Sixty patients who underwent unilateral total knee arthroplasty and 60 patients who underwent posterior lumbar interbody fusion between March and May 2022 were recruited as the control stage. Additionally, a total of 120 patients, 60 of each, who underwent the two procedures between September and November 2022, were recruited as the experimental stage. For the control stage, conventional external equipment management was used, and for the experimental stage, an external device management programme was implemented based on multidisciplinary collaboration with the control stage. Based on the PDSA cycle, the configuration management of orthopaedic external device sets was optimised, and the differences in collating and counting external devices, nurses’ overtime in the external device stage and orthopaedic surgeon satisfaction were compared between the two stages.Results: Compared with the control stage, the collation count took less time (8.65 ± 0.25 min vs 5.37 ± 0.13 min; 13.55 ± 1.10 min vs 7.85 ± 0.82 min), the number of overtime hours was shorter (175.80 ± 12.19 min vs 96.68 ± 13.66 min) and orthopaedic surgeon satisfaction was improved (4.58 ± 0.62 vs 4.10 ± 0.68; 4.33 ± 0.73 vs 3.87 ± 0.77; 4.20 ± 0.71 vs 3.82 ± 0.71; 4.12 ± 0.69 vs 3.87 ± 0.72; 4.05 ± 0.68 vs 3.79 ± 0.68) in the

Abstract

This paper presents a basic structure combined with a film and a substrate to investigate the damage and deformation of thin films and to predict the life time of MEMS.The bifurcation and fracture of thin films under a tensive load were determined by an experiment where the film/substrate structure was used as the specimen.The substrate was a deposited aluminium film with different thicknesses of 100,150 and 200 nm.Then the experiment was initiated using our designed loading device.An OLYMPUS microscope was used to observe the change of the topography of the film surface.The destruction of the film and the corresponding sizes of the load and displacement were recorded.Finally,the effects of film thickness on bifurcation and fracture were obtained by comparing experimental results.These show that the relevant rupture strain increases with the film thickness and the crack density along the loading direction depends on the thickness of the film and the failure stain when there are cracks appear on the film surface.

10. Mixed forced-vibration testing method for identifying aerodynamic derivatives of parallel separated double-deck bridges.

Abstract

When identifying the aerodynamic derivatives of parallel separated double-deck bridges using free-vibration testing method (FreeV method), the different initial manual excitations produce different aerodynamic interference between two sectional models, which cause the identification results are always significant discrete and irregular. Therefore, the mixed forced-vibration testing method (MFV method) is proposed in this article. The aerodynamic derivatives identified by FreeV method and MFV method are compared and analysed. The flutter analysis results based on the FreeV and MFV method are also in contrast with the test results. Research results show that, no matter the windward deck or the leeward deck, the aerodynamic derivatives identified by MFV method put up to small dispersions and good laws of variation with reduced wind speed. However, the aerodynamic derivatives obtained by FreeV method show larger dispersions and worse variation laws, especially those of the leeward deck which suffered from aerodynamic interference seriously. Furthermore, the flutter critical wind speeds calculated based on the MFV method are rather close to the test results, whereas those based on the FreeV method have a big discrepancies with the test results, especially those of leeward bridge. In contrast with the FreeV method, the MFV method could simulate the aerodynamic interference effect rationally and the flutter prediction results are more accurate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
