The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary Silphium perfoliatum L. on growth performance, immunity, intestinal health, and resistance against Nocardia seriolae of largemouth bass. Four dietary concentrations of S. perfoliatum L. were prepared: 0% (SPL0), 1% (SPL1), 2.5% (SPL2.5), and 5% (SPL5). After 60 d feeding, a challenge test was conducted by injecting N. seriolae intraperitoneally. The results showed that supplementing the diets with S. perfoliatum L. could promote the weight gain rate, specific growth rate, and feed intake. Meantime, S. perfoliatum L. could also enhance the activity of immune-related enzymes and improve the expression of immune-related genes in the liver. Compared to the control group, S. perfoliatum L. improved intestinal morphology and reduced the abundance of harmful bacteria in intestinal microbiota. Importantly, supplementing the diets with S. perfoliatum L. protected largemouth bass from N. seriolae infection, resulting in a relative percent survival (RPS) of 24% (SPL1), 31.99% (SPL2.5), and 43.99% (SPL5). In conclusion, the present study showed that S. perfoliatum L. could boost growth performance, enhance immunity, promote intestinal health, and improve the ability of largemouth bass against N. seriolae infection.

Lysine-specific demethylase 4 A (KDM4A, also named JMJD2A, KIA0677, or JHDM3A) is a demethylase that can remove methyl groups from histones H3K9me2/3, H3K36me2/3, and H1.4K26me2/me3. Accumulating evidence suggests that KDM4A is not only involved in body homeostasis (such as cell proliferation, migration and differentiation, and tissue development) but also associated with multiple human diseases, especially cancers. Recently, an increasing number of studies have shown that pharmacological inhibition of KDM4A significantly attenuates tumor progression in vitro and in vivo in a range of solid tumors and acute myeloid leukemia. Although there are several reviews on the roles of the KDM4 subfamily in cancer development and therapy, all of them only briefly introduce the roles of KDM4A in cancer without systematically summarizing the specific mechanisms of KDM4A in various physiological and pathological processes, especially in tumorigenesis, which greatly limits advances in the understanding of the roles of KDM4A in a variety of cancers, discovering targeted selective KDM4A inhibitors, and exploring the adaptive profiles of KDM4A antagonists. Herein, we present the structure and functions of KDM4A, simply outline the functions of KDM4A in homeostasis and non-cancer diseases, summarize the role of KDM4A and its distinct target genes in the development of a variety of cancers, systematically classify KDM4A inhibitors, summarize the difficulties encountered in the research of KDM4A and the discovery of related drugs, and provide the corresponding solutions, which would contribute to understanding the recent research trends on KDM4A and advancing the progression of KDM4A as a drug target in cancer therapy.

Abstract Nickel oxide (NiOx)‐based inverted perovskite solar cells stand as promising candidates for advancing perovskite photovoltaics towards commercialization, leveraging their remarkable stability, scalability, and cost‐effectiveness. However, the interfacial redox reaction between high‐valence Ni4+ and perovskite, alongside the facile conversion of iodide in perovskite into I2, significantly deteriorates the performance and reproducibility of NiOx‐based perovskite photovoltaics. Here, potassium borohydride (KBH4) is introduced as a dual‐action reductant, which effectively avoids the Ni4+/perovskite interface reaction and mitigates the iodide‐to‐I2 oxidation within perovskite film. This synergistic redox modulation significantly suppresses nonradiative recombination and increases the carrier lifetime. As a result, an impressive power conversion efficiency of 24.17% for NiOx‐based perovskite solar cells is achieved, and a record efficiency of 20.2% for NiOx‐based perovskite solar modules fabricated under ambient conditions. Notably, when evaluated using the ISOS‐L‐2 standard protocol, the module retains 94% of its initial efficiency after 2000 h of continuous illumination under maximum power point at 65 °C in ambient air.

Glugea plecoglossi is an obligate intracellular microsporidium, which poses a significant threat to ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis). In vitro cultivation models are invaluable tools for investigating intracellular microorganisms, including G. plecoglossil. In this study, we attempted to in vitro cultivate G. plecoglossi using primary cultures derived from ayu monocytes/macrophages (MO/MΦ), a murine-derived macrophage cell line RAW264.7, and the epithelioma papulosum cyprini (EPC) cell line. The results demonstrated that MO/MΦ infected with spores exhibited a pronounced immune response which was presented by rapidly high expression levels of inflammatory cytokines, such as PaIL-1β, PaTNF-α, PaIL-10, and PaTGF-β, and detached within 96 h post-infection (hpi). Infected RAW264.7 cells remained capable of stable passage yet exhibited cellular deformation with a decrease in intracellular spores occurring around 8 days post-infection (dpi). In contrast, EPC cells promised a substantial parasite population, and the cytokine expression levels returned to normal by 8 dpi. In addition, G. plecoglossi spores recovered from EPC cells could infect young ayu, suggesting that EPC cells might be used as an in vitro cultivation system for G. plecoglossi.

Cyprinid herpesvirus 2 (CyHV-2) is the etiological agent of herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis (HVHN) disease, which causes serious economic losses in the crucian carp culture industry. In this study, by displaying ORF132 on the surface of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells (named EBY100/pYD1-ORF132), we evaluated the protective efficacy of oral administration against CyHV-2 infection. Intense innate and adaptive immune responses were evoked in both mucosal and systemic tissues after oral vaccination with EBY100/pYD1-ORF132. Importantly, oral vaccination provided significant protection for crucian carp post CyHV-2 infection, resulting in a relative percent survival (RPS) of 64%. In addition, oral administration suppressed the virus load and relieved histological damage in selected tissues. Our results indicated that surface-displayed ORF132 on S. cerevisiae could be used as potential oral vaccine against CyHV-2 infection.

Magnetic levitation planar motor has the characteristics of no friction loss, fast dynamic response, and real-time change of transportation track according to the demand. Therefore, a kind of magnetic levitation planar motor based on logistics transportation system is designed, which can meet the transportation needs of the logistics system through any combination of unit modules. Firstly, based on the mechanical model of magnetic levitation float in Halbach permanent magnet array magnetic field, establishing the thrust and torque model of maglev float. Secondly, according to the force/current relationship, considering the influence of uncertain parameters and load disturbance on the system, the decoupling control model of six degree of freedom motion system of magnetic levitation planar motor is established. Thirdly the adaptive contraction backstepping (ACB) controller is derived that can eliminate the uncertain disturbance of the nonlinear model and realize the real-time control of the system. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the method has expected response speed, strong robustness, and good dynamic tracking performance. Applying it to the logistics transportation system described in this article and has a good control effect.

This work reports on a compositionally graded heterojunction for photovoltaic application by cooperating fluorine-doped carbon quantum dots (FCQDs in short) into the CsPbI2.5Br0.5 inorganic perovskite layer. Using this CsPbI2.5Br0.5/FCQDs graded heterojunction in conjunction with low-temperature-processed carbon electrode, a power conversion efficiency of 13.53% for 1 cm2 all-inorganic perovskite solar cell can be achieved at AM 1.5G solar irradiation. To the best of our knowledge, this is one of the highest efficiency reported for carbon electrode based all-inorganic perovskite solar cells so far, and the first report of 1 cm2 carbon counter electrode based inorganic perovskite solar cell with PCE exceeding 13%. Moreover, the inorganic perovskite/carbon quantum dot graded heterojunction photovoltaics maintained over 90% of their initial efficiency after thermal aging at 85° for 1056 hours. This conception of constructing inorganic perovskite/FCQDs graded heterojunction offers a feasible pathway to develop efficient and stable photovoltaics for scale-up and practical applications.

Abstract A novel luminescent turn-on detection method for Hg(II) was developed. The method was based on the silver nanoparticle (AgNP)-mediated quenching of Ir(III) complex 1. The addition of Hg(II) ions causes the luminescence of complex 1 to be recovered due to the oxidation of AgNPs by Hg(II) ions to form Ag(I) and Ag/Hg amalgam. The luminescence intensity of 1 increased in accord with an increased Hg(II) concentration ranging from 0 nM to 180 nM, with the detection limit of 5 nM. This approach offers an innovative method for the quantification of Hg(II).

Micropterus salmoides rhabdovirus (MSRV) is an important pathogen of largemouth bass. Despite extensive research, the functional receptors of MSRV remained unknown. This study identified the host protein, laminin receptor (LamR), as a cellular receptor facilitating MSRV entry into host cells. Our results demonstrated that LamR directly interacts with MSRV G protein, playing a pivotal role in the attachment and internalization processes of MSRV. Knockdown of LamR with siRNA, blocking cells with LamR antibody, or incubating MSRV virions with soluble LamR protein significantly reduced MSRV entry. Notably, we found that LamR mediated MSRV entry via clathrinmediated endocytosis. Additionally, our findings revealed that MSRV G and LamR were internalized into cells and co-localized in the early and late endosomes. These findings highlight the significance of LamR as a cellular receptor facilitating MSRV binding and entry into target cells through interaction with the MSRV G protein. IMPORTANCE Despite the serious epidemic caused by Micropterus salmoides rhabdovirus (MSRV) in largemouth bass, the precise mechanism by which it invades host cells remains unclear. Here, we determined that laminin receptor (LamR) is a novel target of MSRV, that interacts with its G protein and is involved in viral attachment and internalization, transporting with MSRV together in early and late endosomes. Abstract: Solution precursor plasma spraying (SPPS) was employed to prepare porous La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) cathode for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). The surface morphology and microstructure of the LSM deposits were characterized by SEM. The phase structure of LSM was analyzed by XRD. The electrochemical behavior was investigated through the impedance spectroscopy. The effect of spray distance and annealing treatment on SPPS LSM microstructure was examined. Annealing at 1050 °C for 2 h in air, the coherent porous films of the perovskite phase with a fine microstructure were presented. The results show that the microstructure of SPPS LSM cathode exhibits a significant influence on the cathode polarization. The lowest specific surface resistance of 0.3Ω·cm2 is obtained at 1000 °C for SPPS LSM cathode deposited at a spray distance of 60 mm. SPPS is a promising process to fabricate SOFC cathode with tailoring of the desired phase and microstructure. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The growing interest in cost-effective and high-performing perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has driven extensive research. However, the challenge lies in upscaling PSCs while maintaining high performance. This study focuses on achieving uniform and compact perovskite films without pinholes and interfacial voids during upscaling from small PSCs to large-area modules. Competition in nucleation at concavities with various angles on rough-textured substrates during the gas-pumping drying process, coupled with different drying rates across the expansive film, aggravates these issues. Consequently, substrate roughness notably influences the deposition window of compact large-area perovskite films. We propose a supersaturation regulation approach aimed at achieving compact deposition of high-quality perovskite films over large areas. This involves introducing a rapid drying strategy to induce a high-supersaturation state, thereby equalizing nucleation across diverse concavities. This breakthrough enables the production of perovskite photovoltaics with high efficiencies of 25.58, 21.86, and 20.62% with aperture areas of 0.06, 29, and 1160 square centimeters, respectively.
