The bond behavior of CFRP-concrete interface is the analysis foundation for concrete structures with external strengthening CFRP. In the paper, the influences of the thickness of CFRP plate and adhesive layer on interfacial adhesive properties are investigated through the finite element program. The influence rules of the thickness on the interfacial ultimate bearing capacity and the effective bond length are performed. The results show that the thickness of adhesive layer and CFRP plate has a significant effect on the interfacial performance of CFRP-concrete.

In the research, the effects of sea water for mixing, curing on the gain in strength of different grades of concrete was investigated. A total of 192 concrete cubes were tested for their compressive strength. The study shows that sea water affects the rate of gain in strength of concrete when used for mixing or curing. The strength of concrete made by using sea water was observed to be decreased by about 15% as compared to the similar concrete specimens made and cured with fresh water at 90 days. The concrete with higher strength showed poorer resistance against strength deterioration as compared to the lower strength concrete which used sea water for curing. And the concrete made with sea water decreased the stability of concrete properties.

Porcine bocavirus (PBoV), classified within the genus Bocaparvovirus, has been reported worldwide. PBoV has been divided into group 1, group 2, and group 3. PBoV group 3 (G3) viruses are the most prevalent in China. Currently, effective serological methods for the detection of antibodies against PBoV G3 are limited. In this study, we developed an indirect ELISA using a synthetic VP1 peptide designed on the basis of the conserved region of the PBoV VP1 protein as a coating antigen. Through matrix titration, the optimal coating concentration of the VP1 peptide (0.5 μg/mL), serum dilution (1:200), and working concentration of the secondary antibody (1:50,000) were determined. The cutoff value of this developed ELISA was set as 0.4239. Further investigations revealed that this developed ELISA had no cross-reactivity with positive serum antibodies against FMDV-O, FMDV-A, PRV, ASFV, SF, PCV2, PEDV, and TGEV. The detection limit of the method was a 1:1600 dilution of standard positive serum against PBoV G3. The coefficients of variation for both the intra- and interassay data were lower than 10%. A total of 1373 serum samples collected from 12 provinces in China between 2022 and 2023 were subjected to indirect ELISA. The results showed that 47.56% of the samples were PBoV G3 positive. These results reveal that peptide-based ELISA is a reliable and cost-effective method for detecting PBoV G3 antibodies. The CYP450 enzyme is a superfamily enzyme ubiquitously found in nearly all organisms, playing a vital role in the metabolism of both endogenous and exogenous compounds, and in biosynthesis. Unfortunately, an understanding of its classification, functions, expression characteristics, and other biological traits in Hyalomma asiaticum, a vector for Crimean–Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, as well as of the genes implicated in its natural product metabolism, is lacking. Towards this end, this study has identified 120 H. asiaticum CYP450 genes via transcriptome data in the face of a joint genome threat from terpinolene. The proteins these genes encode are of higher molecular weight, devoid of a signal peptide, and composed of unstable hydrophobic proteins principally containing 1–3 variable transmembrane regions. Phylogenetic evolution classifies these H. asiaticum CYP450 genes into four subfamilies. These genes all encompass complete CYP450 conserved domains, and five specific conserved motifs, albeit with different expression levels. GO and KEGG annotation findings suggest a widespread distribution of these CYP450 genes in many physiological systems, predominantly facilitating lipid metabolism, terpenoid compound metabolism, and polyketone compound metabolism, as well as cofactor and vitamin metabolism at a cellular level. Molecular docking results reveal a hydrophobic interaction between the ARG-103, ARG-104, LEU-106, PHE-109, and ILE-119 amino acid residues in CYP3A8, which is primarily expressed in the fat body, and terpinolene, with a notably up-regulated expression, with affinity = −5.6 kcal/mol. The conservation of these five key amino acid residues varies across 12 tick species, implying differences in terpinolene metabolism efficacy among various tick species. This study thereby fills an existing knowledge gap regarding the biological characteristics of H. asiaticum CYP450 genes and paves the way for further research into the functions of these particular genes. Comprehensive Summary: Real‐time on‐site monitoring of resorcinol (RS) concentrations is crucial for detecting hazardous levels, enabling prompt response measures to mitigate potential environmental and health risks. In this study, we developed an innovative method using CoNi@CN‐2 nanozymes to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for oxidizing 3,3',5,5'‐tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Our results show that the formation of Ni2+ through the oxidation of Ni0 on the CoNi@CN‐2 surface significantly enhances the electron‐donating capacity of Co0. The catalytic reaction of TMB is mediated by redox active species (SO4•−, •O2−, •OH and 1O2). RS drives colorimetry by transferring electrons to the benzene ring and specific nitrogen atoms in ox‐TMB, reducing ox‐TMB to TMB. Furthermore, the colorimetric assay shows a robust linear correlation between RS concentration and absorbance (Abs), described by Abs = –0.44[RS] + 0.886 (0—200 μmol/L, R2 = 0.983). Also, we introduce a novel smartphone‐integrated autonomous detection software that can analyze RS concentration and grayscale values (GSV), yielding GSV = 0.327[RS] + 63.601 (0—200 μmol/L, R2 = 0.990) with a detection limit of 5.29 μmol/L. Additionally, excess PMS leads to ROS attacking specific sites in ox‐TMB, forming secondary oxidation products. Simple Summary: Plant sugars have a good effect on promoting animal body development and immune function. This study confirmed that AHAS feeding in unweaned lambs can effectively promote the growth performance of lambs, enhance antioxidant activity, promote the secretion of antibodies and cytokines, increase the abundance of intestinal beneficial bacteria, reduce the number of harmful bacteria, and effectively promote the secretion of intestinal short-chain fatty acids. The present study was designed to assess the impact of Alhagi honey small-molecule sugars (AHAS) on Hu lambs. Therefore, in this study, AHAS low-dose (AHAS-L, 200 mg/ kg per day), AHAS medium-dose (AHAS-M, 400 mg/kg per day), and AHAS high-dose (AHAS-H, 800 mg/kg per day) were administered to Hu lambs to investigate the regulatory effects of AHAS on growth performance, oxidation index, immune system enhancement, and intestinal microbiota. The results showed that lambs in the AHAS-H group exhibited significantly increased in average daily weight gain, and growth performance compared to those in the control group (p < 0.05). Moreover, AHAS-H supplementation resulted in increased levels of serum antioxidant enzymes (SOD, GSH-Px, and T-AOC), serum antibodies (IgA, IgG, and IgM), and cytokines (IL-4, 10,17, IFN-γ, and TNF-α) compared with the control group (p < 0.05). Additionally, it increased the quantity and richness of beneficial bacteria at such as Sphingomonas, Ralstonia, and Flavobacterium, activating various metabolic pathways and promoting the production of various short-chain fatty acids. In summary, our findings highlight the potential of AHAS-H treatment in enhancing intestinal health of lambs by improving intestinal function, immunity, and related metabolic pathways. The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang) borders eight countries and has a complex geographic environment. There are almost 45.696 million herded sheep in Xinjiang, which occupies 13.80% of China's sheep farming industry. However, there is a scarcity of reports investigating the role of sheep or ticks in Xinjiang in transmitting tick-borne diseases (TBDs). A total of 894 ticks (298 tick pools) were collected from sheep in southern Xinjiang. Out of the 298 tick pools investigated in this study, Rhipicephalus turanicus (Rh. turanicus) and Hyalomma anatolicum (H. anatolicum) were identified through morphological and molecular sequencing. In the southern part of Xinjiang, 142 (47.65%), 86 (28.86%), and 60 (20.13%) tick pools were positive for Rickettsia spp., Theileria spp., and Anaplasma spp., respectively. Interestingly, the infection rate of Rickettsia spp. (73%, 35.10%, and 28.56–41.64%) was higher in Rh. turanicus pools than in H. anatolicum pools (4%, 4.44%, and 0.10–8.79%) in this study. Fifty-one tick pools were found to harbor two pathogens, while nineteen tick pools were detected to have the three pathogens. Our findings indicate the presence of Rickettsia spp., Theileria spp., and Anaplasma spp. potentially transmitted by H. anatolicum and Rh. turanicus in sheep in southern Xinjiang, China. Simple Summary: Rotavirus is an increasingly widespread zoonotic agent, the segmented feature of rotavirus genome is responsible for the emergence of new diverse viruses and inter-species transmission. Therefore, monitoring the genetic diversity of rotavirus is helpful to understand its evolution. In this study, a novel potential zoonotic G4P[6] rotavirus with a 344-nt duplication sequence in the non-encoding gene of NSP5 was for the first time detected in a diarrhoea pig sample collected from Guangdong Province, China. Further genome analyses revealed genome reassortment between human-origin and porcine-origin rotavirus. Rotavirus is a major causative agent of diarrhoea in children, infants, and young animals around the world. The associated zoonotic risk necessitates the serious consideration of the complete genetic information of rotavirus. A segmented genome makes rotavirus prone to rearrangement and the formation of a new viral strain. Monitoring the molecular epidemiology of rotavirus is essential for its prevention and control. The quantitative RT-PCR targeting the NSP5 gene was used to detect rotavirus group A (RVA) in pig faecal samples, and two pairs of universal primers and protocols were used for amplifying the G and P genotype. The genotyping and phylogenetic analysis of 11 genes were performed by RT-PCR and a basic bioinformatics method. A unique G4P[6] rotavirus strain, designated S2CF (RVA/Pig-tc/CHN/S2CF/2023/G4P[6]), was identified in one faecal sample from a piglet with severe diarrhoea in Guangdong, China. Whole genome sequencing and analysis suggested that the 11 segments of the S2CF strain showed a unique Wa-like genotype constellation and a typical porcine RVA genomic configuration of G4-P[6]-I1-R1-C1-M1-A8-N1-T1-E1-H1. Notably, 4 of the 11 gene segments (VP4, VP6, VP2, and NSP5) clustered consistently with human-like RVAs, suggesting independent human-to-porcine interspecies transmission. Moreover, a unique 344-nt duplicated sequence was identified for the first time in the untranslated region of NSP5. Objective: To explore the accuracy related to type and subtype between frozen section (FS) results and final pathology results in patients with endometrial cancer and to suggest whether it should be routinely performed. Methods: Retrospective data were collected from 184 patients with endometrial cancer who underwent surgery at a single center (January 2014–December 2018). FS results were compared with the final pathology results with respect to histotype, tumor grade, and depth of invasion to define the accuracy of FS analysis. Results: Frozen section analysis was performed in 141 (76.6%) patients. The accuracy rates and κ values between the FS and final pathology results with respect to histotype, tumor grade, and depth of invasion were 87.23%, 81.15%, and 98.2% and 0.41, 0.7, and 0.9, respectively (P < 0.001). Among the 18 patients with preoperative non‐endometrioid cancer (non‐EC), six underwent FS analysis, and final pathology confirmed EC in three, of whom 75% were detected by FS analysis. Eight of 19 patients with preoperative grade 3 EC underwent FS analysis and the accuracy rate was 87.5%. Conclusion: Intraoperative FS analysis is a reliable method that can help intraoperative decision making. It should be performed routinely in patients with non‐EC and grade 3 EC. Lack of post-yield stiffness and corrosion resistance could inevitably result in a considerable loss of seismic performance for steel reinforced concrete (RC) piers. Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement can provide high tensile strength and protection from corrosion. To achieve a better post-yield stiffness and durability for piers, FRP/steel double-reinforced configurations were designed by the proposed flexural-capacity design method. A seismic fragility assessment was also conducted to investigate the effectiveness of design parameters, namely the ultimate tensile strength of FRP reinforcement, elastic modulus of FRP reinforcement, and ratio of steel reinforcement for a double-reinforced configuration to that for a steel RC configuration ( ρ steel / ρ prototype ). The results demonstrated that the FRP/steel double-reinforced piers satisfied the mentioned objectives, while the fragility of these piers was a 30.2% less than that of conventional steel RC piers. A 79.9% higher median PGA at the collapse damage state was achieved, when the elastic modulus of FRP reinforcement changed from 164 to 80.7 GPa. An increase in the median PGA of 34.8% can be achieved along with the increase of the ultimate tensile strength of FRP reinforcement. When ρ steel / ρ prototype was approximately 66%, FRP reinforcement exhibited the highest effectiveness on the seismic performance of piers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
