Unfortunately, there are no indicators at high risk for predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes. This study investigates the predictive efficiency of serum immune-inflammatory markers on adverse pregnancy outcomes.Methods: This retrospective cohort study includes 223 pregnant women diagnosed with thrombophilia who delivered at the Fujian Provincial Hospital South Branch from January 2022 to April 2024. Clinical information and pregnancy outcomes were collected. The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were calculated using blood samples. The relationship and predictive accuracy between immune-inflammatory markers and adverse pregnancy outcomes were analyzed.Results: In this study, 50 (22.4%) patients had adverse pregnancy outcomes. Significant differences were observed in neutrophils counts, monocytes counts, LDH, SII, and SIRI levels between the adverse pregnancy outcome groups (APOs) and the control groups (P< 0.05). The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis revealed that SII (AUC=0.762), SIRI (AUC=0.764), and LDH (AUC=0.732) had high predictive values for adverse pregnancy outcomes. Notably, the combined model had the highest AUC of 0.805. Multivariate logistic regression identified SII had the highest odd ratio (OR) (OR=8.512; 95% CI(3.068– 23.614)), followed by LDH (OR=4.905; 95% CI (1.167– 11.101)), SIRI (OR=3.549; 95% CI(0.847– 8.669)), and neutrophils count (OR=1.726; 95% CI (0.563– 2.938)) as independent risk factors for adverse outcomes.Conclusion: Elevated levels of immune-inflammatory markers such as SII, SIRI, and LDH level are strong predictors of adverse pregnancy outcomes in thrombophilia-complicated pregnancies. These markers are significantly associated with maternal-neonatal outcomes. Our findings underscore the importance of monitoring immune-inflammatory markers in pregnant women with thrombophilia to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.Keywords: Thrombophilia, Maternal-neonatal Outcomes, Immune, Inflammatory

PRB has been proven to be an independent risk factor for poor prognosis. Previous studies have shown that spot sign and blend sign are independent risk factors for PRB of spontaneous ICH. However, the risk factors for PRB of spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage (SCH) have not been elucidated. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possible risk factors for PRB and short-term prognosis of patients with SCH.Patients and Methods: This study identified 62 patients with SCH who underwent hematoma evacuation in our department. Risk factors for PRB and short-term prognosis were identified by a univariable logistic regression model, and predictors with a P value of less than 0.05 were included in the multivariable logistic regression model to identify independent predictors. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was created to test the sensitivity and specificity of independent risk factors.Results: Hematoma volume was the only independent predictor of PRB (OR=15.14, 95% CI=1.08– 213.1, P=0.044). The sensitivity and specificity of hematoma volume to PRB were 63.6% and 89.7%, respectively, and the cutoff value of hematoma volume was > 29.3 mL. GCS score ≤ 8 (OR=5.131, 95% CI=1.030– 25.554, P=0.046) and PRB (OR=13.17, 95% CI=1.316– 131.798, P=0.028) were independent risk factors for poor prognosis of patients with SCH. The sensitivity and specificity of the GCS score to poor prognosis were 66.7% and 86.2%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of the PRB to poor prognosis were 36.4% and 96.6%, respectively.Conclusion: Hematoma volume is likely to be a strong predictor of PRB among patients with SCH. However, single phototherapy often causes tumor recurrence which hinders its clinical applications. Therefore, developing a NIR-guided dendritic nanoplatform for improving the phototherapy effect and reducing the recurrence of tumors by synergistic chemotherapy and phototherapy is essential.Methods: A fluorescent targeting ligand, insisting of ICG derivative cypate and a tumor penetration peptide iRGD (CRGDKGPDC), was covalently combined with PAMAM dendrimer to prepare a single agent-based dendritic theranostic nanoplatform iRGD-cypate-PAMAM-DTX (RCPD).Results: Compared with free cypate, the resulted RCPD could generate enhanced singlet oxygen species while maintaining its fluorescence intensity and heat generation ability when subjected to NIR irradiation. Furthermore, our in vitro and in vivo therapeutic studies demonstrated that compared with phototherapy or chemotherapy alone, the combinatorial chemo-photo treatment of RCPD with the local exposure of NIR light can significantly improve anti-tumor efficiency and reduce the risk of recurrence of tumors.Conclusion: The multifunctional theranostic platform (RCPD) could be used as a promising method for NIR fluorescence image-guided combinatorial treatment of tumor cancers.Keywords: phototherapy, chemotherapy, combined therapy, dendrimer, ICG derivatives

The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C-NMR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. All the derivatives were subjected to in vitro cytotoxicity screening against HEPG-2 (human liver carcinoma), SGC-7901 (human gastric carcinoma), and LS174T (human colon carcinoma), by using the MTT assay. The results revealed that several of the 4-methoxy-substituted compounds exhibited potent cytotoxicity. Among these, compound 12e showed the highest activity against cancer cells which 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) values were in the range of 6.1–9.2 µM with low toxicity on normal human hepatocyte. Preliminary investigation of possible mechanisms of action of compound 12e against HEPG-2 cells indicated possible induction of apoptosis, as determined by morphological observations and Annexin V/propidium iodide (PI) double staining, in addition to apparent dissipation of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), as measured by 5,5',6,6'-tetrachloro-1,1',3,3'-tetraethyl-imidacarbocyanine iodide (JC-1) staining in combination with the activation of caspase-9 and caspase-3 by Western blot analysis. Overall, the data suggest that compound 12e may be a promising potential anticancer agent that could act primarily by inducing apoptosis through the mitochondria-mediated intrinsic pathway in human hepatoma cells. This study developed epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody-directed polydopamine-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@PDA NPs) for magnetic resonance imaging and antitumor chemo-photothermal therapy. The synthesized Fe3O4@PDA-PEG-EGFR-DOX NPs revealed high storage capacity for doxorubicin (DOX) and high photothermal conversion efficiency. The cell viability assay of Fe3O4@PDA-PEG-EGFR NPs indicated that Fe3O4@PDA-PEG-EGFR NPs had no cell cytotoxicity. However, Fe3O4@PDA-PEG-EGFR-DOX NPs could significantly decrease cell viability (~5% of remaining cell viability) because of both photothermal ablation and near-infrared light-triggered DOX release. Meanwhile, the EGFR-targeted Fe3O4@PDA-PEG-EGFR-DOX NPs significantly inhibited the growth of tumors, showing a prominent in vivo synergistic antitumor effect. This study demonstrated the potential of using Fe3O4@PDA NPs for combined cancer chemo-photothermal therapy with increased efficacy. This work considers a computationally and statistically efficient parameter estimation method for a wide class of latent variable models-including Gaussian mixture models, hidden Markov models, and latent Dirichlet allocation-which exploits a certain tensor structure in their low-order observable moments (typically, of second- and third-order). Specifically, parameter estimation is reduced to the problem of extracting a certain (orthogonal) decomposition of a symmetric tensor derived from the moments; this decomposition can be viewed as a natural generalization of the singular value decomposition for matrices. Although tensor decompositions are generally intractable to compute, the decomposition of these specially structured tensors can be efficiently obtained by a variety of approaches, including power iterations and maximization approaches (similar to the case of matrices). A detailed analysis of a robust tensor power method is provided, establishing an analogue of Wedin's perturbation theorem for the singular vectors of matrices. This implies a robust and computationally tractable estimation approach for several popular latent variable models.

The present work focused on investigating the role of the altered expression of complement C1s in proliferation and apoptosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells and explore its biological functions in ESCC, so as to lay a theoretical foundation and provide certain clinical reference for diagnosing and treating ESCC. Complement C1s expression within ESCC was assessed, and its clinical pathological characteristics in ESCC patients were analyzed. Subsequently, in vitro experiments were performed to further explore the mechanisms by which complement C1s affected ESCC. According to the results, complement C1s expression within ESCC markedly increased relative to adjacent non-cancerous samples. High C1s expression showed positive relation to race, residual lesion, and tumor location of ESCC patients. Complement C1s affected ESCC cell proliferation and apoptosis. Notably, C1s knockdown significantly inhibited ESCC cell proliferation and enhanced their apoptosis. C1s suppressed ESCC cell proliferation via Wnt1/β-catenin pathway and promoted their apoptosis through modulating the expression of Bcl2, Bax, and cleaved-caspase3.

The bubble nuclei are important components of exotic nuclear structures characterized by special depletions of central densities. Focusing on bubble structures of 36Ar, the characterizations of bubble nuclei were explored with the framework of the extended quantum molecular dynamics model. Three density distribution modes were uncovered for the first time, i.e. micro-bubble, bubble, and cluster resonances, which show unique spectral signature compared to the monopole resonance spectrum as the excitation intensity was increased in bubbles. Of pivotal importance is the revelation that the bubble mode's oscillation frequency closely resembles macroscopic bubble dynamics, building a connection between classical macroscopic phenomena and the quantum complexity of the nuclear structure. The discovery marks a crucial step forward in deciphering the relationship between classical and quantum domains within the enigmatic world of atomic nuclei.

Pattern-illuminated Fourier ptychography (piFP) is an elegant combination of structured illumination imaging and a Fourier ptychographic algorithm with the ability to image beyond the diffraction limit of the employed optics. Artifact-free piFP super-resolution reconstruction requires a high level of stability in the illumination pattern. However, unpredictable pattern variation occurs in the presence of environment perturbation, intensity fluctuation, and pointing instability at the source, leading to declines in image reconstruction quality. To address this issue, we present an efficient and robust piFP algorithm based on low-rank approximation (LRA-piFP), which relaxes the requirement for the stability of illumination patterns. This LRA-piFP method can model frame-wise pattern variation during a full scan, thus improve the reconstruction quality significantly. We take numerical simulations and proof-of-principle experiments with both long-range imaging and microscopy for demonstrations. Results show that the LRA-piFP method can handle different kinds of pattern variation and outperforms other state-of-the-art techniques in terms of reconstruction quality and resolution improvement. Our method provides effective experimental robustness to piFP with a natural algorithmic extension, paving the way for its application in both macroscopic and microscopic imaging.

In the United States, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases have consistently been linked to the prevailing variant XBB.1.5 of SARS-CoV-2 since late 2022. A system has been developed for producing and infecting cells with a pseudovirus (PsV) of SARS-CoV-2 to investigate the infection in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory. This system utilizes a lentiviral vector carrying ZsGreen1 and Firefly luciferase (Fluc) dual reporter genes, facilitating the analysis of experimental results. In addition, we have created a panel of PsV variants that depict both previous and presently circulating mutations found in circulating SARS-CoV-2 strains. A series of PsVs includes the prototype SARS-CoV-2, Delta B.1.617.2, BA.5, XBB.1, and XBB.1.5. To facilitate the study of infections caused by different variants of SARS-CoV-2 PsV, we have developed a HEK-293T cell line expressing mCherry and human angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2). To validate whether different SARS-CoV-2 PsV variants can be used for neutralization assays, we employed serum from rats immunized with the PF-D-Trimer protein vaccine to investigate its inhibitory effect on the infectivity of various SARS-CoV-2 PsV variants. According to our observations, the XBB variant, particularly XBB.1.5, exhibits stronger immune evasion capabilities than the prototype SARS-CoV-2, Delta B.1.617.2, and BA.5 PsV variants. Hence, utilizing the neutralization test, this study has the capability to forecast the effectiveness in preventing future SARS-CoV-2 variants infections.

This paper summarized the nursing management of a patient with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with sleep apnea syndrome. Based on Orem's self-care nursing theory, targeted interventions according to the different stage of disease were carried out to improve the self-care ability of the patient, as well as preventing complications and improving the quality of life. Abstract Background Owing to the advances in diagnosis and therapy, survival or remission rates for lymphoma have improved prominently. Apart from the lymphoma- and chemotherapy-related somatic symptom burden, increasing attention has been drawn to the health-related quality of life. The application of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) has been routinely recommended for the staging and response assessment of FDG-avid lymphoma. However, up till now, only a few researches have investigated the brain metabolic impairments in patients with pre-treatment lymphoma. The determination of the lymphoma-related metabolic brain pattern would facilitate exploring the tailored therapeutic regimen to alleviate not only the physiological, but also the psychological symptoms. In this retrospective study, we aimed to establish the diffuse large B-cell lymphoma-related pattern (DLBCLRP) of metabolic brain network and investigate the correlations between DLBCLRP and several indexes of the staging and response assessment. Results The established DLBCLRP was characterized by the increased metabolic activity in bilateral cerebellum, brainstem, thalamus, striatum, hippocampus, amygdala, parahippocampal gyrus and right middle temporal gyrus and by the decreased metabolic activity in bilateral occipital lobe, parietal lobe, anterior cingulate gyrus, midcingulate cortex and medial frontal gyrus. Significant difference in the baseline expression of DLBCLRP was found among complete metabolic response (CMR), partial metabolic response (PMR) and progressive metabolic disease (PMD) groups (P 0.05), the post-treatment declines of DLBCLRP expression were significantly positively correlated with Ann Arbor staging (r s = 0.284, P

A microfluidic device designed for electrochemical studies on a microliter scale has been utilized for the examination of impurity levels in ionic liquids (ILs). Halide impurities are common following IL synthesis, and this study demonstrates the ability to quantify low concentrations of halide in a range of ILs to levels of ~5 ppm, even in ILs not currently measurable using other methods such as ion chromatography. To validate the mixer device, the electrochemistry of ferrocene was also examined and compared with spectroscopic and bulk electrochemistry measurements. An automated 'sample preparation, delivery, and calibration' method was developed, and the chip successfully used for linear sweep, cyclic voltammetry (under both quiescent and steady-state flowing conditions), square wave voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry. An effective method of electrochemically cleaning the electrodes is also presented.

The high-level biosafety laboratory is not only the basic support for infectious disease prevention and control, but also interrelated with key areas such as environmental security and social security, which has attracted increasing attention. A good indoor environment is the premise to ensure the smooth progress of the experiment and biological risk prevention and control. In order to better understand the indoor environment of high-level biosafety laboratories, 19 high-level biosafety laboratories in China (with a total of 65 main rooms) were carefully selected as the test objects from December 2020 to December 2022. According to the test methods specified in the Chinese standard GB 50346, the air change, cleanliness, static pressure difference, temperature, relative humidity, and illumination were tested and analyzed. The results showed that all the measured parameters met the requirements of the Chinese standard GB 50346, and the bio-safety performance was completely satisfactory. However, individual parameters showed some overlarge values: the proportion of main rooms with cleanliness levels of 7 and 8 exceeding 50% of the lower limit for air changes was 54.5% and 69.8%, respectively; the proportion of main rooms in BSL-3-b1 laboratories with atmospheric pressure differentials exceeding 50% of the standard lower limit was 94.7%; and the atmospheric pressure differential in the main rooms of BSL-3-b2 laboratories reached a maximum of nearly -160 Pa. On the premise of ensuring the cleanliness and pressure gradient of the main room, it may be possible to reduce the air change. This study, for the first time, reveals the environmental parameters of various types and levels of biosafety laboratories, which can provide reference for the design and operation of such facilities.

Promoting agricultural international trade to agricultural ecological environment governance is an important step in the process of agricultural modernization, which is helpful to realize the rural revitalization strategy and ensure national food security. In this essay, Henan Province was taken as an example to evaluate the performance of agricultural eco-environmental governance in Henan Province from 2013 to 2021. In this study, entropy weight -TOPSIS model was used to select 11 indicators from four dimensions of agricultural production conditions, agricultural non-point source pollution, agricultural output level and the intensity of ecological environment governance to construct the performance evaluation index system of agricultural ecological environment governance. TOPSIS model results showed that agricultural non-point source pollution had the greatest impact on agricultural eco-environmental performance evaluation in Henan Province. The performance score of agricultural eco-environmental governance in Henan Province showed a V-shaped distribution, which decreased year by year from 2013 to 2016 and increased year by year from 2017 to 2021.
