Amaç: Bu çalışmada, gelişimsel dil bozukluğu (GDB) olan ve olmayan (GDBO) çocukların iletişim becerilerinin, ebeveyn tutumlarının ve anne-baba stres düzeylerinin ölçeklerle değerlendirilerek karşılaştırılması ve bu ölçeklerin kendi aralarındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Yöntem: Çalışma grubu olarak GDB olan 25 çocuk ve kontrol grubu GDBO 20 çocuk olmak üzere 5-6 yaş aralığındaki toplam 45 çocuk araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Veriler “Okul Öncesi Çocuklar için İletişim Becerilerini Değerlendirme Ölçeği (OÇİBÖ)”, “Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği (ETÖ)” ve “Anne-Baba Stres Ölçeği (ABSÖ)” kullanılarak toplanmış, bu ölçekler ve alt boyutlarına ait puanlar iki grup arasında karşılaştırılmakla birlikte ölçekler ve alt boyutlarındaki ilişkiler incelenmiştir.Bulgular: Bulgulara göre iki grup arasında OÇİBÖ alt boyutlarının tamamı (p=0,000) ile ETÖ koruyucu (p=0,012) ve izin verici (p=0,032) tutum alt boyutlarında fark bulunurken, demokratik (p=0,354) ve otoriter (p=0,226) tutum alt boyutlarında fark bulunmamıştır. İki grup arasında ABSÖ puanları karşılaştırıldığında (p=0,137) ise anlamlı bir fark gözlenmemiştir. Bunun yanı sıra ABSÖ puanlarıyla ETÖ alt boyutlarının ve OÇİBÖ alt boyutlarının bazıları arasında çeşitli derecelerde anlamlı ilişkiler saptanmıştır (p, Aim: In this study, it was aimed to compare the communication skills, parental attitudes, and parental stress levels of children with and without developmental language disorder (DLD) by evaluating them with scales and to examine the relationship between these scales.Method: The study was carried out with a total of 45 children, 25 of whom were DLD and 20 of whom were not DLD, between the ages of 5-6. Objectives: The sense of smell plays an important role in daily life. Olfactory impairment can significantly affect an individual’s quality of life. Topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitors are commonly used to treat elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). One potential side effect of these drugs is a loss of the sense of smell. This study is an examination of changes in olfactory function in patients who used dorzolamide and brinzolamide to control IOP after a laser capsulotomy. Methods: A total of 60 patients with posterior capsule opacification were included in the study. Sniffin’ Sticks (Burghart Messtechnik GmbH, Wedel, Germany) were used to evaluate patient olfactory sensitivity before starting the topical treatment and after 1 week of treatment. Results: No statistically significant decrease in olfactory performance was observed in users of either brinzolamide or dorzolamide (p=0.705, p=0.405 respectively). Conclusion: No negative effect on the sense of smell was determined after 7 days of topical application of a carbonic anhydrase enzyme inhibitor to the eye in patients with no previous anosmia.

Purpose: To reach active compounds from aerial parts of Teucrium chamaedrys L. subsp. sinuatum (TCS) under the guidance of anticancer assay. Methods: The active compounds of T. chamaedrys were isolated using chromatographic techniques including column and preparative thin layer chromatography. Isolated compounds were characterized using 1D and 2D NMR techniques and high-resolution HPLC-TOF/MS. In the present study, we evaluated in vitro antiproliferative activities of isolated compounds from TCS using xCEL-Ligence Real Time Cell Analysis system (RTCA). Findings: Three phenolic compounds, namely luteolin-7-O-glucoside (cinaroside, compound 1), 5,6,3'-trihydroxy-7,4' dimethoxyflavone (nuchensin, compound 2), and (E)-p-coumaroyl-O-beta-D-glucoside (compound 3) were isolated for the first time from Teucrium chamaedrys subsp. sinuatum (TCS). The phenolic compounds have antiproliferative effect against the HeLa (Human uterine cancer), C6 (Rat brain tumor) and PC3 (human prostate carcinoma) cells. Conclusions: The results demonstrated that T.chamaedrys subsp. sinuatum and its active components may be suggested as a promising natural antiproliferative agent against HeLa, C6 and PC3 cells.

The chemical and volatile compounds of M. longifolia were investigated with HPLC-TOF/MS and GC/MS. The highest total phenolic and flavonoid contents were found as 28.27 and 25.42 mg from R6W, respectively. Hesperidin, neohesperidin, taxifolin, fumaric acid, chlorogenic acid, naringin, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, caffeic acid, protocatechuic acid and syringic acid were determined in all extracts. The linalool, menthone, isomenthone, piperitoneoxide, pulegone, thymol, caryophyllene and caryophylleneoxide were major components in volatile compounds. The highest activities were observed significantly (p < 0.01) from R6M, R6W, R10EA and R5M in total antioxidant, superoxide-scavenging, metal-chelating and inhibition of lipid peroxidation activities, respectively. The isolated menthone (96.00%) was exhibited the higher inhibition of lipid peroxidation than standards. WOS: 000432900400024 This study aimed to determine the composition andthe antifungal activity of the essential oils of Vaccinium myrtillus and Laurus nobilis plants. In the study, 22 components were identified in the essential oil of V myrtillus, which represented 100 % of the total essential oils. Accordingly, 1,8-cineole (41.07 %), beta-Linalool (12.72 %), alpha-Pinene (12.17 %) and Myrtenol (6.48%) were determined as the main components of the essential oil of V. myrtillus. The essential oil of L. nobilis consisted of 39 compounds and 1,8-cineole (50.68 %), alpha-Terpinyl acetate (14.19 %), 4-Terpinenol (4.07 %) and alpha-Terpineol (2.90 %) were determined as the main components, which represented 100 %of the total essential oils. In the trials, doses of 0 (control) 1, 2, 4, 8 and 10 mu L/petri dish were used. V myrtillus essential oil inhibited mycelial growth in Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.), Alternaria solani, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici (Sacc.) W.C. Synder & H.N. Hans (FORL) and and Verticillium dahliae Kleb by 61.38 %, 100 %, 80.36 % and 57.91 % respectively. Bay laurel essential oil at 10 mu L/petri dish dose inhibited the mycelial growth of A. solani, S. sclerotiorum, (FORL) by 100 %, whereas it inhibited the mycelial growth in V dahliae by 61.23 %. Study results showed that V myrtillus and L. nobilis essential oils have strong antifungal activities.
