Abstract

Das politische Wirken von Friedrich Daniel Bassermann, einem der führenden liberalen Politiker im Vormärz und während der Revolution 1848/49, Abgeordneten der Zweiten Badischen Kammer, Mitglied des Vorparlaments und der Paulskirche und schließlich Reichsminister, ist in der biographischen Literatur ausführlich gewürdigt worden. Aus der darin weniger dokumentierten frühen Lebensphase haben sich in Privatbesitz einige Schriftstücke erhalten, die die Abgeltung der Militärpflicht des 21jährigen Friedrich Daniel Bassermann betreffen und die jüngst dem Mannheimer Altertumsverein für seine archivalischen Sammlungen überlassen wurden. Die vier Dokumente aus dem Jahr 1832 sind geeignet, seine Biographie um einen bisher nicht bekannten Aspekt zu ergänzen.
