In the practice of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it is established in the main scientific areas to periodically award gold medals named after outstanding domestic scientists of agrarian science on a competitive basis. According to the profile of agroengineering science, such a medal is dedicated to the founder of the doctrine of agricultural machines, Academician Vasily Prokhorovich Goryachkin. (Research purpose). To carry out a survey of the agricultural engineering science from the historical perspective, summarize its scientific achievements and recreate a holistic picture of the scientific heritage left by the followers of V.P. Goryachkin, who are known in the agricultural engineering science as laureates of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after V.P. Goryachkin. (Materials and methods). The article traces the development of scientific ideas of V.P. Goryachkin in the works of renowned domestic scientists in the agricultural engineering sciences. (Results and discussion). The article presents a holistic picture of the scientific achievements from 1971 to 2022 made by the followers of V.P. Goryachkin, those who were awarded the Gold Medal named after him. For more than 50 years, fifteen outstanding scientists have been awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after V.P. Goryachkin, in particular: V.A. Zheligovsky (1971), I.I. Artobolevsky (1974), P.I. Vasilenko (1977), I.A. Budzko (1986), G.E. Listopad (1989), N.I. Klenin (1992), N.V. Krasnoshchekov (1995), V.I. Chernoivanov (1998), I.P. Ksenevich (2001), L.P. Kormanovsky (2004), V.M. Kryazhkov (2008), V.I. Syrovatke (2011), E.V. Zhalnin (2014), A.I. Zavrazhnov (2018), M.N. Erokhin (2022). (Conclusions) Outstanding Russian scientists, laureates of the Academician V.P. Goryachkin gold medal made a huge contribution to the further development of agroengineering science and education, the formation of fundamental scientific schools, the development of theoretical and practical foundations for the creation of innovative technologies, systems and machine complexes.

Since 1927, the American College of Radiology (ACR) has awarded Gold Medals to up to four individuals each year in recognition of their distinguished and extraordinary service to the ACR or to the discipline of radiology (American College of Radiology, n.d. [1]). As of 2019, only 10 of 194 Gold Medalists have been women. In May 2021, Dr. Cheri L. Canon will become the eleventh woman in ACR history to receive this prestigious award. Contemporaneously, in November 2020, she received the highest honor bestowed by the American Association for Women in Radiology (AAWR), the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Award, presented annually to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of women in radiology or radiation oncology (American Association for Women in Radiology, n.d. In recent years, some Chinese people's mentality of gold medal in competitive sports has changed from "gold medal first" to above "gold medal". There is a causal relationship between positive factors and negative factors in the change of this mentality. An in-depth study of the driving mechanism and influencing factors of the evolution of some Chinese people's mentality of gold medal is conducive to preventing the risks that may arise in the transformation of social consciousness, promoting the formation of Chinese people's positive mentality of gold medal in competitive sports, and providing ideological momentum for the overall development of China's sports cause and the construction of "sports power". From the perspective of social psychology, this paper analyzes the causes of the evolution of some Chinese people's mentality of gold medal in competitive sports by means of literature review and logical analysis. The result shows that the reasons for the change of some people's view of the gold medal in competitive sports in China are mainly influenced by the economic structure adjustment, political guidance and the dual role of the changes in social ideology and culture. The analysis of the driving mechanism of social psychological evolution under the framework of historical materialism is of positive significance to the weakening of Chinese people's mentality of gold medal in competitive sports. However, how to avoid its negative effect on competitive sports and to cultivate the Chinese people's view of gold medal to the positive aspect will be a new challenge in die field of sports and education in China in the new era.
