Production of quality bitumen from less suitable/non bitumen bearing crudes continues to be a challenging task for the refineries. Blending of short residues prior to processing is helpful to a limited extent. Generation of asphaltics low in wax through appropriate processing and their conversion to quality bitumen in admixture with suitable fluxes appears more practical approach. It is described with the help of experimental results. La production de bitume de qualité à partir de bruts contenant peu ou pas du tout de bitume naturel demeure une tâche difficile pour les raffineurs. Le problème est dû au déséquilibre de certains constituants des hydrocarbures, à savoir : les asphaltènes et les malthènes, composés de résines, de fractions aromatiques, de fractions naphténiques et de paraffine. Le traitement de ces matières premières ne permet pas d'obtenir des bitumes possédant des propriétés rhéologiques et physiques acceptables à haute et basse température. En fait, ces produits de base ont tantôt une teneur insuffisante en asphaltènes, tantôt une teneur excessive en paraffine, et parfois même les deux défauts. De plus, les matières premières à base paraffinique ont une forte densité API et une faible teneur en soufre. Le traitement des résidus de ces bruts doit donc être effectué par un procédé capable d'améliorer leurs propriétés et d'obtenir un bitume possédant les mêmes qualités que ceux que l'on tire des bruts bitumineux, comme ceux du Moyen Orient. La méthode préconisée par Ditman est peut-être la première tentative pour extraire des bitumes à partir des bruts à base paraffinique provenant d'Afrique du Nord. Les données ci-dessus et les expériences effectuées par les auteurs permettent de proposer les deux voies suivantes pour la production de bitumes de qualité à partir de résidus de bruts impropres : a) Désalphatage des résidus courts. b) Distillation des résidus courts sous pression très réduite (distillation poussée). Les produits asphaltiques obtenus par le premier procédé ont une faible teneur en paraffine mais ils sont durs (faible pénétration) et cassants. Il peuvent être transformés en bitumes de qualité par mélange avec des agents de fluxage appropriés. La distillation sous pression très réduite élimine à moindre coût l'huile et la paraffine des résidus courts, sous une température aussi basse que possible ; il ne reste que des résidus à teneur faible en paraffine, un peu plus forte en asphaltènes, et à faible pénétration. Tout comme les asphaltènes PDA (analyse différentielle de pression) provenant de distillats de craquage, ces résidus sont ensuite mélangés et traités avec des agents de fluxage appropriés pour donner des bitumes de qualité. Ces deux procédés sont envisages pour la transformation des résidus courts issus du traitement des bruts d'Assam en bitumes de qualité. On trouvera ci-après le résumé des données correspondant au procédé d'obtention des asphaltènes à partir de distillats de craquage (PDA). L'article décrit les deux méthodes ci-dessus et les résultats obtenus, en particulier pour ce qui concerne les spécifications courantes du bitume.

An attempt has been made to understand the effect of entrance-channel parameters on low-energy incomplete fusion and a strong projectile dependence in terms of projectile’s α-Q-value has been observed. In the present work, the excitation functions of 16O,13,12C+159Tb systems have been measured and compared with PACE4 predictions to study the involvement of different reaction processes. The strength of incomplete fusion reactions for all the studied systems have been extraced and compared to find out the systematics.

Aiming to investigate the presence of incomplete fusion at low projectile energies, experiments have been carried out using light heavy-ion (A ≤ 16) beams at ≈ 4-7 MeV/nucleon. Excitation functions, forward recoil ranges, and spin-distributions of heavy reaction products have been measured. In order to have an insight into the influence of incomplete fusion on complete fusion, percentage fraction of incomplete fusion has been deduced from the experimentally measured excitation functions. However, the proof of fractional linearmomentum transfer in case of incomplete fusion has been obtained from the measurement of forward recoil ranges of heavy reaction products. A piece of information on driving angular momenta involved in the production of xn/pxn/αxn/2αxn-channels has been obtained from the analysis of experimentally measured spin-distributions. Results presented in this paper strongly suggest that incomplete fusion is a process of greater importance at energies ≈ 4-7 MeV/nucleon and can selectively populate high spin states in final reaction products.

This paper studies an infinite-buffer single server queueing model with negative customers and disasters. The ordinary (positive) customers arrive in the system according to the batch Markovian arrival process and join the queue for service. The negative customer and disaster are characterized by two independent Markovian arrival processes. A negative customer removes the positive customer undergoing service, if any, and a disaster makes the system empty by simultaneously removing all the positive customers present in the system. We obtain the steady-state vector generating function (VGF) of the distribution of the number of positive customers in the system at arbitrary epoch. Further, the inversion of the VGF is carried out using the roots method to obtain the distribution. Moreover, the probability vectors at post-departure and pre-arrival epochs are also obtained. The results obtained throughout the analysis are computationally tractable, as illustrated by few numerical examples. Finally, we discuss the impact of the correlation of the arrival process of negative customers and disasters on the performance of the system through some graphical representations. The present paper investigates the effect of vertical magnetic field and dust particles on the stability of a micropolar fluid layer heated and soluted from below. The Lorentz force term is introduced due to the presence of a magnetic field, which gives rise to oscillatory motions in the system. The other reason for the introduction of overstable motions is the coupling between micropolar and thermosolutal effects. The normal mode technique, along with the Boussinesq approximation is used to derive the dispersion relation. The thermal Rayleigh number is found for both types of convections and it is observed that it is more for stationary motions than for oscillatory motions; except for high values of the suspended particles factor. The effect of solute Rayleigh number and Chandrasekhar number is to stabilize the micropolar fluid layer while dust particles hasten the onset of convection. Interestingly, as the suspended particle factor increases, the mode of instability shifts from overstability to stationary convection. The effect of micropolar coefficient of coupling is found to stabilize the fluid-particle layer for stationary convection. Nous introduisons la force de Lorentz pour tenir compte du champ magnetique qui cause des mouvements oscillants du systeme. L'autre raison pour introduire des mouvements surstables est le couplage entre les effets micro-polaire et thermosolutal. Nous utilisons la technique du mode normal avec l'approximation de Boussinesq pour obtenir la relation de dispersion. Le nombre thermique de Rayleigh est obtenu pour les deux types de convection et nous observons une plus grande stabilite en mouvement stationnaire plutot qu'oscillant, excepte dans le cas des hautes valeurs de particules en suspension. L'effet du nombre de Rayleigh et du nombre de Chandrasekhar est de stabiliser le fluide micro-polaire, alors que les particules en suspension provoquent la convection. Il est interessant de constater que lorsque les particules en suspension augmentent, le mode d'instabilite passe de la surstabilite a la convection stationnaire. Nous trouvons que le coefficient micro-polaire de couplage stabilise la couche fluide-particules pour la convection stationnaire. In the competitive business world, the whole thing is in a state of flux. It is not possible to know the exact outcomes of the strategies adopted by a company. Companies are always unsure of the customer's responses regarding their strategies, and the judgment of the decision-makers is correct to some extent but not always exact. To avoid erroneous estimations, the companies generally preferred the opinion of more than one expert. It is highly understood that no two experts will describe the similar payoffs for a mix of strategies used. Therefore, the payoff matrices, given by a group of experts, provide more information to select the best strategies for the companies. This paper presents an approach to solving bimatrix game problems with multiple experts in an intuitionistic fuzzy environment.
