Ponorogo is a city that has a high rate of divorce cases. From the divorce cases, the majority of submissions come from female workers who work as migrant workers, the implication is that the wife has a far greater income than her husband giving rise to a shift in the role of husband and wife which also results in a shift in rights and obligations. Although Islam allows a wife to work (in the context of helping her husband), it is expected that the husband and wife have considered together the good and bad consequences that may arise from the decision. Income gap or income inequality between husband and wife if not interpreted wisely can have an impact on the disharmony of the relationship between the two can even reach the stage of divorce. This research will explain an analyze the effect of income inequality between husbnad and wife on the high cases of divorce in Ponorogo. For that, researcher will examine this income inequality in the view of the sociology of Islamic law in the Ponorogo community in particular and driving factors the rise of female workers in Ponorogo and things that arise when the wife’s income is greater than her husband. The paradigm of this research is used a qualitative paradigm with emphasis on case studies in teh field. The result of the research stated that income inequality where the wife has a greater income than the husband is not a main problem in divorce cases, but there are other factors as a trigger such as the inability of the husband in managing finances, the wife’s takings is only for consumptive activities and even tends to spree, the interference from the husband’s family, especially in financial matters, lack of understanding of religion, and infidelity. This hiigh financial ability of the wife ultimately makes the wife dare to sue for divorce of her husband.

The purpose of this study is to develop the stories as the learning sources for teaching character at English lesson. This research was conducted by using research and developmental design (R & D) because the goal is to develop a product, i.e. the translated stories of Prophets. By developing the adapted model of Borg and Gall (1983), some procedures had been carried out. The product of the research is a book consisting of the translated stories of Prophet which were reviewed by experts in terms of its plot, content, language and design. In short, through this story book of Prophets, students and readers can learn the virtuous – worthy character – of Prophets as the good model for them. Besides, they can also learn English Language, especially in increasing their vocabulary in English. The suggestion given to the product of research was related to quantity of Prophet stories. Since this book just contains the story of the outstanding Prophets, it was suggested to cover all the Prophet stories for the next study. Recognizing, enhancing, and appreciating positive experiences in our lives, also known as savoring, has many benefits. Research on savoring suggests that practicing savoring is linked to positive outcomes such as increased happiness and general wellbeing. Organizations should be aware of the positive implications of practicing savoring and should seek to develop savoring norms as this can contribute to organizational success. This article discusses the savoring of positive experiences as a phenomenon and its application in the workplace. Specifically, this article will provide an overview of strategies aimed at enhancing savoring, as well as past research findings that highlight the utility of these strategies. Different barriers and solutions to savoring are discussed, in addition to the importance of the context in cultivating savoring norms in the workplace.

Over the past 30 years there has been a surge of research on the placebo effect using a neuroscientific approach. The interesting aspects of this effort are related to the identification of several biological mechanisms of both the placebo and nocebo effects, the latter of which is defined as a negative placebo effect. Some important translational implications have emerged both in the setting of clinical trials and in routine medical practice. One of the principal contributions of neuroscience has been to draw the attention of the scientific and medical communities to the important role of psychobiological factors in therapeutic outcomes, be they drug related or not. Indeed, many biological mechanisms triggered by placebos and nocebos resemble those modulated by drugs, suggesting a possible interaction between psychological factors and drug action. Unfortunately, this new knowledge regarding placebos has the potential of being dangerously exploited by pseudoscience. The study entitled : La missione del sacerdote nel pensiero del beato don Jerzy Popiełuszko – un martire contemporaneo della Polonia ( “ The Mission of the Priest in the thought of Bl. Jerzy Popiełuszko, a modern priest-martyr from Poland ” ) explores the theology of priesthood in the light of the thought and example of Bl. Father Jerzy Popiełuszko. The essay covers the following issues: 1) Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko in the context of the times he lived in; 2) The mission of the priest is to be close to God and to people; 3) The mission of the priest is to proclaim the Good News; 4) The mission of the priest is to minister the Sacraments; 5) The mission of the priest is to nurture hope; 6) The mission of the priest is to die for the Faith. The Author concludes that the phenomenon of Fr Jerzy Popiełuszko, which came into its full force after his martyr’s death, allows us to see him as a clear model for modern priests. The blessed martyr from Warsaw reminds us that sanctity can be attained and lived in all historical contexts. Fr Jerzy also comes across as an exemplar of a very engaged shepherd of souls who walked the path to holiness whilst also working closely with many lay people who showed a special readiness to work with him and solicitude for the good of the Church in a world at war against God, the Church and its priests.

The Arab Caliphate was famous for its highly developed book culture and the fact that it turned the Arabic language into the international language of communication, science and art throughout the Arab-Muslim East. During the reign of the Abbasid dynasty, the Arab-Muslim civilization is experiencing the peak of its heyday and power. Under the Abbasids, Baghdad became not only the political, but also the cultural capital of the Caliphate. The famous House of Wisdom opens in Baghdad, where a large-scale translation activity has been carried out for centuries. The Abbasids achieved amazing success because they were able to absorb the rich cultural traditions of the peoples they conquered. At the same time, they pursued their own political goals - the strengthening and development of the Arab Caliphate. The Abbasids were not pioneers in translation, they skillfully used and developed the pre-Islamic developments of the Iranians in this area. It is important to study the reasons why the Arab Caliphate at one time reached historical heights. This is necessary in order for the lessons of the past to serve the good of the present.

The general rule is that ordinary individuals are not entitled to exercise the functions of the public service without appointment, authorization or assignment, because they are then rapists and all their actions are invalid. However, that rule is replied by exceptions, including the so-called actual employee theory, which justifies the need for an ordinary public facility to manage a vital public facility without taking up the function by the legally prescribed means,exercising all the powers of the post and issuing the administrative decisions that entitle it to it so that its actions are considered legitimate, in exceptional circumstances, and the justification for ensuring the functioning of public facilities. Some of them are the so-called theory of the apparent employee, who engages in the functions of the public service in normal circumstances, without any legitimate basis, and is justified by the French judiciary to protect the other good faith dealing with him, and all his actions depend on the proof of the good will of the individuals dealing with him, regardless of the intention of that person usurping power. The research deals with the distinction between the actual employee and the apparent employee, to clarify the confusion between them, and the use of one as a synonym for the other, despite the fundamental differences between them, the two theories of the creation of the French Council of State, and the approaches of the Egyptian Council of State and administrative courts (Ombudsperson’s office) in Saudi Arabia. A within-participant withdrawal design was used to examine the effects of a positive version of the Good Behavior Game (GBG) for three students in an elementary special education classroom for students with emotional or behavioral disorders (EBD). Results indicated immediate improvements in disruptive behavior and academic engagement for all three students when the GBG was implemented which was generally replicated in the second intervention phase for academic engagement. Tau- U effect sizes ranged from .76 to .95 indicating large and very large effects for both behaviors for two students and academic engagement for the third student, but Tau- U for the third student’s disruptive behavior was .32 (considered not effective). Two students exhibited slight decreasing trends in academic engagement behavior and increasing trends in disruptive behavior near the end of intervention phases. A preliminary within-session analysis also suggested students’ behavior was generally better in intervention phases both during and not during the GBG when compared with their baseline levels of behavior. Social validity information suggested generally positive teacher and student perceptions about the GBG initially, with less positive student perceptions 10 weeks following the conclusion of the study. The teacher reported implementing the GBG 5 times over the 10 weeks following the conclusion of the study.

This paper studies in parallel the history of empire and the development of universals. It uses as its preliminary orientation the work of Eric Voegelin who argued that universals develop in history alongside and through universalising empires. We find this basic contention highly credible as it is empires that force us to develop cognitive approaches that encompass both colonised and coloniser in any subsequent social structure. So conceived, the paper then argues that empires are synonymous with human history as such and that even those entities (such a Greek city states) which are eulogised for escaping this logic are on examination no less imperial than the empires they oppose. The paper then argues that the development of universals is not a byproduct of empire but rather that it drives imperial expansion in the first place. It seeks to argue that ideation is the casual factor in human history, social structures and behaviour. It argues contra thinkers like Francis Fukuyama, there is no biological foundation for the qualitative distinctions of civilisation, rather the paper contends that the origin of civilisation lies in human conceptuality not human biology, locality or indeed any other material force impinging on life. So configured, the paper then concludes that the primary political question lies in bringing together the question of the good with empire – a process most advanced in human history by Christianity.

The book of Nehemiah provides a remarkable example of transformation leader motivated by, and acting for, God's ends: God's glory and the good of those served. It also provides an example of the use of godly means: the pursuit of spirituality in leadership, integrity and visioner focus upon achieving desirable results. The Transformational leaders in organization and communication is very important. The formulation of the problems that the author raises in this scientific paper are: First, is the character of Nehemia the most dominant character modeled by the contemporary leaders? Second, which background category most dominantly determines the transformational leadership based on the book of Nehemiah for the contemporary leaders. The writer uses a quantitative descriptive method with a correlational survey type explanation method. From the results of the data analysis: First: “The transformational leadership based on the book of Nehemiah for the contemporary leaders are in the sufficient category” in this research is proven. Second, “The dimension of Spirituality as the character of Nehemiah who is most dominant in the role modeled by the transformational leadership based on the Book of Nehemiah” is proven to be true.

Higher education institutions face the Janus dilemma, on the one hand, universities are asked to be more open, transparent, and easily accessible, so they can be better scrutinized by the public. On the other, they need to limit transparency and guard privacy. The article explores how AI slowly but heavily penetrates the domain of the higher education institutions; it provides various applications of AI in the domain of higher education. This paper argues that AI, big data, and learning analytics can become a powerful tool for advancing higher education institutions further, but at the same time, AI can have a detrimental effect without a vigilant eye. The paper does not aim to minimize the value and virtue of AI, rather problematize the implications and promote conscious decision-making. The article aims to stimulate the discussion among the relevant stakeholders.

Drawing on Paul Ricoeur’s “little ethics” and Chung-ying Cheng’s work on Confucian and Kantian ethics, this essay reinforces the broad outlines of a cross- cultural framework for reconciling conflicts between the good and the right, teleology and deontology, and perfectionism and liberalism so that we can recognize dynamic concerns across the grand sweep of moral life. Ricoeur and Cheng describe roughly parallel sets of relations and highlight similar dynamics among three planes of ethical life.

Perception is an individual observation or process giving meaning as a result of observations about an object, event, and so on through his five senses, which is obtained by inferring information and interpretation of messages so that someone can provide feedback about the good or bad or the positive and negative of it. The use of animation media in learning other than providing many conveniences, there are also obstacles, causing various student perceptions. Students' perceptions of the use of learning media can be seen by gender. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of learning using animation/powton in SMP/MTs based on gender. Based on the data collected, this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire in collecting data from primary and secondary sources. In this study, the primary data was the result of a perception survey through a questionnaire conducted to SMP/MTs students. In contrast, secondary information is obtained from a literature review regarding online learning systems and virtual classes. The data analysis technique uses percentages. The results of data analysis are presented descriptively in the following subchapter. Based on the results of research and discussion, it has been known that students' perceptions of learning mathematics using Powton media are perfect. Both male and female students positively perceive learning mathematics by using Powton-based learning media in SMP/MTs. Students get an average student answer of 100% and fall into the "Very Good" category. it explains that animation media is beneficial for students in understanding the lesson.

In response to a global population with increasingly complex issues at the end of life, a movement in the U.S. has emerged incorporating doulas into end-of-life care. These end-of-life (EOL) doulas are not just focused on the quality of life, but also the quality of death. Like birth doulas, who provide support for pregnant patients and their families, EOL doulas help alleviate physical and mental discomfort in those who are dying. In this paper, we explore the role of EOL doulas in improving the care of unrepresented patients, who lack decision-making capacity and have no surrogates or documents to guide their healthcare decisions. We argue that EOL doulas may help this traditionally underserved population experience a “good death” by answering several ethical and procedural challenges. As quasi-independent, non-medical members of the healthcare team, they provide a balancing, advocating voice on behalf of the patient, and may also help reduce inappropriate treatment, delays in care, and the overburdening of the public guardianship system. As such, attention should be given to formally defining their place within the healthcare infrastructure. Ultimately, we contend that EOL doulas are key to ensuring optimal, ethical care for unrepresented patient populations.

Lately, the public discussion around mandatory vaccination has been an intensely enliven one. On the one hand, there are those who argue for the effectiveness of vaccination and demand that all procure it in order that all be immunize and that the threat of COVID-19 be minimize. On the other hand, there are those who are troubled about getting the vaccine and claim that mandatory vaccination is an infringement on their individual Autonomy. Furthermore, there are those who refuse vaccination for faith-based reasons and thus invoke religious exemption. The paper offers a moral analysis about the conflict between Mandatory Vaccination, supposed to be for the good of the community, and individual Autonomy. It clarifies why there are no moral basis for mandatory vaccination nor for religious exemption.

A tanulmány a katasztrófavédelem hivatásos állományában megjelenő kábítószerfogyasztási és kábítószerkereskedelmi tevékenység jelenségét és lehetséges okait mutatja be egy, a Nemzeti Védelmi Szolgálat munkája során előfordult eset kapcsán, továbbá tárgyalja a megelőzés lehetőségeit, jogszabályi környezetét és a jelenleg is kihívást jelentő kérdéseket, valamint szemlélteti a Magyar Honvédség jó gyakorlatát. A tanulmány hangsúlyos eleme annak a folyamatnak a bemutatása, ahogyan a jelenség begyűrűzik a hivatásos állomány fiatal tagjai közé, továbbá a személyes motívumok feltárása. Az esettanulmány ismerteti a kábítószer-kereskedelem tárgyában elítélt volt hivatásos tiszt önreflexióját, amely az eset kapcsán benne felmerülő, a büntetőjogi következményeken túlmutató, etikai, lelkiismereti dilemmáiról, tanulságairól szól. A tanulmány vizsgálja az ügy felderítésétől kezdődő szakaszt a büntetőeljáráson át egészen az elítélést követő szakaszig, mind jogi, mind emberi oldalról és bemutatja, a büntetőeljárás hatásait után egy szervezet, valamint az elítélt volt tűzoltó életére. Mindehhez a Nemzeti Védelmi Szolgálat által tett feljelentés és annak nyomán lefolytatott, jogerős ítéletekkel lezárt büntető ügy, valamint az elkövetővel készített mélyinterjú szolgáltat alapot. A tanulmány rávilágít arra, hogy problémakör éppúgy érintheti a Nemzeti Védelmi Szolgálat további védett állománycsoportjait, mint a jelen esetben feldolgozott katasztrófavédelmi szervet.

In this article, I examine some of the marketing and sales strategies at Gardenview, a newly established eldercare company that ran a few residential eldercare facilities in Nanjing, China. There, like elsewhere in urban China, the projected aging demography was mobilized to push for an industrialization (chanyehua)—marketization and professionalization—of eldercare, transforming ideas and experience of eldercare by putting forward a new set of knowledge of aging. To this end, I first ground the rising eldercare industry in the transitioning paradigm of conceptualizing China’s population from population control to demographic aging. Then I explore ethnographically how Gardenview participated in the eldercare industry in a rapidly aging China. In particular, I look at the floorplans and the marketing stories as devices of the education of values—as prices, the good and desirable, and differentiators—to understand the social, economic, and ethical dynamics instigated by a transitioning demography. These values, as I show, are crucial in linking everyday life and choices with the paradigmatic shift of China’s population. Finally, I discuss how understanding the very processes of marketing and sales as an education of values could shed further light on what anthropologist Michael Fischer calls “literacies of the future” as a socially and economically elaborated and contested world of an aging China.

The administration and governance of grant funding across global health organizations presents enormous challenges. Meeting these challenges is crucial to ensuring that funds are used in the most effective way to improve health outcomes, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3, “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” The Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP) Standard (ARS 1651) is the world’s first and, currently, only international standard for the financial governance and management of grant funding. Through consensus building and global harmonization between both low- and middle-income and high-income country players, the GFGP Standard has achieved a leveling impact: GFGP applies equally to, and can be implemented by, all types of organization, regardless of location, size, or whether they predominantly give or receive funding.GFGP can be used as a tool for addressing some of the challenges of the current funding model. Here, we describe our experiences and lessons learned from implementing GFGP across 4 diverse research institutions in India, Nigeria, Colombia, and the Philippines as part of our National Institute for Health Research Global Health Research Unit on Genomic Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance.

The author relates his encounter with different concepts from the theory of gestalt therapy, both during his own training and also much later. He shows how difficult it seemed to him to reconcile some of these concepts with his own worldview, his own theoretical or methodological choices, and his personality. He also reveals how this incoherence drove him to explore other avenues in this direction and thereby build for himself a coherence of a different type, all the while striving to remain true to the basic principles of foundational gestalt therapy. He insists on the experiential character of the feeling of coherence or incoherence.1 He indicates how the creation of a new coherence leads to the emergence of new inconsistencies, and how this movement both avoids death-inducing fixations and turns out to be the expression of the vitality of reflection.

So one of the words of God that contains educational teachings and contains educational values is the letter Alkautsar verses 1-3 (Tala'ah Tafsir Al Qurthubi). The purpose of this study is to find out the educational values of Islam contained in Surah Al-Kautsar verses 1-3 according to the interpretation of Jami' li Ahkami of the Qur'an by Al-qurthubi and to find out its implications in everyday life. The method used is library or library research with primary data sources namely Jami' Li Ahkami Al-qur'an and secondary data such as books, journals, articles and so on and then collected, processed then analyzed and concluded descriptively. So the conclusion obtained is that in the first paragraph there is an educative value of gratitude, namely acknowledging it with the heart, then saying it verbally and implementing/implementing it with the limbs. While the educational value in the second verse is spiritual value which is manifested in prayer worship (Hablun minAllah) and social value which is manifested in qurban worship (Hablun minannas). While the educational value in the third verse is the value of fighting spirit which is reflected in the good deeds of ma'ruf nahi mungkar and the value of toughness that is accompanied by responsibility, all of which are illustrated by that everyone will definitely get a reward according to their deeds.

Paul, Apostle relates the Good News to the wisdom of God that is understood by humans who give themselves to believe in Jesus. However, the presence of the powerful Sophists with the teaching of worldly wisdom and relying on the power of the word of wisdom (sophia logou), has obscured the true meaning of God's wisdom. This study aims to explore the influence of the Sophists in the life of the Corinthian church which caused Paul to explain the true meaning of wisdom. Knowing the background of the wisdom problem in Corinth will give you a complete picture of the wisdom of God that Paul preached. This study applies historical research methods to find out the origin and influence of the Sophists' teachings. The results show that the sophia logou owned by the Sophists has obscured the meaning of the cross of Christ which is the wisdom of God. The wisdom that Paul means in the letter to the Corinthians is the openness of one's mind to believe in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross which has implications for congregational unity and survival in the face of problems or struggles.

The article analyzes the aesthetic views of Friedrich Hölderlin, and, first, his understanding of the categories of the Beautiful and Sublime. Particular attention is paid to the comparison of Hölderlin's views with the aesthetic teachings of Plato and Immanuel Kant, who had a great influence on the German poet. The author of the article concludes that Hölderlin sought to unite the Platonian and Kantian understanding of beauty, seeing the similarity between the concepts of Plato and Kant in the question of the source of the beautiful. The central for aesthetics of Hölderlin was the problem of combining the spheres of aesthetic and ethical, to solve which he relied on the idea of Kant about beautiful as a symbol of the moral good and the Teaching of Plato on the climbing of the soul to the Good. Hölderlin pays less attention to the theoretical development of the category of the Sublime than to the comprehension of the category of the Beautiful, however, in his writings, the Sublime is present implicitly, and Hölderlin's understanding of this category is close, on the one hand, to Platonian, bringing together the Beautiful and the Sublime, and, on the other, to Kantian understanding, which brings the Sublime together with the idea of infinity, God and the sphere of morality. The conclusions to which Hölderlin comes, are far from Platonism, and from Kantianism. The poet concludes about the central and leading role of poetry and poetic gift in the knowledge of the world, which should be aesthetic. This indicates a romantic way to interpret Hölderlin's aesthetic concepts of Plato and Kant.

The objective of this study were to obtain empirical evidence of the relationship between parents’ religiosity with students’ character. The participants were the students of junior high school of al Islam Kartasura (SMP Al-Islam Kartasura). The students were randomly chosen from grades VII and VIII. The research method used quantitative by regression design. The research result found that there was correlation between parents’ religiosity with students’ character in junior high school of Al Islam kartasura. It can be concluded that the good parents’ religiosity relate to the good of students’ character.

A substantial consensus has emerged in development circles that the reason why some countries are rich and others poor is largely a reflection of the quality of their institutions – political, bureaucratic, and legal – and that countries with seriously dysfunctional institutions cannot expect to pursue a successful long-term trajectory of economic and social development. Many studies support this consensus, but institutional reform efforts for developed countries have resulted in mixed to weak results; many of these efforts have failed, for example, to establish a robust rule of law to protect the rights of citizens, publicly accountable political regimes, a meritocratic, noncorrupt, and efficient bureaucracy, and an independent media. Reportedly up to 60% of donor-assisted reforms have yielded no measurable increase in government effectiveness. It is inferred from this disappointing result that institutional transplants are often ineffective, and the path dependence, caused by accretions of the particularities of given countries’ histories, cultures, politics, ethnic and religious make-up, and geography leaves each country, for the most part, “to write its own history”.

Our research addresses knowledge integration for the good governance of the environment and the oceans: (a) through a comprehensive legal, political science, and anthropological analysis; and (b) by providing an examination of crucial research foci and research gaps in the fields of environmental and marine governance, along the North–South divide. Our subsequent critical synopsis reveals how existing research within each discipline offers complementary insights for future research. We concludes with a call for further testing of tools, approaches, and methods to enable comprehensive research on the conceptualization of knowledge integration.

Foreign banks have played a major role in Central and Eastern European economic landscape over the last decades. They have spurred banking intermediation and fuelled economic growth for years. However, the global financial crisis unveiled the other side of the coin. This article analyses foreign banks' lending behaviour in Central and Eastern Europe over the period from 2000 to 2016. It aims to investigate the nexus between bank loan growth, cross-border bank claims and the cycle period. Moreover, it captures the impact of the financial cycle on foreign banks' credit behaviour and highlights whether foreign bank ownership is influenced by host- and home-country effects. Our findings reveal the strong nexus between foreign banks' loan growth and cross-border bank claims. Also, we emphasize the pro-cyclicality of foreign banks' loan growth and cross-border bank claims. Furthermore, we see clear differences related to foreign banks' lending behaviour during normal and turbulent times, triggered by host- and home-country effects. These results raise policy challenges regarding the right bank ownership balance and the use of prudential regulation.

En los últimos años, los niños y los adolescentes han sufrido violencia física y emocional, no solamente de forma presencial sino también de forma virtual ya que la forma de convivencia e interacción, sobre todo en los últimos dos años, ha sido a través del internet. Tal violencia se da por parte de los adultos, pero también por parte de otros niños y adolescentes. Este tipo de violencia ha afectado de forma directa el comportamiento de los estudiantes, reflejándose, además, en el rendimiento académico. Por tal motivo, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo poner en evidencia las ventajas que tiene la educación emocional en la escuela para prevenir riesgos psicosociales. La metodología que se usó es de enfoque cualitativo, de revisión, y para ello se analizaron 28 artículos científicos de los últimos cinco años, los cuales abarcaron como ejes principales la educación emocional y los riesgos psicosociales, cada uno de ellos con sus subcategorías. Después del análisis y discusión de la bibliografía científica, se concluyó sobre la importancia de que las escuelas hagan educación emocional en conjunto con los padres de familia para tener objetivos a corto, mediano y largo plazo, ya que el buen manejo de las emociones no solamente incide en el rendimiento académico, sino que en general ayuda a mejorar la vida dentro y fuera de las aulas.

The ‘good mother’ discourse is concerned with the sociocultural construction of motherhood and is visible in many social contexts, such as the workplace, sport, family, and in particular, health-related contexts such as weight loss. This paper explores the ‘good mother’ discourse within constructs of weight created in and through engagement in Australian weight loss centres. Of the 108 success stories collected, Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) was applied to eighty-six (n = 86) success stories across three Australian weight loss centres (Weight Watchers, Lite n’ Easy, and Michelle Bridges’ 12 Week Body Transformation). These success stories were published on each of their weight loss centres’ websites and were accessed on Thursday 20 August 2015 for the purpose of analysis. Findings show that there was a dynamic and complex relationship between women losing weight and wanting to maintain the ‘good mother’ status. Mothers felt a strong need to justify losing weight, through benefits for their family rather than for themselves, and were ‘allowed’ (and therefore given ‘permission’) to join and participate in the weight loss centres. The process supporting the development of becoming a ‘better’ mother. Insight into these processes helps us to examine the role weight loss centres play in constructing ideals surrounding gender, motherhood, the body, and in particular for the discursive messages that shape understandings of ‘success’ and being a ‘good mother’.

Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania filozoficznych podstaw pokoju wewnątrz człowieka w ujęciu Tomasza z Akwinu i Immanuela Kanta. Znaczna jego część dotyczy omówienia konfliktów, które mogą zachodzić między różnymi władzami pożądawczymi oraz między przedmiotami tychże władz. Następnie ma miejsce analiza sposobów rozwiązania możliwych konfliktów. Obaj filozofowie wskazują, że na poziomie władz konflikt może zostać rozwiązany dzięki właściwemu ich uporządkowaniu (władza wyższa kieruje władzą niższą). Konflikt na poziomie przedmiotów (ewentualnie motywów) władz zażegnuje się poprzez wybór dobra wyżej stojącego w hierarchii (ewentualnie kierowanie się wyłącznie prawem moralnym). Na tej podstawie wnioskuje się, że filozoficzne podstawy pokoju wewnątrz człowieka tkwią przede wszystkim w moralnym wymiarze jego natury.

The aim of the article is to examine the process of constructing the images of Stalin and Mao Zedong in the material of Soviet central newspapers on the themes of the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) and Soviet-Chinese friendship. Our focus on the techniques of such constructions allow for dealing with a number of research issues, such as which conceptions of the political leaders were rendered to the Soviet audiences and in which way was this implemented; was there a potential for dynamics in treating the subjects and if this was the case what were the factors that played a role in such dynamics. Data and methods. For our database of primary sources we have chosen the ”Ogonyok” issues published in the period between October 1949 and March 1953. The authors of the present article were interested in references in the magazine texts but also in the images of Stalin and Mao. Hence, the research lens of historical imagology allowed us to examine the images under study as complex synthetical constructions, the constructions that were impacted by inner and outer factors in play in the Soviet society itself, including its political culture, the specific features of representations in the sphere of internationl relations, etc. The illustrative material was used for the sake of further verification and detailization. Results. The ”Ogonyok” material on the theme of Soviet-Chinese friendship included a considerable amount of texts and their visual supplements, with Stalin and Mao as their central personages. The thematical distribution of the database has shown that its main themes are Soviet-Chinese friendship described in hierarchical terms as the ”teacher-pupil” relationship, the achievements of socialist transformation in China, etc. Conclusions. The personification of the images of the leaders of the USSR and the PRC was designed to promote the positive attitudes towards the main Soviet ally, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to contribute to the legitimization of the USSR’s leading position not only in the Soviet-Chinese interaction, but in the whole of the Socialist world as well. Mao’s leading role in the transformations of the Chinese society confirmed to the Soviet audiences the correctness of the development model in the Soviet Union itself. Numerous presentations of the good will with which the Chinese side was ready to follow the ”Stalin recipe” in building socialism served as a marker that the ”great friendship” was under Moscow’s control.

The article considers the issues of the processes of merging, consolidation, and unification of various educational organizations (preschool educational organizations and municipal general education schools) into educational complexes (on the example of Moscow and the Moscow region). The accumulated experience of the existence of educational complexes is summarized, the positive and negative aspects of the association of educational organizations in general education are described. Among some positive results, the availability and opening of additional high schools were noted; accessibility, openness and diversity of specialized classes; some "strong" schools managed to pull up more "weak" schools. Among the negative aspects of the association, the following are highlighted: the gap in continuity between various links: primary, secondary and senior; low psychological safety of participants in the educational process in educational complexes; the achievements of schoolchildren in different divisions of the educational complex and in different classes are uneven and can vary greatly; additional paid education for children is additionally costly for their parents; the possibility of undermining the psychosocial and age-related aspects of normal socialization and personal development of a student due to the heavy workload of academic subjects; disproportionate funding between the structural divisions of the complex; reduction of teacher rates; destruction of a unique director's corps (directors and his deputies within one school as an established team of professionals); loss of the individuality of the educational organization, established values and traditions; a preschool educational organization can become, as it were ,an "appendage" of the school; with a large number of children in the educational complex, the phenomenon of depersonalization can occur, students become a "gray mass" , etc. It is emphasized that not only economic and managerial efficiency is important, but also pedagogical. Education specialists need to take into account the existing shortcomings of already operating educational complexes in order, as a result, to achieve the goals and content of education, primarily for students.

Although technology had pervaded language teaching and learning long ago (the recorded tapes of the Audio-lingual method spring to mind here as a relevant example), the heavy dependence on communication tools, learning management systems, interactive applications and alike that occurred with the recent, pandemic-driven upset of social and educational life is unprecedented. Just as any other aspect of our lives in 2020, teaching and learning of languages at university in the traditional face-to-face mode were suspended and moved to an online environment, which, for better or worse, replaced well established methodological practices with, at times, experimental pedagogies, in an attempt to better adapt the process to the new online context, mode and consequent expectations of stakeholders – learners, teachers and educational management. The present paper investigates the process of transferring language classes at tertiary level to the online environment, as a consequence of the recent Covid19 pandemic. The approach is analytical, with emphasis on recording and highlighting main milestones, such as the jump from emergency education to a quasi-permanent state of affairs in 2021, when, at least to this moment, there is little hope language education at university will resume its place in the physical classroom any time soon. The purpose is to review particular aspects of language education in this transitional process, such as the need for curricular overhaul and its impact in the long run over how languages will be taught to students during lockdown periods or face-to-face interaction period.

The issue of "divine justice", which is the one of the most important doctrinal principles and a characteristic of the theological religions such Shiite and Mu'tazilite, in fact is one of the Perfect Attributes of Allah and due to its indescribable importance, it has a special place in doctrinal discussions. On the other hand, the existence of evils and calamities, poverty and deprivation, oppression and disease and moral corruption, and even the manner of punishment in the hereafter, always raises doubts in the human mind and calls into question Allah's justice. The generality of such suspicions has led Islamic thinkers to solve these problems in defense of divine justice. In this regard, the present study seeks to use the words of the fourth Shiite Imam in the divine invocations of the complete Sahifa Al_ Sajjadiyya, to achieve the theological foundations to solve some evil doubts in the realm of creation and the human world. The method of collecting materials in this research is library and the research method is "descriptive -analytical". After investigations, it became clear that from Imam Sajjad's point of view, neglecting and inclining the soul to the world and other than Allah, and consequently being caught in the trap of the devil and carnal soul, and contamination with sin and transgression, is the real evil. According to him, the divine test and punishment and return to the truth, the flourishing of talents and the appreciation of blessings are the benefits of evil and suffering. also meanings such as: the inherent richness of the Almighty, the bestowal of goodness and abundant blessings, the guidance of the servants to the good religion and the punishment of the same action in the prayers of Imam (A.S), all three types of genetic justice, legislative justice and criminal justice can be proved.

Are there moral constraints on the pursuit of the good? Our intuitions suggest that we may not use another person as a means to achieve a good outcome, even if that good outcome reduces the amount of using-as-a-means that occurs overall. These intuitions are assumed to be incompatible with consequentialism and to show the need for a deontological constraint on using others as a means. This assumption is a mistake. In this paper, I show that consequentialists can justify the same case-based intuitions that are thought to support a moral constraint on using others as a means.

Examining Seneca’s account of friendship produces an interpretative puzzle: if the good of the Stoic sage is already both complete and self-sufficient, how can friendship be a good? I reject the solution that friendship is simply a preferred indifferent instead of a good and argue that though Seneca’s account can consistently explain both why friendship’s nature as a good does not threaten the completeness or the self-sufficiency of the sage, Stoic friends must choose between intimate friendships that leave them vulnerable or impersonal friendships that lack intimacy but do not undermine their happiness. The consistent Stoic must choose the latter, but I argue that this conflict shows why we ought to reject the Stoic model of friendship.

El presente artículo proporciona una experiencia educativa a través de una investigación con enfoque cuantitativo. Se analizaron los conocimientos de los docentes sobre el Diseño Universal de Aprendizaje (DUA), sus aportaciones a la inclusión educativa y su implementación en el sistema educativo, considerando que el DUA se encuentra en una etapa de descubrimiento y reconocimiento en el Ecuador. De acuerdo con los principios metodológicos interpretativos y del problema a investigar, se situó en la investigación no experimental del tipo exploratorio descriptivo, a través de una recogida sistemática de los datos que admite el análisis descriptivo. Las técnicas utilizadas fueron documental y de campo, se realizó encuesta de opción múltiple dirigida a docentes, identificando el nivel de conocimiento del DUA en los procesos enseñanza aprendizaje; y una entrevista a una experta sobre las buenas prácticas del DUA en el país. Como resultado de la indagación sobre aportaciones exitosas del DUA estas son muy escasas en el sistema educativo ecuatoriano. Se propone, para que el Diseño Universal de Aprendizaje cumpla con sus principios y pautas, una formación masiva e integral a los docentes en esta metodología innovadora e incluyente. I investigate the normative and conceptual account of the relationship between public recognition and dignitarian, or egalitarian, commitments. I do so through addressing the normative dispute, sparked by legal cases such as Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission (2018) and Fulton v. City of Philadelphia (2020), as to whether there are dignitarian grounds for rejecting religious exemptions to antidiscrimination laws. I argue that there are such grounds. Specifically, I argue that, if granted, such exemptions would inflict dignitary harms against LGBTQ individuals by denying them the public recognition necessary for reliably sustaining civic self-respect. Such exemptions would deny this recognition in two distinct ways. First, such exemptions would institutionalize humiliation of LGBTQ individuals as market actors. Second, such exemptions would condition market access for LGBTQ individuals on unequal terms. Through making this argument, I hope to make three primary, and related, contributions: (1) I introduce a concept of civic self-respect; (2) I argue that the normative import of public recognition is grounded in the good of civic self-respect; and (3) I rely on this normative framework to show how religious exemptions to public accommodations laws inflict dignitary harms. My argument is relevant to both political philosophers and legal scholars grappling with questions of why public recognition matters and what it demands.

Several studies have demonstrated the importance of leadership in laboratory culture, but few have explored broader ethical issues that arise in managing a scientific laboratory or the values that have a bearing on those issues. To obtain some exploratory, qualitative data on ethical issues and values in managing a research laboratory, we conducted three focus groups with experienced investigators and laboratory managers. After validating the focus group transcripts for accuracy, two coders used deductive and inductive coding to develop themes from the text. Participants regarded ethics as important in managing a laboratory (or research group) for various reasons, ranging from conducting research with integrity to exhibiting leadership and promoting an ethical research climate. Participants identified many different types of ethical issues that arise in managing a research laboratory, including issues involving the management people, financial and material resources, projects, and data. An overarching ethical dilemma identified by participants was balancing the desire for productivity against apparently competing values, such as treating people fairly and promoting the wellbeing of individuals. Participants also indicated that graduate and post-graduate education and training did not prepare them to deal with the ethical, financial, interpersonal, and other issues related to managing a research laboratory, and that communication and leadership are crucial to managing a research laboratory ethically.

Anti-nihilist novel “The Possessed” was first conceived as a political pamphlet and therefore had a powerful satirical tendency, directed against the utilitarianism. The polemic against “ideas of avant-garde” constitutes the center of the theoretical conflict concerned the problem of the good and the esthetics. To resolve this issue, the author suggests the broad interpretation of the category of “the beautiful”, which forms after all a holistic vision of the “positive aesthetics” (V. Solovyov) presented in the monologues of Stepan Trofimovich Verkhovensky. The apotheosis in the development of this theme occurs in the pathetic hymn to the Beauty, pronounced at the «literary readings». The article puts forward an ontological interpretation of this speech. Considering beauty as an integral part of the triune idea (truth, goodness and beauty), one can come to the conclusion that the beautiful, understood as God (Dostoevsky) and the idea (Plato), is a creating, but not a created substance, and any of the good, accomplished on earth, has its cause in the eternally equal realm of harmony and only from there's derived. To confirm the original thesis, the author refers to the texts of V. Solovyov, N. Berdyaev and others. However, it's the dialogues of Plato (“Hippias Major”, “Symposium”, etc.), which stand as a theoretical ground of the interpretation and allow us to comprehend the category of the beautiful from a new perspective in its relation to the utility and the good.

O artigo tem por objetivo apresentar as base do pensamento filosofico de Nguyen Trai aplicando o metodo do materialismo dialetico sobre a analise dos conceitos-chave benevolencia e retidao. A partir de uma relacao interna desses conceitos, Nguyen Trai acredita ser possivel estabelecer uma conexao racional que favoreca a paz dos povos, atraves da compaixao e da tolerância, inclusive com os inimigos. The article uses the method of dialectical materialism and synthetic analysis to clarify the philosophical thought of Nguyen Trai. The paper describes that Nguyen Trai's benevolence and righteousness. That is a rational connection with the idea of people's favor and people's peace. Manifest in compassion, tolerance, and even enemies. Benevolence and righteousness are both a means and an end. Benevolence and righteousness express in the idea of building a peaceful country. Thereby, the article clarifies the meaning of life education for people, responsible lifestyle, and living for the community for today's Vietnamese generation.
