Objective·To construct a structural equation model based on problem behavior theory to conduct a study on social network addiction among junior college students.Methods·A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted in a college in Shanghai. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the effects of gender, grade, study pressure, self-esteem, loneliness, depression, entrapment, defeat, interpersonal needs, perceived social support, smoking, alcohol, exercise, and academic achievement on social network service addiction. Based on the problem behavior theory, the structural equation model was used to construct a theoretical framework model of social network service addiction of junior college students.Results·60.31% of the total 980 participants had social network service addiction. The univariate Logistic regression results showed that depression, self-esteem, loneliness, frustration, drowsiness, social support, interpersonal needs, exercise, and academic performance had a significant impact on social network addiction. The structural equation model fitted well [S－Bχ2/df=8.03, goodness-of-fit index (GFI)=0.924, comparative fit index (CFI)=0.909, Tucker-Lewis index (TLI)=0.872, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA)=0.096, standardized root mean square residual (SRMR)=0.070], suggesting the mutual influence between the personality system and the perceived environment system, between the personality system and the behavioral system, and between the perceived environment system and the behavior system interact (β=1.018, P=0.000; β=0.218, P=0.003; β=0.268, P=0.000). The influence of personality system and behavior system on social network service addiction was not statistically significant, while the perceived environment system had a significant positive impact on social network service addiction (β=0.481, P=0.001).Conclusion·Personality system and behavior system indirectly affect social network service addiction by influencing perceived environment system, and perceived environment system directly affects social network service addiction. For the problem of social network addiction among lower grade college students, it is necessary to fully respect the characteristics of college students, and work together from three levels of the system to reduce the risk of social network addiction among college students.

Summary: Insomnia displays heterogeneous trajectories across adolescence, which may induce addictive behaviours, including internet gaming disorder and substance use. This study aimed to investigate the latent trajectory classes of insomnia symptoms over 2 years and to examine the associations between insomnia trajectories and these addictive behaviours. Participants were 910 adolescents from six middle schools in Shanghai, China (52.7% males; mean age = 13.17 years). The three‐wave survey measured insomnia symptoms, internet gaming disorder, substance use, depressive symptoms, and sociodemographic characteristics from 7th to 9th grade. Latent class growth modelling was performed to identify the latent trajectory classes of insomnia symptoms. Then multivariable logistic regressions were conducted within the best‐fitting latent class growth model to examine the associations of insomnia trajectories with internet gaming disorder and substance use. Two latent trajectory classes of insomnia symptoms were recognised: the non‐insomnia group (71.8%) and the insomnia group (28.2%). In the multivariable analysis controlling for baseline demographic variables and depressive symptoms, the insomnia group had a higher risk of developing internet gaming disorder (OR = 2.203 [95% CI: 1.258–3.858]) and substance use (OR = 2.215 [95% CI: 1.324–3.705]) compared with the non‐insomnia group. These findings add to a growing body of research on heterogeneous trajectories of insomnia symptoms during adolescence, suggesting that intervention strategies are needed to target the characteristics or developmental patterns of different insomnia subgroups. Elderly individuals face a high risk of hospitalization and death related to influenza, thus prioritizing them for influenza vaccination. Due to variations in the influenza virus and waning protective antibodies, annual influenza vaccination is recommended. However, research on repeated influenza vaccination among elderly individuals in China is limited. From 2020 to 2022, the average influenza vaccination coverage among registered elderly individuals in Shanghai was 4.1%, showing a declining trend over time. In 2020, the rate of repeated influenza vaccination among elderly individuals was 28.35%, which rose to almost two-thirds both in 2021 and 2022. No increased risk of adverse events following immunization was observed after repeated influenza vaccination during this period. Our study also found that elderly individuals with Shanghai household registration, managed by community clinics, and older age tended to receive more doses of repeated influenza vaccination throughout the period from 2020 to 2022. Increasing influenza vaccine coverage among elderly individuals in Shanghai is both urgent and challenging. Health authorities should intensify educational and promotional campaigns to encourage uptake of annual repeated influenza vaccination among elderly individuals.
