Abstract

The photocatalytic activity of 2D/2D/0D heterostructures based on few-layer black phosphorus (FLBP) g-C3N4/FLBP/Co2P in the reaction of photocatalytic hydrogen formation from an aqueous solution of triethanolamine under under visible light irradiation (400 nm) was studied for the first time. An original method for the preparation of the g‑C3N4/FLBP/Co2P composite photocatalyst is proposed, which consists of the solvothermal synthesis of cobalt phosphide Co2P nanoparticles, their immobilization on the surface of FLBP, and subsequent mixing of the FLBP/Co2P heterostructure with g‑C3N4. The synthesized photocatalysts were characterized by physicochemical analytical methods (X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy). The hydrogen evolution rate in the presence of the g‑C3N4/FLBP/Co2P heterostructure was 0.09 mmol h–1, which is 25 times higher than the same characteristic for the unmodified g‑C3N4 sample. Abstract

For the first time, amorphous TiO2 aerogels with a high specific surface area (420 m2/g) and low geometric density (~0.1 g/cm3) were obtained using epoxide-induced gelation in N,N-dimethylformamide. Impregnation of the resulting aerogels with aqueous solutions of H2PtCl6 and NaBH4 followed by thermal annealing made it possible to obtain Pt/TiO2 photocatalysts, which showed very high activity for titanium dioxide–based aerogels in the generation of hydrogen from aqueous alcohol solutions (~5 h–1 g–1). Abstract

Four-component oxide catalysts MnOx–CuO–ZrO2–CeO2 are synthesized by co-precipitation with varying the calcination temperature from 400 °C to 800 °C. Formation and decomposition processes in mixed oxides are studied by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The redox properties of the obtained samples are tested by temperature-programmed hydrogen reduction, and the catalytic characteristics are examined in the CO oxidation reaction. At 400-600 °C homogeneous solid solution MnxCuyZrzCeqO2 with the fluorite structure is formed. Temperature elevation to 700-800 °C facilitates the gradual decomposition of initial oxide, with manganese and copper cations leaving its composition in the form of highly dispersed CuO and CuxMn3–xO4 particles. The occurrence of different active states in the catalyst and their transitions into each other under the temperature effect is shown to maintain the high activity in the CO oxidation reaction up to 800 °C. Abstract

Hydrogen production from methane with CO2 utilization over exsolution derived NiCu/CeO2 catalysts was studied. To form highly dispersed supported bimetallic NiCu particles the Ce0.75(NiCu)0.25O1.75 catalyst precursors (Cu/Ni molar ratio = 0; 0.004; 0.04; 0.25) were prepared by polymerizable complex method with the following reduction at 800 °C. A comparative study of the genesis, textural, structural and morphological properties of materials has been carried out by ex situ and in situ methods. It was shown that Ce0.75(NiCu)0.25O1.75 samples were fluorite-like ceria-based solid solutions with a mesoporous texture. Copper promotion has a positive effect on self-activation and hydrogen yield by improving the reducibility of the catalyst, lowering the exsolution temperature of the Ni2+ cations, and maintaining the concentration of oxygen vacancies. The catalyst of optimal composition NiCu/CeO2 (9.4 wt. % Ni, 0.4 wt. % Cu) formed from Ce0.75(NiCu)0.25O1.75 with Cu/Ni = 0.04 is resistant to coking and provides high hydrogen yield (82%) and CO2 utilization (78%) in steam/CO2 reforming of methane at 850 °C. Abstract

The La1–xCaxMn0.5Co0.5O3 solid solutions (x = 0.2-0.6) are prepared by the Pechini method and characterized by a number of physical and chemical methods. It is shown that the oxygen nonstoichiometry in the samples significantly increases with increasing number of calcium cations in the La sublattice. The thermal analysis of the samples shows that the lattice oxygen is released at ~600 °C for all samples and that its amount increases with increasing calcium content. The in situ powder XRD data obtained in the He atmosphere indicate that the studied solid solutions with x ≥ 0.4 are unstable under these conditions and may exhibit partial structural destruction and that the ABO3 complex oxide in the system with x = 0.6 transforms into a phase characterized by the A2BO4 structural type of the Ruddlesden–Popper series.
