Coronavirus 2019 (COVID‐19) has caused violent fluctuation in stock markets, and led to heated discussion in stock forums. The rise and fall of any specific stock is influenced by many other stocks and emotions expressed in forum discussions. Considering the transmission effect of emotions, we propose a new Textual Multiple Auto Regressive Moving Average (TM‐ARMA) model to study the impact of COVID‐19 on the Chinese stock market. The TM‐ARMA model contains a new cross‐textual term and a new cross‐auto regressive (AR) term that measure the cross impacts of textual emotions and price fluctuations, respectively, and the adjacent matrix which measures the relationships among stocks is updated dynamically. We compute the textual sentiment scores by an emotion dictionary‐based method, and estimate the parameter matrices by a maximum likelihood method. Our dataset includes the textual posts from the Eastmoney Stock Forum and the price data for the constituent stocks of the FTSE China A50 Index. We conduct a sliding‐window online forecast approach to simulate the real‐trading situations. The results show that TM‐ARMA performs very well even after the attack of COVID‐19. Temporal dependency and mutual impact are two major aspects of the qualitative analysis of stock prices. Modeling the dynamic and complex nature of both the timeline and the mutual impact network is a challenging task for stock price prediction. Furthermore, if we want to capture the high-frequency changes of stock price, the time series will become extremely long, leading to a practical challenge in terms of modeling. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel memory-based hierarchical recurrent neural encoder (MHieR-encoder) to embed the time series of stock price into a new representation that preserves (i) the sequential dependency of the time series and (ii) the proximity relationships across stocks in the impact network. The hierarchical structure of the proposed model can easily capture the long-range dependence from an extremely long time series, including in terms of high-frequency prices. Moreover, to capture the dynamic mutual impact across stocks, the intermediate results of the impact network will be stored in the memory module to support further exploration at the training stage. The method is validated using an extremely long time series composed of the one-minute prices derived from the all the Chinese stocks. The results show that MHieR-encoder outperforms all the 8 baselines in the bull market, bear market, calm bull market and calm bear market, and significantly improves the accuracy to 52.2% in a three-class prediction: rising, falling and flat. Rice and potato are Chinese traditional foods. In this research, carbon footprints (CFs) of rice-based (RBSF) and potato-based (PBSF) staple foods were investigated. A great number of studies related to food CFs are often concerned about agricultural cultivation. However, the predominant source stage was cooking for the boiled potato and processing for the mashed potato in this research, accounting for 58.8% and 71.6% of their total CF, respectively. To support effective policies that reduce carbon emissions, assessments of the product CFs at a wider system boundary are more reliable. In addition, the types showed significant impacts on the food CFs, as the CF value of late indica rice was about 1.7 times more than that of early indica rice with a similar processing level. Therefore, adjustment of rice planting proportion and area could reduce agricultural carbon emissions. Sensitivity analysis showed that appropriately increasing the cooking amount in a batch enhances environmental benefits. When the cooking amount was reduced from four portions to one portion, the CF value was increased by 30%–45% for the RBSB and 89.5% for the boiled potato. On the other hand, different functional units were employed to evaluate the food CFs. CF values per functional unit for a same type of food varied greatly depending on the functional unit applied. Nutrient density (ND) based functional unit is more suitable to exactly reveal the environmental impacts of foods. When the ND based functional unit was used, CF values of polished rice and mashed potato indicated strong unsustainability. The results in this study showed that boiled potato consumed as the staple food is beneficial from both environmental and nutritional viewpoints. However, PBSF prepared by potato powder was not an eco-friendly food choice. Dissolved oxygen is one of the determinants in the healthy farming of Pelteobagrus vachelli. This study, we conducted quantitative proteomics on the juvenile P. vachelli livers using iTRAQ. P. vachelli were treated by 3.75 ± 0.25 mg O 2 /L (hypoxia group) and 7.25 ± 0.25 mg O 2 /L (control group) for 90 days. The results revealed that under hypoxic conditions, P. vachelli grew slower than control group. Proteomic profiling enabled us to identify 2618 proteins, of which 176 were significantly differentially abundant proteins (DAPs). Verification of protein regulation based on qRT-PCR indicated that the proteomics data were reliable. The top 20 significantly DAPs (10 up-regulated, 10 down-regulated) were primarily involved in energy metabolism, apoptosis inhibition, and heavy metal detoxification. KEGG pathway enrichment analysis revealed significant enrichment of 'protein digestion and absorption', 'glycolysis/gluconeogenesis', and 'phagosome'. Combining the proteomics results of short-term hypoxia (treated with 0.70 ± 0.10 mg O 2 /L for 4 h), we screened 36 common DAPs. The analysis of the 36 common DAPs indicated that P. vachelli responded to the hypoxia by regulating energy supply, inhibiting apoptosis, and disturbing defensive system. Our results lay a theoretical foundation for the cultivation of hypoxia-tolerant species and eco-breeding of P. vachelli. The hypoxia tolerance of Pelteobagrus vachelli is poor, which will seriously lead to its death in high-density culture. This study analysed the liver proteome of P. vachelli under long-term hypoxia stress (treated for 90 days at 3.75 ± 0.25 mg O 2 /L), and then combined the proteome results of short-term hypoxia stress (treated for 4 h at 0.70 ± 0.10 mg O 2 /L). The results showed P. vachelli responded to the hypoxia by regulating energy supply, inhibiting apoptosis and disturbing defensive system. The study contributes to the breeding of new hypoxia-tolerant species of P. vachelli and lays the theoretical foundation for eco-breeding.
