Two dual fluorescent/phosphorescent tris-heteroleptic mononuclear Ru(ΙΙ) complexes ( 2 and 3 ) were designed and applied in amyloid-β (Aβ) sensing. These complexes have a general formula of [Ru(phen)(dppz)( L )](PF 6 ) 2 , where L is (2-pyrazinyl)(2-pyridyl)(methyl)amine (H- L ) with different substituents (-OMe for 2 , -H for 3 ), phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, and dppz is dipyridophenazine, respectively. Compared with the previously reported ratiometric probe 1 with a di(pyrid-2-yl)(methyl)amine ligand, complex 2 can be employed for not only ratiometric emissive detection of Aβ aggregation but also ratiometric imaging detection of Aβ fibrils. In ratiometric emissive detection, as the incubation time of the Aβ sample (Aβ 40 and Aβ 42 ) was prolonged, a new phosphorescence emission band appeared with gradual enhancement of the emission intensity, while the fluorescence emission was basically unchanged, which could be treated as an intrinsic internal reference signal. In comparison, a larger ratiometric photoluminescence enhancement ( I 640 / I 440 ) was observed for Aβ 40 aggregation with respect to Aβ 42 . In ratiometric imaging detection, the imaging signals obtained from the phosphorescence emission are much brighter than the fluorescence emission in both Aβ 40 and Aβ 42 fibrils. As indicated by molecular docking results, stronger interactions were found between complex 2 with Aβ 40 fibrils, which included π/π, π/C-H, and π/H interactions between bidentate ligands dppz and phen with amino acid residues. Moreover, computational calculations were carried out to assist the interpretation of these experimental findings.

Zero-dimensional (0D) hybrid metal halides have been emerged as room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials, but synchronous optimization of multiple phosphorescence performance in one structural platform remains less resolved, and stable RTP activity in aqueous medium is also unrealized due to serious instability toward water and oxygen. Herein, we demonstrated a photophysical tuning strategy in a new 0D hybrid zinc halide family of (BTPP)2ZnX4 (BTPP = benzyltriphenylphosphonium, X = Cl and Br). Infrequently, the delicate combination of organic and inorganic species enables this family to display multiple ultralong green afterglow and efficient self-trapped exciton (STE) associated cyan phosphorescence. Compared with inert luminescence of [BTPP]+ cation, incorporation of anionic [ZnX4]2- effectively enhance the spin-orbit coupling effect, which significantly boosts the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) up to 30.66% and 54.62% for afterglow and phosphorescence, respectively. Synchronously, the corresponding luminescence lifetime extend to 143.94 ms and 0.308 μs surpassing the indiscernible phosphorescence of [BTPP]X salt. More importantly, this halide family presents robust RTP emission with nearly unattenuated PLQY in water and harsh condition (acid and basic aqueous solution) over half a year. Introduction: RESLES (Reversible splenial lesion syndrome) can be observed secondary to various diseases, and intramyelinic edema may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of SCC (Splenium of the corpus callosum). Some studies have suggested that hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy may constitute a risk factor for SCC lesions. However, the potential impact of high-altitude environments on SCC, especially during chronic exposure, remain obscure., Methods: Our study included 19 patients who satisfied the diagnostic criteria of RESLES at high altitudes. Ten low-altitude patients with RESLES were included as controls. All participants received MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) scans twice. Routine blood tests, liver, kidney and thyroid function, coagulation function, electrolytes and vitamins were detected during hospitalization and before discharge. In addition, the patients were followed up in May 2023., Results: Hypoxic environments at high altitudes may increase the risk of RESLES. The two groups showed different clinical symptoms. High-altitude patients had significantly higher CRP levels than low-altitude patients. The lesion size in high-altitude patients showed a positive correlation with SaO 2 levels. However, the patients at low altitudes had positive correlation trends between lesion size and several inflammatory markers (WBC, NEU and CRP). All patients had a benign prognosis that may not be affected by the use of prednisone acetate., Conclusions: Hypoxic environments at high altitudes may play a role in the aetiology of RESLES. Additionally, RESLES is a reversible disease and the administration of glucocorticoids may be dispensable for its treatment.

Photonic heterostructures with codable properties have shown great values as versatile information carriers at the micro and nanoscale. These heterostructures are typically prepared by a step-by-step growth or post-functionalization method to achieve varied emission colors among different building blocks. In order to realize high-throughput and multivariate information loading, we report here a strategy to integrate polarization signals into photonic heterojunctions. A U-shaped di-Pt(II) complex is assembled into highly-polarized yellow-phosphorescent crystalline microrods (Y-rod) by strong intermolecular Pt···Pt interaction. Upon end-initiated desorption of the incorporated CH2Cl2 solvents, Y-rod is transformed in a domino fashion into tri-block polarized photonic heterojunctions (PPHs) with alternate red-yellow-red emissions or red-phosphorescent microrods (R-rod). The red emissions of these structures are also highly polarized; however, their polarization directions are just orthogonal to those of the yellow phosphorescence of Y-rod. With the aid of a patterned mask, R-rod is further programmed into multi-block PPHs with precisely-controlled block sizes by side-allowed adsorption of CH2Cl2 vapor. X-ray diffraction analysis and theoretical calculations suggest that the solvent-regulated modulation of intramolecular and intermolecular excited states is critical for the construction of these PPHs., (© 2024 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

Background: The purpose of this study was to perform a biomechanical analysis to compare different medial column fixation patterns for valgus pilon fractures in a case-based model., Methods: Based on the fracture mapping, 48 valgus pilon fracture models were produced and assigned into four groups with different medial column fixation patterns: no fixation (NF), K-wires (KW), intramedullary screws (IS), and locking compression plate (LCP). Each group contained wedge-in and wedge-out subgroups. After fixing each specimen on the machine, gradually increased axial compressive loads were applied with a load speed of one millimeter per minute. The maximum peak force was set at 1500 N. Load-displacement curves were generated and the axial stiffness was calculated. Five different loads of 200 N, 400 N, 600 N, 800 N, 1000 N were selected for analysis. The specimen failure was defined as resultant loading displacement over 3 mm., Results: For the wedge-out models, Group-IS showed less displacement (p < 0.001), higher axial stiffness (p < 0.01), and higher load to failure (p < 0.001) than Group-NF. Group-KW showed comparable displacement under loads of 200 N, 400 N and 600 N with both Group-IS and Group-LCP. For the wedge-in models, no statistical differences in displacement, axial stiffness, or load to failure were observed among the four groups. Overall, wedge-out models exhibited less axial stiffness than wedge-in models (all p < 0.01)., Conclusions: Functional reduction with stable fixation of the medial column is essential for the biomechanical stability of valgus pilon fractures and medial column fixation provides the enough biomechanical stability for this kind of fracture in the combination of anterolateral fixation. In detail, the K-wires can provide a provisional stability at an early stage. Intramedullary screws are strong enough to provide the medial column stability as a definitive fixation. Abstract: This study aims to explore the value of real-time strain elastography (RTE) and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) in the diagnosis of breast BI-RADS 4 lesions. It collected 85 cases (totaling 85 lesions) diagnosed with breast BI-RADS 4 through routine ultrasound from October 2020 to December 2022 in Huangshan City People's Hospital. All lesions underwent RTE and CEUS examination before surgery, and the ImageJ software was used to measure the periphery of lesion images in the enhancement peak mode and grayscale mode to calculate the contrast-enhanced ultrasound area ratio. The diagnostic capabilities of single-modal and multimodal ultrasound examination for the malignancy of breast BI-RADS 4 lesions were compared using the receiver operating characteristic curve; the Spearman correlation analysis was adopted to evaluate the correlation between multimodal ultrasound and CEUS area ratio. As a result, among the 85 lesions, 51 were benign, and 34 were malignant. The areas under the curve (AUCs) of routine ultrasound (US), US + RTE, US + CEUS, and US + RTE + CEUS were 0.816, 0.928, 0.953, and 0.967, respectively, with the combined method showing a higher AUC than the single application. The AUC of the CEUS area ratio diagnosing breast lesions was 0.888. There was a strong positive correlation (r = 0.819, P < 0.001) between the diagnostic performance of US + RTE + CEUS and the CEUS area ratio. The operation of the Cansolv tail gas treatment device in natural gas plants generates acidic and alkaline wastewater from the venturi unit and amine purification unit (APU), respectively. The APU wastewater is complex in composition and contains hard-to-degrade organic matter, which can adversely impact the normal functioning of the water treatment system. This study assesses the efficacy of three ozone-based advanced oxidation processes (ozone (O 3 ), ozone/hydrogen peroxide (O 3 /H 2 O 2 ), and ozone/Fenton (O 3 /Fenton)) for treating Cansolv wastewater, with chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) serving as indicators of organic degradation. The findings demonstrate that all three processes effectively eliminate coloration and reducible sulfur, with O 3 /Fenton exhibiting superior performance in removing organic substances. The treated wastewater has a clarified light-yellow appearance with residual COD levels at 43 mg L -1 . Under the optimum Fenton oxidation conditions (initial pH 5, H 2 O 2 dosage 97.8 mmol L -1 , FeSO 4 ·7H 2 O dosage 550 mg L -1 ), average TOC and COD removal rates reached 50% and 97%, respectively. After a treatment duration of 60 minutes, the wastewater demonstrated an enhanced membrane-specific flux, confirming the effectiveness of the O 3 /Fenton oxidation process in mitigating membrane fouling while ensuring the stable operation of the wastewater treatment system., Competing Interests: There are no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could affect the work reported in this article., (This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry.)

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL)-active molecular materials have drawn increasing attention due to their promising applications for next-generation display and optoelectronic technologies. Currently, it is challenging to obtain CPL materials with both large luminescence dissymmetry factor (g lum ) and high quantum yield (Φ). A pair of enantiomeric N N C-type Pt(II) complexes (L/D)-1 modified with chiral Leucine methyl ester are presented herein. Though the solutions of these complexes are CPL-inactive, the spin-coated thin films of (L/D)-1 exhibit giantly-amplified circularly polarized phosphorescences with |g lum | of 0.53 at 560 nm and Φ air of ~50 %, as well as appealing circular dichroism (CD) signals with the maximum absorption dissymmetry factor |g abs | of 0.37-0.43 at 480 nm. This superior CPL performance benefits from the hierarchical formation of crystalline fibrillar networks upon spin coating. Comparative studies of another pair of chiral Pt(II) complexes (L/D)-2 with a symmetric N C N coordination mode suggest that the asymmetric N N C coordination of (L/D)-1 are favorable for the efficient exciton delocalization to amplify the CPL performance. Endowing the widely-used synthetic polymer nylon with high-performance organic room-temperature phosphorescence would produce advanced materials with a great potential for applications in daily life and industry. One key to achieving this goal is to find a suitable organic luminophore that can access the triplet excited state with the aid of the nylon matrix by controlling the matrix-luminophore interaction. Herein we report highly-efficient room-temperature phosphorescence nylons by doping cyano-substituted benzimidazole derivatives into the nylon 6 matrix. These homogeneously doped materials show ultralong phosphorescence lifetimes of up to 1.5 s and high phosphorescence quantum efficiency of up to 48.3% at the same time. The synergistic effect of the homogeneous dopant distribution via hydrogen bonding interaction, the rigid environment of the matrix polymer, and the potential energy transfer between doped luminophores and nylon is important for achieving the high-performance room-temperature phosphorescence, as supported by combined experimental and theoretical results with control compounds and various polymeric matrices. One-dimensional optical fibers are prepared from these doped room-temperature phosphorescence nylons that can transport both blue fluorescent and green afterglow photonic signals across the millimeter distance without significant optical attenuation. Recently, chiral metal-organic coordination materials have emerged as promising candidates for a wide range of applications in chiroptoelectronics, chiral catalysis, and information encryption, etc. Notably, the chiroptical effect of coordination chromophores makes them appealing for applications such as photodetectors, OLEDs, 3D displays, and bioimaging. The direct synthesis of chiral coordination materials using chiral organic ligands or complexes with metal-centered chirality is very often tedious and costly. In the case of ionic coordination materials, the combination of chiral anions with cationic, achiral coordination compounds through noncovalent interactions may endow molecular materials with desirable chiroptical properties. The use of such a simple chiral strategy has been proven effective in inducing promising circular dichroism and/or circularly polarized luminescence signals. This concept article mainly delves into the latest advances in exploring the efficacy of such a chiral anion strategy for transforming achiral coordination materials into chromophores with superb photo- or electro-chiroptical properties. In particular, ionic small-molecular metal complexes, metal clusters, coordination supramolecular assemblies, and metal-organic frameworks containing chiral anions are discussed. Objective: To evaluate the safety and antitumor activity of envafolimab monotherapy in Chinese patients with advanced solid tumors. Methods: This open-label, multicenter phase I trial included dose escalation and dose expansion phases. In the dose escalation phase, patients received subcutaneous 0.1, 0.3, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0 or 10.0 mg/kg envafolimab once weekly (QW) following a modified "3+ 3" design. The dose expansion phase was performed in the 2.5 mg/kg and 5.0 mg/kg (QW) dose cohorts. Results: At November 25, 2019, a total of 287 patients received envafolimab treatment. During the dose escalation phase, no dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) was observed. In all dose cohorts, drug-related treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) for all grades occurred in 75.3% of patients, and grade 3 or 4 occurred in 20.6% of patients. The incidence of immune-related adverse reactions (irAE) was 24.0% for all grades, the most common irAEs (≥2%) included hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, immune-associated hepatitis and rash. The incidence of injection site reactions was low (3.8%), all of which were grades 1-2. Among the 216 efficacy evaluable patients, the objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR) were 11.6% and 43.1%, respectively. Median duration of response was 49.1 weeks (95% CI: 24.0, 49.3). Pharmacokinetic (PK) exposure to envafolimab is proportional to dose and median time to maximum plasma concentration is 72-120 hours based on the PK results from the dose escalation phase of the study. Conclusion: Subcutaneous envafolimab has a favorable safety and promising preliminary anti-tumor activity in Chinese patients with advanced solid tumors.

Three monoruthenium complexes 1 (PF 6 ) 2 - 3 (PF 6 ) 2 bearing an N(CH 3 )-bridged ligand have been synthesized and characterized. These complexes have a general formula of [Ru(bpy) 2 ( L )](PF 6 ) 2 , where L is a 2,5-di( N -methyl- N '-(pyrid-2-yl)amino)pyrazine (dapz) derivative with various substituents, and bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these compounds have been examined. The solid-state structure of complex 3 (PF 6 ) 2 is studied by single-crystal X-ray analysis. These complexes show two well-separated emission bands centered at 451 and 646 nm (Δ λ max = 195 nm) for 1 (PF 6 ) 2 , 465 and 627 nm (Δ λ max = 162 nm) for 2 (PF 6 ) 2 , and 455 and 608 nm (Δ λ max = 153 nm) for 3 (PF 6 ) 2 in dilute acetonitrile solution, respectively. The emission maxima of the higher-energy emission bands of these complexes are similar, while the lower-energy emission bands are dependent on the electronic nature of substituents. These complexes display two consecutive redox couples owing to the stepwise oxidation of the N(CH 3 )-bridged ligand and ruthenium component. The development of circularly polarized electroluminescence (CPEL) is currently hampered by the high difficulty and cost in the syntheses of suitable chiral materials and the notorious chirality diminishment issue in electrical devices. Herein, diastereomeric Ir III and Ru II complexes with chiral (±)-camphorsulfonate counteranions are readily synthesized and used as the active materials in circularly polarized light-emitting electrochemical cells to generate promising CPELs. The addition of the chiral ionic liquid (±)-1-butyl-3-methylimidazole camphorsulfonate into the active layer significantly improves the device performance and the electroluminescence dissymmetry factors (≈10 -3 ), in stark contrast to the very weak circularly polarized photoluminescence of the spin-coated films of these diastereomeric complexes. Background: To objectively assess the safety, feasibility, advantages, and disadvantages of transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) versus conventional vaginal (CV) surgery for sacrospinous ligament fixation (SSLF)., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients who underwent hysterectomy for SSLF via vNOTES or CV surgery due to apical compartment prolapse between April 2019 and April 2020 at our hospital. The patients were classified into the vNOTES group (n = 31) and CV surgery group (n = 51) based on surgical approach and their general characteristics and perioperative outcomes compared., Results: The two groups had similar general characteristics. The anatomical success and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy rates were higher in the vNOTES than CV surgery group, while the postoperative stay was shorter in the vNOTES than CV surgery group. All differences were statistically significant. However, there were no statistically significant intergroup differences in operation time, bilateral salpingectomy rate, colporrhaphy rate, postoperative visual analog scale score, estimated blood loss, hemoglobin decrease at 72 h postoperative, maximum body temperature at 72 h postoperative, complication rate, buttock pain, or Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire-7 and Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory Questionnaire-20 scores at 1 year postoperative., Conclusions: VNOTES for SSLF was safe and feasible and resulted in superior objective and subjective outcomes versus CV surgery for SSLF. A Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, microcystin-degrading bacterium, designated as CPCC 100929 T , was isolated from a fresh water reservoir in Sichuan Province, PR China. This isolate grew well at 4-37 °C and pH 6.0-8.0, with optimal growth at 28-32 °C and pH 7.0, respectively. The major cellular fatty acids were C 18:1 ω7 c /C 18:1 ω6 c , C 16:0 , C 18:1 ω7 c 11-methyl and C 19:0 cyclo ω8 c . The predominant respiratory quinone was Q-10. Diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylmethylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine were detected in the polar lipids extraction. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain CPCC 100929 T was closely related to those of members of the genus Shinella , with the highest similarity of 98.6 % to Shinella zoogloeoides DSM 287 T and 97.4-98.4 % with other identified Shinella members. In the phylogenetic trees based on 16S rRNA gene sequences and the core-genes analysis, strain CPCC 100929 T was included within the clade of the genus Shinella . The values of average nucleotide identity (81.4-86.7 %) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (25.4-44.6 %) between strain CPCC 100929 T and other Shinella species were all below the thresholds for bacterial species delineation, respectively. The genomic DNA G+C content of strain CPCC 100929 T was 63.6 %. The genomic sequence analysis indicated that this species contained genes encoding peroxidase, bla carbapenemase and the key enzyme for microcystin bio degradation, as well as rich carbohydrate-active enzyme coding genes, which might endow the micro-organism with properties to adapt to diverse environments. Based on its phenotypic and genetic properties, we propose that strain CPCC 100929 T (=T1A350 T =KCTC 72957 T ) is the type strain of a novel species with the name Shinella lacus sp. nov.

Objective: To review of our hospital's experiences in transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) and challenges we encountered in performance of the procedure, so as to provide help to medical institutions who are preparing to carry out vNOTES., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of all patients receiving vNOTES in our hospital from April 2018 to May 2021. Data we collected cover the general characteristics, perioperative outcomes, and complications of the patients., Results: A total of 1147 patients underwent vNOTES in the past 3 years at our hospital. The total numbers of adnexal surgery, myomectomy, hysterectomy, pelvic floor reconstruction surgery, and malignant tumor surgery performed via vNOTES were 902, 98, 82, 51, and 14, respectively. Eighteen patients were converted to transabdominal laparoscopic surgery. A total of 38 patients had complications according to Clavien-Dindo classification, and the total complication rate was 3.31%. Among these cases of complications, 27 were Grade I, 4 were Grade II, and 7 were Grade III. No complications of Grade IV or V were reported., Conclusion: The application of vNOTES is safe and feasible for most gynecological surgeries. Moreover, hospitals with traditional laparoscopic equipment are advised to try this technique as there is no need to purchase additional expensive equipment. However, since vNOTES represents a novel approach, the long-term complications and efficacy associated with this technique are pending to be verified through large-scale prospective multicenter randomized controlled studies., (© 2022 Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.)

Crystalline materials with appealing luminescent properties are attractive materials for various optoelectronic applications. The in situ bicomponent reaction of 1,2-ethylenedisulfonic acid with 1,4-di(pyrid-2-yl)benzene, 1,4-di(pyrid-3-yl)benzene, or 1,4-di(pyrid-4-yl)benzene affords luminescent crystals with hydrogen-bonded polymeric structures. Variations in the positions of the pyridine nitrogen atoms lead to alternating polymeric structures with either a ladder- or zigzag-type of molecular arrangement. By using a nanoprecipitation method, microcrystals of these polymeric structures are prepared, showing polarized luminescence with a moderate degree of polarization.

Objective: This study optimizes three-dimensional (3D) culture conditions of HepG2 using response surface methodology (RSM) based on the VitroGel system to facilitate the cell model in vitro for liver tissues., Method: HepG2 cell was 3D cultured on the VitroGel system. Cell viability was detected using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay of HepG2 lived cell numbers. The proliferation of HepG2 cell and clustering performance was measured via fluorescence staining test. Albumin concentration in the culture medium supernatant as an index of HepG2 cell biological function was measured with ELISA kit. Independent factor tests were conducted with three key factors: inoculated cell concentration, cultured time, and dilution degree of the hydrogel. The preliminary results of independent factor tests were used to determine the levels of factors for RSM., Result: The selected optimal culture conditions are as follows: concentration of inoculated cells was 4.44 × 10 5 /mL, culture time was 4.86 days, and hydrogel dilution degree was 1:2.23. The result shows that under optimal conditions, the predicted optical density (OD) value of cell viability was 3.10 and measured 2.978 with a relative error of 3.94%., Conclusion: This study serves as a reference for the 3D HepG2 culture and constructs liver tissues in vitro . Nano- and micromaterials with anisotropic photoluminescence and photon transport have widespread application prospects in quantum optics, optoelectronics, and displays. But the nature of the polarization information of the out-coupled light, with respect to that of the source luminescence, has never been explored in active optical-waveguiding organic crystals. Herein, three different modes (selective, anisotropic, and consistent) of polarized-photon out-coupling are proposed and successfully implemented in a set of 2D organic microcrystals with highly linearly-polarized luminescence. It is found that the polarization direction and degree of the luminescence out-coupled through different waveguiding channels can either be essentially retained or distinctly changed with respect to those of the original luminescence, depending on the molecular arrangement and the orientation of transition dipole moments of the crystal. Introduction and Hypothesis: Hysteropreservation and hysterectomy for uterine prolapse have been compared in several randomized controlled trials (RCTs), as the best treatment has not been definitively determined. This study aimed to summarize the available evidence in RCTs of hysteropreservation versus hysterectomy., Methods: We performed electronic searches in the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases for eligible RCTs from inception to June 2020. The relative risks (RRs) and weighted mean differences (WMDs) with corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated for categorical and continuous variables using random-effects models., Results: Twelve RCTs involving 1177 patients were selected for meta-analysis. There were no significant differences between hysteropreservation and hysterectomy for the incidences of recurrence (RR, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.26-1.19; P = 0.130) and reoperation (RR, 1.15; 95% CI, 0.56-2.37; P = 0.705). Moreover, neither hysteropreservation nor hysterectomy had any significant effect on the risk of constipation (RR, 0.72; 95% CI, 0.15-3.46; P = 0.681), voiding dysfunction (RR, 0.99; 95% CI, 0.54-1.84; P = 0.981), intraoperative bleeding (RR, 0.35; 95% CI, 0.05-2.26; P = 0.271), upper leg dullness (RR, 0.70; 95% CI, 0.15-3.17; P = 0.643), dyspareunia (RR, 1.47; 95% CI, 0.69-3.13; P = 0.317), and wound infection (RR, 1.38; 95% CI, 0.24-7.80; P = 0.714). Furthermore, hysteropreservation was associated with less intraoperative blood loss (WMD, -25.68; 95% CI, -44.39 to -6.96; P = 0.007), shorter duration of surgery (WMD, -11.30; 95% CI, -19.04 to -3.55; P = 0.004), and shorter duration of hospitalization (WMD, -0.63; 95% CI, -1.10 to -0.16; P = 0.009) compared with hysterectomy., Conclusion: This study found that both hysteropreservation and hysterectomy have similar effects on recurrence and reoperation rates, while hysteropreservation was superior to hysterectomy in reducing intraoperative blood loss and shortening the duration of surgery and hospitalization., (© 2021. Conventional square-planar platinum complexes typically form one-dimensional assemblies as a result of unidirectional metallophilic and/or π⋅⋅⋅π intermolecular interactions. Organoplatinum(II) complexes with a cruciform shape are presented herein to construct two-dimensional (2D) microcrystals with full-color and white phosphorescence. These 2D crystals show unique monocomponent π⋅⋅⋅π stacking, from either the cyclometalating or noncyclometalating ligand, and the bicomponent alternate π⋅⋅⋅π stacking from both ligands along different facet directions. Anisotropic tri-directional waveguiding is further implemented on a single hexagonal microcrystal. Three tris-heteroleptic mononuclear Ru(II) complexes with dual fluorescence and phosphorescence-[Ru(dpma)(bpy)(phen)] 2+ ( 1 2+ ), [Ru(dpma)(bpy)(dppz)] 2+ ( 2 2+ ), and [Ru(dpma)(phen)(dppz)] 2+ ( 3 2+ )-have been designed and used as ratiometric light-response probes for DNA, where dpma is di(pyrid-2-yl)(methyl)-amine, bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine, phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, and dppz is dipyridophenazine, respectively. Single crystals of complex 2 (PF 6 ) 2 have been obtained and studied by X-ray analysis. The interactions of these complexes with different DNAs are investigated by means of spectroscopic methods, viscosity measurements, and molecular modeling. In the presence of calf thymus DNA, complexes 2 (PF 6 ) 2 and 3 (PF 6 ) 2 show the emergence of a new lower-energy phosphorescence emission band; meanwhile, the higher-energy fluorescence emission band is essentially unchanged, functioning as an intrinsic internal reference. These two complexes exhibit stronger preference for calf thymus DNA over single-strand DNA (d(A) 16 and d(C) 16 ). In contrast, no binding interaction between 1 (PF 6 ) 2 and calf thymus DNA is observed. The intrinsic binding constants ( K b ) of 2 (PF 6 ) 2 and 3 (PF 6 ) 2 with calf thymus DNA are determined to be (1.4 ± 0.4) × 10 5 and (9.5 ± 0.15) × 10 4 M -1 , respectively. In addition, these spectroscopic results are compared with those of the prototype complex [Ru(bpy) 2 (dppz)] 2+ ( 4 2+ ), and density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory calculations are employed to elucidate these experimental findings.

A simple and general method is presented herein for the in situ preparations of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL)-active microcrystals with a large luminescence dissymmetry factor g lum , high fluorescence quantum efficiency (Φ FL ), wide emission color tenability, and well-ordered morphology. The reactions of pyridine-containing achiral molecules 1-7 with chiral camphor sulfonic acid ((±)-CSA) gave crystalline microplates formed by hydrogen bonding interactions between the protonated pyridinium units and the sulfonic anions. The chiral information of CSA are effectively transferred to the microcrystals by hydrogen bonding to afford full-color CPL from deep-blue to red with g lum in the order of 10 -2 and Φ FL up to 80 %. Background: Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting with the Wingspan stent has proven safe and effective in patients with middle cerebral artery stenosis (MCAS), but the off-label use of the Neuroform stent might be an alternative treatment. This study aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of the above two intracranial stents in patients with MCAS. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed consecutive patients with symptomatic MCAS who had been treated with the Neuroform EZ or the Wingspan stent. A propensity score was generated to control for differences in baseline characteristics. The endpoints were the rate of peri-procedural complications within 30 days after stenting, the in-stent restenosis rate, and any target-vessel-related stroke or deaths during follow-up. Results: After matching for propensity score, the peri-procedural complication rate in the Wingspan group was 7.4% compared with 5.6% in the Neuroform group ( p = 1.00), while the follow-up in-stent restenosis rates were 23.3 vs. 14.3%, respectively ( p = 0.41). In the restenosis group, the patients tended to be younger ( p < 0.01) and the degree of artery stenosis before stenting was higher ( p < 0.01). Conclusion: This study indicated that in patients with symptomatic MCAS, Neuroform EZ stents are an alternative to Wingspan. A cationic carbazole-bridged biscyclometalated diplatinum complex 4 has been synthesized and characterized. Single-crystal X-ray analysis demonstrates that complex 4 displays a dimeric structure with noncovalent π-π stacking and unique double Pt-Pt interactions. In aerated dilute CH 3 CN, complex 4 is characterized by a very weak monomeric yellow emission (λ emi = 547 nm; Φ = 0.51%), which is attributed to the triplet intraligand ( 3 LC) excited state mixing with some charge transfer characters. In contrast, under aerated conditions, the dispersion of 4 in a mixed solvent of CH 3 CN/Et 2 O (1/9, v/v) or CH 3 CN/H 2 O (1/9, v/v) displays intense yellow (λ emi = 550 nm; Φ = 35.5%; τ = 11.10 μs) and red emission (λ emi = 635 nm; Φ = 14.1%; τ = 7.00 μs), respectively. These aggregation-induced phosphorescent emission enhancements are considered being caused by the oxygen-shielding effect and the molecular rigidification-induced decrease of nonradiative decays in the aggregate state. The morphology and size of the aggregates under these two conditions are examined by scanning electron microscope and dynamic light scattering analysis. The absorption and emission properties of 4 are further rationalized by time-dependent density functional theory calculations on a model compound.

The Laoguan River is the tributary of Danjiangkou Reservoir located nearest to the water diversion outlet, and water quality here directly affects the safety of the diverted water. To explore the community composition and functional change of bacterioplankton in the Laoguan River before and after the flood season, four representative sites were sampled in the main stream before (May) and after (October) the 2018 and 2019 flood seasons. Water quality was assessed and high-throughput sequencing of bacterioplankton was performed. Yanghe (YH) was slightly disturbed, Xixiabei (XX) was moderately disturbed, Dangziling (DZL) was heavily disturbed, and Zhangying (ZY) was moderately disturbed. In total, 599 genera from 40 phyla were collected. The diversity of bacterioplankton before the flood season was higher than afterwards, and moderate levels of disturbance increased the Shannon-Wiener diversity index. LEfSe analysis indicated that significant differences existed in some dominant phyla; Armatimonadete in Yanghe, Epsilonbacteraeota and Firmicutes in Xixiabei, and Cyanophyta in Dangziling dominated before flood season, while significant differences only occurred in Firmicutes and Cyanophyta in Dangziling after the flood season. The PCoA of the bacterioplankton community showed that the sampling points were distinct before and after the flood season, and that differences among samples were greater before the flood season. The RDA and CCA indicated that total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen were the main environmental factors causing declines in bacterioplankton diversity. PICRUSt showed a total of ten dominant categories of COG function genes. A total of 30 KO function genes related to nitrogen metabolism group also different between the two periods, with greater differences before flood season. The genes cynt and can in Yanghe were significant different from the other three sampling points before the flood season. Overall, nitrogen and phosphorus were the main factors regulating the bacterioplankton community structure and eutrophication in the Laoguan River. Changes in nitrogen inputs will result in changes in microbial nitrogen metabolic function in different regions of the river.

Aim: To objectively assess the safety, feasibility, advantages and disadvantages and health economics benefits of vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) versus transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (TU-LESS) in ovarian cystectomy., Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of all patients in our hospital who had undergone vNOTES and TU-LESS ovarian cystectomy due to 'unilateral ovarian cyst' from March 2019 to May 2020. Patients were classified into vNOTES group (86) and TU-LESS group (210) based on surgical paths. The patients' general characteristics and perioperative outcomes were compared., Results: All 296 patients completed surgery with no need to switch to conventional laparoscopy or laparotomy procedures. There were no complications of Grade III, IV, V in Clavien-Dindo classification. There were two patients in the vNOTES group and four patients in the TU-LESS group with complications of Grade I, all of whom were treated with antipyretic drugs for postoperative fever. One patient in the TU-LESS group presented the complication of Grade II and was treated with blood transfusion due to postoperative anemia. The two groups had similar general characteristics. Perioperative outcomes: The visual analogue scale (VAS) scores 24 h postoperation were significantly lower in the vNOTES group than in the TU-LESS group. The cosmetic scores were significantly higher in the vNOTES group than in the TU-LESS group. Postoperative stay and time of flatus after surgery were significantly shorter in the vNOTES group than in the TU-LESS group. There was not significant statistical differences between the two groups in operation time, estimated blood loss, Hb decrease at 48 h postoperation, maximum body temperature in 48 h after surgery and hospital costs., Conclusion: It was proved to be safe and feasible in ovarian cystectomy by vNOTES. It worked better than TU-LESS in relieving postoperative pain, shortening postoperative stay and improving cosmetic effects and so on. Information encryption and decryption have attracted particular attention; however, the applications are frequently restricted by limited coding capacity due to the indistinguishable broad photoluminescence band of conventional stimuli-responsive fluorescent materials. Here, we present a concept of confidential information encryption with photoresponsive liquid crystal (LC) lasing materials, which were used to fabricate ordered microlaser arrays through a microtemplate-assisted inkjet printing method. LC microlasers exhibit narrow-bandwidth single-mode emissions, and the wavelength of LC microlasers was reversibly modulated based on the optical isomerization of the chiral dopant in LCs. On this basis, we demonstrate phototunable information authentication on LC microlaser arrays using the wavelength of LC microlasers as primary codes. Molecular packing has an important effect on the photophysical properties of crystalline materials. We demonstrate in this work the modulation of molecular packing and emission properties of microcrystals by minor molecular structural variations. Four platinum β-diketonate complexes, with two fluoro substituents ( 1 ) or one fluoro atom substituted on different positions of the auxiliary phenylpyridine ligand ( 2 - 4 ) have been synthesized. These complexes were used to prepare one-dimensional microcrystals with well-defined shapes and uniform sizes. Although 1 - 4 display similar emission spectra in the solution state, the corresponding microcrystals display different emission colors from green to yellow and orange. In addition, different temperature-responsive (80-298 K) emission spectral changes have been observed from these microcrystals, including the intensity variation of the locally excited (LE) emission without obvious wavelength shifts, competition between the LE and metal-metal-to-ligand charge-transfer emissions, and the sole wavelength shift of the π-π excimer emissions. These differences in emission properties are rationalized by different molecular packings of these materials, as revealed by single-crystal X-ray analyses.

A dual-emissive tris-heteroleptic ruthenium complex is designed, synthesized and applied for the ratiometric photoluminescent detection of amyloid-β (Aβ) aggregation in both steady and transient states. The Aβ aggregation is supported by transmission electron microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy analysis. In addition, molecular docking calculations have been performed to gain insights into the interaction mode between the ruthenium complex and Aβ fibrils.

Adequate control over the structures of molecular building blocks plays an important role in the fabrication of desired supramolecular nanostructures at interfaces. In this study, the formation of a pure hydrogen-bonding co-assembly supramolecular nanonetwork on a highly oriented pyrolytic graphite surface was demonstrated by means of a scanning tunneling microscope. The thermal annealing process was conducted to monitor the temperature-triggered structural transformation of the self-assembled nanonetwork. On the basis of the single-molecule-level resolution scanning tunneling microscopy images, together with the density functional theory calculations, the formation mechanisms of the formed nanoarrays were proposed. The results have great significance with regard to controlled construction of complex nanostructures on the surface.

This retrospective study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of the stent implanting for treating severe symptomatic atherosclerotic stenosis of the intracranial vertebrobasilar artery (ICVBA). 213 patients who had undergone intervention for severe symptomatic ICVBA stenosis between September 2012 to May 2018 were enrolled into this study. Among the 213 enrolled patients, 210 patients (98.6%) obtained successfully revascularization and 206 patients (96.7%) had good revascularization after stenting. The extent of stenosis before and after intervention was 86.3 ± 6.8% and 9.1 ± 3.7%, respectively. Within 90 days after stenting, 10 patients (4.7%) experienced primary endpoint events, including 4 cases (4.2%) in the intracranial vertebral artery (V4) group and 6 (5.1%) in basilar artery (BA) group. Among them, 2 (2.1%) and 3 cases (2.5%) of ischemic stroke in V4 and BA group, respectively; and 2 (2.1%) and 2 (1.7%) cases of TIA in V4 and BA group, respectively. One (0.8%) case in the BA group dead because of the acute stent occlusion resulted in the top of the basilar syndrome. Six patients (2.8%) experienced adverse events, including 2 (2.1%) and 4 (3.4%) cases of groin hematoma in the V4 and BA group, respectively. No cases of hemorrhagic stroke, stent dislocation and vessel dissection in both groups. Our study showed that a low complication rate and a high and good revascularization rate would be achieved by the treatment of severe symptomatic atherosclerotic stenosis of the ICVBA using the stents., (Copyright © 2019 The Authors. Objective: To explore the MMP-1/TIMP-1 expressions in rectal submucosa of females with obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS) associated with internal rectal prolapse (IRP)., Methods: Fifty-six female patients with ODS associated with IRP were enrolled as Case group, and 43 female hemorrhoids of stages III-IV without constipation and IRP were enrolled as Control group. Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry were performed to test the expressions of MMP-1/TIMP-1 in the rectal submucosa. Western blotting was used to examine protein expressions of MMP-1/TIMP-1 and pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6 and TNF-α) in the rectal submucosa. EVG staining was conducted to detect collagen and elastic fibers in rectal submucosa., Results: The increased expression of MMP-1 was negatively linked to the decreased TIMP-1 level in the rectal submucosa of patients with ODS associated with IRP. Besides, the expressions of IL-6 and TNF-α were increased in the Case group as compared with the Control group. Additionally, ODS severity and the pro-inflammatory cytokines was positively linked to MMP-1, but negatively related to TIMP-1 in Case group. EVG staining showed that the area ratios of collagen and elastic fibers were lower in Case group than Control group. Through Pearson's correlation analysis, the area ratios of collagen and elastic fibers were positively associated with MMP-1 expression, but negatively correlated with TIMP-1 expression in rectal submucosa of patients with ODS associated with IRP., Conclusion: Elevated MMP-1 and reduced TIMP-1 were found in ODS associated with IRP, which was related to the ODS severity, inflammation and contents of collagen and elastic fibers.

Purpose: To study the association of the enhancement ratio (ER) of aneurysmal wall enhancement (AWE) with symptomatic intracranial aneurysms (IAs), we hypothesized that the ER of AWE would be stronger in symptomatic IAs than in asymptomatic IAs, as assessed by high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HRMRI)., Materials and Methods: Between February 2016 and February 2018, 80 consecutive patients with 89 unruptured IAs were reviewed. Patients and IAs were divided into symptomatic and asymptomatic groups. In addition to the clinical characteristics, the IA features (e.g., size, shape) were evaluated via computed tomography angiography, while the ER and enhanced patterns were evaluated by HRMRI. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the independent risk factors for symptomatic IAs. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used for the final model to obtain the optimal thresholds., Results: Multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that only the ER was associated with symptomatic IAs. The threshold value of the ER was 60.5%., Conclusions: A higher ER was more frequently identified in symptomatic IAs. Objective: To investigate the impact of SERPINA3 on the migration, invasion, and liver metastasis of colon cancer cells., Methods: Immunohistochemical staining was conducted to determine SERPINA3 expression in the cancer and adjacent normal tissues of 131 patients suffering from colon cancer. In vitro experiment, colon cancer cells with low (HT-29P), intermediate (KM-12C), and high (HT-29LMM, KM-12L4) metastatic potential were obtained to examine SERPINA3 expression levels. Besides, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western Blot were performed to detect SERPINA3 expression in HT-29LMM and KM-12L4 cells transfected with SERPINA3 siRNA; Wound-healing and Transwell assays to measure cell migration and invasion, respectively; and ELISA to detect MMP-2 and MMP-9 levels. In vivo experiment, mice with liver metastasis of colon cancer were established to observe the effect of SERPINA3 silencing on liver metastasis. Immunohistochemical assay was applied to evaluate the expressions of Serpina3, Mmp-2, Mmp-9, and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (Pcna) in liver metastasis tissues., Results: SERPINA3 in colon cancer tissues was higher than in adjacent normal tissues, which was associated with patients' clinicopathological features. Besides, SERPINA3 expression showed a rising trend in low, intermediate, and high metastatic potential colon cancer cells. After KM-12L4 and HT-29LMM cells transfected with SERPINA3 siRNA, the migration and invasive ability of cells, as well as the expression levels of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were all decreased. Moreover, SERPINA3 siRNA could not only reduce live metastasis of mice, but also down-regulate the expression of Mmp-2 and Mmp-9 in liver metastasis tissues., Conclusion: SERPINA3 silencing could inhibit the migration, invasion, and liver metastasis of colon cancer cells.

Objective: miR-22 is known to be involved in the pathogenesis of several autoimmune diseases, but it remains unclear whether miR-22 is associated with inflammatory intestinal disease (IBD)., Methods: The patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD) were enrolled in this study. After the CD4+ T cells from healthy controls and active IBD patients were isolated and then transfected with miR-22 mimics/inhibitors, Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was conducted to measure expressions of miR-22, HDAC4, specific transcription factors in intestinal mucosa tissue and CD4+ T cells, while enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) to detect expressions of inflammatory cytokines in PB. Antisense miR-22 was administered into mice during trinitrobenzene sulphoni cacid (TNBS)-induced colitis to determine its role in IBD., Results: A significant elevation of miR-22 but an evident decrease of HDAC4 was found in CD4+ T cells in PB and intestinal mucosa tissues from IBD patients. In addition, there was a great reduction in HDAC4 and a dramatic enhancement in Th17 cell specific transcription factor (RORC) and inflammatory cytokines (IL-17A, IL-6 and TNF-α) after overexpression miR-22, which was opposite to the effect of inhibition of miR-22. Furthermore, administration of antisense miR-22 in TNBS-induced mouse colitis model significantly decreased numbers of interleukin (IL)-17A+ CD4+ T cells and the expressions of IL-17A, RORC, IL-6 and TNF-α., Conclusion: MiR-22 was up-regulated in CD4+ T cells in PB and intestinal mucosa tissues of IBD patients, which could promote Th17 cell differentiation via targeting HDAC4 to be involved in IBD progression., (Copyright © 2018. The synthesis, characterization, and temperature-responsive properties of two fluorescent organoplatinum(II) metallacycles are reported. Metallacycles M1 and M2 were prepared via the coordination-driven self-assembly of a 120° triarylamine ligand L1 and a 120° diplatinum(II) acceptor Pt-1 or 180° diplatinum(II) acceptor Pt-2, respectively. M1 and M2 are hexagonal metallacycles, comprising of three or six freely rotating anthracene pendants on their periphery, respectively. In response to the temperature variation between -20 and 60 °C, the ligand displays irregular emission changes, whereas both metallacycles show reversible absorption and emission spectral changes in THF. The changes in their green emission intensity also exhibit a linear correlation with the temperature variation, with an average sensitivity of -0.67% and -0.77% per °C for M1 and M2, respectively. Furthermore, in coordinating solvents, such as DMF and CH 3 CN, M1 and M2 show different behaviors: in the lower temperature range, i.e., below 30 °C, their spectral changes are similar to those observed in THF; however, at a higher temperature the metallacycles were presumably destroyed by the solvents and displayed ratiometric fluorescent responses, including a cyan emission of the ligand L1.

Objectives: To evaluate the risk factors for rupture of intracranial aneurysms (IAs) using high resolution MRI (HRMRI)., Methods: 91 consecutive patients with 106 IAs were reviewed from February 2016 to April 2017. Patients and IAs were divided into ruptured and unruptured groups. In addition to the clinical characteristics of the patients, the features of IAs (eg, shape) were evaluated by CT angiography, whereas wall thickness, enhanced patterns, and enhancement ratio (ER) were evaluated by MRI. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to identify independent risk factors associated with the rupture of IAs. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was performed on the final model, and the optimal thresholds were obtained., Results: ER (OR 6.638) and partial wall enhancement (PWE) (OR 6.710) were not markers of aneurysms more prone to rupture, but simply were more commonly found in the ruptured aneurysm cohort. Four bridged cyclometalated diruthenium systems are highlighted in this Frontier article, including strongly-coupled diruthenium complexes with a short phen-1,4-diyl or a planar pyren-2,7-diyl bridge, redox asymmetric diruthenium complexes characterized by different terminal ligands on the two ends, diruthenium complexes with a urea bridge that allows modulating the degree of electronic coupling, and those with a redox-active amine bridge with varying electronic structures. These complexes posess redox couples with low potentials and intense intervalence charge transfer absorptions in the near-infrared region in the one-electron-oxidized mixed-valent state. They are appealing not only for providing a platform for fundamental electron transfer studies but also as molecular materials with multi-stage redox switching properties.

A polypyridyl monoruthenium complex with a dangling coordination site shows dual fluorescence/phosphorescence emissions at room temperature. The emission properties can be modulated by multiple stimuli including solvents, O 2 , and metal ions.

Cerebral hemorrhage is a serious complication of intracranial artery stenting that could be fatal without timely identification and treatment. Prompt brain CT scan would help to evaluate whether cerebral hemorrhage occurs, however, the diverse features of the CT scan immediately after stenting could influence the judgement sometimes. Therefore, we analyzed and summarized these features to help to determine the clinical significance of these CT features. The prompt CT features after stenting were classified into three types. Type I indicates that no high-density shadows. Type II indicates that high-density shadows scattered in the infarct areas and/or subarachnoid spaces without mass effect. Type III indicates high-density shadows scattered in and/or out of the infarct areas and/or subarachnoid space with obvious mass effects. Based on this classification, the patients in both Type I and II would continue the double anti-platelet treatment (DAPT) and anti-coagulation treatment, while the later need closer monitoring. However, patients in Type III must immediately withdraw the DAPT and anti-coagulation treatment with close monitoring and surgical intervention was needed when necessary. Nineteen (3.79%) patients were classified into Type III, and 5 (1.00%) of the 19 were accepted surgical intervention. Two of these patients died (0.40%). The prompt CT scan timely distinguishing the cerebral hemorrhage was necessary after intracranial artery stent angioplasty. Additionally, based on the different prompt CT features to take different therapeutic strategies after stenting would achieve better outcomes for ischemic stroke or transient ischemic stroke (TIA) patients underwent intracranial artery endovascular therapy.

The ITO/active material/Au sandwiched devices of a cobalt(ii) bis-terpyridine complex decorated with two triphenylamine motifs display appealing flash-type resistive switching with a large ON/OFF ratio (>10 3 ) and low operating voltages (<±3 V). In contrast, devices with the triphenylamine-appended terpyridine ligand show WORM-type memory behaviour.

BACKGROUND This study aimed to conduct a clinical evaluation of four restorative materials for restoration of dental wedge-shaped defect (WSD) and their impacts on periodontal tissues. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 280 maxillary premolars with dental WSD were selected from 106 patients; the patient cases were divided into eight groups according to different combinations of restorative materials (flowable resin composites, Dyract compomers, glass ionomer cement (GIC), light-curing composite resin), and WSD positions (approaching gingival and subgingival positions). Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) volume, levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in GCF were analyzed, while probing depth (PD), plaque index (PLI), and sulcus bleeding index (SBI) were also measured. The periodontal conditions of all patients were followed prior to restoration, as well as six months and 12 months after restoration. RESULTS After six months of restoration, the overall clinical success rates of flowable resin composites, Dyract compomers, and light-curing composite resin were greater than those of GIC. GCF volume, GCF-AST, IL-1β levels, PD, PLI, and SBI of cases restored by GIC were higher than those restored by the other three materials. After 12 months of restoration, the overall clinical success rates of flowable resin composites and Dyract compomers were greater than those of light-curing composite resin and GIC. GCF volume, GCF-AST, GCF-ALP, IL-1β levels, PD, PLI, and SBI of cases restored by GIC were higher than those restored by the other three materials. CONCLUSIONS Our study provided evidence that the clinical efficacy of flowable resin composites, Dyract compomers, and light-curing composite resin was greater than that of GIC for restoration of dental WSD.
