To understand the prevalence of avian methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and the current status of drug resistance in Qingdao, a comprehensive molecular epidemiological investigation and analysis of evolutionary relationships of MRSA isolates from broiler and layer chickens and waterfowl was conducted.

Large deformation and fracture processes of materials are often involved in the finite element simulation of high-speed collision. Based on the Johnson-Cook fracture failure model, TC4 titanium alloy samples with different notch sizes were designed, and the fracture strain and stress triaxiality of the samples were studied by combining test and finite element simulation. Speckle was produced during the experiment. The fracture strain of the sample under quasi-static tensile condition was obtained by using two-dimensional digital image correlation（DIC） technique at room temperature. The software Abaqus was used to simulate the quasi-static tensile process and obtain the average stress triaxiality of each sample. The parameters of Johnson-Cook fracture failure model were obtained by fitting the fracture strain with average stress triaxiality. The parameters of the fracture failure model were brought into the Pamcrash software for simulation, the fracture morphology and load-displacement curves of the test and Pamcrash simulation showed good consistency, which verified the correctness of the parameters of the failure model.

This research comprehensively explores the synthesis of Co–Ni–TiO2 coatings employing a hybrid methodology that integrates sol-enhanced and pulse current electrodeposition techniques. The investigation examined the surface morphology and intrinsic properties of Co–Ni–TiO2 coatings, revealing the significant influence of pulse duty cycle variations on the characteristics of coatings. A detailed analysis indicates that a pulse duty cycle of 0.4 optimized the coating’s performance, offering superior attributes compared to other duty cycle settings. The study elucidates that lower duty cycles foster hydrogen evolution reactions on the cathode surface, culminating in the formation of a porous, needle-like coating structure. Conversely, higher duty cycles are found to mitigate the effects of material replenishment, thereby affecting the coating’s quality and performance. The findings of this investigation not only shed light on the critical relationship between the pulse duty cycle and the properties of Co–Ni–TiO2 coatings but also lay a foundational framework for the further refinement and optimization of these coatings for advanced applications.

Background/aims: Most studies have found that right-sided colon cancer (RCC) has worse prognosis than left-sided colon cancer (LCC), especially in stage III, but the reported prognosis of stage II colon cancer is variable. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of tumor location on survival outcomes in stage II colon cancer., Materials and Methods: Patients with stage II colon cancer were identified in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database from 2004 to 2009. The effect of tumor location on overall survival and cancer-specific survival was analyzed using Cox proportional hazards regression models and propensity score matching., Results: Of 16,519 patients, 69.6% had RCC and30.4% had LCC. In unadjusted analyses, RCC had a 13% increased overall mortality risk (hazards ratio [HR], 1.13; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.07-1.19; p<0.001) but an18% reduction in cancer-specific mortality risk compared with LCC (HR, 0.82; 95% CI, 0.76-0.89; p<0.001). After propensity scores matching analyses, RCC had a 21% reduced overall mortality risk (HR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.72-0.87; p<0.001) and a 49% reduction in cancer-specific mortality risk compared with LCC (HR, 0.51; 95% CI, 0.44-0.60; p<0.001)., Conclusion: When adjusted for multiple clinicopathological features, stage II RCC showed better prognosis than stage II LCC.
