Ferulago sandrasica Pe?men & Quézel was initially collected from Köyceğiz, which is endemic species for Turkey. The air dried herbal parts and roots were evaluated for their volatile compositions and antimicrobial activity. The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation, which were subsequently analyzed by GC-FID and GC-MS, respectively. The main components of the herb essential oil were identified as ?-pinene (26.4%), caryophyllene oxide (6.1%), camphene (5.1%), trans-verbenol (5%); whereas the root essential oil compounds were ?-pinene (27.9%), limonene (26.1%), ?-3-carene (14.2%), myrcene (7.6%), terpinolene (11%), respectively. In addition, the essential oils were evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial activity using a broth microdilution method against the human pathogens Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhimurium, Bacillus subtilis, and the yeasts Candida tropicalis, C. parapsilosis. The activity results showed that F. sandrasica was effective against the tested pathogens with the minimum inhibition concentrations (MIC) of 2.5-10 mg/mL.

Anahtar Kelimeler: Kalkınma, Bölgesel Gelişme, Kırsal Kalkınma, Tarımsal Yapı Throughout the historical period, as a requirement of the nature of economy, some disequlibrium had occurred and keep occurring both in international and national level. However, the growth in the unbalances between regions that appeared during this period causes social and economic problems by negatively inducing the efficient usage of resources, in the long term Rural development is an approach aiming to achieve a balance between rural areas and urban areas with respect to infrastructure!, economic, social, political and cultural disparities and to develop rural population in their own location. In rural development, macro projects take place as well as micro projects. The aim of development is generally upgrading the life standard of the community. Progress in the socio-economic objective is closely related to the chance of success of micro-level project. For the economic profitability of the activities wanted for development, well preparation and implementation of the micro projects is required. In Turkey, three rural development projects applied and completed until today could not achieve the expected success. The net success could not be measured in the projects where regional planning, which provides the harmony between the project applied and macro targets and the utilisation of existing opportunities, was neglected. By these projects, a decline in the rate of immigrations from the implementation regions was aimed as well. However these immigrations kept remaining as a consequence of not taking the wishes, needs and participation of the local population into consideration. In the projects, it was generally dealt with the productive aspect of agricultural activities while product evaluation and marketing aspects were ignored. Another important point of the projects is that, from minimum to maximum, wrong procedures, such as the adaptation of the standard, mono-type, pattern projects to the region which were prepared by the World Bank for many developing countries. In the rural development projects applied in our country, implementations to improve the agricultural structure were not given place and these projects were not implementedIV to regions where the Land and Agricultural Reform was applied. Besides, while rural development does not only mean agricultural development but also requires a multi-way approach including other sectors, it has always been considered as only agricultural development in our country. Bursa province is consisted of fifteen districts including the city centre. Apart from four districts, the other districts have Turkey's leading producers with respect to agricultural income, by the help of the advantages of the climate and fertile lands. Research area is the poorest part of Bursa province. The interviews were held in 18 villages 34.1% of the labour is not being used in the household. The average income difference between lowest income group and highest income group in the households were 24 times. Transportation which cause the migration is the main problem of the area, Therefore new economic activities has to be introduce in the research area. Key Words: Development, Regional Development, Rural Development, Agricultural Structure. 248

Ataluren is conditionally approved for nmDMD, in boys ≥ 5 years of age on steroid treatment with a 6-minute walk test (6MWT) ≥ 300m in Turkey. Our aim was to assess demographics and long-term motor functional outcomes of nmDMD patients. Among 45 patients with nmDMD, 26 males aged ≥ 5 years, with a follow-up period of at least 12 months were included. The 6MWT at baseline and every 6 months was the primary outcome measure. Time to rise from the floor, to climb and descend 4 standard-sized stairs, 10 m walk were secondary outcome measures. The median age at presentation was 36 (6-95) months. Presenting complaints were incidentally detected high serum creatine kinase (n=11, 42.3%), abnormal gait pattern and difficulty climbing stairs (n=9, 34.5%), motor developmental delay (n=2, 7.7%), motor and language developmental delay (n=1, 3.8%) and family history (n=3, 11.5%). The median age at clinical diagnosis was 44.5 (11-72) months. Clinically, 61.5% (n= 16) were diagnosed ≤ 4 years of age. The median age at genetic diagnosis, initiation of steroids and ataluren were; 65 (18-124), 60.5 (36-105.9) and 78.5 (60-126) months, respectively. Treatment was discontinued in 13 patients. Median duration of follow-up and Ataluren treatment were; 87.5 (25-149), 34.5 (7-76) months, respectively. At the last visit, 21 patients were ambulatory, and 5 patients were non-ambulatory. There was a significant difference in ambulatory vs non-ambulatory patients at the 1st year and the last assessments in terms of 6 MWT compared to the baseline (p=0.004, p=0.007, respectively). A significant negative correlation was found between the age of onset of Ataluren and the peak 6 MWT distances (rho=-0.456, p=0.019). Among the time function tests, the most significant increase was seen in stand from a sit position. Early diagnosis and initiation of treatment in combination with standards of care are effective in gaining and maintaining motor functions in nmDMD at a real-world setting. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CONGENITAL myasthenic syndromes , *WALKING speed , *MUSCLE fatigue , *NEUROMUSCULAR diseases , *NEUROMUSCULAR transmission - Abstract
Congenital myasthenic syndromes (CMS) are a heterogenous group of inherited disorders due to impaired neuromuscular transmission and fatigable weakness. Monitoring and measuring fatigue and fatigability in CMS is challenging especially in the pediatric age group, in the rare diseases setting and even with small number of patients within different genetic subgroups. The aim of this study was to determine whether the 6-minute walk test (6 MWT) predicts muscular fatigability in children with CMS. Eight children (4 males, 4 females), [COLQ, n= 5; CHRNE, n= 2; CHAT, n= 1] with a mean age of 11.75±3.54 years were retrospectively analyzed. Treatment regime included mono-or combination therapy including salbutamol, pridostigmin, ephedrine and 3,4-diaminopyridine. The distance and walking speed of each minute for 6 MWT were determined. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was used to compare the mean distance and walking speed in the 6 MWT. Body mass index of children was 17.78±5.98 kg/m2. The mean distance and walking speed of 6 MWT were 463.38±132.59 m and 1.29±0.37 m/s. There was no difference between the first minutes and the last minutes, between the first 2 and the last 2 minutes during 6 MWT in terms of distance and speed (p>0.05). The 6MWT which is suggested as an outcome measure for fatigability across neuromuscular diseases, did not provide additional evidence to predict muscular fatigue in CMS. This observation in this small series highlights the need for multidimensional assessment of fatigue and fatigability, combining validated questionnaires and objective measures of function with remote monitoring techniques and wearable devices. MOTOR ability in children , *MOTOR imagery (Cognition) , *DUCHENNE muscular dystrophy , *NEUROMUSCULAR diseases , *MOTOR ability - Abstract
Motor imagery (MI) ability has been studied extensively in healthy children and more recently in developmental coordination problems and cerebral palsy. It is a representation of the action of planning, execution and modulation of movement in the absence of any evident motor output. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of telerehabilitation-based motor imagery (Tele-MI) training on MI ability and motor function in children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This prospective, randomized controlled study included 23 children with DMD and 12 healthy children aged 7-15 years. The children with DMD were randomized into two; considering the age, corticosteroid use and the functional status as study (n=12) and control (n=11) groups. The study group received Tele-MI training and telerehabilitation-based physical therapy program (Tele-PTP) while the control group received only Tele-PTP for 8 weeks. MI ability was assessed by the Kinesthetic and Visual Imagery Questionnaire-10 (KVIQ-10) and motor function by Motor Function Measure (MFM) before and after the training. DMD and healthy subjects were similar in terms of demographics (p>0.05). KVIQ-10 scores of the DMD population (visual: 17.30±4.69, kinestehic: 13.04±4.01, total: 30.35±7.46) were significantly lower than the healthy peers (visual: 20.25±3.01, kinesthetic: 18.08±4.68, total: 38.33±5.87; p=0.003). In the within group analysis, significant improvements were determined in the KVIQ-10 total score (p=0.003) and MFM scores (p=0.026) only in the study group (p<0.05). Between groups, KVIQ-10 total score was improved in study group after the intervention (p=0.014). This study showed that MI training improved MI ability and motor function in children with DMD. Although functional improvements were achieved by Tele-MI training, it was not superior to Tele-PTP. Development and evolution of MI ability in pediatric neuromuscular diseases requires further research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The demand for energy in the world increases day by day. Because of the environmental damage and limited scale of fossil fuels, countries begin to supply their energy requirements from renewable energy sources and invest in renewable energy technologies. One of the alternative renewable energy sources is wind energy. In this study, we undescore the people's opinion who live around the wind power stations in Aydın. In this context, we conduct a survey face to face with 118 people living around turbines and present the survey results in this study. The individuals are conscious of environmental damage of fossil fuels and aware of the advantages of renewable energy sources. On the other hand, individuals have some drawback about wind power stations. Especially, they are uncomfortable from the noise emitted by wind turbines in the summer months when they live in mountain houses. Besides, individuals are in aggrement that having an exchange of ideas with locals during the setup and operation stages of wind power stations will strengthen the acceptance of the project by local community. Participants give countenance to renewable energy sources and technologies in general and display positive attitude. The raise in installation and commissioning of renewable energy stations will create employment area in rural areas and provide economic development. 105

To the best of our knowledge, no comprehensive ethnobotanical study has been reported from this province. Information was acquired through semistructured interviews and personal conversations using a questionnaire and numerous guided field trips with local knowledgeable people. For quantitative analyses and comparisons, recorded data such as informant consensus factor (F-IC) and use value (UV) were calculated, respectively. As a result of extensive field studies, 122 taxa were determined as folk medicines; 76 of were wild and 46 were cultivated. the identified medicinal plants were mainly from the family Rosaceae, followed by Compositae, Apiaceae, Lamiaceae, and Solanaceae, respectively. Among the preparations used, liquid forms such as infusions (30.2%) or decoctions (16.4%) represented the most favored ways to administer medicinal plants. Dermatological disorders had the highest F-IC score with a value of 0.75 followed by skeletomuscular (F-IC = 0.7466), gastrointestinal (F-IC = 0.6666), immunological (F-IC = 0.6615), and respiratory (F-IC = 0.6292) system disorders, among others. the most prominent medicinal plants were Urtica dioica (UV = 0.4352), Plantago major (UV = 0.3056), Rubus ulmifolius (UV = 0.2279), and Sambucus ebulus (UV = 0.2279). According to the present study, the number of people who recognize and use the wild plants of Duzce, and those of the rest of Anatolia, is steadily decreasing. the ethnobotanical knowledge cannot be passed to the next generation in its entirety if it is not properly recorded. in addition to this gradual loss of knowledge, modern information pollution and contamination via the popular media highlight the urgent need to record this precious knowledge before it is lost., Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK)Turkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK) [TBAG-108T253], This study was financially supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK Grant Number: TBAG-108T253). 1963 yılında imzalanan Türkiye - Avrupa Topluluğu (AT) Ortaklık Antlaşması ile başlayan Türkiye'nin elli yıldan fazladır süregelen Avrupa Birliği (AB) mali yardımları ile olan ilişkileri günümüze kadar devam etmiştir. Turkey's relationship with European Union (EU) financial support, ongoing more than fifty years which begins with Turkey – European Community (EC) Association Agreement signed in 1963, has come until now. By means of IPARD program latest applied on the agriculture and rural development base of this financial support, it is aided in order to reach the Community Standards in the fields of increasing productivity of the entities, quality and quality management, hygiene and food safety, animal welfare, veterinary controls, environmental protection and work safety. The aim of this paper is forming a general frame for the supports by revealing the demographic and other characteristics of supported entities in Bursa where is the one of the 42 cities IPARD program applied, and also performing descriptive research about the concept of rural development, quality and sustainability in these entities. 97 sample group determined by the purposeful sampling method was conducted questionnaire with complete inventory method, the results was analyzed by SPSS program. Three sesquiterpene lactones (centaurepensin = chlorohyssopifolin A, chlorojanerin and 13-acetyl solstitialin A) isolated from the aerial parts of Centaurea solstitialis L. ssp. solstitialis (Asteraceae) were investigated for antimicrobial and antiviral activities. For the antimicrobial. activity assessment, both standard and isolated strains of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans and C. parapsilosis were employed by the microditution method. Herpes simplex type-1, a DNA virus, and Parainfluenza, an RNA virus, were employed for the determination of the antiviral activity of these three sesquiterpene tactones using Vero cell tines. Ampicilline, ofloxocine, ketoconazole, fluconazole, acyclovir and oseltamivir were used as the reference drugs. 13-Acetyl solstitialin A displayed remarkable antibacterial activity against isolated strains of E. faecalis at 1 mu g/ml concentration, which was close to the effective concentrations of ampicillin. The same compound also showed significant activity against the DNA virus, being as potent as the reference compound acyclovir at maximum and minimum concentrations of 16

Ethnopharmacological relevance Sambucus ebulus L. has a very prominent place in Turkish folk medicine. Leaves of the plant are practiced externally to relieve rheumatic pain, to treat abscess, for wound healing and internally against hemorrhoids and stomachache. In a previous work, aqueous extract of the leaves was shown to possess potent antiulcerogenic activity on water immersion and immobilization-induced stress ulcer model in rats. This study aims to investigate the antiulcerogenic activity profile of the plant on various in vivo peptic ulcer models and gastric biochemical parameters and through bioassay-guided processing to isolate the active constituent (s) and to elucidate its structure. Materials and methods Among the subextracts obtained by successive solvent extractions from the MeOH extract of the leaves, the butanol subextract exerted significant antiulcerogenic activity against water-immersion and immobilization-induced stress ulcer model in rats as the bioassay model. This subextract was then subjected to successive chemical separation techniques (precipitation, column chromatography based on ion-exchange, silica gel and sephadex) and the activity of each fraction/subfraction was tested using the same bioassay model. After determination of active principles, further studies were performed on the active subextract by using various in vivo test models (ethanol-, serotonin-, pyloric ligation-induced ulcerogenesis) in rats as well as biochemical methods for the evaluation of antiulcerogenic potential. Results Bioassay-guided fractionation procedures yielded two flavonol glycosides as the active antiulcerogenic principles. The structures of these compounds were elucidated as isorhamnetin-3-O-monoglycoside and quercetin-3-O-monoglycoside by using 1H, 13C-NMR, and FAB-MS techniques. Conclusion This study has proven the folkloric use of Sambucus ebulus leaves for the treatment of gastric ailments in Turkish folk medicine. The antiulcerogenic activity of the two flavonol glycosides isolated in the present study was not previously reported elsewhere. Food security is a concept that has an increasing importance. To ensure food security all over the world has become an important target for many international organizations. Food security encompasses many factors from healthy and safe nutrition to political situation in countries; it is also the subject of many disciplines such as sociology and economics. To ensure food security is one of the most important steps for a country on the way to development.Because food security is related to many factors, its existence is hard to determine and cannot be determined by only local efforts. The increasing globalization of world trade causes food security to cease being only a local concept. Changes all over the world, crisis or changing consumption trends started to effect domestic food security. In this light, food security is a hard concept to achieve also hard concept to determine. Thus, the struggles to determine food security with quantitative measure are increasing. To display these methods and to choose the best one for the targets of the researches is one of the most important steps of determining food security. In this research, it is aimed to determine the food security situation in the world an in Turkey by using agricultural production and general economic indicators. The effect of these indicators on food security is examined and the targets for ensuring food security are tried to be set. Also food security concept which has not been able to find its place as an important subject in Turkey has been examined in detail. In addition to this, this study aims to offer a source for new studies on food security in the future. 102

The third article of the Rome Treaty, that regulates the activities that EU will perform, foresees to set up a system which will ensure the competition in the internal market not to degenerate. For this reason, in order to set up the system, EU competition laws are regulated between the 85th and the 94th articles of the Rome Treaty. In Turkey, statutes about competition law came into effect in 1994 and The Competition Agency was found after long lasting operations. The Law, in terms of extent, is unbiased against all areas and sectors, in other words, it does not imply economy’s any sector or part of it, is exempt from the law. The only solution to strengthen Turkey economically is to create an industry that has superior characteristics, globally competitive quality standards, and produces products that has a higher value added. Especially, in this period where the EU membership is on the agenda, to sustain the competitiveness of the already highly competitive food industry, is only possible by a management style that does not settle for the conditions it is in and always targets excellence.

The aerial part of Equisetum telmateia Ehrh. is used against various conditions including stomachache and peptic ulcer in Turkish folk medicine. In order to prove the claimed anti-ulcerogenic potential of the plant, aqueous and methanol extracts were prepared from aerial parts of E. telmateia and investigated for their anti-ulcerogenic effect on ethanol-induced gastric ulcer model in rats. Pharmacological experiments clearly demonstrated that the oral administration of both methanol and aqueous extracts of Equisetum telmateia Ehrh. plant showed significant stomach protection (77.9% and 100% ulcer inhibition, respectively) against the applied model of ulcerogenesis (P < 0.001). Since both extracts were found significantly active, 80% ethanol was preferred for the extraction of the plant material and this crude methanolic extract was further fractionated by successive solvent extractions with chloroform and H2O saturated n-BuOH to obtain the chloroform and n-BuOH extracts as well as the remaining aqueous extract. The 80% ethanol extract and the solvent extracts were then submitted to pharmacological assay using the same in vivo experimental ulcer model. All the extracts statistically showed potent anti-ulcerogenic effect on this model (P < 0.001). However, the remaining aqueous extract was found prominent (98.2% ulcer inhibition). Consequently, folkloric utilization of E. telmateia on peptic ulcer has been confirmed in the present study by using ethanol-induced experimental ulcer model in rats.

The guaianolide type sesquiterpene lactones chlorojanerin, 13-acetyl solstitialin A and solstitialin A were identified as the anti-ulcerogenic components of the chloroform extract of the aerial parts of Centaurea solstitialis ssp. solstitialis (Asteraceae). In this study, these compounds were investigated by using various in vivo ulcer models in rats and mice. Chlorojanerin was shown to be significantly effective in preventing the induction of lesions by ethanol- (EtOH-) (both oral and subcutaneous administration), indomethacin-, indomethacin plus HCI/EtOH-, N-G-nitro-L-ar.-inine methyl ester plus EtOH, N-ethylmaleimide plus EtOH-, water immersion and restraint stress, and serotonin, as well as inhibiting fitratable gastric acidity and acid output, and increasing gastric pH, but was ineffective in the prevention of ulcers induced by pyloric ligation, diethyldithiocarbamate, and cysteamine, and had no effect on gastric secretion volume or peptic activity. A mixture of 13-acetyl solstitialin A (95%) and solstitialin A (5%) was found to be significantly effective against EtOH-induced lesions on oral administration but was ineffective when administered subcutaneously. This mixture was also found to be effective in preventing lesions induced by EtOH, indomethacin, indomethacin plus HCl/EtOH, N-G-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester plus EtOH, N-ethylmateimide plus EtOH, water immersion and restraint stress, serotonin and cysteamine, as well as inhibiting fitratable gastric acidity and fitratable acid output, and gastric pH, but was found ineffective against the pyloric ligation-induced and diethyldithiocarbamate-induced ulcerogenesis models, as well as gastric secretion volume and peptic activity. On the other hand, active compounds did not show any toxic effect on acute toxicity (3 days administration) evaluation tests in mice. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.

11 ABSTRACT The first legislation on foreign capital in Turkey is the 6224 Foreign Capital Encouragement Law, which was accepted in 1954. The entry of foreign capital was encouraged after the January 24, 1980 decision and there has been an increase in foreign investment after the mentioned date. The increase, which went on until 1992, has calmed down after the economic crisis in 1994. However, the increase started again. The number of foreign investment companies was 3582 in 1996 and the number went up to 4500 by 2003. 90 % of the foreign investment allowed in Turkey is realized by the OECD countries. The rate of the EÜ member countries is 56 %. Among them, French is the highest leading country. The above mentioned legislation has been replaced by 4875 Direct Foreign Investment Law on 5 June, 2003, because of the reasons that the previous law did not answer the present requirements and protect the foreign investors' right in terms of international standards. Since the approval of 4875, 2300 foreign investment company have been established. In this study, the foreign investments in the world and in Turkey, the relation between the foreign investment and agriculture have been investigated and the foreign investment in the Turkish agriculture has been evaluated. 8 million dollars of the total 1208 million dollars during the first half of year 2003 was in agricultural sector. The share in total is 0.64 %. The shares of manufactured goods, services, and mining are 59 %, 30 % and 10 % respectively. The foreign investment in agriculture is the least foreign investment attracting sector when compared with the manufacture and mining sectors. The number of foreign investment companies in agriculture is around 200. The most important reason of the foreign investment number being so low in Turkey is that Turkey has the highest tax rate in the world and the size of the deficit economy is large. - Abstract
While trunk control is essential for daily activities and motor function, there is currently sparse information regarding the psychometric properties of the outcome measures used for assessing trunk control in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), characterized by proximal muscle weakness. The Trunk Control Measurement Scale (TCMS) was developed to assess trunk control in children with cerebral palsy. We aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the TCMS for children with DMD. We determined the functional level of 52 children with DMD (median age: 8.83 years) with the Vignos Scale, and we further evaluated them with the Motor Function Measure (MFM), a gold standard for determining the validity of the TCMS. Internal consistency of the Turkish TCMS was excellent with a Cronbach's alpha of .95. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) values for intra-rater reliability were between 0.90-0.96 and for inter-rater reliability were between 0.91-0.95. We reported positive moderate to strong correlations between the TCMS and trunk flexors strength ( p < .001, r = 0.77), back extensors strength ( p < .001, r = 0.68) and MFM ( p < .001, r = 0.85). Thus, we found the Turkish version of TCMS to be a reliable and valid instrument for assessing trunk control of children with DMD in clinical and research settings., Competing Interests: Declaration of Conflicting InterestsThe author(s) declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article.

- Abstract
Purpose: The North Star Ambulatory Assessment (NSAA) is a functional motor outcome measure originally developed for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The aim of this study was to perform the cultural adaptation and investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the NSAA (T-NSAA) in DMD., Methods: After translation process, internal consistency, interrater and test-retest reliability of the NSAA were determined by using the Cronbach Alpha Coefficient and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), respectively. Absolute reliability was determined by using the Standard Error of Measurement (SEM) with minimal detectable change at 95% limits of confidence (MDC
95 ). Lower limb functionality of children was evaluated by Vignos Lower Extremity Scale (VLERS). To establish convergent validity, the correlations between T-NSAA and Motor Function Measure (MFM-32), 6-minute walk test (6-MWT), and VLERS were analyzed by using the Spearman's correlation coefficient., Results: The study was completed with 86 patients with DMD whose age were mean 104.56 ± 24.66 months. The internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.94), intra-reliability (ICC = 0.977) and inter-reliability (ICC = 0.972) of T-NSAA were excellent. SEM and MDC values were low indicating satisfactory absolute agreement (< %10). The T-NSAA had strong correlations with the MFM-total score, 6-MWT, and VLERS (p < 0.01)., Conclusion: T-NSAA is a valid and reliable tool to assess ambulatory status of Turkish-speaking DMD population., Clinical Trial Number: NCT05549999, Date of registration: September 19, 2022., (© 2024. - Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the cognitive and emotional-behavioural outcomes of Turkish children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) in comparison with healthy peers, to determine its relationship with motor functions, and to analyse the difference of cognitive and emotional-behavioural outcomes according to the site of mutations., Method: Children aged 7-16 years with DMD (n = 68) and age-matched typically developing children (n = 33) were included in the study. The cognitive and emotional-behavioural status and the motor functions were assessed in detail. Children with DMD also divided into two groups as "proximal" and "distal" site mutation groups to compare the cognitive and emotional-behavioural outcomes., Results: The children with DMD and typically developing children were similar in terms of age and body mass index (p > 0.05). Significant differences were found between children with DMD and typically developing peers in almost all subtests of both cognitive and emotional-behavioural assessments (p < 0.05). Cognitive and emotional-behavioural parameters were weakly correlated with specific motor parameters responsive to cognitive functioning (p < 0.05). Children with distal site mutation performed significantly worser than those with proximal site mutation in particular cognitive subtest (p < 0.05)., Conclusions: It is concluded that comprehensive and detailed evaluation of cognitive and emotional-behavioural features of children with DMD is essential for better implementation of rehabilitation programs to maintain motor function which especially requires cognitive ability, since a Turkish cohort represented challenges in particular domains of cognitive and emotional-behavioural areas., Clinical Trial Registration Number: NCT05661071., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that there is no potential conflict of interest for the study., (Copyright © 2024 European Paediatric Neurology Society.
