日本红菇属非致死性胃肠炎型毒蕈，毒性较轻，患者预后良好。本文对2019年7月温州医科大学附属第一医院收治的一例日本红菇中毒致消化道出血患者的临床资料进行回顾性分析，患者中毒表现为典型的胃肠症状，出现严重消化道出血，最终经积极止血、护胃、补液、抗炎治疗后好转出院。.

The dwarf musk deer, or Chinese forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) is an endangered artiodactyl species native to a narrow region in southern and central China as well as northernmost Vietnam. This species is well known for the habit of male musk deer to secrete musk from the musk gland. Unmated male forest musk deer secrete a greater amount of musk than mated males, which probably allows them to attract a greater number of females. However, transcriptome data for this species are deficient, and the potential transcriptional pathways of musk production remain unknown. In this study, we used RNA-sequencing (RNA-Seq) to perform an in-depth survey of transcriptome data from musk gland and to compare the transcriptome differences between mated- and unmated sexually mature Chinese forest musk deer. There were 13,009 and 12,995 genes were expressed in unmated and mated musk glands tissue. In addition to analyzing these genes, we analyzed the differentially expressed genes in musk gland tissue between mated and unmated Chinese forest musk deer males. One hundred and thirty seven genes were found differentially expressed. We found that some genes in “PPAR signaling pathway”, “PI3K-Akt signaling pathway” and “Thyroid hormone synthesis” pathways may be associated with musk production and the secretion of the musk deer. The annotated genes and differentially expressed genes in this study can be applied in conservation or utilization study of musk deer in the future.

From September to November 2019, three patients with Hornet stings were admitted to hospital with acute anaphylaxis and various degrees of organ dysfunction. After hemoperfusion combined with continuous hemodialysis and hormone pulse therapy, 1 patient was successfully treated and 2 patients were not cured. Bee Stings can cause systemic allergic reactions and toxic reactions. In severe cases, acute anaphylaxis, rhabdomyolysis, intravascular hemolysis, abnormal coagulation, and acute liver and kidney injury may occur, myocardial damage and other multi-organ function damage or even failure, is a clinical acute and critical illness, mortality is higher. Through the analysis of the diagnosis and treatment process of these 3 cases, the experience is summarized: the Bee sting should be treated as soon as possible, the early prevention and treatment of multiple organ dysfunction, the choice of accurate blood purification and comprehensive treatment, can effectively improve the prognosis, increase the success rate of treatment.2019年9月至11月，至医院先后就诊收治3例被马蜂群蜇伤的患者，入院时均表现为急性过敏性休克，并伴有不同程度器官功能损伤。经过血液灌流合并连续型血液透析治疗，以及激素冲击等内科综合治疗，最终1例患者救治成功，2例不愈出院。群蜂蜇伤可引起全身性过敏反应及毒性反应，严重者可出现急性过敏性休克、横纹肌溶解、血管内溶血、凝血功能异常、急性肝肾功能损伤、以及心肌损害等多器官功能受损甚至衰竭，是临床上的急危重症，死亡率较高。群蜂蜇伤应尽早就医，早期防治多脏器功能不全，选择准确的血液净化及综合治疗，可有效改善预后，增加救治成功率。.

本文对2019年2月温州医科大学附属第一医院收治的2例急性重症氨基甲酸酯类农药中毒患者的临床资料进行分析。患者病情较重，出现呼吸衰竭及昏迷，最终经治疗好转出院。对于氨基甲酸酯类农药中毒，主要予抗胆碱能作用及脏器支持治疗。.

Sensing bitter tastes is crucial for most animals because it can prevent them from ingesting harmful food. This process is mainly mediated by the bitter taste receptors (T2R) that are largely expressed in the taste buds. Previous studies have identified some T2R gene repertoires. Marked variation in repertoire size has been noted among species. However, research on T2Rs is still limited and the mechanisms underlying the evolution of vertebrate T2Rs remain poorly understood. In the present study, we analyzed the structure and features of the protein encoded by the forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) T2R16 and submitted the gene sequence to NCBI GenBank. The results showed that the full coding DNA sequence (CDS) of musk deer T2R16 (GenBank accession No. KP677279) was 906 bp, encoding 301 amino acids, which contained ATG start codon and TGA stop codon, with a calculated molecular weight of 35.03 kDa and an isoelectric point of 9.56. The T2R16 protein receptor had seven conserved transmembrane regions. Hydrophobicity analysis showed that most amino acid residues in T2R16 protein were hydrophobic, and the grand average of hydrophobicity (GRAVY) was 0.657. Phylogenetic analysis based on this gene revealed that forest musk deer had the closest association with sheep (Ovis aries), as compared to cow (Bos taurus), Tursiops truncatus, and other species, whereas it was genetically farthest from humans (Homo sapiens). We hope these results would complement the existing data on T2R16 and encourage further research in this respect.

The aim of this work was to study the protective effect of polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) on high glucose-induced oxidative damage of H9C2 cells and to investigate the relationship between this effect and phosphatidyl inositol 3 kinase-serine/threonine kinase (P13K/Akt) signal transduction pathway.H9C2 cells were used as objects of study, 350 mM glucose serum-free medium was used as the high glucose molding condition, and LY294002 (10 μM) was used as the PI3K/Akt inhibitor. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to detect the cell viability, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay was used to detect the cytotoxicity, flow cytometry was used to detect the proportion of cell apoptosis, and Western blotting was used to detect the expressions of cell-associated proteins.Cell viability was reduced and cell apoptosis was increased by 350 mM high glucose. The high glucose-induced apoptosis was alleviated and the Akt expression in cells was increased by EGCG. The protective effect of EGCG was reduced after inhibition of PI3K/Akt pathway.EGCG protects H9C2 cells from high glucose-induced damage. EGCG plays the protective effect through inducing the PI3K/Akt pathway activation.

To investigate the correlation between serum advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP) and vascular calcification in uremic patients.The general data of included subjects were collected, and the serum AOPP, intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), creatinine (Cre), Urea, calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterin (LDL-C), hemoglobin (Hb) and albumin (ALB) were detected. Coronary artery computed tomography (CT) scan was performed and the coronary arterial calcification score (CACS) was calculated; the whole abdomen CT scan was performed and abdominal aortic calcification index (AACI) was calculated. SPSS l9.0 software was used for data analysis.The coronary artery CT and detection of serum indexes showed that AOPP in positive coronary arterial calcification group was significantly increased compared with that in negative coronary arterial calcification group (59.14 ± 14.57 vs. 37.59 ± 5.31) μmol/L. The whole abdomen CT and detection of serum indexes showed that AOPP in positive abdominal aortic calcification group was significantly increased compared with that in negative abdominal aortic calcification group (60.32 ± 15.43 vs. 39.57 ± 6.25) μmol/L. AOPP in severe calcification group was significantly higher than negative group (70.72 ± 18.18 vs. 39.57 ± 6.25) μmol/L. There were no significant differences in AOPP between hypertension and non-hypertension groups, diabetic nephropathy and non-diabetic nephropathy groups. Correlation analysis showed that AOPP of uremic patients had a significantly positive correlation with logl0[CACS+1] and had a significantly positive correlation with inferior AACI.AOPP in positive coronary arterial calcification group and positive abdominal aortic calcification group was higher than that in negative group and AOPP in severe calcification group was significantly higher than that in negative group. AOPP of uremic patients has a significantly positive correlation with CACS and AACI.

Graphene/TiO2 (GR/TiO2) composite powders were prepared by co-precipitation method, and their morphology, structure and photocatalytic property were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction and ultraviolet spectrophotometer, respectively. The experimental results show that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 is significantly improved by GR. When the content of GR in the composite powder is 7.88%, the GR/TiO2 composite powders treated at 500°C display the good photocatalytic performance in which the degradation volume of methyl orange (MO) approaches 100% within 120 min. The improvement for photocatalytic properties of TiO2 is attributed to the special structure and excellent electrical properties of GR.

 Abstract—The phonon dispersion relations and density of states of the nitrides BN, AlN, GaN and InN in the wurtzite structure are investigated by using separately the local density approximation (LDA) and the generalized gradient approxi- mation (GGA) within the framework of density functional theory. The results show that the highest optical phonon frequency at the Brillouin zone center decreases, but the phonon band gap increases, with increasing the cation/anion mass ratio. The frequencies calculated with GGA are lower than those with LDA. The GGA is more suitable for AlN and GaN, but the LDA for BN and InN. dynamical properties of the GaN, AlN, BN and InN by the first-principle calculation based on the density functional theory. The exchange-correlation potentials in the local density approximation (LDA) (12) and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) (13) are separately used in the calculations. The optimum plane-wave energy cut-off has been tested carefully by keeping the total energy error less than 0.001 Hartree, and is determined as 45 Ryd for all these compounds. A 3  3  3 Monkhorst-Pack mesh and ten special k point have been used to perform the Brillouin zone (BZ) integration. The self-consistent convergence of the total energy is taken to be 10 -6 eV/atom, in order to obtain accurately the phonon dispersion curves. Moreover, a 444 q mesh is employed for the force constant calculation in the first BZ by interpolation. The whole calculation is carried out by using the Quantum ESPRESSO code (14), and the calculated results of the phonon frequencies and densities of states (DOS) are shown in Fig. 1 to Fig. 4. III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION To obtain the equilibrium lattice constant a, c and the internal geometrical constant u, we fit the energy versus volume curves to the Murnaghan equation of state. Table I lists the calculated values of the structural parameters in this work. It is seen that our results are in good agreement with the previous theoretical and experimental values.

$\mathrm{R}{\mathrm{h}}_{2}\mathrm{M}{\mathrm{o}}_{3}\mathrm{N}$, with a noncentrosymmetric $\ensuremath{\beta}$-manganese structure, has been found to be superconducting with critical temperature ${T}_{c}\ensuremath{\approx}4.3\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$. Magnetic field dependence of resistivity, magnetization, and specific heat measurements show that its upper critical field of ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{0}{H}_{c2}^{*}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}\ensuremath{\sim}7.41\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{T}$ comes close to, but does not exceed, the Pauli paramagnetic limit and that the $2\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}/{k}_{\mathrm{B}}{T}_{c}$ value of about 3.62 is in accordance with a conventional $s$-wave superconductor. Andreev reflection spectroscopy measurements using both normal metal and half-metal show conclusively $s$-wave pairing with an isotropic gap.

To observe the effect of Ulinastatin (UTI) in the dynamic changes of aquaporin 4 (AQP4) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in the brain tissue injury of acute hydrogen sulfide (H2S) intoxicated, to explore the Mechanism of brain tissue injury of acute H2S-intoxicated and the protection effect of UTI.A total of 96 SD rats of clean grade were divided randomly into four groups: normal control group (NS group, n=8) , UTI control group (UTI group, n=8) , H2S-intoxicated model group (H2S group, n=40) , UTI treatment group (H2S+UTI group, n=40). The H2S group and H2S+UTI group were exposed to H2S (284 mg/m(3)) by inhalation for 1 h, then H2S+UTI group was intraperitoneally exposed to UTI at the dose of 10(5) U/kg for 2 h, H2S group and H2S+UTI group were sacrificed at 2, 6, 12, 24 and 48 h after exposure, respectively. Remove the brain tissue, observe the rats behavioral changes at each time points. The mRNA expression of AQP4、COX-2 and NSE in the brain tissue were measured by RT-PCR method, and the protein expression of AQP4、COX-2 and NSE in the brain tissue were detected by immunohistochemical Streptavidin-perosidase method. Pathological changes of brain tissue were observed by lightmicroscope.1、Nerve cells in the H2S group rats had edema, degeneration, focal inflammatory cell infiltrate, capillary hyperplasia, expansion. Compared with NS group, the cerebral NSE mRNA and protein expression at each time point in H2S group after exposure were significantly increased (P0.01). 2、Compared with NS group, the cerebral AQP4 and COX-2 mRNA and protein expression at each time point in H2S group after exposure were significantly increased (P0.01). 3、The degree of brain damage was significantly decreased in H2S+UTI group than that in H2S group. Compared with H2S group, the cerebral NSE mRNA and protein expression at 6, 12, 24 and 48 h in H2S+UTI group after exposure were significantly decreased (P0.01) , no significantly difference at 2h (P0.05). 4、Compared with the H2S group, the cerebral AQP4 and COX-2 mRNA and protein expression at 6, 12, 24 and 48 h in H2S+UTI group after exposure were significantly decreased (P0.01) , slightly decreased at 2 h.The mechanism of brain injury of acute hydrogen sulfide intoxicated associated with abnormal expression of the cerebral AQP4, COX-2 levels. Intervention of UTI can reduce the cerebral AQP4 and COX-2 levels after hydrogen sulfide intoxicated, reduce the degree of brain injury.

The amino acids in royal jelly (RJ) have a wide range of pharmacological and health-promoting functions in humans. Multiple studies on the amino acid quality and composition in RJ have investigated RJ harvested at 72 h after larval transfer. In contrast, the concentration of amino acids in RJ harvested before 72 h remains unknown. In this study, the concentration of free amino acids (FAAs) and total amino acids (TAAs) in RJ harvested at 13 time points between 24 and 72 h after transfer of ten Apis mellifera colonies were measured. Our results indicated that the most abundant FAAs were Pro, Phe, Lys, Glu, and Tyr, whereas the most abundant TAAs were Asp, Glu, Leu, Lys, and Val. The total FAA concentration in RJ increased with increasing harvest time, from 4.30 mg/g at 24 h to 9.48 mg/g at 72 h. In contrast, the variation in concentration of TAAs observed was a decrease-increase-decrease trend with 40 h (149.53 mg/g) and 52 h (169.62 mg/g) as inflection points. The highest and lowest concentrations of TAA were 197.96 and 121.32 mg/g at 24 and 72 h, respectively. To our knowledge, this is the first study to investigate the concentration changes of FAAs and TAAs prior to 72 h after transfer. Our results will provide theoretical support to guide production practices of beekeeping, as well as elucidate the relationship between the harvest time point and RJ content.

Under hydrostatic pressure, the polaron effect on the binding energies of excitons in quantum wells is discussed by a variational method by considering the influence of finite barriers and the coupling of an exciton with bulk confined longitudinal optical, half space longitudinal optical and interfacial optical modes. A quasi- two dimensional Lee-Low-Pines like unitary transformation is adopted to deal with the exciton-phonon interaction and the pressure dependence of physical parameters is also taken into account in the calculation. As an example, the numerical computation is applied to the GaAs/Alx Ga1–xAs quantum wells. The result shows that the exciton binding energies increase with presure from 0 to 40 kbar. The maximum energy shift is about 21% for the given quantum well width and Al concentration x = 0.15. The exciton-phonon interaction energies also increase with pressure and the effects of three kinds of different exciton-phonon interactions are discussed in detail for different widths of quantum wells. The binding energies of excitons in finite barrier quantum wells under hydrostatic pressure are calculated by a variational method. The influences of hydrostatic pressure on the effective masses of the electron and hole, the dielectric constant, and the conduction band offset between the well and barriers are taken into account in the calculation. The numerical results for the GaAs/Al x Ga 1-x As and GaN/Al x Ga 1-x N quantum wells are given respectively. It is shown that the exciton binding energy increases linearly with the pressure and the pressure effect on arsenide quantum wells is more obvious than that on nitride ones. The exciton binding energies monotonically increase with increasing barrier height, which is related to the Al concentration of the barriers and the influence of the pressure.

A variational method is used to investigate the binding energies of bound polarons near the interface in a GaAs/Al x Ga 1-x As heterojunction by considering the hydrostatic pressure effect. It is found that the comprehensive pressure effect on the heterojunction factors increases the binding energies near linearly. The pressure influence on the binding energy for the impurity located on the channel side is stronger than that for the impurity located on the barrier side. The pressure effect is more obvious when the impurity is located on the channel side and is not so far from the interface. The pressure influences on the longitudinal optical phonons and interface optical phonons are discussed.

To examine MRI changes resulting from treatment of secondary progressive MS (SPMS) with two doses of interferon-beta-1a (Rebif).Interferon-beta (IFN-beta) reduces relapses and delays progression in relapsing-remitting MS, but there are conflicting results on its clinical benefit in SPMS.In a double-blind, randomized, multicenter, placebo-controlled study (SPECTRIMS), 618 patients received IFN-beta-1a 22 microg, 44 microg, or placebo subcutaneously three times weekly for 3 years. T2 activity and burden of disease (BOD) were measured in 617 patients by using semiannual proton density/T2-weighted (PD/T2) MRI scans. A cohort of 283 patients also had 11 monthly PD/T2 and T1-weighted gadolinium-enhanced (T1-Gd) scans at study start.Treatment reduced median numbers of active lesions per patient per scan (semiannual T2 activity: 0.17, 0.20 and 0.67 for the high dose, low dose, and placebo, p0.0001; monthly combined unique activity [T1+T2]: 0.11, 0.22, and 1.00, p0.0001) and accumulation of BOD (percent change from baseline to month 36: -1.3, -0.5, and 10.0 for the high dose, low dose, and placebo, respectively; p = 0.0001). MRI benefit was most evident in the subgroup of patients who reported relapses in the 2 years before the study. Neutralizing antibody development was associated with reduction in treatment effect: antibody-positive patients did not show significant differences from placebo at either dose.Interferon-beta-1a used in SPMS showed significant effects on all MRI measures, particularly in patients with relapses in the 2 years before the study.

The susceptibility of Escherichia coli B to the antibacterial activity of silver ions was measured in terms of the initial inhibitory concentration, complete inhibitory concentration, postagent effect for bacteriostatic susceptibility, minimum bactericidal concentration, maximum tolerant concentration, and log killing time for bactericidal activity. At a concentration of 9.45 μM and an inoculum size of 10 CFU ml, silver caused growth delay of E. coli; at a concentration of 18.90 μM, silver completely inhibited bacterial growth. Prolonged postagent effects ranged between 1.5 and 12 h at 0.75 x the initial inhibitory concentration, 1.0 x the initial inhibitory concentration, and 1.5 x the initial inhibitory concentration of the silver ion. One log-unit of viable bacterial population size was lost every 30 min at the minimum bactericidal concentration of the silver ion. Silver tolerance was determined as 20 times the initial inhibitory concentration with 48 h of exposure. This study presents an evaluative model as a reference for the quantitative analysis of the susceptibility of bacteria to silver ions. © Rapid Science 1998.

Background: The 2005 and 2010 McDonald criteria utilize magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to provide evidence of disease dissemination in space (DIS) and time (DIT) for the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in patients who have clinically isolated syndromes (CIS). Methods: Data from 109 CIS patients not satisfying the 2005 criteria at entry into a randomized controlled minocycline trial were analyzed to determine the proportion who would have been diagnosed with MS at screening based on 2010 criteria. The impact of including symptomatic, as well as asymptomatic, MRI lesions to confirm DIT was also explored. Results: Thirty percent (33/109) of patients, retrospectively, met the 2010 criteria for a diagnosis of MS at baseline. When both symptomatic and asymptomatic lesions were used to confirm DIT, three additional patients met the 2010 criteria. There was a significant 10.1% increase in the proportion of patients who met the 2010 DIS criteria, compared with the 2005 DIS criteria; however, two patients satisfied the 2005 DIS but not 2010 DIS criteria. Conclusion: Using 2010 McDonald criteria, 30% of the CIS patients could be diagnosed with MS using a single MRI scan. Inclusion of symptomatic lesions in the DIT criteria further increases this proportion to 33%.

A passively mode-locked Tm,Ho:YAP laser around 2.1 μm wavelength employing a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror is demonstrated. Stable continuous wave mode-locking operation was achieved at variable center wavelengths of 2036.5 nm, 2064.5 nm, 2095.5 nm, 2103.5 nm, and 2130 nm, respectively. Pulses as short as 40.4 ps were obtained at 2064.5 nm with a spectral FWHM of 0.5 nm at output powers of 132 mW and a repetition rate around 107 MHz. A maximum output power of 238 mW was obtained at 2130 nm with a pulse duration of 66 ps.

Respirable dust surveys were performed in two longwall faces employing a bidirectional cutting pattern. Both mobile and stationary sampling techniques using Real-Time Aerosol Monitors (RAMs) were used. The overall respirable dust concentration generated during tail-to-head cutting is lower than that during head-to-tail cutting, but the difference in respirable dust concentration between both cutting directions in the walkway is insignificant. A two-dimensional (2-D)/two-phase gas-solid particle-diluted suspension model was developed and validated with field measurements. An underground dust sampling method is described in detail and sampling results are highlighted. The 2-D/2-phase model features and model derivation are discussed and its prediction trends are correlated with the field data.

In this work, the electronic band structure and the effective mass of the ternary alloy GaxIn1-xP are studied by the first principle calculations. The software QUANTUM ESPRESSO and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) for the exchange correlations have been used in the calculations. We calculate the lattice parameter, band gap and effective mass of the ternary alloy GaxIn1-xP for the Ga composition x varying from 0.0 to 1.0 by the step of 0.125. The effect of the Ga composition on the lattice parameter and the electronic density of states are discussed. The results show that the lattice parameter varies with the composition almost linearly following the Vegard's law. A direct-to-indirect band-gap crossover is found to occur close to x = 0.7. The effective masses are also calculated at Γ(000) high symmetry point along the [100] direction. The results show that the band gap and the electron effective mass vary nonlinearly with composition x.

First-principles calculations have been carried out to investigate the structural and electronic properties of MgxZn1-xO ternary alloys. The calculations are performed using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW) method within the density functional theory(DFT). We conclude that the structural properties of these materials, in particular the composition dependence on the lattice constant and the band gap is found to be linear. The a-axis length in the lattice gradually increases, while the c-axis length decreases with the increase in Mg doping concentration, and be corresponded with the Vegard's law linear rule. The lattice parameters of the MgxZn1-xO ternary alloys are consistent with experimental data and other theoretical results. We found in the conduction band portion, the Mg 2p 2s states are moved to high energy region as the Mg content increases, so the band gap increases.

The lattice and electronic structure of beryllium doped zinc oxide (BexZn1-xO) ternary mixed crystal are studied by the first-principle calculations within the framework of the density functional theory (DFT). It turned out that the lattice parameter a and lattice parameter c decrease linearly as Be doping concentration increases, compliance with Vegard's law, the lattice parameters of the BexZn1-xO ternary mixed crystal are consistent with experimental results. Band gap increases with increasing Be content, and the band gap values are corrected. As Be doping, Zn 4s states dominate the conduction band and the conduction band bottom position constantly moving to higher energy region. Density of states strength Zn 4s states with decreasing proportion of Zn is constantly reduced, make the band gap width of BexZn1-xO increases.

We calculate the band structure, density of states, phonon dispersions and thermodynamic properties of wurtzite Aluminum nitride (AlN) using the local density approximation (LDA) and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). The results show that wurtzite AlN is a direct gap semiconductor. The phonon, dielectric, and thermodynamic properties are discussed in detail. The calculated values are in agreement with available experimental data.

To study the effect of collagen/hydroxyapatite(CHA) instead of autogenous bone transplantation on repairing the mandibular defects.Ten Chinese experimental minipigs were made 2 cm bone defects in diameter in the mandible. The experimental group was implanted CHA, while the control group was implanted autogenous bone. The basic parameters of bone dynamics were determined by bone metrology.There was remarkable difference between the two groups in the mean distance and mineralization apposition rate of double label bands marked by tetracycline(P0.05), while the mean osteoid seam width and mineralization lag time had no remarkable difference(P0.05). It suggested that CHA had good osteogenesis. The collagen in CHA offered the condition of bone mineralization, and the mineralization peak of experimental group was present at 4 weeks earlier than that of control group (8 weeks).CHA may be a substitute of autogenous bone transplantation in repairing the mandibular defects, and the second operation for offering the implanting bone is avoidable, therefore, CHA may be an ideal material to repair bone defects.

In this article, by using the first principle calculations based on the density functional theory, we present a detailed investigation of the energy band and density of states of armchair graphene nanoribbons (AGNRs) with bare and H-terminated edges. Based on the structural optimization results, we compute the energy band and density of states of considered nanoribbons. The results show that there is a direct band gap for bare and H-terminated edges AGNRs, and indicate AGNRs have semiconductor properties for both cases our calculated. There are localized states turns up at -2.520eV for the case of bare edges, after modification of hydrogen atoms, the localized states disappeared, the band gap is widened form 0.535eV for the bare edges to 0.722eV for H-terminated edges, at the same time, and the energy band degeneracy appeared.

Lattice parameters and band structure of the ternary mixed crystal AlxGa1-xAs of zinc blende structure are calculated by first-principle calculations within the framework of the density functional theory. The results for the equilibrium lattice parameters and band gaps of AlxGa1-xAs for the Al-composition varying from 0.0 to 1.0 by step of 0.125 are presented and discussed. The results show that the lattice constants vary with the composition almost linearly following the Vegard's law. The electron band gap at Gamma; point exhibits non-linear behavior versus the composition. The Al-3s, 3p states shift to high energy region in the conduction band with increasing the Al concentration. It leads to an increase of the band gap and the blue shift phenomenon.

The electronic band structure and phonon dispersion of wurtzite BN are studied by the first principle calculations. The local density approximation (LDA) and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) exchange-correlation potentials are applied in the calculations and compared. The computational results for the band structure and density of states with indirect band gaps as well as the phonon dispersive curves and density of states are obtained. The corresponding dielectric and thermodynamic properties are discussed. The conclusions are consistent with other theoretical results and experimental data.

The analysis software, FLAC3D, was used for simulation of Nong'an oil shale mining according to the three-dimensional fast Lagrangian algorithm. A simulation study involving drilling hydraulic mining methods for different borehole spacings in the Nong'an oil shale mining area was conducted. The best mining scheme was selected in terms of safety factors and economic benefits, and used for the analysis of the vertical displacement and ground surface settlement of the oil shale area. Drill hole spacing was identified as a key factor for the coefficient of borehole hydraulic mining based on the general relationship between the coefficient and borehole spacing. The optimal mining hole spacing was 25 m, and the distribution regularities of the vertical displacement of the surrounding rock near the excavation and earth surface were observed. The results showed that FLAC3D can simulate and analyze the oil shale hydraulic mining process and is an effective and suitable method for oil shale exploitation research.

To determine whether the efficacy of interferon beta-1b (IFNbeta-1b) on lesion activity could be shown with annual analysis of MRI.Clinical outcomes and MRI burden of disease changes in MS patients in a multicenter double-blind placebo-controlled 5-year trial of IFNbeta-1b have been reported, together with an analysis of 6-weekly MRI activity in a small subgroup during 2 years. MRI activity measurements based on annual scans have not been documented.Patients were randomized into three treatment arms: placebo, 1.6 mIU, and 8 mIU IFNbeta-1b self-administered subcutaneously every other day. Active lesions were identified as new, enlarging, or recurrent on proton density and T2-weighted MRI scans. Gadolinium was not used. An annual accumulation activity index was developed as an additional analysis of lesion activity.During the 5 years, both high- and low-dose IFNbeta-1b groups showed a striking reduction in lesion annual accumulation activity on the activity index versus placebo (p = 0.001). Thirty-five percent of the high-dose patients and 29% of the low-dose patients were MRI inactive by this method of analysis, whereas only 16% of placebo patients were inactive (p = 0.001, placebo versus 8 mIU).This analysis of the annual accumulation of lesion activity shows that the previously reported treatment effect seen on MRI scanning once every 6 weeks in a subcohort of the patients can also be seen on yearly scans. This annual accumulation activity analysis provides an independent MRI confirmation of a treatment and dose effect for IFNbeta-1b.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to monitor cyclosporine therapy for chronic progressive multiple sclerosis in a multicenter clinical trial and an analysis was performed to determine whether there was a correlation between clinical changes and MRI changes. MRI was performed on 163 patients at the onset and completion of the 2-year study. Burden of disease (BOD, lesion load) was quantitated by a single observer using a computer program. Active lesions were also identified. The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score was determined every 3 months MRI data did not show any effect of cyclosporine treatment on BOD progression (mean 24.5% increase/yr) or lesion activity. However, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the baseline total BOD value and the baseline EDSS score (r = 0.221, p = 0.005) and a positive correlation between the percent changes in BOD from baseline to exit and EDSS score (r = 0.186, p = 0.018). The study supports the concepts that MRI is a useful technique in monitoring therapeutic trials and that MRI is a direct measure of pathology.

In this paper, graphene/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (GM) hybrid nanostructure was synthesized by modifying GR using salicylamide. Cu -doped ZnO nanoparticles were successfully decorated on GR/MWNTs hybrids (GM). Their photocatalytic performance for the degradation of methyl orange (MO) was investigated and the results showed that the synthetic GM/ Cu -doped ZnO hybrids exhibited better photocatalytic ability than MWNTs/ Cu -doped ZnO and GR/ Cu -doped ZnO hybrids, in which the degraded rate for 20 mg/L MO solution reaches about 100% in 45 min.
