Kyme'ye yaklaşık 1 km uzaklıkta bulunan IDÇ Nekropolis’i, kentin güney nekropollerinden biridir. Bir bütün olarak değerlendirilmesi gereken Kyme Nekropolis’leri, sanayi şirketleri adı altında ayrı ayrı ele alınmak zorunda kalmıştır. Bu alanlardan biri de 2007 yılında İDÇ Liman Şirketi'nin arazisi üzerinde çalışmalarına başlanan ve adını bu şirketten alan İDÇ Nekropolis'idir. 2009 yılında yapılan kurtarma kazılarında gün yüzüne çıkarılan 125 numaralı oyma sanduka mezar çalışmamızın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Oyma sanduka mezar olarak değerlendirdiğimiz bu tip mezarlar, Aiolis bölgesine özgü bir mezar grubu olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bölgede yoğun bir şekilde ortaya çıkarılan bu tip mezarların tanımı konusunda araştırmacıların farklı terimler kullandıkları görülmektedir. Bu farklı yaklaşımlar 125 numaralı mezar bağlamında değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Mezarda; seramik, metal, cam ve diğer alt başlıklar altında incelemeye çalıştığımız toplam 23 adet buluntuya ulaşılmıştır. Bu buluntular, kozmetik kapları, aynalar, altın diademler, kolyeler, yüzükler, küpeler ve takı aksesuarları olarak değerlendirilen cam ve bronz objeler gibi geniş bir ürün yelpazesine sahiptir. Bu buluntular ışığında 125 numaralı mezar MÖ 4. yy sonu ile MÖ 3. yy başlarına tarihlenmektedir.

The primary objective of this study is to examine the relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, energy consumption, income inequality, and poverty within the framework of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) in 14 developed and ten developing countries over the period 2000–2018. We employed the Fourier unit root test and Dynamic Seemingly Unrelated Regression (DSUR) estimator to analyze the relationship between these variables. The results show that in developing countries, income inequality, poverty, and energy consumption positively affect CO2 emission. In contrast, in developed countries, there is no significant relationship between these variables. Moreover, we found out that the EKC hypothesis, which suggests an inverted U-shaped relationship between per capita income and CO2 emissions, is valid in developed countries and invalid in developing countries. We determined that the turning points obtained from regression analysis are outside of the sample period in five developing countries (Argentina, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Panama, and Uruguay). These results show that income inequality and poverty can indirectly affect environmental quality by energy consumption in developing countries.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’nin 1960-2010 dönemi için Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi (EKC) hipotezinin geçerliliğini test etmektir. Değişkenler arasındaki ilişki ARDL sınır testi ile Granger nedensellik testiyle araştırılmıştır. Analiz sonucu, EKC hipotezinin Türkiye için geçerli olduğu ve özellikle enerji tüketimi (EC), finansal gelişme (FD) ve dışa açıklığın (OP) karbondioksit (CO2) emisyonunu arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Nedensellik testi sonucuna göre, kısa dönemde FD’den CO2 emisyonuna, EC’ye ve GDP’ye doğru tek yönlü nedensellik belirlenmiştir. Uzun dönemde ise CO2 emisyonu ile EC, CO2 emisyonu ile ekonomik büyüme (EG) ve CO2 emisyonu ile FD arasında feed-back (geri-besleme) hipotezini doğrulayan bulgular elde edilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the interest rate and inflation rate in the context of Fisher hypothesis (1930) by using the data regarding Turkish Economy Differing from the available literature, the validity of Fisher hypothesis for Turkey was assessed according to the alternative interest rates (rediscount interest rate, deposit interest rate and the monetary policy interest rate ). The long-term relationship among variables was analyzed via ARDL bound test. As a result of this analysis, it was determined that a stronger Fisher impact is valid for Turkish economy when the monetary interest rate is based as interest rate.

The purpose of this study is to determine the validity of the triplet deficit hypothesis, which means the savings gap and budget deficit effect on the current account deficit. The empirical model is estimated for the G7 countries during the period between 1994 and 2011. The findings show that budget deficit and savings gap have important role in current account deficit in terms of estimator results. Moreover, bi-directional causality between the current account deficit and the savings gap and between the budget deficit and the savings gap are determined. So, especially the savings gap has an important effect on the current account deficit and the budget deficit. That is, triplet deficit hypothesis is valid in G7. Moreover, traditional approach is also valid since the causality is found between the current account deficit and budget deficit. Thereby, the authors conclude that the choice of statistical tools in analysing the nature of relationship among the current account deficit, the budget deficit, and the savings gap may play a key role for policy makers.

The purpose of this study is to research the effect of financial leverage ratios on Return on Equity (ROE). This research was carried out on the companies traded on İstanbul Stock Exchange on the base of five industries, IT, food, mining, textile and construction, using the financial leverage-and ROE ratios during the 22 years’ quarter period’s from 1991Q1 to 2012Q4. The data used in research were obtained from FİNNET Financial Analyse Program. The data were analysed in E-views 6.0 program using ARDL approach. For the results of estimation Microfit 4.1 software was applied. The results of this study reveal that financial leverage ratio affect the ROE in the industries IT, food, mining an d textile negatively but in the construction pozitively and that these effects are statistically significant.

Son zamanlarda merkez bankalari para politikasi stratejilerini, duruma gore politikalar yerine acikca belirlenmis kurallara dayali olarak belirleme egilimindedir. Merkez bankalarinin uyguladýklarý politikalarin tahmin edilebilir olabilmesinin en basit yolu, politika uygulamalarinin merkez bankasinin gelistirdigi basit kurallara gore yurutulmesidir. Merkez bankalarinca yurutulen para politikasinin daha fazla tahmin edilebilir kilinmasi, ekonomik birimleri politika surprizlerine karsi kendilerini garantiye almak zorunda birakmamakta ve politika uygulamalarinin topluma yansiyacak maliyetini azaltabilmektedir. Optimal bir politika kurali karmasik modellere dayali olabilmektedir. Fakat karmasik modeller, duruma gore politikalarin neden oldugu problemlerin cozumunu zorlastirabilir,hatta imkânsizlastirabilir. Cunku karmasik kurallar icin ihtiyac duyulan tum bilgi halk tarafindan takip edilemeyecektir. Taylor Kurali gibi basit kurallar ise daha kolay anlasilabilmekte ve uygulanabilmektedir. Bununla birlikte, Orijinal Taylor Kural’inda döviz kuru yer almamaktadir. Bu calismada ise, Taylor Kurali doviz kurunu da icerecek sekilde genisletilmistir. Bu nedenle, bazi gelismis ulkeler icin gecerli olan Taylor Kurali’ni Turkiye icin gecerliligini Genisletilmis Taylor bilgi setini olusturan degiskenler kullanilarak arastirilmasi amaclanmaktadir. Ancak, bu calisma mevcut literaturden farkli olarak Turkiye icin Taylor Kurali’nin gecerliligi cesitli faiz oranlarina gore model denemeleri yapilarak test edilmeye calisilacaktir. Bu amacla, arastirmada 1986:5-2010:9 donemini kapsayan aylik veriler kullanilarak VAR yontemiyle analiz yapilmistir. Yapilan analiz sonucu, her uc model icin olmasa da genelde Turkiye’de faizlerin Taylor Kurali’na bagliymis gibi hareket ettigi soylenebilir. Ayrica, para politikasi araci olarak MB’nin kisa vadeli krediler icin ongordugu reeskont faiz orani temel alinarak yurutuldugunde daha istenir sonuclar vermesinden dolayi politika yapicilarinin Turkiye icin bu politika seceneginin dikkate almasi gerektigi ifade edilebilir.

The main objective of this study is to determine factors influencing store preference of the store costumers in Erzurum in terms of some characteristics of the store and its product and costumers’ demographic characteristics (sex, age, marital status, level of education ) and their income level. In order to carry out this objective, Pearson chi-square test is applied to determine whether there is a relationship between the store preference and customer, stores, and some characteristics of products and a multinominal logit model is fitted by stepwise regression method to the cross-section data compiled from a questionnaire applied to 384 store costumers in the center of Erzurum province. According to the model estimation and test results, the variables of marital status (married), education (primary) and cheapness (unimportant) for Migros; education (middle) for Özmar and marital status (married) for the other stores are determined as statistically significant at the level of 5 percent

The purpose of this study is to determine the direction causality between nuclear energy consumption and economic growth in OECD countries. The empirical model that includes capital and labor force as the control variables is estimated for the panel of fourteen OECD countries during the period 1980-2007. Apart from the previous studies in the nuclear energy consumption and economic growth relationship, this study utilizes the novel panel causality approach, which allows both cross-sectional dependency and heterogeneity across countries. The findings show that there is no causality between nuclear energy consumption and economic growth in eleven out of fourteen cases, supporting the neutrality hypothesis. As a sensitivity analysis, we also conduct Toda-Yamamoto time series causality method and find out that the results from the panel causality analysis are slightly different than those from the time-series causality analysis. Thereby, we can conclude that the choice of statistical tools in analyzing the nature of causality between nuclear energy consumption and economic growth may play a key role for policy implications. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’deki finansal gelişme, ekonomik büyüme, kentleşme ve sanayileşmenin enerji tüketimi üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Bu amaçla, Türkiye’nin 1960-2012 dönemine ait yıllık veriler kullanılmıştır. İlk olarak, çalışmada kullanılan bu beş değişkenin birim kök içerip içermediği analiz edilmiştir. Kullanılan geleneksel birim kök testleri sonucunda seriler I(0) ve I(1)’dir. Geleneksel yöntemlere ilave olarak, çoklu yapısal kırılmalara izin veren birim kök testi de kullanılmıştır. Bu testin sonucunda tüm serilerin I(1) olduğu ve yapısal kırılma içerdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Seriler arasında uzun dönem ilişkisi olup olmadığını analiz etmek için ise çoklu yapısal kırılmalara izin veren eşbütünleşme testi kullanılmıştır. Bu testin sonucunda seriler arasında uzun dönem ilişkisi olduğu ve yapısal kırılma içerdiği tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak model, DOLS ve FMOLS ile tahmin edilmiş ve SVAR modeline dayalı etki-tepki analizi yapılmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonucu, Türkiye’deki enerji tüketimi üzerinde, sırasıyla, ekonomik büyüme, sanayileşme ve finansal gelişmenin öne çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Kentleşmenin ise fazla bir etkisinin olmadığı belirlenmiştir, The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of financial development, economic growth, urbanization and industrialization on energy consumption in Turkey. For this purpose, the annual data of Turkey for the period 1960-2012 was used in the study. First, it was analyzed whether these five variables used in the study contained a unit root. As a result of the traditional unit root tests series are I(0) and I(1). In addition to traditional methods, the unit root test that allows multiple structural breaks was also used. As the result of this test, it was found that all the series were I(1) and contained structural breaks. The cointegration test that allows for multiple structural breaks was used in order to analyze whether there is a long term relationship between the series. As the result of this test, it was found that there was a long term relationship between the series and the series contained structural breaks. Finally, the model was predicted through DOLS and FMOLS and an impulse-response analysis was performed based on the SVAR model. As the result of the analysis, it was determined that the effects of economic growth, industrialization and financial development were respectively prominent on the energy consumption in Turkey.
