Background: Current diagnostic algorithms for systemic mastocytosis (SM) rely on the detection of KITD816V in blood to trigger subsequent bone marrow (BM) investigations. Methods: Here, we correlated the KITD816V mutational status of paired blood and BM samples from 368 adults diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) and mastocytosis and determined the potential utility of investigating KITD816V in genomic DNA from blood‐purified myeloid cell populations to increase diagnostic sensitivity. In a subset of 69 patients, we further evaluated the kinetics of the KITD816V cell burden during follow‐up and its association with disease outcome. Results: Our results showed a high correlation (P <.0001) between the KITD816V mutation burden in blood and BM (74% concordant samples), but with a lower mean of KITD816V‐mutated cells in blood (P =.0004) and a high rate of discordant BM+/blood− samples particularly among clonal MCAS (73%) and BM mastocytosis (51%), but also in cutaneous mastocytosis (9%), indolent SM (15%), and well‐differentiated variants of indolent SM (7%). Purification of different compartments of blood‐derived myeloid cells was done in 28 patients who were BM mast cell (MC)+/blood− for KITD816V, revealing KITD816V‐mutated eosinophils (56%), basophils (25%), neutrophils (29%), and/or monocytes (31%) in most (61%) patients. Prognostically, the presence of ≥3.5% KITD816V‐mutated cells (P <.0001) and an unstable KITD816V mutation cell burden (P <.0001) in blood and/or BM were both associated with a significantly shortened progression‐free survival (PFS). Conclusions: These results confirm the high specificity but limited sensitivity of KITD816V analysis in whole blood for the diagnostic screening of SM and other primary MCAS, which might be overcome by assessing the mutation in blood‐purified myeloid cell populations. At the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton ($p\bar{p}$) collider, high-mass electron-neutrino ($e\nu$) pairs are produced predominantly in the process $p \bar{p} \rightarrow W(\rightarrow e\nu) + X$. The asymmetry of the electron and positron yield as a function of their pseudorapidity constrain the slope of the ratio of the $u$- to $d$-quark parton distributions versus the fraction of the proton momentum carried by the quarks. This paper reports on the measurement of the electron-charge asymmetry using the full data set recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab in 2001--2011 and corresponding to 9.1~fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. The measurement significantly improves the precision of the Tevatron constraints on the parton-distribution functions of the proton. Physical review letters 115(15), 152003(2015). doi:10.1103/PhysRevLett.115.152003, We present the final combination of CDF and D0 measurements of cross sections for single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb$^{−1}$ per experiment. The t-channel cross section is measured to be σ$_t$=2.25$_{-0.31}^{+0.29}$ pb. We also present the combinations of the two-dimensional measurements of the s- vs t-channel cross section. In addition, we give the combination of the s+t channel cross section measurement resulting in σ$_{s+t}$=3.30$_{-0.40}^{+0.52}$ pb, without assuming the standard model value for the ratio σ$_s$/σ$_t$. The resulting value of the magnitude of the top-to-bottom quark coupling is |V$_{tb}$|=1.02$_{-0.05}^{+0.06}$, corresponding to |V$_{tb}$|>0.92 at the 95% C.L., Published by APS, College Park, Md.

El nuevo entorno marcado por la crisis económica hace imprescindible conocer la eficiencia de las acciones online llevadas a cabo por la empresa. Este trabajo propone una serie de indicadores para evaluar los sitios web de las compañías de todo el mundo. Para ello se ha diseñado la investigación del problema a tratar, basada en la evaluación manual y automática de una serie de variables objetivas, con la posterior aplicación de un análisis factorial para la elaboración de indicadores. El índice cuantitativo de calidad web (ICCW) es una herramienta versátil que nos permite comparar cualquier tipo de organización y detectar los puntos fuertes y débiles del sitio web de la compañía.

There are two different types of fundamental constituents of Nature, in the framework of the Standard Model: bosons and fermions. Bosons are those particles responsible for carrying the interactions among the fermions, which constitute matter. Fermions are divide into six quarks and six leptons, forming a three-folded structure. All these fermions and bosons have an antimatter partner. However, several difficulties point along with the idea that the Standard Model is only an effective low energy theory. These limitations include the difficulty to incorporate gravity and the lack of justification to fine tuning of some perturbative corrections. Moreover, some regions of the theory are not understood, like the mass spectrum of the Standard Model or the mechanism for electroweak symmetry breaking. The analyses presented in this thesis focus on the search for third generation squarks in the missing transverse energy plus jets final state. The production of sbottom (~b) and stop (~t) quarks could be highly enhanced at the Tevatron, giving the possibility of discovering new physics or limiting the parameter space available in the theory. No signal is found over the predicted Standard Model background in both searches. Instead, 95% confidence level limits are set on the production cross section, and then translated into the mass plane of the hypothetical particles.

En particular, la búsqueda de quarks supersimetricos de la tercera familia (stop y sbottom) en la muestra de datos que contiene jets y descompensación de momento transverso. Para ello, ha sido necesario entender con gran precisión los objetos físicos necesarios para el análisis, el desarrollo de técnicas para la descripción de los procesos conocidos del ME y el uso y desarrollo de técnicas avanzadas para optimizar la selección. El primero de los análisis de datos presentado en este trabajo es la búsqueda de sbottom quarks a través de la desintegración de gluinos. A su vez, cada sbottom se desintegra en bottom quark y neutralino. Como resultando un estado final con cuatro b-jets y MET procedente de los neutralinos, que escapan a la detección. El segundo análisis llevado a cabo como parte de la presete tesis, es la búsqueda destop quark desintegrandose en charm quark y neutralino. El estado final esta compuesto por dos charm jets y MET procedente de los neutralinos. En resumen, se han realizado dos búsquedas de squarks de la tercera familia sin encontrar en ninguna de ellas desviaciones de la predicción del ME. El trabajo presentado en esta tesis, esta realizado con dos intenciones: explorar la frontera de energía del Tevatron en busca de nueva física y mejorar las técnicas de análisis. Ambos objetivos han sido conseguidos en el presente trabajo, logrando los mejores límites del mundo en las búsquedas descritas y desarrollando e implementando nuevas técnicas de análisis.

Physical review / D 97(11), 112007 (2018). doi:10.1103/PhysRevD.97.112007, Drell-Yan lepton pairs produced in the process $p\bar{p} → ℓ^+ ℓ^−$ + X through an intermediate γ∗/Z boson have an asymmetry in their angular distribution related to the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the electroweak force and the associated mixing of its neutral gauge bosons. The CDF and D0 experiments have measured the effective-leptonic electroweak mixing parameter $sin^2 θ^{lept}_{eff}$ using electron and muon pairs selected from the full Tevatron proton-antiproton data sets collected in 2001-2011, corresponding to 9–10 fb$ ^{−1}$ of integrated luminosity. The combination of these measurements yields the most precise result from hadron colliders, $sin^2 θ^{lept}_{eff}$ = 0.23148±0.00033. This result is consistent with, and approaches in precision, the best measurements from electron-positron colliders. The standard model inference of the on-shell electroweak mixing parameter $sin^2 θ_W$, or equivalently the W-boson mass M$_W$, using the zfitter software package yields $sin^2 θ_W$ = 0.22324±0.00033 or equivalently, M$_W$=80.367±0.017 GeV/c$^2$., Published by APS, Woodbury, NY

Physical review letters 120(4), 042001 (2018). doi:10.1103/PhysRevLett.120.042001, The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt s =1.96$ TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is $A_{\mathrm{FB}}^{t\bar{t}} = 0.128 \pm 0.025$. 34. Effects of GA3 pregerminative treatment on Gentiana lutea L. var. aurantiaca germination and seedlings morphology.

- Abstract
Gentiana lutea L. is widely used in bitter beverages and in medicine; Gentianae Radix is the pharmaceutical name of the root of G. lutea. These uses have generated a high demand. The wild populations of Gentiana lutea var. aurantiaca (M. Laínz) M. Laínz have been decimated; it is necessary to establish guidelines for its cultivation. Gentian as most alpine species has dormant seeds. Dormancy can be removed by cold and by means of a gibberellic acid (GA3) treatment. However, cold treatments produce low germination percentages and GA3 treatments may produce off-type seedlings. So, the objective was to determine, for the first time, the presowing treatments that allow high germination rate and good seedling morphology. The best pregerminative doses of GA3 to break seed dormancy were 100, 500, and 1000 ppm, while the best doses to optimize the seedling habit were 50 and 100 ppm. This study provides, for the first time, a 100 ppm GA3 dose that led to a high germination rate and good seedling morphology, as the starting point for gentian regular cultivation.
