The aim of the paper is to discuss the essence of strategic entrepreneurship and some relationships between entrepreneurship and strategic management. Strategic entrepreneurship is a relatively new concept of management, derived from entrepreneurship and strategic management. The existing scientific achievements of strategic entrepreneurship has largely theoretical in nature, and the practice is not yet well understood. The article attempts to understand the essence of strategic entrepreneurship and review the proposed definitions by different researchers. The article was based on an analysis of subject literature and research on strategic entrepreneurship.

The aim of the article is to present the location factors of small and mediumsized enterprises in clusters influencing the processes of entrepreneurship development in the region. In the EU a region is considered the largest unit of the administrative division of the country with an elected government, the legal personality and its own budget. The competitiveness of the region is affected by economic factors of the creation and development of enterprises. Economic factors relate primarily to the level of production and transport costs, the noticeable evolution is a hierarchy of importance and types considered determinants. Regional determinants of the creation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises are the weave of various economic factors, as indicated by the analysis of clusters as geographic concentrations of companies operating in one or a limited number of related sectors. To a large extent, it is based on the research of factors of competitiveness clusters based on modern research processes, development of entrepreneurship in the region.

The aim of this article is to present potential pathways of innovation in tourist clusters in the context of globalization processes. Globalization enhances competitive pressure on industry firms in clusters and initiates innovation processes that are geared towards internal or external relationships. Processes directed at interconnected networks do not protect against the threat of isolation, which implies negative external effects of the network. Processes based on the construction of external links (foreign), related to the displacement of selected elements of the value chain (so-called selective relocation), allow to avoid isolation and to benefit from the network. The article was based on an analysis of subject literature and empirical research on innovation and clustering concepts in the tourism industry.

Działalność sportowa to proces przedsiębiorczy, w którym innowacyjność i zmiana są kluczowymi elementami w wykorzystywaniu okazji i uzyskaniu przewagi konkurencyjnej. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji przedsiębiorczości strategicznej jako determinanty rozwoju organizacji sportowych. Dynamicznie rozwijający się rynek sportowy może być jednym z tych obszarów gospodarki, które dają możliwość zbadania, jak przedsiębiorczość strategiczna kształtuje i rozwija organizacje poprzez innowacyjność, proaktywność oraz przewagę konkurencyjną. In the context of strategic entrepreneurship the issue of corporate strategy carries special importance in the organization of the sports industry. Sports activities is the entrepreneurial process in which innovation and change are key elements in exploiting opportunity gain a competitive advantage. The aim of this article is to present the concept of strategic entrepreneurship, as a determinant of the development of sports organizations. Fast growing and developing sports market may be one of those areas of the economy, which provides the opportunity to explore how strategic entrepreneurship affects the development of organizations through innovativeness, proactiveness and competitive advantage.

W kontekście przedsiębiorczości strategicznej i koncepcji sieci problem strategii przedsiębiorstw nabiera szczególnej wagi w przypadku klastrów, rozumianych jako geograficzne koncentracje przedsiębiorstw, które działają w powiązaniach wzajemnych i w związkach z organizacjami otoczenia, w ramach jednego sektora lub ograniczonej liczby powiązanych sektorów (branż). Środowiska te cechuje wyspecjalizowany zasób kompetencji, intensywność relacji sieciowych oraz liczebne zdominowanie przez populację małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MŚP). Tekst artykułu oparty jest na studiach literaturowych z zakresu koncepcji klastrów i analizie własnych oraz cudzych badań empirycznych. In the context of strategic entrepreneurship and the concept of strategic enterprise strategy issue becomes particularly important in clusters, understood as a geographical concentration of companies that operate in the mutual relations and relationships with environmental organizations, in one or a limited number of related sectors (industries). These environments are characterized by resource specialized competence, the intensity of the relationship network and numerical population dominated by SMEs. This article attempts to present how the cluster environment conducive to the development of strategic entrepreneurship. The text is based on literature studies in the field of the cluster concept and analysis of their own and others’ empirical research.

Increased regulation after Poland joined the EU in 2004, plus growing competition, put pressure on Zet Transport, a transport and freight forwarding business. Its turnover was growing but profit was falling. Two periods of restructuring in 2006-2008 and 2010-2012 saw wide-ranging change, including changing the legal form of the company, extending operations, partial relocation and setting up a subsidiary to service its fleet. The company gained in business and economic terms, although these benefits took some time to become clear.

The aim of this paper is to present the impact of EU funds for support the development of tourism sector in the Malopolska region. The paper is based on literature studies in the field of tourism, EU funds and tourism enterprises as well as the analysis of the empirical research of others.

This Polish furniture producer has managed to succeed in the market by adapting flexibly to changing customer markets and tastes. By introducing new production methods and insourcing more and by strengthening domestic sales, variations in international sales were more easily absorbed. However, 30 employees lost their jobs.

The paper presents the processes occurring in clusters in the light of the clusters evolution model. The model can be used to determine the phase of the tourism cluster development in the regional environment, the impact of this phase on development of the region and local enterprises, and to identify the processes of evolution. The aim of the article is to present the concept of economic activation of regions based on the development of cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in enterprise clusters. The following issues are discussed: reasons for the current interest in clusters, approaches to the cluster phenomenon by different researchers and proposed definitions of the cluster, examples of regional clusters and sources of their competitiveness. Moreover, the contribution of cooperation between SMEs into the competitiveness of the regional economy is outlined. The article is based on the review of the literature in industrial clusters and on the results of empirical studies.

W artykule przedstawiono procesy wzrostu i opcje internacjonalizacji przedsiębiorstw w klastrach oraz określono konsekwencje tych zjawisk zarówno dla firm, jak i branżowych aglomeracji, z których one pochodzą. Procesy wzrostu i umiędzynarodowienia przedsiębiorstw zapewniają dostęp do materialnych i niematerialnych zasobów poza regionem i pozwalają uniknąć izolacji. Z drugiej jednak strony niosą zagrożenie dekompozycją sieci dotychczasowych powiązań, w których zgromadzona była wiedza ukryta. Sformułowano tezę, że skuteczne opcje internacjonalizacji winny realizować dwa cele: 1) tworzenia międzynarodowych sieci powiązań, aby uniknąć izolacji w dostępie do zewnętrznych zasobów; 2) ochrony przed imitacją i rozwoju wiedzy zawartej w sieciowych powiązaniach źródłowego klastra. Opcją, która łączy oba cele, jest selektywna relokacja w obrębie zarówno strategii kosztowej, jak i strategii dyferencjacji. In the article the growth and internationalization options of cluster enterprises were discussed and their consequences for individual companies and their industrial agglomerations were identified. The processes of growth and internationalization ensure access to tangible and intangible resources out of the source region and prevent the lock-in. On the other hand, they bring the threat of decomposing networks where the tacit knowledge was stored. The proposition was formulated that effective options of internationalization should address two objectives: 1) to establish international networking relationships so that lock-in is avoided in the access to external resources, 2) to prevent imitation and to develop the knowledge embedded in the network relationships of the source cluster. It is argued that selective relocation, both in the cost and in the differentiation strategies, is the option that meets those objectives.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji oparcia aktywizacji gospodarczej regionów turystycznych na wspólnych podstawach w postaci rozwoju klastrów przedsiębiorstw oraz małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw. W poszczególnych częściach artykułu przedstawiono przyczyny zainteresowania klastrami, rozumienie tego zjawiska w ujęciu różnych badaczy oraz propozycje definicji klastra, a następnie przykłady funkcjonowania klastrów w różnych regionach i źródła ich konkurencyjności. W opracowaniu przedstawiono również udział sektora małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (MSP) w gospodarce regionu. Zaprezentowano znaczenie klastra w polityce aktywizacji gospodarczej regionu i w regionalnej polityce wspierania MSP. Artykuł opiera się na studiach literaturowych z zakresu koncepcji klastrów i analizie badań empirycznych. The aim of the article is to present the concept of economic activation of tourism regions based on the development of enterprise clusters and on the development of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The following topics are discussed: reasons for the current interest in clusters, approaches to the cluster phenomenon by different researchers and proposed definitions of the cluster, examples of regional clusters and sources of their competitiveness. Moreover, the contribution of SMEs into the regional economy is outlined. Finally, the function of clusters in the policy for economic activation of the region and for the regional SME policy was proposed. The article is based on the review of the literature in industrial clusters and on the results of empirical studies.

W pracy omówiono zagadnienie zarządzania jakością w przedsiębiorstwie na podstawie wybranych technik zarządzania jakością, w szczególności na podstawie norm ISO serii 9000, w oparciu o przegląd dostępnej literatury przedmiotu. Celem pracy było przedstawienie wpływu wdrożenia systemu zarządzania jakości wg normy PN-EN ISO 9001:2001 na działalność i rozwój firmy Diagnostyka samochodowa AUTO-TEST s.c. Batkowski S., Tischner S., z siedzibą w Starym Sączu. Analizy firmy dokonano na podstawie: modelu rozwoju firmy N.C. Churchilla i V. L. Lewis, diagnozy potencjału rozwojowego POS oraz porównania istniejącego systemu jakości z wymaganiami norm technicznych. Analiza istniejącego w firmie systemu jakości przeprowadzona została na podstawie ankiety przygotowawczej do audytu zerowego. Odpowiedzi na pytania zawarte w ankiecie zostały udzielone na podstawie: wywiadu z właścicielem firmy oraz przeglądu udostępnionej dokumentacji wewnętrznej. Analiza działalności stacji diagnostycznej pod kątem wdrożenia systemu zarządzania jakością wykazała, iż nie ma przesłanek do wdrożenia tegoż systemu. Działalność stacji kontroli pojazdów w Polsce obwarowana jest ogromną ilością przepisów – niemal 60 aktów prawnych, które regulują poziom jakości obsługi klientów stacji diagnostycznych. The thesis discusses the issues of quality management in the enterprise on the basis of some quality management techniques, in particular on the basis of ISO 9000 series, based on a review of available literature. The aim of the thesis was the analysis of the diagnostic station AUTO-TEST for the implementation of quality management system according to PN-EN ISO 9001:2001. The analysis was made on the basis of: the company’s development model of N.C. Churchill and V.L. Lewis, POS development potential diagnoses and comparison of the existing quality system and requirements of technical standards. Analysis of the current quality management system has been carried out on the basis of a preparatory survey to the zero audit. Answers to questions in the survey were granted based on: an interview with the owner of the company and a review of available internal documents. Analysis of the diagnostic station activities for the implementation of quality management system has shown that there is no reason to implement quality management system. In Poland there is a huge number of legal acts – almost 60, that regulate the level of quality customer service in diagnostic station.
