Two-dimensional antimonene (Sb) has attracted attention due to its recently demonstrated favorable physical properties. However, the preparation of high-quality thin films of few-layer antimony alkenes has been rarely reported, greatly hindering the study of 2D antimony properties and application development. Herein, a method for rapid deposition of 2D Sb films by thermal evaporation is presented, and the deposition of the films can be accomplished in only 60 s. The method is based on thermal evaporation of 2D antimony films at 590 °C. Compared to growth on SiO2/Si substrates, Sb is orderly spliced into films with thicknesses as low as ∼2 nm on 2D Sb substrates. Raman spectroscopy confirms the composition of the Sb films rapidly deposited on WS2 by thermal evaporation. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements probed the process of Sb from nucleation to splicing into thin films by rapid thermal evaporation. In recent decades, hypoxic areas have rapidly expanded worldwide in estuaries and coastal zones. The Pearl River Estuary (PRE), one of China's largest estuaries, experiences frequent seasonal hypoxia due to intense human activities and eutrophication. However, the ecological effects of hypoxia in the PRE, particularly on fish communities, remain unclear. To explore these effects, we collected fish community and environmental data in July 2021 during the summer hypoxia development period. The results revealed that bottom‐layer dissolved oxygen (DO) in the PRE ranged from 0.08 to 5.71 mg/L, with extensive hypoxic zones (DO ≤ 2 mg/L) observed. Hypoxia has varied effects on fish community composition, distribution, species, and functional diversity in the PRE. A total of 104 fish species were collected in this study, with approximately 30 species (28.6%) exclusively found in hypoxic areas. Species responses to hypoxia varied: species such as Sardinella zunasi, Coilia mystus, and Nuchequula nuchalis were sensitive, while Decapterus maruadsi, Siganus fuscescens, and Lagocephalus spadiceus showed higher tolerance. Within the hypoxia area, dissolved oxygen was the main limiting factor for fish community diversity. Functional diversity (FDiv) decreased with higher dissolved oxygen levels, indicating a potential shift in the functional traits and ecological roles of fish species in response to changing oxygen conditions. Further analysis demonstrated that dissolved oxygen had a significantly stronger effect on fish community structure at hypoxic sites than in the whole PRE. Moreover, other environmental variables also had significant effects on the fish community structure and interacted with dissolved oxygen in the hypoxia area. These findings suggest that maintaining sufficient dissolved oxygen levels is essential for sustaining fish communities and ecosystem health in the PRE. This study provides novel insights into the effects of hypoxia on fish communities in estuarine ecosystems and has significant implications for the ecological health and management of the PRE. To address the fish use patterns of artificial structures mimicking floating macrophytes deployed in a impounded tributary of the Pearl River, China, field experiments were performed from December 2014 to June 2016 using multi-mesh gillnet. The fish assemblages using artificial structures differ in terms of species richness, abundance, body size, diversity indices, and ecological traits from fish assemblages on natural barren habitats of this river. Overall, fish abundance, species richness, Shannon diversity index, and functional richness were higher at the artificial structures than at the control sites, while fish length and functional evenness was greater at the control sites in comparison to artificial structures. The introduction of artificial structures did not result in statistically significant effects on fish biomass as artificial structures attracted more individuals with smaller size. Seasonal changes of chlorophyll-a and transparency may affect the efficiency of artificial structure in harboring fishes. This study revealed that artificial structures, as synthesized habitats, are effective in acting as a “fish attractor” and an alternative tool to provide new habitats for smaller individuals in a dammed river like the Youjiang River which is a structure-less ecosystem.

Band alignment engineering is crucial for facilitating charge separation and transfer in optoelectronic devices, which ultimately dictates the behavior of Van der Waals heterostructures (vdWH)-based photodetectors and light emitting diode (LEDs). However, the impact of the band offset in vdWHs on important figures of merit in optoelectronic devices has not yet been systematically analyzed. Herein, the regulation of band alignment in WSe 2 /Bi 2 Te 3- x Se x vdWHs (0 ≤ x ≤ 3) is demonstrated through the implementation of chemical vapor deposition (CVD). A combination of experimental and theoretical results proved that the synthesized vdWHs can be gradually tuned from Type I (WSe 2 /Bi 2 Te 3 ) to Type III (WSe 2 /Bi 2 Se 3 ). As the band alignment changes from Type I to Type III, a remarkable responsivity of 58.12 A W -1 and detectivity of 2.91×10 12 Jones (in Type I) decrease in the vdWHs-based photodetector, and the ultrafast photoresponse time is 3.2 µs (in Type III). Additionally, Type III vdWH-based LEDs exhibit the highest luminance and electroluminescence (EL) external quantum efficiencies (EQE) among p-n diodes based on Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDs) at room temperature, which is attributed to band alignment-induced distinct interfacial charge injection.
