as: What types of institutions subscribe to Class Web? What are the reasons for using Class Web when performing original or copy cataloging? and What other resources do catalogers use for classification/subject heading analysis? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article describes an exploratory exercise in knowledge management and database development undertaken by a task force of volunteer members of the New Members Round Table (NMRT) of the American Library Association. The authors will show how the group defined its mission, established priorities, drew up procedural guidelines, and developed a searchable database to serve the organizational needs of their fellow NMRT members while making use of the basic skills and equipment available to the group at that time. The steps in this exercise are replicable, provided that volunteers can be identified within an organization who are willing to commit their time and resources to a project as challenging as this one proved to be.
