Abstract

Results suggest that the fungal biosynthetic pathway of 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-butan-2-one (Raspberry Ketone) differs from that in plants. In Nidula niveo-tomentosa, a benzoate moiety elongates by the side chain following the poly-beta-keto scheme.
