Observations of the rotational spectrum of lead monofluoride, PbF, have been extended up to transitions in the \textit{v} = 7 level for $^{208}$PbF in the lowest $X_1\,^2\Pi_{1/2}$ state of the radical and \textit{v} = 5 for the $^{207}$Pb and $^{206}$Pb isotopologues. The data also include a few measurements for $^{204}$PbF in \textit{v} = 0. These new measurements have been combined with existing near-IR measurements of the $X_2 - X_1$ fine-structure transition and a simultaneous multi-isotope fit of the data to an effective isotope-independent ro-vibronic Hamiltonian has been carried out. The resulting parameters fully characterize the vibrational, rotational and hyperfine structure of the combined $X_1 \, / \, X_2$ state of the radical. A pair of opposite parity levels with total angular momentum quantum number, $F=1/2$, in the lowest rotational level, $J=1/2$ of \PbF \,are close in energy and their spacing decreases with vibrational excitation. The experimental results show the spacing decreases to less than 20 MHz at $v=7$ and 8. The experimental work is complemented by new \textit{ab initio} calculations which support the results and allow predictions outside the experimental data range. The calculated radiative lifetimes of the relevant vibrationally excited states are of the order of 50 ms. Very accurate transition frequencies of HC$_5$N were determined between 5.3 and 21.4 GHz with a Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. The molecules were generated by passing a mixture of HC$_3$N and C$_2$H$_2$ highly diluted in neon through a discharge valve followed by supersonic expansion into the Fabry-Perot cavity of the spectrometer. The accuracies of the data permitted us to improve the experimental $^{14}$N nuclear quadrupole coupling parameter considerably and the first experimental determination of the $^{14}$N nuclear spin-rotation parameter. The transition frequencies are also well suited to determine in astronomical observations the local speed of rest velocities in molecular clouds with high fidelity. The same setup was used to study HC$_7$N, albeit with modest improvement of the experimental $^{14}$N nuclear quadrupole coupling parameter. Quantum chemical calculations were carried out to determine $^{14}$N nuclear quadrupole and spin-rotation coupling parameters of HC$_5$N, HC$_7$N, and related molecules. Rotational transitions of $iso$-propyl cyanide, (CH$_3$)$_2$CHCN, also known as $iso$-butyronitrile, were recorded using long-path absorption spectroscopy in selected regions between 37 and 600 GHz. Further measurements were carried out between 6 and 20 GHz employing Fourier transform microwave (FTMW) spectroscopy on a pulsed molecular supersonic jet. The observed transitions reach $J$ and $K_a$ quantum numbers of 103 and 59, respectively, and yield accurate rotational constants as well as distortion parameters up to eighth order. The $^{14}$N nuclear hyperfine splitting was resolved in particular by FTMW spectroscopy yielding spin-rotation parameters as well as very accurate quadrupole coupling terms. In addition, Stark effect measurements were carried out in the microwave region to obtain a largely revised $c$-dipole moment component and to improve the $a$-component. We have performed Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy of benzonitrile, without and with applied electric fields. From the field-free hyperfine-resolved microwave transitions we simultaneously derive accurate values for the rotational constants, centrifugal distortion constants, and nitrogen nuclear quadrupole coupling constants of benzonitrile. By measuring the Stark shift of selected hyperfine transitions the electric dipole moment of benzonitrile is determined to $\mu=\mu_a=4.5152 (68)$ D., Comment: 6 pages, 2 tables (elsart)

The rotational constants and the nitrogen nuclear quadrupole coupling constants of cis-3-aminophenol and trans-3-aminophenol are determined using Fourier-transform microwave spectroscopy. We examine several $J=2\leftarrow{}1$ and $1\leftarrow{}0$ hyperfine-resolved rotational transitions for both conformers. The transitions are fit to a rigid rotor Hamiltonian including nuclear quadrupole coupling to account for the nitrogen nucleus. For cis-3-aminophenol we obtain rotational constants of A=3734.930 MHz, B=1823.2095 MHz, and C=1226.493 MHz, for trans-3-aminophenol of A=3730.1676 MHz, B=1828.25774 MHz, and C=1228.1948 MHz. The dipole moments are precisely determined using Stark effect measurements for several hyperfine transitions to $\mu_a=1.7735$ D, $\mu_b=1.5195$ D for cis-3-aminophenol and $\mu_a=0.5563$ D, $\mu_b=0.5376$ D for trans-3-aminophenol. Whereas the rotational constants and quadrupole coupling constants do not allow to determinate the absolute configuration of the two conformers, this assignment is straight-forward based on the dipole moments.
