Bookkeeping data free of fraud and errors are a cornerstone of legitimate business operations. The highly complex and laborious work of financial auditors calls for finding new solutions and algorithms to ensure the correctness of financial statements. Both supervised and unsupervised machine learning (ML) techniques nowadays are being successfully applied to detect fraud and anomalies in data. In accounting, it is a long-established problem to detect financial misstatements deemed anomalous in general ledger (GL) data. Currently, widely used techniques such as random sampling and manual assessment of bookkeeping rules become challenging and unreliable due to increasing data volumes and unknown fraudulent patterns. To address the sampling risk and financial audit inefficiency, we applied seven supervised ML techniques inclusive of deep learning and two unsupervised ML techniques such as isolation forest and autoencoders. We trained and evaluated our models on a real-life GL dataset and used data vectorization to resolve journal entry size variability. The evaluation results showed that the best trained supervised and unsupervised models have high potential in detecting predefined anomaly types as well as in efficiently sampling data to discern higher-risk journal entries. Based on our findings, we discussed possible practical implications of the resulting solutions in the accounting and auditing contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: to research the evolution of money as a social technology of account under digitization. Methods: dialectical approach to cognition of social phenomena using the general scientific and specific scientific methods of cognition. Results: Throughout the history of monetary thought, economists have predominantly emphasized the function of money as a medium of exchange along with the intrinsic properties that enhance its salability and credibility as the most liquid store of value. But the social institution of money co-evolves with technology. It is significant that the advent of digital crypto-currencies was initiated by computer scientists and has taken economists completely by surprise. As a consequence, it also forces us to rethink the basic phenomenology of money. In accordance with the views of Wieser and Schumpeter, digitization brings to the fore the immaterial function of money as a standard of value and social technology of account, which increasingly absorbs its function as a medium of exchange. The potential impact of this on economic policy is huge. The variety of different crypto coins has proven the technical feasibility of competing private currencies as proposed by Hayek. In the long term, however, there is reason to doubt the persistence of intense competition. One must fear that major digital platforms will extend their current dominance in multisided virtual market places to include digital payments and money. Central banks are increasingly anxious to preserve public sovereignty over the common unit of account and are considering issuing their own digital fiat money. After the current era of intense creative experimentation, the potentially new spontaneous order of private crypto-currencies is likely to be supplanted by central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), the design of which will depend on deliberate public choices and policies. Scientific novelty: the work discloses the provisions of the Austrian theoretical discourse on the proper phenomenology of money, contrasting Menger’s canonical explanation with the ‘heretical’ and largely forgotten views of Wieser and Schumpeter. Also, the work offers a brief look back at the early origins of money and shows that credit and related accounts became important drivers of financial development long before coins were minted. The author examines two major innovations of the current digitization of money: a) the emergence of crypto coins, and b) the probable emergence of central bank digital currencies.Practical significance: the main provisions and conclusions of the article can be used in scientific, pedagogical and law enforcement activities when considering the issues related to regulation of monetary-credit policy of the states.

- Abstract
Our platform, the Transport Network Vehicle System, connects drivers who use their vehicles with clients to provide transportation services for compensation. We also have a Financial Management System that helps organisations monitor their assets, revenue and costs to maximise profits and ensure long-term success. This system improves the accuracy and flexibility of financial records, which is crucial for supporting economic growth. We used an agile methodology to develop our proposed system. The project team gathered data for requirement analysis and conducted interviews to develop a solution. We then designed a prototype and received feedback to identify bugs and fix issues. This process allowed us to tailor our solution to meet the precise needs and desires of the company.

ENTERPRISE resource planning software ,ENTERPRISE resource planning ,WEB-based user interfaces ,ACCOUNT books ,SOFTWARE frameworks - Abstract
Summary: Although numerous scientific papers have been written on deep learning, very few have been written on the exploitation of such technology in the field of accounting or bookkeeping. Our scientific study is oriented exactly toward this specific field. As accountants, we know the problems faced in modern accounting. Although accountants may have a plethora of information regarding technology support, looking for errors or fraud is a demanding and time‐consuming task that depends on manual skills and professional knowledge. Our efforts are oriented toward resolving the problem of error‐detection automation that is currently possible through new technologies, and we are trying to develop a web application that will alleviate the problems of journal entry anomaly detection. Our developed application accepts data from one specific enterprise resource planning system while also representing a general software framework for other enterprise resource planning developers. Our web application is a prototype that uses two of the most popular deep‐learning architectures; namely, a variational autoencoder and long short‐term memory. The application was tested on two different journals: data set D, learned on accounting journals from 2007 to 2018 and then tested during the year 2019, and data set H, learned on journals from 2014 to 2016 and then tested during the year 2017. Both accounting journals were generated by micro entrepreneurs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PT. GM Motor Pontianak is a company engaged in the sale and service of motorbikes. Service transaction data processing and motorbike sales are still managed in a simple way, namely recording transactions into a ledger and copied to Microsoft Excel for recapitulation or report presentation. The main problem that becomes an obstacle for the company is that the admin as a transaction data processor often makes mistakes and delays in making a recapitulation of monthly sales transactions, as well as errors in making financial reports. Therefore, this study discusses the design of an accounting information system that provides facilities to two users, namely the Admin and the Director. The admin can manage account data, spare part brands, spare part data, mechanical data, tariff data, account data, spare part purchase transactions, spare part sales transactions, service transactions, sales, and expense transactions. The director can process user data, access spare part stock reports, purchase reports, sales reports, service reports, mechanical incentive reports, general journal reports, general ledger reports, trial balance reports, and income statements. The system built is expected to help PT. GM Motor Pontianak in managing purchases, sales, and service transactions and producing financial reports in accordance with financial accounting standards.

"The essence of the blockchain technology lies in that via connected IT devices such a base of information is formed which simultaneously, with making a thousand copies, is able to register data of transactions, automated transactions, without any external supervision and the possibility of retrospective one-sided modification. Many believe that the system of blockchain (and the digital general ledger system forming its base) will bring about such a change into our lives which the Internet brought when it started to spread in the 1990s. The most successful examples of blockchains so far are financial tools. The Court of the European Union has already ruled in judgement no. C264/14 that bitcoin virtual currency is considered to be a contractual money, it is a direct money between economic actors who accept it. It is a perpetual dilemma of the law and legal regulations that lawmakers react to the events of everyday life slower than the speed at which economic actors find new solutions to various problems. Do new possibilities provided by blockchains surpass risks, or is it just like an Internet article warns: are hackers becoming the new lawyers? What can a corporate lawyer say to the previous question − can salary be asked for in bitcoin? This presentation tries to answer the question of how much the blockchain system facilitates the conclusion of employment contracts or the fulfillment, the control, and the administration of employment relationships and whether the human element is indispensable in the operation of these systems."

In global corporations, outsourcing side business services has become increasingly popular within the last 20 years. In financial management, there are many laws that global companies must follow, generating high finance and accountancy costs. Strategic management is crucial to stay competitive in the global market.A new business model that combines austerity measures with high-quality finance and accounting services is becoming popular worldwide thanks to changes in company structures. This paper aims to indicate how a certain business model impacts financial management globally and how the business structure changes as the company grows. This paper analyses trend in global business, establishing a separate legal organisation for finance and accounting purposes only, to provide these types of services for business units all over the world within a capital group.

Electronic invoicing has been mandatory for Italian companies since January 2019. All the invoices are structured in a predefined xml template which facilitates the extraction of the information. The main aim of this paper is to exploit the information contained in electronic invoices to build an intelligent system which can simplify accountants&rsquo, work. More precisely, this contribution shows how it is possible to automate part of the accounting process: all the invoices of a company are classified into specific codes which represent the economic nature of the financial transactions. To accomplish this classification task, a multiclass classification algorithm is proposed to predict two different target variables, the account and the VAT codes, which are part of the general ledger entry. To apply this model to real datasets, a multi-step procedure is proposed: first, a matching algorithm is used for the reconstruction of the training set, then input data are elaborated and prepared for the training phase, and finally a classification algorithm is trained. Different classification algorithms are compared in terms of prediction accuracy, including ensemble models and neural networks. The models under comparison show optimal results in the prediction of the target variables, meaning that machine learning classifiers succeed in translating the complex rules of the accounting process into an automated model. A final study suggests that best performances can be achieved considering the hierarchical structure of the account codes, splitting the classification task into smaller sub-problems.

New guidelines of omnichannel and ecosystem are emerging driven by modern digital transformation of the banking business. To improve customer experience of interaction with banking services more banks are switching to the omnichannel model. In this model, the customer is able to perform operations in a unified interface using any communication methods, and sees no difference in the processes between off-line and on-line operations. This requires changes in a bank’s IT architecture, whose center is a bank data warehouse. The aim of this study is to show the possibility of developing a method for designing a banking data warehouse so that it can be easily adaptable for new business projects and tasks. The authors used the following research methods : analysis, logical modeling of the identified relationships. They developed an adaptive banking data warehouse designer in the environments of SAP PowerDesigner, StarUML, PL/SQL Developer. The article tackles the approach towards development of an adaptive model of a banking data warehouse, based on the principle of splitting data into components. It makes it possible to set the warehouse contours for specific business tasks, combine elements, and expand the structure of the banking data warehouse in the context of its integration with various external software objects. The article highlights the interaction between the components of the banking data warehouse and business tasks, the list of which can be expanded in the context of various bank projects. The article provides a detailed description of the basic set of components of the adaptive banking data warehouse model. This set may serve as the foundation for designing a banking data warehouse for a specific business task. The article provides the data model and attribute composition of the General Ledger component, the data model of the Plastic Cards, Transactions, Applications, Contractors, etc. components, as well as indicates the relationships between the components. The study presents design features of a new type of the banking data warehouse. The authors concentrate on the technological features of creating a unified front-end omnichannel banking system as a separate task. They conclude that the developed basic set of components and business objects of adaptive banking data warehouse will ensure data integrity and reduce design time.

Organizations and people that use computers can describe their needs for information security and trust in systems in terms of three major requirements which are confidentiality, integrity and availability. Payroll and general ledger were among the first processes to become automated. However, organizations have continuously experienced targeted attacks and on an increasingly frequent basis. Security risk is increasing due to increased internal and external threats. Subsequently, security is getting harder to manage. In this climate, organizations must employ strategies to direct their security efforts and should optimize their limited resources. The study endeared to analyze and evaluate security strategies utilized in the financial management systems with the sole aim of driving innovation and generating competitive advantage. The researcher utilized desktop literature review, this type of review critiques and summarizes a body of literature and draws conclusions about the topic in question. The study found that many organizations operate in large-scale network environments with numerous servers, fixed terminals and portable wireless devices including laptops and smart phones. In addition, there are employees with complex access profiles to masses of information at varying levels of sensitivity. The strategies focused on security risk management include prevention, deterrence, surveillance, detection, response, deception, perimeter defense and layering. Of importance is the loss prevention which focuses on what critical assets are and how they can be protected. Attacks can be prevented by employing these strategies and the improvement of system efficiency. The study recommended that strategies should be devised to contend with risk exposure in financial security environments which requires a systematic and comprehensive approach with a view to learning and developing situational awareness especially from security incidents. financial statements ,balance sheet ,income statement ,general ledger - Abstract
Financijska izvješća čine bilanca, račun dobiti i gubitka, izvješće o novčanom tijeku, izvješće o svim promjenama glavnice i računovodstvene politike i bilješke uz financijska izvješća. Na svaki spomenuti dio financijskog izvješća stavlja se zaseban fokus kako bi se shvatila tematika rada., Financial statements are an indispensable tool in the business environment as they provide insight into the financial position and performance of the company. Based on the analysis of financial statements, an image of business ventures that companies have had in the past, but also in the present, is created, and based on that, guidelines for future successful operations are defined. The first part of the paper refers to the accounting information subsystem of reporting, which is a central part of the accounting information system of each company. After that, an attempt is made to explain the general ledger, its meaning, and its role in more detail. The updating and closing of the general ledger are followed by the compilation of financial statements that form a central part of the paper. The financial statements comprise the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, statement of any changes in equity and accounting policies, and notes to the financial statements. A separate focus is placed on each mentioned part of the financial report to understand the topic of the paper.

This study was designed to collect data on key issues related to implementation of the digital forms of tax checks, in particular e-audit, Fiscal Services of different countries. The research is focused on three-areas: a) to explore the essence and the structure of Standard Audit File for Tax; b) to learn the international experience of using tax audit files; c) to develop recommendations on the possibility of introducing the most effective methods in national practice.Standard Audit File for Tax (SAF-T) is an electronic file, which contains accurate audit data, exported from the initial accounting system. SAF-T 1.0 consists of four sections: «Header», «Master Files», «General Ledger Entries» and «Source Documents». In version 2.0, 8 subunits were added to the «Master Files» section: «Taxonomies», «UOMT Table», «Analysis Type Table», «Transaction Type Table», «Products», «Physical Stock», «Owners» and «Assets».The experience of the implementation and components of tax audit files of the leading European countries indicate that: a) most countries use the tax audit file in accordance with the recommendations of the OSER (Portugal, Norway, Austria, Lithuania), but there are some that have substantially modified it (Singapore); b) there are different ways to provide data: from pilot projects and voluntary application, to mandatory filing by certain categories or by all taxpayers; c) mainly the fiscal authorities apply the phased implementation of tax audit files in practice (Austria, Lithuania, Norway, etc.).It is established that before introducing SAF-T into national practice, it is worth considering that the standard approach can be neither practical nor desirable because each tax service faces a variety of conditions, the legislative environment, administrative practice and the tax culture of taxpayers.

From Aristotle to Ricardo and Menger, economists have emphasised the function of money as a medium of exchange together with the intrinsic qualities that increase its saleability and credibility as a most liquid store of value. But the social institution of money co-evolves with technology. It is significant that the advent of digital cryptocurrencies was initiated by computer scientists and has taken economists completely by surprise. As a consequence, it also forces our profession to rethink the basic phenomenology of money. In accordance with the views of Wieser and Schumpeter, digitization brings to the fore its immaterial function as a standard of value and social technology of account, which increasingly absorbs that of a medium of exchange. The potential impact on economic policy is huge. Central banks are increasingly anxious to preserve public sovereignty over the common unit of account and consider issuing their own digital fiat money. After the current era of intense creative experimentation, the potentially new spontaneous order of private crypto-currencies is likely to be supplanted by central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), the design of which will depend on deliberate public choices and policies.

The procedures of collecting, processing and disseminating information on research and development (R&D) reports and theses in Russia are specified by the federal-level grey literature (GL) information system introduced into production use at the Centre of Information Technologies and Systems of Executive State Authorities (abbreviated in Russian as CITIS). The continuity of input document flow is secured by the federal law "On the obligatory copy of documents". The quantity of arriving documents is important from both theoretical and practical points of view: it reflects the scientific activity of academic community and an executive discipline of scientists; it determines the distribution of workload over time and the completeness of the federal collection. In the paper the system's input flow analysis is presented based on statistical records of many years. Numerical data in relative and absolute values are given. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism used in Bitcoin, along with other concepts, makes it increasingly popular. In this case, researchers introduce a new quantitative framework to analyze the security and performance implications of the various Consensus and network parameters of the Proof of Work Blockchain. Emerging innovative technology can be called Blockchain. Blockchain is a distributed digital ledger where transactions are recorded after verification. Transactions in the General ledger that have been verified by multiple clients in the Peer to Peer network using one of the many varied consensus algorithms to resolve problems within the network involving multiple nodes that cannot be used. The algorithm to be used is Proof of Work (PoW), a protocol that has a function to prevent cyber-attack activities (DDos) that can weaken a computer system resources. The idea behind the PoW algorithm is that certain jobs are done to block transactions before they are proposed to the entire network. For that, using the PoW consensus algorithm certificate on the Blockchain is certainly the creation of a real certificate and cannot be manipulated.

This study aims to mapping the halal tourism destination using GIS blockchain based on PNPOLY. The Ripple Protocol Consensus Algorithm (RPCA) is used to develop the blockchain. In this experiment, the data from the surveyor are input using an application that connects to the transaction set node. Then, the transaction set nodes to send the data to the transaction proposal node. The transaction proposal nodes would then distribute data to each validation data of the connected nodes to execute smart contracts with the PNPOLY method because this method used to perform smart contracts in supervising the performance of surveyors in conducting data inputs and coordinates of tourist assets according to real conditions in the field. If the smart contract process is successful with a maximum error tolerance of 20% in other transaction proposals, then this node records the new chain to the general ledger. The result of this process is a mapping of the halal tourism destination in city of Surabaya.

Research Question: REA enterprise ontology framework, what is it good for? Motivation: The historical approach to accounting and management information system design was based on conventions expected by the end-users: debits and credits, accounting cycles, general ledger and journals, bank reconciliations, budgeting function, and select management reports. This approach resulted in gross inefficiencies, data-duplication, and inconsistencies, difficulty with system update, modification, porting, and restoration. An alternative system design theory has been in development since 1982, an approach that is easy to understand, formulate, document, and implement; an approach that applies a basic semantic model of structuring all information flow into a widely applicable enterprise ontology framework that facilitates economic activities and strategic planning for the whole enterprise. Yet, until now, this approach is insufficiently known and seldom utilized. Idea: Our purpose is to provide a comprehensive theory guide for anyone desiring to be acquainted with the REA. Data: We review 55 publications comprising dominant Resource-Events-Agents (REA) theory research. Tools: Methodologically, we obtain, classify, define, and discuss the content of major research streams within REA domain. Contribution: The paper's contribution is in structured and comprehensive review enabling a novice to REA reader time-efficient acquaintance with the intricacies and benefits of the ontology, and information system researchers with wide-ranging theory review in this domain. We conclude with a discussion of contentions and challenges surrounding REA theory and its future developmental directions.

Business transactions are typically recorded in the company ledger. The primary purpose of such financial information is to accompany a monthly or quarterly report for executives to make sound business decisions and strategies for the next business period. These business strategies often result in transitions that cause underlying infrastructures and components to change, including alteration in the nomenclature system of the business components. As a result, a transaction stream of an affected component would be replaced by another stream with a different component name, resulting in discontinuity of a financial stream of the same component. Recently, advancement in large-scale data mining technologies has enabled a set of critical applications to utilize knowledge extracted from a vast amount of existing data that would otherwise have been unused or underutilized. In financial and services computing domains, recent studies have illustrated that historical financial data could be used to predict future revenues and profits, optimizing costs, among other potential applications. These prediction models rely on long-term availability of the historical data that traces back for multiple years. However, the discontinuity of the financial transaction stream associated with a business component has limited the learning capability of the prediction models. In this article, we propose a set of machine learning–based algorithms to automatically discover component name replacements, using information available in general ledger databases. The algorithms are designed to be scalable for handling massive data points, especially in large companies. Furthermore, the proposed algorithms are generalizable to other domains whose data is time series and shares the same nature as the financial data available in business ledgers. A case study of real-world IBM service delivery retrieved from four different geographical regions is used to validate the efficacy of the proposed methodology.

When the researchers conducted studies Implementation Method Waterfall In Registration Information System Web-Based Outpatient Mobile, researchers found that the health center belongs to the municipality located in the village of Lubuk Tanjung Lubuk Linggau felt the need for development in line with increased demand for health services for the community. PHC Tanjung Lubuk Housing is in the process of registration of outpatients manuallyor still use conventional manner, includes data recording the identity of the patient, make a list of queues, search medical records of patients, as well as card making patients. When enrollment of patients when treatment would still be written in a ledger and patient data and data ever experienced disease (medical records) was recorded in the general ledger and certain records and stored in a special file. This often times lead to errors and writing the name of the same patient when treated umpteenth time and the difficulty in grouping the data requires considerable time as well as the lack of assurance of data security. If we want to find the patient data needed to be looking in the archives of books one by one to determine such data. With the support of information technology, manual processing in the clinic can be replaced using a computer. In addition to fast and easy with the information system has been made of data processing has also become more accurate. The method used in the information system of registration of outpatient-based mobile web in BPS town Lubuklinggau this, and to know the running system, using a structured approach using several tools like Uml, use case diagrams, activity, sequence diagram, class diagram , while for the system development method using a sequential linear or often called "the development cycle of the classic" or "waterfall model / waterfall". Support software used is Xampp, Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, PHP, and MySQL databases as well as the builder of program documentation and reports. With a system based on the mobile web, which is already connected to the Internet, of course, would greatly facilitate the processing of census data suseda to be stored and will be very helpful in terms of data storage census suseda, because each finished data can be collected more quickly, accurately and save time with the specified schedule.
