The text theoretically elaborates on the importance of education in modern society, which represents the main precondition for development. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of education and its characteristics at the time of the pandemic COVID 19. With that in mind, we conducted this research including students of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Social Work at the University of Sarajevo. The goal of the research was to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of online access to education from the perspective of social work students. In the interpretation of the restrictions related to the access to online classes, we particularly referred to groups of young people (students living in rural areas, students with disabilities) who encountered additional difficulties, i.e. restrictions while following "online" classes, especially during the period of complete closure of educational institutions. This paper discusses the importance of Centres for Social Work (CSWs) for the quality of life of the elderly, considering that in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) they stand out from the set of institutions that provide social protection services to the elderly and other marginalised groups. These institutions are established: pursuant to the Law on the Basics of Social Protection, Protection of Civilian War Victims and Families with Children of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and operate in line with cantonal regulations (Article 49); pursuant to the Law on Social Protection of the Republic of Srpska (RS) in line with municipal regulations (Article 100); and pursuant to the Law on Social Protection of Brcko District, upon decision of the Assembly (Article 19). Since social protection in BiH is regulated by numerous regulations at multiple levels, for the purposes of this paper the interviews covered social workers in CSWs in Canton Sarajevo. Interviews consisting of 13 closed and open questions were conducted with all eight (8) social workers engaged in provision of social protection services to the elderly in Canton Sarajevo. The paper therefore presents empirical findings related to the structure and scope of services provided by CSWs to the elderly during the most recent crisis (inflation). The research objective was to determine whether the number of older persons seeking to exercise their legally guaranteed right to social protection in CSWs in Canton Sarajevo has increased during global inflation due to reduced quality of life. The paper analyzed the possibilities and abilities of people with disabilities in the field of entrepreneurship in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It tried to point out the possible risk that entrepreneurship carries with it, but also the benefits that arise from it, namely the profit that is necessary for improving the quality of life of any person. The above is especially important for groups that are more difficult to employ, including persons with disabilities, who, through the procedure of entering the world of entrepreneurship, can achieve an adequate job for themselves, as well as for a certain number of other members of the community. Key personality traits for entrepreneurship were analyzed separately. Through the conducted research, we especially tried to find out how empowered people with disabilities are to enter the world of entrepreneurship, and how satisfied they are and whether they are familiar with the benefits that the system offers to all people who decide to start their own entrepreneurial idea. The main characteristic of the 21st century is the increase in the number of third-age persons in the total human population of the world. Therefore, it is an imperative to create new modes and to improve existing modes of assistance and support to this group of people. This paper specifically seeks to draw attention to possible directions for the development of care services for the elderly. The tasks of the professionals (social workers and occupational therapists), working in institutions for the permanent placement/accommodation and care of the elderly, were also analyzed.
