The authors aimed to elaborate on an interesting clinical case of a subject that came to our attention following a low-energy traumatic event, producing a bilateral femur fracture. During the instrumental investigations, findings pointing to multiple myeloma were described, in fact later confirmed by the histological and biochemical investigations. In this specific case, unlike manifestations in most patients with MM, the classic correlated pathognomonic symptoms, such as lower back pain, weight loss, recurrent infections, asthenia, were not present. Furthermore, the inflammatory indices, the values of serum calcium, renal function and hemoglobin were completely normal, although numerous bone localizations of disease already coexisted, and these were all unknown to the patient. ResumenLos componentes de las bayas (peso, azúcares, ácidos, polifenoles) están influenciados por el microclima de la canopia y por el estado de madurez de éstas, entre otros factores. El objetivo de este trabajo fue conocer la influencia de la temperatura a nivel de los racimos en la composición de las bayas (peso, volumen, sólidossolubles, acidez, pH, antocianas e Índice de Polifenoles Totales -IPT-), en dos exposiciones (este y oeste) y en tres estados de madurez. Los resultados indican que los racimos expuestos al oeste tuvieron mayores integrales térmicas y permanecieron sometidos más tiempo a temperaturas mayores al umbral fisiológico superior, que los racimos expuestos al este. El peso y el volumen de las bayas orientadas al oeste fueron menores que las expuestas al este sólo en madurez avanzada. No hubo diferencias en los sólidos solubles,acidez total, pH, antocianas e Índice de Polifenoles Totales entre las bayas de las exposiciones este y oeste en ningún estado de madurez.AbstractThe berrie´s components (weigth, sugars, acids, polyphenols) are influenced by the canopy microclimate andthe stage of grape maturity, among other factors. The objective of this research was to examine the influence of temperature at cluster level against the grape composition (weigth, volume, soluble solids, total acidity, pH, anthocyanins and Total Polyphenols Index between the east and the west exposure in a vineyard north-southoriented at three maturity moments. Results shown that the clusters exposed to the west presented higher temperature accumulation and were exposed longer to maximal temperatures than the east exposure ones.The weigth and volume of west exposed berries were lower than the east exposed ones in lastest harvest date.No differences were found in grapes soluble solids, total acidity, pH, anthocyanins and TPI among exposures at any harvest date.

High resolution depolarized light scattering spectra, extended from 0.5 to 2×104 GHz by the combined used of a dispersive and an interferometric setup, give evidence of separated solute and solvent dynamics in diluted trehalose aqueous solutions. The slow relaxation process, located in the gigahertz frequency region, is analyzed as a function of temperature and concentration and assigned to the rotational diffusion of the sugar molecule. The results are discussed in comparison with the data obtained on glucose solutions and they are used to clarify the molecular origin of some among the several relaxation processes reported in literature for oligosaccharides solutions. The concentration dependence of relaxation time and of shear viscosity are also discussed, suggesting that the main effect of carbohydrate molecules on the structural relaxation of diluted aqueous solutions is the perturbation induced on the dynamics of the first hydration shell of each solute molecule. We report the results of a series of ultrasound, Brillouin scattering, and optical heterodyne detected transient grating experiments performed on a LiCl, 6H2O solution from room temperature down to the vicinity of its liquid-glass transition, Tg∼138 K. Down to T∼215 K, the supercooled liquid has a behavior similar to what is expected for supercooled water: its zero frequency sound velocity, C0, continuously decreases while the corresponding infinite frequency velocity, C∞, sharply increases, reflecting the increasing importance of H bonding when temperature is lowered. Below 215 K, specific aspects of the solution, presumably related to the role of the Li+ and Cl- ions, modify the thermal behavior of C0, while a β relaxation process also appears and couples to the sound propagation.
