Celem prezentowanych badań było określenie związku między umiejscowieniem kontroli zdrowia a wsparciem społecznym i satysfakcją z życia u osób w okresie późnej dorosłości. Zamierzano sprawdzić jaki wymiar kontroli zdrowia dominuje w grupie osób starszych, a także czy pozostaje on w związku z liczbą odbywanych wizyt lekarskich, wykształceniem, zamieszkiwaniem w pojedynkę lub z bliskimi, subiektywną oceną stanu zdrowia, a także spostrzeganym wsparciem społecznym oraz zadowoleniem z życia. Sprawdzono ponadto, czy istnieją różnice w zakresie umiejscowienia kontroli zdrowia pomiędzy osobami ze średnim i wyższym wykształceniem Badaniami objęto 85 osób w wieku od 60 do 79 r.ż. Osoby badane to słuchacze Uniwersytetu Trzeciego Wieku oraz uczestnicy zajęć w Centrum Aktywizacji Seniorów PLinEU. Wyniki wskazują, że w badanej grupie dominuje wewnętrzna kontrola zdrowia, która pozostaje w związku z wykształceniem, liczbą odbywanych wizyt lekarskich oraz mieszkaniem w pojedynkę. Stwierdzono ponadto dodatni związek pomiędzy wewnętrznym umiejscowieniem kontroli zdrowia a subiektywną oceną stanu zdrowia. Nie stwierdzono związku między umiejscowieniem kontroli zdrowia a wsparciem społecznym oraz satysfakcją z życia. This study aims at investigating the relationship between the health locus of control and social support and life satisfaction in late adulthood. It was intended to investigate which dimension of health control dominates in the respondents and whether it is related to the frequency of medical visits, education, living alone or with relatives, subjective assessment of health as well as perceived social support and life satisfaction. It was also examined whether there are differences in the health locus of control between people with secondary and higher education. The study was conducted among 85 people aged 60 to 79: students of a Third Age University and participants of the PLinEU Senior Activity Centre. The research results indicate that it is the internal health locus of control that dominates in the respondents, which is related to the number of medical visits and living alone. There was a significant positive relationship between the internal health locus of control and subjective assessment of health. Differences between people with secondary and higher education in the health locus of control were demonstrated. There was no relationship between the health locus of control and social support and life satisfaction.
