Family farms, considered the most desirable form of Chinese agriculture, play a pivotal role in promoting rural revitalization and agricultural modernization. The purpose of this study was to summarize the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of family farms to better promote the development of modern agriculture. Using provincial demonstration family farms in the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (MYR-UA) as the research object, this study applied the nearest neighbor index, kernel density analysis, multiscale spatial clustering analysis (Ripley’s K-function), and geographically weighted regression (GWR) model to reveal the spatiotemporal dynamic evolution and influencing factors of family farms. The results indicate that: 1) from 2013 to 2021, family farms exhibited annual increases, and their development stages could be divided into rapid, stable, and slow growth periods. 2) The spatial agglomeration pattern of family farms was significant, and the intercepted points at different time periods show the distribution characteristics of the entire dispersion and local concentration. The spatial evolution characteristics of different types of family farms are nearly consistent with those of the overall family farms. 3) The overall family farms and various types of family farms show a scale effect, which first strengthens and then weakens with the change in geographical distance. 4) The spatial pattern of family farms in MYR-UA is affected by both natural and social factors, of which, social factors had the greatest influence. Finally, based on the findings of the study, policy recommendations for promoting the high-quality development of family farms are proposed.

The hydrogen potential is one of the parameters of the water which is variable in rivers throughout their journey over the cities, so the objective of the work was to monitor (from the cloud) the pH of the Upamayu river waters (Huancavelica region), located in the Central Andes of Peru. An electronic system was implemented, comprising: DS18B20 temperature sensor, 4502C pH sensor, ESP32 controller, NEO 6M GPS global positioning system, LabVIEW NXG platform, in addition to the web server developed in ThingSpeak. The measurements were established under the protocol for water resources of Peru. As a result, a pH monitoring system of the waters of the river under study was verified. Through the sensors, it takes the data and sends them to the web server located in the cloud via the implemented algorithm. The data read from any remote place through an application implemented in LabVIEW NXG, representing the monitoring station on a GIS map. It was concluded that the values of the hydrogen potential are different in relation to its territorial distribution and in the dry season. Varying pH after the discharge of polluting sources of the population and the places of cattle raising was found; likewise, regeneration of the waters at a certain distance was shown.

Severe water pollution and resource scarcity is a major problem in China, where it is necessary to establish water quality-oriented monitoring and intelligent watershed management. In this study, an effective watershed management method is explored, in which water quality is first assessed using the heavy metal pollution index and the human health risk index, and then by classifying the pollution and management grade based on cluster analysis and GIS visualization. Three marine reserves in Tianjin were selected and analyzed, namely the Tianjin Ancient Coastal Wetland National Nature Reserve (Qilihai Natural Reserve), the Tianjin DaShentang Oyster Reef National Marine Special Reserve (DaShentang Reserve), and the Tianjin Coastal Wetland National Marine Special Reserve (BinHai Wetland Reserve) which is under construction. The water quality and potential human health risks of 5 heavy metals (Pb, As, Cd, Hg, Cr) in the three reserves were assessed using the Nemerow index and USEPA methods. Moreover, ArcGIS10.2 software was used to visualize the heavy metal index and display their spatial distribution. Cluster analysis enabled classification of the heavy metals into 4 categories, which allowed for identification of the heavy metals whose pollution index and health risks were highest, and, thus, whose control in the reserve is a priority. Results indicate that heavy metal pollution exists in the Qilihai Natural Reserve and in the north and east of the DaShentang Reserve; furthermore, human health risks exist in the Qilihai Natural Reserve and in the BinHai Wetland Reserve. In each reserve, the main factor influencing the pollution and health risk were high concentrations of As and Pb that exceed the corresponding standards. Measures must be adopted to control and remediate the pollutants. Furthermore, to protect the marine reserves, management policies must be implemented to improve water quality, which is an urgent task for both local and national governments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective evaluations of the scenic or visual attributes of a landscape contribute to their thorough characterization and assessment. This means that the techniques used for calculating the visibility of the landscape and for studying spatial patterns (e.g. landscape metrics) must be complemented by considering the real view perceived by the observer. This could be done by measuring the visual parameters of the landscape using photographs, but there are currently no standard procedures as to how to do this. We therefore propose a method that establishes a common system of reference for the ground plan and panoramic photographs of a particular area, and for taking measurements on these images relating to visual angles, visual magnitudes and apparent densities. This process is quick and inexpensive and involves obtaining calibrated equirectangular projections of photographs (individual or combined in the form of panoramas), to which we assign a spherical coordinate system in a GIS. This allows us to define a panorama accurately and unambiguously with a sole reference namely the coordinates of the viewpoint from which the panorama was generated. This method also ensures that the same results are obtained even when different camera equipment is used to take the photograph(s). This method can be applied in different ways to characterize landscape aesthetics (impact assessments, evaluation of landscape preferences, estimation of the sky view factor, evolution of the landscape over time, management of urban panoramic views etc.) and is useful for the calibration of automated systems for the calculation of viewsheds and visual magnitudes. The paper discusses the basic principles and the problem solutions during the design and implementation of the mobile GIS system, and base on the research result, we developed the General Provincial Situation Visualization System Based on iOS of Shandong Province. The system is developed in the Objective-C programming language, and use the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for IOS as the development tool to call the 'World-map Shandong' services to implement the development of the General Provincial Situation Visualization System Based on iOS devices.
