Pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai alternatif pengobatan banyak ditemukan di masyarakat desa. Salah satunya Desa Pagersari yang merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Pagerageung, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Desa ini terletak di bagian utara Tasikmalaya. Sebagian besar mata pencaharian penduduk di sana merupakan petani, sehingga lingkungannya masih relatif dikelilingi oleh pesawahan yang sebagian besar lahannya dipakai untuk padi, palawija, sayuran dan tanaman lainnya. Selain itu masyarakat di kalangan ibu rumah tangga juga sering menanam tanaman obat di pekarangan rumah. Namun, pemanfaatannya masih belum optimal karena kurangnya pengetahuan dalam mengolah potensi sumberdaya yang dimiliki. Salah satu tanaman yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal adalah pegagan yang banyak tumbuh di Desa Pagersari. Pegagan berkhasiat untuk meningkatkan imun, membersihkan darah, melancarkan peredaran darah, kecantikan, dan lain-lain. Pegagan ini dapat dijadikan masker yang dapat digunakan kapan saja sebagai penunjang kecantikan atau penunda penuaan dini. Masker pegagan bisa dikemas dalam bentuk menarik menjadi masker wajah. Selain itu teh pegagan ini terjamin proses pembuatanya karena melalui tahapan yang sudah sesuai dengan syarat P-IRT. Program pengabdian masyarakat (Pengembangan Masyarakat Desa Binaan) ini menginisiasi pembuatan masker pegagan yang ditanam sendiri serta siap digunakan kapan saja. Masyarakat Desa Pagersari akan dibina melalui penyuluhan dan praktik pembuatan masker pegagan dari mulai pengolahan tanaman obat hingga berbentuk kemasan sehingga bisa dijadikan produk industri rumah tangga (P-IRT) sebagai bukti bahwa produk tersebut terjamin dan aman. Program ini dapat membantu pengembangan tanaman pegagan di Desa Pagersari yang dapat dijadikan sebagai produk kosmetik dan penunjang kecantikan untuk selanjutnya dapat dikemas dalam bentuk kemasan yang menarik dan dapat dijual sehingga meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. One of them is Pagersari Village which is one of the villages in Pagerageung District, Tasikmalaya Regency. This village is located in the northern part of Tasikmalaya. Most of the livelihoods of the people there are farmers, so the environment is still relatively surrounded by rice fields, most of which are used for rice, secondary crops, vegetables and other crops. In addition, people among housewives also often plant medicinal plants in their yards. However, its utilization is still not optimal due to lack of knowledge in processing the potential of its resources. One of the plants that has not been used optimally is pegagan which grows a lot in Pagersari Village. Pegagan is efficacious for increasing immunity, cleansing the blood, improving blood circulation, beauty, and others. Pegagan can be used as a mask that can be used at any time to support beauty or delay premature aging. Pegagan masks can be packaged in an attractive form into a face mask. In addition, pegagan tea is guaranteed to be made because it goes through stages that are in accordance with the P-IRT requirements. This community service program (Development of Fostered Village Community) initiates the manufacture of pegagan masks that are self-grown and ready to be used at any time. The community of Pagersari Village will be fostered through counseling and the practice of making pegagan masks from processing medicinal plants to packaging so that they can be used as home industry products (P-IRT) as proof that the product is guaranteed and safe. This program can help the development of pegagan plants in Pagersari Village which can be used as cosmetic and beauty support products which can then be packaged in attractive packaging and can be sold so as to improve the community's economy. Hair loss is a disorder in which the amount of hair decreases or falls out more than usual without visible thinning. Hair care requires a variety of cosmetic products such as hair conditioner, cream bath and hair tonic. Hair tonic has several advantages in optimizing efforts to prevent hair loss compared to other hair treatments. Sansevieria leaves (Sansevieria trifasciata) is a plant known as an ornamental plant. Almost all parts of the sansevieria leaves can be used, but not many know that the sansevieria leaves can be used as a hair tonic to treat hair loss. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of maceration and soxhletation methods on the physical stability of hair tonic preparations of sansevieria leaves extract with varying concentrations of 1%, 3% and 6%. Evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic, pH, specific gravity and viscosity tests. Physical stability tests were carried out at low temperatures (4oC) and high temperatures (40oC). Fever is a condition where the body temperature rises above normal or more than 37 o C and also tend to be an initial clinical manifestation of the use of antipyretic drugs that cause toxicity such as on the liver due to prolonged usage . Particularly, the b angle ( Zingiber purpureum Roxb.) is one of the Zingiberaceae plants that contain essential oils used for the treatment of fever. Therefore, this research aimed to identify active compounds which have antipyretics potential with the in silico approach. The simulation of molecular docking showed 1,4-naphthalenedione-2-ethyl-3-hydroxy was able to attach to the binding site of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and interact with main residues that constituted the active cavity of COX-2. While the simulation of molecular dynamics suggested that the bound compound was stable at 4 ns, that is the time taken. The binding free energies expected by the MM-PBSA method indicated the 1,4-naphthalenedione-2-ethyl-3-hydroxy had a higher affinity than a native ligand (2-[(2,6-dichloro-3-methyl-phenyl)-amino] benzoic acid, JMS) and paracetamol. This suggested its capacity for advancing as a new COX-2 inhibitor.

Kebutuhan suplemen penambah stamina atau tonikum bisa didapatkan dari mengkonsumsi tanaman herbal. Pemanfaatan tanaman herbal untuk tonikum mempunyai kelebihan tersendiri dibandingkan senyawa sintetik. Buah kapolaga (Amomum cardamomum) adalah tanaman perdu banyak terdapat di wilayah Indonesia, masyarakat biasanya menggunakan kapolaga untuk bumbu masakan. Buah kapolaga memiliki potensi besar dalam bidang farmasi, yaitu adanya senyawa flavonoid yang bermanfaat sebagai tonikum. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui mengetahui efek tonikum pada mencit dan menentukan pada konsentrasi berapa dapat memberikan efek tonikum yang optimum. Uji efek tonikum dilakukan menggunakan uji renang kemudian dilihat waktu pada petahanan berenang mencit. Metode uji renang yang digunakan adalah natatory exhaustion. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa infusa buah kapolaga pada dosis 2,5 g/kgBB, 5,0 g/kgBB dan 10 g/kgBB pada metode ketahanan berenang menunjukkan efek tonikum pada mencit (Mus musculus). Infusa buah kapolaga pada konsentrasi 10 g/kgBB menunjukkan efek tonikum yang paling baik pada mencit, tetapi efeknya masih lebih kecil daripada pemberian kafein sebagai pembanding.
