1. Nonconstant electronic density of states tunneling inversion for A15 superconductors: Nb3Sn

Abstract

We re-examine the tunneling data on A15 superconductors by performing a generalized McMillan-Rowell tunneling inversion that incorporates a nonconstant electronic density of states obtained from band-structure calculations. For Nb3Sn, we find that the fit to the experimental data can be slightly improved by taking into account the sharp structure in the density of states, but it is likely that such an analysis alone is not enough to completely explain the superconducting tunneling characteristics of this material. Nevertheless, the extracted Eliashberg function displays a number of features expected to be present for the highest quality Nb3Sn samples., Comment: 11 pages, 11 figures

Abstract

In the discussion, it shows that sputtering a special combination of CeO2 and YSZ targets in the inverted cylindrical geometry arrangement is reported produces CYZ films with good epitaxial properties. The sputtering atmosphere influences clearly the CeO (sub 2-) content and thereby the lattice constant of the CYZ films.

Abstract

A system which allows simultaneous deposition of high temperature superconductivity (HTS) films on both sides of 3-inch wafers was constructed and described. A heating cavity where wafers are placed can be heated to 1000 degrees C. The use of inverted cylindrical magnetron sputtering guns enables the deposition through two opposite holes. A growth quality and T(sub c) and j(sub c) values comparable to standard films with sufficient uniformity on both sides of the wafer were revealed by YBaCuO films deposited on 3 inch CeO2 buffered substrates.

Abstract

Dielectric resonators for a two pole filter were developed and tested. They consist of LaAlO3 single crystalline cylinders covered on the cylindrical surface by 4 micrometer gold films and on the end faces by 350 nm YBa2cu3O7-delta thin films. The two-pole bandpass filters fabricated from the resonators have an insertion loss of -0.26 dB at their center frequencies of 6.3 GHz at 77 K.
