Multiple infections enable the recombination of different strains, which may contribute to viral diversity. How multiple infections affect the competition dynamics between the two types of strains, the wild and the immune escape mutant, remains poorly understood. This study develops a novel mathematical model that includes the two strains, two modes of viral infection, and multiple infections. For the representative double-infection case, the reproductive numbers are derived and global stabilities of equilibria are obtained via the Lyapunov direct method and theory of limiting systems. Numerical simulations indicate similar viral dynamics regardless of multiplicities of infections though the competition between the two strains would be the fiercest in the case of quadruple infections. Through sensitivity analysis, we evaluate the effect of parameters on the set-point viral loads in the presence and absence of multiple infections. The model with multiple infections predict that there exists a threshold for cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) to minimize the overall viral load. Weak or strong CTLs immune response can result in high overall viral load. If the strength of CTLs maintains at an intermediate level, the fitness cost of the mutant is likely to have a significant impact on the evolutionary dynamics of mutant viruses. We further investigate how multiple infections alter the viral dynamics during the combination antiretroviral therapy (cART). Maintaining a consistently high current density growth rate in the hydrogen evolution reaction is highly challenging because the limited mass transfer rate at the electrode/electrolyte interface will make the adsorption reaction as the rate‐determining step associated with a low hydrogen coverage, exhibiting a Tafel slope >120 mV dec–1. Therefore, maximizing the current density range in which the desorption reaction is the rate‐determining step, can significantly reduce the overpotential. Herein, a surface sulfur decoration strategy is presented to modify the molybdenum carbide electrocatalyst and achieve coordinated adsorption/desorption kinetics, leading to a dominant Volmer–Heyrovsky mechanism across a wide range of current densities. Both experimental and theoretical results validate the surface charge redistribution induced by sulfur decoration, which subtly optimizes the Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption and enhances the in‐plane polarization field. As a result, the as‐obtained surface sulfur‐decorated molybdenum carbide electrocatalyst exhibits coordinated adsorption/desorption kinetics and efficient hydrogen delivery, ultimately surpassing the commercial Pt/C electrocatalyst for high‐efficiency hydrogen evolution. This article highlights the neglected political participation of Daoism, Buddhism, and Chinese folk religions in Hong Kong in recent years, focusing on how local communities creatively engage with three deities in particular, namely Wong Tai Sin 黃大仙, Kwan Kung 關公, and Che Kung 車公. Building on C. K. Yang's classic theories of diffused religion, it demonstrates how grassroots religions are diffused with political activism in Hong Kong as an example of what the political scientist and anthropologist James C. Scott refers to as "infrapolitics." These three iconic deities of diffused religions have most famously become protest symbols with creativity, humor, and satire, in contrast with a secular China as well as the official portrayal of the violence of the protest. The transformation of these local deities from tourist attractions to protest symbols epitomizes Hong Kong's emerging identity through the celebration of its own guardian gods and their divine protection. This forum explicates Hong Kong's complex religious and ritual landscape and the ways in which it influences social movements and identity making, in response to large forces of religion and protest around the world today, including in Ukraine and places in Asia such as Iran and Myanmar. Scholars have noted how various forms of Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and popular Chinese religions have been diffused into the secular spaces of Hong Kong's governing state structures, formal and informal economies, and ad hoc protest organizations in civil society. Recent work has also emphasized the ways that race, ethnicity, and gender have been shaped not only by institutions with religious ties but also by theological and cosmological narratives that circulate through the public sphere. Religiosity in the Hong Kong protests might also be conceived as polyphonic, layering over familial practices with structures that have colonial baggage and postcolonial aspirations. Religion, in such senses, tends to be unbound by secular attempts to fence it into private spheres; it might be seen as forging a new civil society and civil identity through recent protests and shaping new theoretical frameworks. Summary: Fertile pollen is critical for the survival, fitness, and dispersal of flowering plants, and directly contributes to crop productivity. Extensive mutational screening studies have been carried out to dissect the genetic regulatory network determining pollen fertility, but we still lack fundamental knowledge about whether and how pollen fertility is controlled in natural populations. We used a genome‐wide association study (GWAS) to show that ZmGEN1A and ZmMSH7, two DNA repair‐related genes, confer natural variation in maize pollen fertility. Mutants defective in these genes exhibited abnormalities in meiotic or post‐meiotic DNA repair, leading to reduced pollen fertility. More importantly, ZmMSH7 showed evidence of selection during maize domestication, and its disruption resulted in a substantial increase in grain yield for both inbred and hybrid. Overall, our study describes the first systematic examination of natural genetic effects on pollen fertility in plants, providing valuable genetic resources for optimizing male fertility. AbstractObjectiveMethodsResultsConclusionTo investigate the impact of gut microbiota dysbiosis on neurodevelopment in children.This study included 338 children aged 0-3 years admitted to our hospital from January to December 2022, The children were divided into a normal neurodevelopment group (169 cases) and a poor neurodevelopment group (169 cases). Basic personal information and clinical data were collected through a detailed questionnaire, and the microbial composition in fecal samples was analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Children in the poor neurodevelopment group showed a significant decrease in gut microbiota diversity compared to those in the normal neurodevelopment group (Shannon index, p < 0.05). The abundance of Bifidobacterium and Veillonella genera significantly decreased (p < 0.05), while the abundance of Streptococcus genus increased significantly (p < 0.05).There is an association between gut microbiota dysbiosis and poor neurodevelopment in children. The increased abundance of Streptococcus genus and decreased abundance of Bifidobacterium and Veillonella genera in the gut microbiota may be potential risk factors for poor neurodevelopment in preterm infants. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) in mRNA and 5-methylcytosine (5mC) in DNA have critical functions for regulating gene expression and modulating plant growth and development. However, the interplay between m6A and 5mC is an elusive territory and remains unclear mechanistically in plants. We reported an occurrence of crosstalk between m6A and 5mC in maize (Zea mays) via the interaction between mRNA adenosine methylase (ZmMTA), the core component of the m6A methyltransferase complex, and decrease in DNA methylation 1 (ZmDDM1), a key chromatin-remodeling factor that regulates DNA methylation. Genes with m6A modification were coordinated with a much higher level of DNA methylation than genes without m6A modification. Dysfunction of ZmMTA caused severe arrest during maize embryogenesis and endosperm development, leading to a significant decrease in CHH methylation in the 5′ region of m6A-modified genes. Instead, loss of function of ZmDDM1 had no noteworthy effects on ZmMTA-related activity. This study establishes a direct link between m6A and 5mC during maize kernel development and provides insights into the interplay between RNA modification and DNA methylation. The mRNA adenosine methylase ZmMTA interacts with decrease in DNA methylation 1 in maize and facilitates targeting to transcription start sites, contributing to the interplay of RNA N6-methyladenosine modification and DNA methylation. BOG re-liquefaction process is a necessary part for the safety of LNG cargo ships, and it is also the most common way to deal with evaporated gas (BOG) in LNG ships. Therefore, how to optimize the re-liquefaction process and save energy consumption is a problem that cannot be ignored in BOG re-liquefaction system. In this paper, based on the traditional BOG re-liquefaction process, a liquid nitrogen precooling circulation system is added and linked with the nitrogen purging system. Aspen HYSYS software was used to simulate and analyze the exergy efficiency, specific power consumption, exergy efficiency in the proposed liquefaction process. In addition, we introduced a bacterial foraging algorithm to optimize the process parameters. According to the operation results, the optimized process has a specific power consumption of 1.028 kWh/kg LNG , which is 21.53 % lower than that of the original NH 3 and CO 2 precooling system. Changing the traditional precooling system to liquid nitrogen tank reduces the complexity of the liquefaction system and improves the reliability of the system. Because liquid nitrogen has excellent cryogenic energy, small size, cheap price, safety in the actual use process and the linkage with the purge device on board, it shows excellent performance in the process of BOG pre-cooling liquefaction. The development of an efficient catalyst with excellent performance using agricultural biomass waste as raw materials is highly desirable for practical water pollution control. Herein, nano-sized, metal-decorated biochar was successfully synthesized with in situ chemical deposition at room temperature. The optimized BC-Cu (1:4) composite exhibited excellent peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation performance due to the enhanced non-radical pathway. The as-prepared BC-Cu (1:4) composite displays a superior 99.99% removal rate for ciprofloxacin degradation (initial concentration 20 mg·L−1) within 40 min. In addition, BC-Cu (1:4) has superior acid-base adaptability (3.98~11.95) and anti-anion interference ability. The trapping experiments and identification of reactive oxidative radicals confirmed the crucial role of enhanced singlet oxygen for ciprofloxacin degradation via a BC-Cu (1:4)/PMS system. With the assistance of N-donor ligand 1,4-bi(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene (1,4-bib), Co(II) reacts with 5-((4-carboxyphenoxy)-methyl)isophthalic acid (H3L) under hydrothermal condition to form a compound [Co3(L3−)2(1,4-bib)4]·4H2O (1). The both contributions of semi-rigid tricarboxylic ligand L3− and rigid 1,4-bib leads to predictably high dimensional structure. Compound 1 crystallizes in a complicated 3D network, which can be simplified as 3,6,8-conn topology. For the correlation between structure and property, the structural feature is well reflected in the magnetic property: a carboxylato group bridges two Co(II) paramagnetic ions. Both receptor-binding domain in spike protein (S-RBD) of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and human neuropilin-1 (NRP1) are important in the virus entry, and their concomitant inhibition may become a potential strategy against the SARS-CoV-2 infection. Herein, five novel dual S-RBD/NRP1-targeting peptides with nanomolar binding affinities were identified by structure-based virtual screening. Particularly, RN-4 was found to be the most promising peptide targeting S-RBD (Kd = 7.4 ± 0.5 nM) and NRP1-BD (the b1 domain of NRP1) (Kd = 16.1 ± 1.1 nM) proteins. Further evidence in the pseudovirus infection assay showed that RN-4 can significantly inhibit the SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus entry into 293 T cells (EC50 = 0.39 ± 0.09 μM) without detectable side effects. Artesunate (ART) has great value in the field of tumor therapy. Interestingly, in this study, we found that ART could obviously induce ferroptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells, but its low water solubility and bioavailability limited its application potential. Hence, we synthesized ART-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) conjugated with folic acid (FA) (MSN-ART-FA) with tumor-targeting performance and assessed their characteristics. We evaluated the ability of MSN-ART and MSN-ART-FA to induce ferroptosis of hepatoma cells via testing levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), Fe2+, malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione (GSH), observation of mitochondrial morphology, as well as the expression of key proteins in ferroptosis. The results showed that prepared MSN-ART and MSN-ART-FA could remarkedly improve the bioavailability of ART to enhance ferroptosis, thereby inhibiting cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro. Besides, MSN-ART-FA group displayed slower tumor growth and smaller tumor volumes than MSN-ART group in HepG2 xenograft mouse model. Summary: The number of pollen grains is a critical determinant of reproductive success in seed plants and varies among species and individuals. However, in contrast with many mutant‐screening studies relevant to anther and pollen development, the natural genetic basis for variations in pollen number remains largely unexplored. To address this issue, we carried out a genome‐wide association study in maize, ultimately revealing that a large presence/absence variation in the promoter region of ZmRPN1 alters its expression level and thereby contributes to pollen number variation. Molecular analyses showed that ZmRPN1 interacts with ZmMSP1, which is known as a germline cell number regulator, and facilitates ZmMSP1 localization to the plasma membrane. Importantly, ZmRPN1 dysfunction resulted in a substantial increase in pollen number, consequently boosting seed production by increasing female–male planting ratio. Together, our findings uncover a key gene controlling pollen number, and therefore, modulation of ZmRPN1 expression could be efficiently used to develop elite pollinators for modern hybrid maize breeding. Background: A major obstacle to the development of personalized therapies for gastric cancer (GC) is the prevalent heterogeneity at the intra-tumor, intra-patient, and inter-patient levels. Although the pathological stage and histological subtype diagnosis can approximately predict prognosis, GC heterogeneity is rarely considered. The extracellular matrix (ECM), a major component of the tumor microenvironment (TME), extensively interacts with tumor and immune cells, providing a possible proxy to investigate GC heterogeneity. However, ECM consists of numerous protein components, and there are no suitable models to screen ECM-related genes contributing to tumor growth and prognosis. We constructed patient-derived tumor xenograft (PDTX) models to obtain robust ECM-related transcriptomic signatures to improve GC prognosis prediction and therapy design. Methods: One hundred twenty two primary GC tumor tissues were collected to construct PDTX models. The tumorigenesis rate and its relationship with GC prognosis were investigated. Transcriptome profiling was performed for PDTX-originating tumors, and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression analysis was applied to extract prognostic ECM signatures and establish PDTX tumorigenicity-related gene (PTG) scores. The predictive ability of the PTG score was validated using two independent cohorts. Finally, we combined PTG score, age, and pathological stage information to establish a robust nomogram for GC prognosis prediction. Results: We found that PDTX tumorigenicity indicated a poor prognosis in patients with GC, even at the same pathological stage. Transcriptome profiling of PDTX-originating GC tissues and corresponding normal controls identified 383 differentially expressed genes, with enrichment of ECM-related genes. A robust prognosis prediction model using the PTG score showed robust performance in two validation cohorts. A high PTG score was associated with elevated M2 polarized macrophage and cancer-associated fibroblast infiltration. Finally, combining the PTG score with age and TNM stage resulted in a more effective prognostic model than age or TNM stage alone. Conclusions: We found that ECM-related signatures may contribute to PDTX tumorigenesis and indicate a poor prognosis in GC. A feasible survival prediction model was built based on the PTG score, which was associated with immune cell infiltration. Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) is the primary epidemic strain in China. Its genome contains two regulatory genes (tat and rev), three structural genes (gag, pol, and env), and four accessory genes (nef, vpr, vpu, and vif). Long terminal repeats (LTRs) in thegenome regulate integration, duplication, and expression of viral gene. The permissibility of HIV-1 infection hinges on the host cell cycle status. HIV-1 replicates by exploiting various cellular processes via upregulation or downregulation of specific cellular proteins that also control viral pathogenesis. For example, HIV-1 regulates the life cycle of p53, which in turn contributes significantly to HIV-1 pathogenesis. In this article, we review the interaction between HIV-1-associated factors and p53, providing information on their regulatory and molecular mechanisms, hinting possible directions for further research. Influenza virus (IV) is a common pathogen affecting the upper respiratory tract, that causes various diseases. Secondary bacterial pneumonia is a common complication and a major cause of death in influenza patients. Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) is the predominant co-infected bacteria in the pandemic, which colonizes healthy people but can cause diseases in immunocompromised individuals. Vaccination is a crucial strategy for avoiding infection, however, no universal influenza vaccine (UIV) that is resistant to multiple influenza viruses is available. Despite its limited immunogenicity, the hemagglutinin (HA) stem is a candidate peptide for UIV. ΔA146Ply (pneumolysin with a single deletion of A146) not only retains the Toll-like receptor 4 agonist effect but also is a potential vaccine adjuvant and a candidate protein for the S. pneumoniae vaccine. We constructed the fusion protein ΔA146Ply-HA stem and studied its immunoprotective effect in mice infection models. The results showed that intramuscular immunization of ΔA146Ply-HA stem without adjuvant could induce specific antibodies against HA stem and specific CD4+ T and CD8+ T cellular immunity in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice, which could improve the survival rate of mice infected with IAV and co-infected with S. pneumoniae , but the protective effect on BALB/c mice was better than that on C57BL/6 mice. ΔA146Ply-HA stem serum antibody could protect BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice from IAV, and recognized HA polypeptides of H3N2, H5N1, H7N9, and H9N2 viruses. Moreover, ΔA146Ply-HA stem intramuscular immunization had a high safety profile with no obvious toxic side effects. Moreover, a control strategy is proposed to optimize the liquefaction process. The proposed four possible operating conditions' efficiency,the specific energy consumption (SEC), liquefaction rate and main heat exchanger parameters were simulated and analyzed by using Aspen HYSYS software. According to the results, the specific energy consumption of the basic re-liquefaction process is 1.329 kWh/kg LNG , which is 5.7% less than that of the reference process; In the study of flow fluctuation, after adopting the control strategy, the specific energy consumption of the whole process is 1.29 kWh/kg LNG , with 15.6% efficiency and 99.5% liquefaction rate. The whole system can be maintained at a low specific energy consumption level when the feed gas volume is fluctuating. The analyses of various BOG composition and the parameters of the main heat exchanger show that the regulation of the inlet gas volume can make the primary re-liquefaction process flexible and maintain the heat exchanger in a good working condition; Even if the system is in a worse working condition, the inlet gas volume can be improved by 12.2% compared with the reference process. Objectives: Available literature documents that ischemic stroke can disrupt the morphology and function of mitochondria and that the latter in other disease models can be preserved by neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) via oxidative stress suppression. However, whether NRP-1 can repair mitochondrial structure and promote functional recovery after cerebral ischemia is still unknown. This study tackled this very issue and explored the underlying mechanism. Methods: Adeno-associated viral (AAV)-NRP-1 was stereotaxically inoculated into the cortex and ipsilateral striatum posterior of adult male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats before a 90-min transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) and subsequent reperfusion. Lentivirus (LV)-NRP-1 was transfected into rat primary cortical neuronal cultures before a 2-h oxygen-glucose deprivation and reoxygenation (OGD/R) injury to neurons. The expression and function of NRP-1 and its specific protective mechanism were investigated by Western Blot, immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry, magnetic resonance imaging, transmission electron microscopy, etc. The binding was detected by molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation. Results: Both in vitro and in vivo models of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury presented a sharp increase in NRP-1 expression. The expression of AAV-NRP-1 markedly ameliorated the cerebral I/R-induced damage to the motor function and restored the mitochondrial morphology. The expression of LV-NRP-1 alleviated mitochondrial oxidative stress and bioenergetic deficits. AAV-NRP-1 and LV-NRP-1 treatments increased the wingless integration (Wnt)-associated signals and β-catenin nuclear localization. The protective effects of NRP-1 were reversed by the administration of XAV-939. Conclusions: NRP-1 can produce neuroprotective effects against I/R injury to the brain by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and promoting mitochondrial structural repair and functional recovery, which may serve as a promising candidate target in treating ischemic stroke. Current seasonal influenza A virus (IAV) vaccines only protect against specific virus and require annual reconstitution to accommodate the viral mutations. A universal influenza vaccination that protects against all IAV strains is urgently needed. The influenza matrix protein 2 ectodomain (M2e) is a potential universal IAV vaccine candidate, but it has a low immunogenicity. ΔA146Ply was proved to be an effective protein adjuvant. Therefore, ΔA146Ply was used as an adjuvant of M2e in this study to evaluate its protective effect against IAV-related infection. Herein, a novel rM2e protein containing multiple M2e originated from different species of IAV was constructed and expressed in Escherichia coli (E. coli). Meanwhile, we also constructed and expressed the rM2e-ΔPly protein in E. coli. These proteins were administered intramuscularly to BALB/c mice. rM2e-ΔPly protein induces higher levels of humoral and cellular responses compared with their comprising protein mixture or rM2e alone. rM2e-ΔPly protein enhances the survival rate, reduces viral loads and inflammatory response in lung challenged with PR8. The serum induced by rM2e-ΔPly protein can protect against PR8 by passive immunity and cross-react with multiple M2e peptides derived from different IAV subtypes. After IAV and Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) co-infection, rM2e-Ply protein can improve survival, lower viral and bacterial burdens, and diminish inflammatory response in the lungs. Most discussions on religious activism in Hong Kong focus on Christianity. Building on C. K. Yang's classic theory of diffused religion, this article first distinguishes Chinese religious institutions from less institutional religious practices and expressions and argues beyond this popular assumption and representation of Christianity by considering elements of Buddhism, Daoism, and Chinese folk religions in recent activism, revealing a more complex religious ecology. Second, this paper uncovers a longer historical trajectory whereby colonial forces attempted to co-opt Christianity to legitimize their power, which explains why assumptions concerning Christian domination exist in the first place. Furthermore, colonial policies, Cold War politics, and Chinese regimes have all co-opted institutional religious elites in Hong Kong for ideological purposes, resulting in institutional Chinese religions in Hong Kong, such as Buddhism and Daoism, being connected with the Chinese Communist Party, whereas the linkage between Christianity and liberty is reinforced. At the same time, without secularizing forces from Mainland China, religions in Hong Kong, including Christianity, institutional Chinese religions, and less institutional folk religions, have all diffused into secular institutions and with each other, contributing to the foundation of the Chinese community in the past and the pursuit of democracy, justice, and freedom today on a grassroots, non-institutional level. In this way, this article not only offers critical insight into the role of religion in Hong Kong activism and the often neglected history of religious co-optations under British colonialism and in the Cold War but also provides a theoretical contribution in terms of furthering our understanding of the relationship among religious institutions, state apparatuses, and diffused religion on the ground. Electrohydrodynamic 3D printing (EHD-3DP) employing the solution and melting liquids as inks, receives extensive applications in the manufacturing of different materials. However, the jet lagging effect associated with positioning accuracy has yet to be solved. Here, we report a new technique of non-tailing jet printing to deposit fibres precisely. By applying poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) solution at an ultra-low concentration of 5 wt.%, a straight-line jet profile perpendicular to the collector plane was obtained at the high motion speeds of 30–90 mm/s. This enabled the moving jet-to-collector point kept up with the projection of nozzle tip on collector plane, leading to improved positioning accuracy of PCL fibres. The optimal protocol on material and processing parameters avoided the structural staccatos of printed fibres. This work provides insights into how the printed fibres from low-concentration inks are influenced by different parameters. Background: The human copper Cu proteome, also termed Cu-binding proteins (CBP), is responsible for transporting "free" Cu to the cell that is related to cuproptosis. However, their role in gastric cancer (GC) has not been reported. Methods: RNA expression data of 946 GC patients were collected. A series of machine learning and bioinformatic approaches were combined to build a CBP signature to predict survival and immune microenvironment and guide the priority treatment. Immunohistochemistry and multicolor immunofluorescence (mIF) in 1076 resection slides were used to verify immune features. Results: A CBP signature was constructed using the machine learning method from TCGA that classifies cases as CBP_low and CBP_high groups. Multivariable Cox analysis confirmed that the CBP signature was an independent prognostic factor in the training and validation cohorts. Additionally, GC patients with low CBPscores showed an increase in anti-tumor immune microenvironment, which was further verified by mIF in pathological resections following immunotherapy. Importantly, patients with low CBPscores had higher levels of TMB/MSI and responded well to immunotherapy. Conclusions: We conducted the first and comprehensive CBP analysis of GC patients and established a clinically feasible CBP signature for predicting survival and response to treatment, which will be helpful for guiding personalized medicine. Cancer is a genetic mutation disease that seriously endangers the health and life of all human beings. As one of the most amazing academic achievements in the past decade, CRISPR/Cas9 technology has been sought after by many researchers due to its powerful gene editing capability. CRISPR/Cas9 technology shows great potential in oncology, and has become one of the most promising technologies for cancer genome-editing therapeutics. However, its efficiency and the safety issues of in vivo gene editing severely limit its widespread application. Therefore, developing a suitable delivery method for the CRISPR/Cas9 system is an urgent problem to be solved at present. Rapid advances in nanomedicine suggest nanoparticles could be a viable option. In this review, we summarize the latest research on the potential use of nanoparticle-based CRISPR/Cas9 systems in cancer therapeutics, in order to further their clinical application. We hope that this review will provide a novel insight into the CRISPR/Cas9 system and offer guidance for nanocarrier designs that will enable its use in cancer clinical applications. Ovarian cancer is one of the three major gynecological malignancies. It has been reported that Icariside II was able to block the occurrence and development of ovarian cancer. However, the detailed mechanism by which Icariside II regulates the development of ovarian cancer is widely unknown. EdU staining and transwell assays were applied to detect the proliferation, migration, and invasion of ovarian cancer cells. Next, the relationship between miR‐144‐3p and IGF2R was verified by the dual‐luciferase reporter assay. Moreover, in vivo animal model was constructed to verify the effect of Icariside II on the development of ovarian cancer. Icariside II notably inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion and induced the apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells. Additionally, Icariside II markedly increased the level of miR‐144‐3p in ovarian cancer cells. Moreover, IGF2R was targeted by miR‐144‐3p directly. Icariside II significantly decreased the expression of IGF2R and the phosphorylation level of AKT and mTOR in ovarian cancer cells, which were partially reversed by miR‐144‐3p inhibitor. Meanwhile, Icariside II remarkably promoted the autophagy of ovarian cancer cells, as confirmed by the increased expression of Beclin‐1 and ATG‐5 and decreased expression of p62; however, co‐treatment with miR‐144‐3p inhibitor notably decreased autophagy. Furthermore, the result of animal study suggested Icariside II notably inhibited ovarian tumor growth as well. Collectively, Icariside II could suppress the tumorigenesis and development of ovarian cancer by promoting autophagy via miR‐144‐3p/IGF2R axis. Tendon is a fibrous connective tissue where the fibres as biophysical cues are key regulators to regenerate injured tendon. However, electrospun fibres are often mechanically insufficient for the tendon application. Here, we reported a method by using rough polymer surface as the reinforcement of fibres to promote surface fibre deposition and integration during electrospinning. Results showed that the addition of polymer surface with open-pore topography significantly improved the deposition of fibres. The as-fabricated fibre topography was found to couple with improved surface hydrophilicity, higher crystallinity, and mechanical properties including both the maximum force and extension upon receiving elastic and plastic deformations. Seeding with TCSs, the fibre topography showed good cell compatibility and could be able to support F-actin cytoskeleton expression with the building of tendon cell interconnection. Soy sauce is a traditional condiment that undergoes microbial fermentation of various ingredients to achieve its desired color, scent, and flavor. Sporidiobolus pararoseus , which is a type of Rhodocerevisiae , shows promising potential as a source of lipids, carotenoids, and enzymes that can enrich the taste and color of soy sauce. However, there is currently a lack of systematic and comprehensive studies on the functions and mechanisms of action of S. pararoseus during soy sauce fermentation. In this review, it is well established that S. pararoseus produces lipids that are abundant in unsaturated fatty acids, particularly oleic acid, as well as various carotenoids, such as β-carotene, torulene, and torularhodin. These pigments are synthesized through the mevalonic acid pathway and possess remarkable antioxidant properties, acting as natural colorants. The synthesis of carotenoids is stimulated by high salt concentrations, which induces oxidative stress caused by NaCl. This stress further activates crucial enzymes involved in carotenoid production, ultimately leading to pigment formation. Moreover, S. pararoseus can produce high-quality enzymes that aid in the efficient utilization of soy sauce substrates during fermentation. Furthermore, this review focused on the impact of S. pararoseus on the color and quality of soy sauce and comprehensively analyzed its characteristics and ingredients. • We propose a cross-modal propagation network (called CMPN) based on meta-learning for generalized zero-shot learning. • CMPN incorporates the adaptive graph construction and label propagation into the generative ZSL framework. • CMPN guarantees intra-class compactness and inter-class separation in the latent space. • The experiment results validate the effectiveness of CMPN. Zero-shot learning (ZSL) aims to recognize unseen classes by transferring semantic knowledge from seen classes to unseen ones. Since only seen classes are available during training, the domain bias issue, i.e., the trained model is biased toward seen classes, is the key issue for ZSL. To alleviate the bias problem, generation-based approaches are proposed to build generative models that can generate fake visual features of unseen classes by utilizing semantic vectors. However, most of the existing generative methods still suffer some degree of domain bias caused by the ambiguous generation of fake features. In this paper, we propose a cross-modal propagation network (CMPN), which adopts an episode-based meta-learning strategy. CMPN incorporates the adaptive graph construction and label propagation into the generative ZSL framework for guaranteeing an unambiguous and discriminative fake feature generating. By further leveraging the manifold structure of different modalities in the latent space, CMPN can implicitly ensure intra-class compactness and inter-class separation through label propagation classification in latent space. Electronic music can help people alleviate the pressure in life and work. It is a way to express people's emotional needs. With the increase of the types and quantity of electronic music, the traditional electronic music classification and emotional analysis cannot meet people's more and more detailed emotional needs. Therefore, this study proposes the emotion analysis of electronic music based on the PSO-BP neural network and data analysis, optimizes the BP neural network through the PSO algorithm, and extracts and analyzes the emotional characteristics of electronic music combined with data analysis. The experimental results show that compared with BP neural network, PSO-BP neural network has a faster convergence speed and better optimal individual fitness value and can provide more stable operating conditions for later training and testing. The electronic music emotion analysis model based on PSO-BP neural network can reduce the error rate of electronic music lyrics text emotion classification and identify and analyze electronic music emotion with high accuracy, which is closer to the actual results and meets the expected requirements. Modern communication services are developing rapidly, and indoor positioning technologies are diverse. However, the accuracy of single algorithm cannot meet the actual requirements. To address this issue, an hybrid indoor positioning algorithm for cellular and Wi-Fi networks is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm consists of two phases, namely the offline phase and the online phase. In the offline phase, a fingerprint database is reconstructed by principal component analysis (PCA) and interpolation methods to reduce the costs of time. Then, in the online phase, the back propagation (BP) neural network positioning algorithm optimized by adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA-BP) is used for positioning. Moreover, the algorithm uses cellular network positioning to divide sub-regions and then uses Wi-Fi networks to further improve accuracy. Vacancy engineering has been widely used to enhance the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance due to its effective electronic modulation effect. Herein, the molybdenum (Mo) vacancies were introduced into molybdenum phosphide (MoP) towards high-efficiency hydrogen evolution for the first time. Benefiting from the charge redistribution around the Mo vacancies, the exposed P sites can serve as ideal catalytic sites with a free energy of hydrogen adsorption close to zero. Meanwhile, an internal polarization field from terminal Mo atoms to exposed P atoms can offer a more efficient "H delivery" mechanism, achieving fast HER kinetics with a dominant Volmer-Heyrovsky mechanism at a wide range of current density and ultimately exceeding the commercial Pt/C catalyst for high-efficiency hydrogen evolution. More importantly, we first report that the P p-band center can be used as an alternative descriptor to evaluate the HER performance of the electrocatalysts which utilize P atoms as the main active sites. Herein, PA-GO was facilely prepared via hydrothermal method and utilized as adsorbent to remove aqueous Congo red (CR) and malachite green (MG). The adsorbent-adsorbate interaction mechanism was elaborately scrutinized based on the hard and soft acid base (HSAB) principle, spectroscopic analysis and adsorption fitting. Result shows, after five consecutive cycles, PA-GO maintains adsorption quantity 242.82 mg·g−1 and 117.53 mg·g−1 for CR and MG, respectively. The HSAB principle illuminates, primary interaction of PA-GO with both CR and MG is provided by phytic acid moiety (PA). For CR adsorption, electron of N atom in –NH 2 group flows towards O atom in OH and O(-O-) of PA. While for MG adsorption, electron of N atom in (CH 3) 2 N– group flows towards O atom in OH and O(-O-) of PA. FTIR, UV–Vis analyses supports the HSAB principle prediction. In brief, the hydroxyls and phosphoric groups introduced by PA functionalization enhance the adsorption affinity of GO. Adsorption of CR, MG by PA-GO under favorable pH is thermodynamically chemical but kinetically impelled by electrostatic interaction. • Copper sulfide (Cu x S) was first selected as electrode materials for AAIBs. • The flower-like CuS exhibited outstanding NH 4 + storage performance. • The NH 4 + energy storage mechanism in CuS host was revealed. • The electrolyte composition was adjusted to effectively improve the electrode stability. The aqueous ammonium-ion batteries (AAIBs) exhibit significant significance because of their high energy, cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and high safety. Nonetheless, electrode materials with good cycle stability as well as great capacity have a crucial role in developing aqueous ammonium ion batteries. Herein, flower-like CuS microspheres were successfully utilized in AAIBs. The experimental results demonstrated that the as-synthetized copper sulfides revealed high conductivity and flower-like microspheres, and its initial discharge capacity was as high as 710 mAh g−1 at the 0.1 A g−1 current density. The 1T phase of MoS2 has been widely reported to be highly active toward the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), which is expected to restrict the competitive nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR). However, in this work, a prototype of active sites separation over 1T‐MoS2 is proposed by DFT calculations that the Mo‐edge and S atoms on the basal plane exhibit different catalytic NRR and HER selectivity, and a new role‐playing synergistic mechanism is also well enabled for the multistep NRR, which is further experimentally confirmed. More importantly, a self‐sacrificial strategy using g‐C3N4 as templates is proposed to synthesize 1T‐MoS2 with an ultrahigh 1T content (75.44%, named as CNMS, representing the composition elements of C, N, Mo, and S), which yields excellent NRR performances with an ammonia formation rate of 71.07 µg h–1 mg–1cat. at −0.5 V versus RHE and a Faradic efficiency of 21.01%. This paper focuses on Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor's discourse of motherly love during the 2019 mass protests, examining it in relation to the politicization of Confucianism taking place in China today. This politicization results from a new cult of personality centered on President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan which reinforces patriarchal authoritarianism and familial nationalism through an explicit emphasis on Confucianism and traditional values. Through this process, authoritarian power has been reconfigured and legitimized as Confucian duty, with the result that political leaders are made to appear firm but benevolent parents while the protestors are cast in the role of children requiring discipline. Lam's discourse of motherly love is further complicated by the fact that she is the first woman to assume such a leadership role in modern Chinese history, which further illuminates Hong Kong's struggle against both patriarchal authoritarianism and the gendered legacy of coloniality. Exosomes are a subpopulation of the tumour microenvironment (TME) that transmit various biological molecules to promote intercellular communication. Exosomes are derived from nearly all types of cells and exist in all body fluids. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) are among the most abundant contents in exosomes, and some ncRNAs with biological functions are specifically packaged into exosomes. Recent studies have revealed that exosome-derived ncRNAs play crucial roles in the tumorigenesis, progression and drug resistance of gastric cancer (GC). In addition, regulating the expression levels of exosomal ncRNAs can promote or suppress GC progression. Moreover, the membrane structures of exosomes protect ncRNAs from degradation by enzymes and other chemical substances, significantly increasing the stability of exosomal ncRNAs. Specific hallmarks within exosomes that can be used for exosome identification, and specific contents can be used to determine their origin. Therefore, exosomal ncRNAs are suitable for use as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Regulating the biogenesis of exosomes and the expression levels of exosomal ncRNAs may represent a new way to block or eradicate GC. Starting from the main eco-environmental problems faced by water environment, taking Yanhe River Basin as an example, this paper discusses the theoretical connotation and evaluation calculation method of eco-environmental water consumption. In order to study the eco-environmental water consumption of Yanhe River Basin, a runoff driving factor mining method based on big data analysis is established in this paper. Aiming at the problem that the statistical law and genetic law of runoff change frequently in changing environment, the mining technology method of runoff key driving factors is proposed by combining traditional methods with big data analysis. The characteristic factors that have no significant impact on runoff change are removed, the implicit characteristic factors affecting runoff change are extracted, the driving relationship of hydrological, meteorological, and vegetation characteristic factors on ecological water consumption change is identified, and the key driving factors of ecological water consumption change are extracted, which lays a data foundation for ecological water consumption prediction based on machine learning. The economic water consumption based on eco-environmental water consumption in Yanhe River Basin in the future is predicted (including water demand in three aspects of industry, agriculture, and life); that is, the prediction is to meet the economic water demand on the basis of ensuring that the water consumption of ecological environment will not be occupied, which can effectively ensure the improvement of ecological environment function in Yanhe River Basin and is conducive to the sustainable utilization of water resources in Yanhe River Basin. The research is only based on a small watershed such as Yanhe River Basin, and the purpose of the research is to provide a reference for ecological environment protection and sustainable utilization of water resources in the Loess Plateau, even in the arid, semiarid, and semihumid areas of North China. MYB proteins are one of the most abundant transcription factor families in the plant kingdom. Evidence has increasingly revealed that MYB-related proteins function in diverse plant biological processes. However, little is known about the genome-wide characterization and functions of MYB-related proteins in Populus, an important model and commercial tree species. In this study, 152 PtrMYBRs were identified and unevenly located on 19 Populus chromosomes. A phylogenetic analysis divided them into six major subgroups, supported by conserved gene organization, consensus motifs, and protein domain architecture. Promoter assessment and gene ontology classification results indicated that the MYB-related family is likely involved in plant development and responses to various environmental stressors. The Populus MYB-related family members showed various expression patterns in different tissues and stress conditions, implying their crucial roles in the development and stress responses in Populus. Co-expression analyses revealed that Populus MYB-related genes might participate in the regulation of antioxidant defense system and various signaling pathways in response to stress. The three-dimensional structures of different subgroup of Populus MYB-related proteins further provided functional information at the proteomic level. Individuals infected by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are under oxidative stress due to the imbalance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and elimination. This paper presents a mathematical model with the cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) immune response to examine the role of ROS in the dynamics of HIV infection. We classify the equilibria of the model and study the stability of these equilibria. Numerical simulations show that incorporating ROS and CTL immune response into the model leads to very rich dynamics, including bistable phenomena and periodic solutions. Although the current antiretroviral therapy can suppress viral load to the undetectable level, it cannot eradicate the virus. A high level of ROS may be a factor for HIV persistence in patients despite suppressive therapy. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine how preterm white matter injury (WMI) and long‐term thalamic growth interact to predict 8‐year neurodevelopmental outcomes. Methods: A prospective cohort of 114 children born at 24 to 32 weeksʼ gestational age (GA) underwent structural and diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging early in life (median 32 weeks), at term‐equivalent age and at 8 years. Manual segmentation of neonatal WMI was performed on T1‐weighted images and thalamic volumes were obtained using the MAGeT brain segmentation pipeline. Cognitive, motor, and visual‐motor outcomes were evaluated at 8 years of age. Multivariable regression was used to examine the relationship among neonatal WMI volume, school‐age thalamic volume, and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Results: School‐age thalamic volumes were predicted by neonatal thalamic growth rate, GA, sex, and neonatal WMI volume (p < 0.0001). After accounting for total cerebral volume, WMI volume remained associated with school‐age thalamic volume (β = −0.31, p = 0.005). In thalamocortical tracts, fractional anisotropy (FA) at term‐equivalent age interacted with early WMI volume to predict school‐age thalamic volumes (all p < 0.02). School‐age thalamic volumes and neonatal WMI interacted to predict full‐scale IQ (p = 0.002) and adverse motor scores among those with significant WMI (p = 0.01). Visual‐motor scores were predicted by thalamic volumes (p = 0.04). Interpretation: In very preterm‐born children, neonatal thalamic growth and WMI volume predict school‐age thalamic volumes. The emergence at term of an interaction between FA and WMI to impact school‐age thalamic volume indicates dysmaturation as a mechanism of thalamic growth failure. Cognition is predicted by the interaction of WMI and thalamic growth, highlighting the need to consider multiple dimensions of brain injury in these children. Fibrocytes originate from the bone marrow monocyte lineage and participate in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis. Research providing a comprehensive picture of fibrocytes is still limited. Cofilin-1 (CFL-1) is an important protein that regulates cell proliferation, migration and differentiation. Whether CFL-1 can induce monocyte differentiation into fibrocytes and promote the process of pulmonary fibrosis is unknown. Compared with that of healthy controls, the expression of CFL-1 was significantly increased in the plasma and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD) patients (P < 0.05). The percentages of peripheral blood fibrocytes in the IPF group (4.2550 ± 0.3483%) and CTD-ILD group (4.7100 ± 0.4811%) were higher than that in the control group (1.6340 ± 0.2549%) (both P < 0.05). In vitro, PBMCs transfected with siRNA-CFL-1 showed lower expression of CFL-1, and the percentage of fibrocytes was lower than that of the control (P < 0.05). PBMCs transfected with Lv-CFL-1 to increase the expression of CFL-1 showed a higher percentage of fibrocytes than the control (P < 0.05). In mice with bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis, the relative expression of CFL-1 was increased, and the percentage of fibrocytes was higher than that in the saline group (P < 0.05). In bleomycin-induced mice, interference with Lv-CFL-1 decreased the expression of CFL-1, the percentage of fibrocytes was lower, and the lung tissue showed less fibrosis (P < 0.05). The overexpression of CFL-1 is associated with pulmonary fibrogenesis. This study aimed to investigate the moment carrying behavior of typical Tibetan timber beam-column joints under monotonic vertical static load and also evaluate the influence of length ratio of Gongmu to beam (LRGB) and dowels layout on the structural performance of the joint. Six full-scale specimens were fabricated with same construction but different Gongmu length and dowels position. The moment carrying performance of beam-column joints in terms of failure mode, moment resistance, and rotational stiffness of joints were obtained via monotonic loading tests. Test results indicated that all joints are characterized by compressive failure perpendicular to grain of Ludou. Additionally, it was found that greater LRGB leads to greater initial rotational stiffness and maximum moment of the joint by an increase of restraint length for beam end; however, offsetting dowels toward column resulted smaller stiffness and ultimate bending moment of joints, particularly, offsetting Beam-Gongmu dowels toward column changed the moment-rotation curve pattern of the beam-column joint, accompanied by a hardening stiffness at last phase. A novel ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor based on split aptamer and Au-reduced graphene oxide (Au-rGO) nanomaterials was proposed to detect aflatoxin M1 (AFM1). In this work, Au-rGO nanomaterials were coated on the electrode through the electrodeposition method to increase the aptamer enrichment. We split the aptamer of AFM1 into 2 sequences (S1 and S2), where S1 was immobilized on the electrode due to the Au-S bond, and S2 was tagged with methylene blue (MB) and acted as a response signal. A complementary strand to S1 (CS1) labeled with ferrocene (Fc) was introduced as another reporter. In the presence of AFM1, CS1 was released from the electrode surface due to the formation of the S1-AFM1-S2 complex, leading to a decrease in Fc and an increase in the MB signal. The developed ratiometric aptasensor exhibited a linear range of 0.03 μg L−1 to 2.00 μg L−1, with a detection limit of 0.015 μg L−1 for AFM1 detection. The ratiometric aptasensor also showed a linear relationship from 0.2 μg L−1 to 1.00 μg L−1, with a detection limit of 0.05 μg L−1 in natural milk after sample pretreatment, indicating the successful application of the developed ratiometric aptasensor. Matrix-associated mycotoxins that bind with macromolecular components through covalent or non-covalent interactions easily occur in various cereals, cereal-based products, and cereal-based feedstuff. They are "masked" by macro-components, causing the underestimation of total exposure risk of mycotoxins. Most of the current reports focus on the free and modified mycotoxins, while the matrix-associated forms are ignored but still can exert toxic effects after ingestion. In this paper, current researches and future prospects of matrix-associated mycotoxins are reviewed. Especially, a focus is set on the transformation of matrix-associated mycotoxins with their free forms during metabolism and food processing. Enzymes, temperature and pH levels during food processing can induce the interconversion of matrix-associated mycotoxins with free mycotoxins. Furthermore, the analytical methods targeted on matrix-associated mycotoxins are discussed. Due to the lack of efficient methods releasing the mycotoxins from matrix, the standard analytical methods has not developed so far. Also, we further analyzed the challenges of matrix-associated mycotoxins about variety, occurrence, toxicity and transformation, exposure assessment, which contributes to establish preventive measures to control their hazards for consumers. Exosomes are a subpopulation of the tumour microenvironment (TME) that transmit various biological molecules to promote intercellular communication. Exosomes are derived from nearly all types of cells and exist in all body fluids. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) are among the most abundant contents in exosomes, and some ncRNAs with biological functions are specifically packaged into exosomes. Recent studies have revealed that exosome-derived ncRNAs play crucial roles in the tumorigenesis, progression and drug resistance of gastric cancer (GC). In addition, regulating the expression levels of exosomal ncRNAs can promote or suppress GC progression. Moreover, the membrane structures of exosomes protect ncRNAs from degradation by enzymes and other chemical substances, significantly increasing the stability of exosomal ncRNAs. Specific hallmarks within exosomes that can be used for exosome identification, and specific contents can be used to determine their origin. Therefore, exosomal ncRNAs are suitable for use as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Regulating the biogenesis of exosomes and the expression levels of exosomal ncRNAs may represent a new way to block or eradicate GC. Magnetic nanomaterials have recently emerged, playing an increasingly essential role in life science and biomedicine fields, and they exhibited promising potentials in cancer diagnosis and therapy. Also, their use as contrast agents improved various cancer diagnostic imaging sensitivities and accuracy. Magnetic nanomaterials are also exploited as targeted drug carriers to increase the sensitivity and reduce the side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs. Genetics-associated asthenoteratozoospermia is often seen in patients with multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF). Although 24 causative genes have been identified, these explain only approximately half of patients with MMAF. Since sperm flagella and motile cilia (especially respiratory cilia) have similar axonemal structures, many patients with MMAF also exhibit respiratory symptoms, such as recurrent airway infection, chronic sinusitis, and bronchiectasis, which are frequently associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), another recessive disorder. Here, exome sequencing was conducted to evaluate the genetic cause in 53 patients with MMAF and classic PCD/PCD-like symptoms. Two homozygous missense variants and a compound-heterozygous variant in the BRWD1 gene were identified in three unrelated individuals. BRWD1 staining was detected in the whole flagella and respiratory cilia of normal controls but was absent in BRWD1-mutated individuals. Transmission electron microscopy and immunostaining demonstrated that BRWD1 deficiency in human affected respiratory cilia and sperm flagella differently, as the absence of outer and inner dynein arms in sperm flagellum and respiratory cilia, while with a decreased number and outer doublet microtubule defects of respiratory cilia. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a BRWD1-variant-related disease in humans, manifesting as an autosomal recessive form of MMAF and PCD/PCD-like symptoms.
