Abstract

The reliability and precision of dynamic database are vital for the optimal operating and global control of integrated energy systems. One of the effective ways to obtain the accurate states is state estimations. A novel robust dynamic state estimation methodology for integrated natural gas and electric power systems is proposed based on Kalman filter. To take full advantage of measurement redundancies and predictions for enhancing the estimating accuracy, the dynamic state estimation model coupling gas and power systems by gas turbine units is established. The exponential smoothing technique and gas physical model are integrated in Kalman filter. Additionally, the time-varying scalar matrix is proposed to conquer bad data in Kalman filter algorithm. The proposed method is applied to an integrated gas and power systems formed by GasLib-40 and IEEE 39-bus system with five gas turbine units. The simulating results show that the method can obtain the accurate dynamic states under three different measurement error conditions, and the filtering performance are better than separate estimation methods. Abstract

A dynamic state estimation method of integrated natural gas and electric power systems (IGESs) in proposed. Firstly, the coupling model of gas pipeline networks and power systems by gas turbine units (GTUs) is established. Secondly, the Kalman filter based linear DSE model for the IGES is built. The gas density and mass flow rate, as well as the real and imaginary parts of bus voltages are taken as states, which are predicted by the linearized fluid dynamic equations of gases and exponential smoothing techniques. Boundary conditions of pipeline networks are used as supplementary constraints in the system model. At last, the proposed method is applied to an IGES including a 30-node pipeline network and IEEE 39-bus system coupled by two GTUs. Two indexes are used to evaluate the DSE performance under three measurement error conditions, and the results show that the DSE can obtain the accurate dynamic states in different conditions., Comment: Accepted by 2021 IEEE/IAS Industrial and Commercial Power System Asia (I&CPS Asia)

Abstract

The advantages of the all-fiber optical current transformer include but are not limited to being small in size, having no magnetic saturation, exhibiting high measurement accuracy, and boasting strong electromagnetic interference resistance. However, the high cost of the all-fiber optical transformer limits its promotion and application in engineering. This paper proposes a design scheme of an independent double acquisition loop for the all-fiber optical current transformer based on the single optical path. Firstly, based on the closed-loop control mode and open-loop control mode, the two- channel sampling signal demand for relay protection, and the independent dual-acquisition loop design scheme of the all-fiber optical current transformer are proposed. Secondly, the reliability and economic feasibility of the scheme are demonstrated by an analysis of system failure and cost. The results show that the scheme can actualize the acquisition function of two independent all-fiber optical current transformer products on a single all-fiber current transformer in an integrated manner, which greatly reduces the cost of the all-fiber optical current transformer in engineering applications. Abstract

Future electrical power systems shall be capable of integrating a large number of distributed energy resources (DERs) and construction and operation of HVDC power transmission project. These changes are transforming the system dynamic characteristics, resulting in new stability and reliability issues of power systems. One of the major issues is the sub-synchronous oscillation (SSO) caused by inter-harmonics associated with inverter-based renewable power generators (IRPG). Meanwhile, it presents the requirements for measuring harmonics and inter-harmonics to ensure power quality in the distribution network. These changes have made the new demand for the construction of the advanced monitoring system. In this article, an advance communication method is introduced for transmission of synchrophasor data.

Abstract

With the construction of new generation smart substation, traditional main electric connection of substation also need to be impoved, evaluation work should change accordingly. To evaluate the main electric connection of new generation smart substation, a method based on a Grey Correlation and Topsis is proposed. By overcoming shortcomings that traditional Topsis method cannot reflect the situational changes of data sequence, This method systematically combine the Topsis and grey correlation constructing a new kind of relative degree index as a standard of evaluating. The reliability and the advancement of the method is verified in the relevant case.

Abstract

Currently, a major challenge of investigating nanostructured materials lies in demonstrating exotic properties and outstanding performance through control of the structure and morphology. In particular, the density of states of each sub‐band diverges when solid semiconductors transit into 1D materials, which results in a special distribution know as a van Hove singularity (VH). However, there are no reports on the existence of VHs in 1D materials other than carbon nanotubes. Quasi‐1D MoO2 nanotubes with large aspect ratio are synthesized using a simple hydrothermal method. The VHs in the density of states are demonstrated by characterizing the multiple peaks in absorbance and fluorescence spectra, which is the first time that the existence of VHs in oxide nanotubes has been experimentally demonstrated. Detailed analysis indicates that the bandgap energies in the VH structure are strongly correlated with the nanotube diameter. It is believed that this work will be significant for further understanding of electronic structures in 1D materials, which will also promote their potential applications in related fields, particularly optoelectronics.
