This study was aimed to validate the factorial invariance of CERQ across gender and reexamine its psychometric properties. A total of 4572 Chinese college students (50.09% female; age: M = 18.62, SD = 0.97) completed the CERQ and other psychological scales. The factorial invariance of CERQ across gender was conducted by multi-group confirmatory factor analysis. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients, Omega coefficients and mean inter-item correlation coefficients (M.sub.IC) were used to examine the internal consistency reliability, and multiple regression analysis was performed to examine the criterion validity of CERQ. The results showed that nine-factor model of CERQ fit the data reasonably in the total sample and in each gender group, the configural, metric, scalar and strict equivalence of CERQ across gender were all acceptable, and there were significant gender differences in most factors' latent means except Refocusing on planning, which was generally in line with the observed gender differences. Moreover, the internal consistency reliability and criterion validity of CERQ were both well evidenced. Overall, the nine-factor structure of CERQ was invariant across gender and there were gender differences in cognitive emotion regulation.

Natural aroma compounds are a kind of important food additive. Taking bis(2-ethylhexyl) sodium sulfosuccinate (AOT) as the surfactant, water-in-n-heptane emulsions were prepared. Then, the emulsions were adopted as the diluter to prepare polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) pervaporation membranes using the emulsion templating method (ePDMS), of which the separation layer was controlled by the template action of emulsion drops. The ePDMS membranes were utilized to separate aroma compounds. Field-emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) analysis revealed that the surface of the ePDMS membrane remained smooth, and white light interferometry confirmed the membrane's surface smoothness. FESEM cross-sectional analysis exposed the voids left by the evaporation of the emulsion, rendering the separation layer of the ePDMS membrane more porous. Water contact angle measurements demonstrated the hydrophobicity of the ePDMS membrane, which is advantageous for the pervaporation of aromatic compounds. Fourier transform infrared spectrometry analysis confirmed the evaporation and separation of the emulsion, retaining the original chemical properties of the PDMS membrane. In an ethanol–water system, the permeation flux of ethanol in ePDMS membranes prepared with 1 emulsion (Vwater:Vn-heptane = 1:9; mass concentration of AOT of 1.0 mg/ml) is 90.6% higher than that in PDMS membranes, while the separation factor does not change obviously. The separation performance of ePDMS membranes for linalool in water was further studied. Results show that the permeation flux and separation factor of linalool in ePDMS composite membranes at 50 °C are 786 g m−2 h−1 and 17.69, which separately increase by 84.7% and 27.1% compared with those in PDMS membranes. ABSTRACT Nitrate not only serves as the primary nitrogen source for terrestrial plants but also serves as a critical signal in regulating plant growth and development. Understanding how plant responses to nitrate availability is essential for improving nitrogen use efficiency in crops. Herein, we demonstrated that the basic helix‐loop‐helix (bHLH) transcription factor TabHLH489 plays a crucial negative regulatory role in wheat nitrate signaling. Overexpressing TabHLH489 significantly reduced nitrate‐promoted wheat growth and grain yield. Transcriptomic analysis showed that approximately 75% of nitrate‐responsive genes were no longerregulated by nitrate in the TabHLH489 overexpression lines. TabHLH489 directly interacts with TaNLP7‐3A, the wheat homolog protein of NIN‐like protein 7 (NLP7), a central transcription factor in nitrate signaling. This interaction impairs TaNLP7‐3A's ability to bind DNA, thereby inhibiting its transcriptional activity. Moreover, TabHLH489 induces the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) to reduce the nuclear localization of TaNLP7‐3A, thereby diminishing its effectiveness in regulating the plant nitrogen response. These findings highlight the intricate regulatory mechanism by which TabHLH489 modulates TaNLP7‐3A activity through direct interaction and ROS‐mediated inhibition of nuclear localization. Our research highlights the critical roles of TabHLH489 and TaNLP7‐3A in modulating nitrate signaling, providing new gene targets for developing wheat varieties with enhanced nitrogen use efficiency.
