El presente estudio se realizó durante la pandemia generada por COVID-19, que se originó en la República de China a finales del año 2019 y se ha dispersado por todo el mundo desde entonces. Tomando registros oficiales de información de tipo demográfica, ambiental y epidemiológica en El Salvador, se realizó este estudio con el objetivo de desarrollar un proceso cuantitativo y cualitativo que demuestre las variaciones de casos de contagio por COVID-19 como consecuencia de la pandemia. Se basó en tres factores, entre ellos la variable ambiental; ya que este puede ser un agente que regula la movilidad de los vectores de la pandemia. Además, se demuestra la importancia del uso de sistemas de información geográfica y satelital, los cuales permiten un análisis más completo ante las problemáticas de salud a nivel nacional, regional o mundial. Lo anterior, particularmente en la toma de decisiones de políticas públicas sanitarias, ya que se ha evidenciado la carencia de conocimiento para la toma de decisiones ante esta nueva pandemia. El producto más sustancial de esta investigación es un mapa temático de impacto de la pandemia a nivel de país dividido por municipios, donde demuestra que las urbes de mayor densidad poblacional y menor calidad ambiental son las que se han visto más afectadas. Por lo que a futuro es necesario no centralizar toda la actividad económica en pocos lugares. Además, resalta la importancia de los ambientes que existen en cada municipio para el bienestar de las personas. Finalmente, se realiza un análisis estadístico por medio del árbol de decisión que sustenta lo antes mencionado.

We present a sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) case report in a 60 year-old-woman. SANT is an extremely rare benign disease of the spleen that it is radiologically similar to malignant tumors, and clinically difficult to differentiate from other splenic diseases. Splenectomy is both diagnostic and therapeutic in symptomatic cases. The analysis of the resected spleen is necessary to achieve the final diagnosis of SANT.

Recently, there has been increased interest in container blueberry production as a viable alternative to open-field blueberry planting. Container production of blueberries offers numerous advantages, among these, a lack of limitation by suboptimal soil conditions in the open field and the ability to control substrate pH, drainage, and organic matter. The photosynthetic response for three container-grown Southern highbush blueberry (interspecific Vaccinium hybrids) cultivars including 'Jewel', 'Meadowlark', and 'Victoria' and a rabbiteye blueberry ( Vaccinium virgatum ) 'Baldwin', were measured during the spring and summer of 2022. It was hypothesized that the three cultivars evaluated would have different photosynthetic responses. The objective of this study was to determine the photosynthetic activity of different blueberry cultivars during the first year of crop establishment. A series of measurements were conducted every 2 h throughout the day and for different dates using a gas exchange data analyzer on newly matured fully expanded leaves located in the top middle section of the canopy for each cultivar. The response curves showed that net photosynthesis (A) became saturated at moderate light, with saturation occurring at a photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) of 1932 µmol m -2 s -1 . At this point, the rate of CO 2 assimilation was approximately 16.84 µmol CO 2 m -2 s -1 . No differences in (A) were found among cultivars. Overall, the attained values of photosynthesis provide a strong conceptual basis for understanding the cultivar variation response when grown in containers; therefore, the containerized system may serve as a production system for early fruiting blueberries in Alabama, USA.

In order to evaluate the environmental performance generated by a "semi-technified" pig farm, as well as the comparison of different pig production scenarios, pig feed and animal production subsystems were evaluated considering both: (a) origin of feed ingredients and (b) variations in pig weight. Life cycle assessment methodology was used to evaluate the environmental performance, establishing 1 market pig as the functional unit (FU). Three ingredient origin distances (400, 950, and 1800 km) and three slaughter weights (110, 100, and 90 kg) were considered for the simulation analysis and comparison. The feed production subsystem was the main generator of environmental impacts, mainly caused by the cultivation of sorghum and the production of fat. The origin of the inputs represented the main increase in environmental impact for the feed production subsystem, mainly in the Fossil Depletion category, with a fivefold increase by acquiring inputs from 900 km and a ninefold increase at a distance of 1800 km. Producing lighter pigs resulted in the best environmental alternative, given the resultant 11% reduction in environmental impact., (© 2022. Background: The Service Quality in Hospital (SERVQHOS) assesses quality and satisfaction with hospital care received. This study aimed to determine the quality and satisfaction of parents in a tertiary-level pediatric public facility in Mexico., Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in which 425 anonymous surveys were distributed during the discharge of children. The questionnaire evaluates the individual (subjective) and organizational (objective) quality of service: reliability, tangibles, assurance, responsiveness, and empathy, as well as satisfaction on a 5-point scale from 1 (much worse) to 5 (much better)., Results: A total of 401 questionnaires were returned (94%). The mean quality score was 3.6 ± 0.7. The best-rated aspects were the medical equipment technology (3.6 + 0.8), the confidence that the staff transmits to patients (3.6 ± 0.8), and the friendliness of the staff when attending patients (3.6 ± 0.8). The worst-rated aspects were the condition of the rooms (3.4 ± 0.8), the waiting time to be attended by a physician (3.3 ± 0.8), and the timeliness of internal consultations (3.3 ± 0.8). The overall population rated as satisfied in 97% of cases., Conclusions: A high rate of satisfaction was observed concerning both objective and subjective factors. However, the negative aspects of objective quality, such as reliability, should be addressed organizationally without implying economic investment in their resolution., (Copyright: © 2021 Permanyer.)

Background: The present study aimed to describe the evolution of hemodynamic parameters over time of patients with invasive placentation during their third trimester who were delivered via cesarean section and subsequently underwent obstetric hysterectomy under epidural anesthesia., Methods: A prospective, descriptive, longitudinal, 11-month cohort study of 43 patients aged between 18 and 37 years who presented with invasive placentation. Minimal invasive monitoring was placed before the administration of epidural anesthesia for hemodynamic parameter tracking during the cesarean section. After delivery, the patients underwent an obstetric hysterectomy. Blood loss, hemodynamic parameters, and coagulation were managed via goal-directed therapy. Parameters were compared via repeated measures ANOVA and effect size estimation (Cohen's d)., Results: The mean age of the patients was 29.2 ± 3.4 years and was moderately overweight. They had minor cardiac index variance ( P =NS, no significance), vascular systemic resistance index (NS), heart rate ( P =NS), and median arterial pressure ( P =NS). Differences were observed in the stroke volume index ( P =0.015) due to moderately higher values ( d  = 0.3, P =0.016) in the middle of the surgery. Patients had lower cardiac index ( d  = -0.36, NS) and cardiac workload requirements ( d  = -0.29, P =0.034) toward the completion of surgery., Conclusion: Patients who are in their third trimester and who subsequently underwent obstetric hysterectomy under epidural anesthesia had modest surgical hemodynamic variance and reduced cardiac workload requirements toward the end of the surgery., Competing Interests: None of the authors of this paper have a financial or personal relationship with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence or bias the content of the article., (Copyright © 2020 S. The complex environment within a crop canopy leads to a high variability of the air temperature within the canopy, and, therefore, air temperature measured at a weather station (WS) does not represent the internal energy within a crop. The objectives of this study were to quantify the difference between the air temperature measured at a standard WS and the air temperature within a six-year-old vineyard (cv. Chardonnay) and to determine the degree of uncertainty associated with the assumption that there is no difference between the two temperatures when air temperature is used as input in grapevine models. Thermistors and thermocouples were installed within the vine canopy at heights of 0.5 m and 1.2 m above the soil surface and immediately adjacent to the berry clusters. In the middle of the clusters sensors were installed to determine the temperature of the air surrounding the clusters facing east and west. The data were recorded within the canopy from December 2015 to June 2017 as well as at the standard WS that was installed close to the vineyard (410 m). Significant differences were found between the air temperatures measured at the WS and those within the vineyard during the summer when the average daily minimum air temperature within the canopy was 1.2°C less than at the WS and the average daily maximum air temperature in the canopy was 2.0°C higher than at the WS. The mean maximum air temperature measured in the clusters facing east was 1.5°C higher and west 4.0°C higher than the temperature measured at the WS. Therefore, models that assume that air temperature measured at a weather station is similar to air temperature measured in the vineyard canopy could have greater uncertainty than models that consider the temperature within the canopy., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.

Objective: Cervical carcinoma (CC) is the second cause of death among women aged 15 and 44 in Spain. CC is linked to hig-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) infection and its prevalence varies according age and geographical region. The awereness of the latter is essential for public health prevention efforts. The aim was to study the age related in HR-HPV genotypes in cytologies with squamous intraepithelial lesion (SIL)., Methods: From a total of 67,935 ginecologic cytologies over a four-year period, we selected cytologic specimens with SIL. We used the Cervista® test to detect HR-HPV DNA. Women were classified into two groups under 35 and over 35 years old. Proportions were estimated with confidence intervals at 95% (95% CI)., Results: HR-HPV prevalence was 59,7%; 64,6% in women under 35 years old. HR-HPV species alpha 9 type 16 (HR-HPV 16) and alpha 5 type 51 (HR-HPV 51) were the most prevalent (60,9% and 51,7%). High-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (H-SIL) were twice as high in women under 35 years (6,5 vs. 3,7%). 88,8% of H-SIL was associated HR-HPV 16, which increases the probability of H-SIL against Low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (L-SIL) regardless of age., Conclusions: In our population HR-HPV 16 was associated to H-SIL whereas HR-HPV specie alpha 7 type 18 and HR-HPV 51 to L-SIL regardless of age. The high prevalence of HR-HPV 51 in Navrra´s population (51,7%), suggests that local vaccination programs be re-assessed.

Introduction: Suicidal behavior shows high numbers in prison population; hence, the following research was developed, which aimed to identify the sociodemographic, family, personal and imprisonment factors that are associated with suicidal ideation in inmates of a prison of Antioquia, Colombia., Material and Methods: A cross descriptive study was carried out. It was applied the Suicide Orientation Inventory Test ISO-30, as well as a survey, in order to investigate sociodemographic, family and imprisonment aspects of a group of 154 inmates. Univariate and bivariate analysis were applied to the collected data by using Excel and OpenEpi programs., Results: 14.9% had high suicidal ideation. By analyzing the distribution of high suicidal ideation in the variables studied, it was found that the highest rates occurred in those who had previous attempts, 61.1%; a history of domestic violence, 50.0%; no schooling, 33.3%; those with a family history of suicide, 28.6%; and those without a definite sentence 22.9%. A significant association was found between the ideation and having committed previous suicide attempts (P<.01; rp=7.4), belonging to households with domestic violence (P=.03; rp=4.0), being single (P=.04; rp=2.2) and being under 30 years old (P=.04; rp=2.1)., Conclusions: The high suicidal rates are much greater than those found in the general population; it is therefore recommended to the professionals of the institution to address the risk factors found here, in order to develop prevention and intervention programs., (Copyright © 2014 Asociación Colombiana de Psiquiatría. Introduction: International studies show that both the pattern of health and the healthcare provided for persons with intellectual disability (ID) and the general population are different., Aims: To obtain data about the state of health of persons with ID and to compare them with data about the general population., Patients and Methods: The P15 set of health indicators was used in a sample of 111 subjects with ID. The health data that were found were compared according to the subjects' type of residence and the 2006 National Health Survey was used to compare these data with those for the general population. RESULTS; The sample with ID presented 25 times more cases of epilepsy and twice as many cases of obesity. Twenty per cent presented pain in the mouth and the presence of sensory and mobility problems, as well as psychosis, was high. We also found, however, a low presence of pathologies like diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. They also displayed a lower rate of participation in prevention and health promotion programmes, a higher number of hospital admissions and a lower usage of emergency services., Conclusions: The pattern of health of persons with ID differs from that of the general population, and they use healthcare services differently. It is important to develop programmes of health promotion and professional training that are specifically designed to attend to the needs of persons with ID. Likewise, it is also necessary to implement health surveys that include data about this population.

The prevalence of Bacillus cereus, in a total of 381 samples of dried milk products (milk with rice, milk substitute, milk powder, milk-cereal-rice, pudding milk, flan, and mousse) used by the Chilean School Feeding Program, was investigated. The potential of 94 selected isolates of B. cereus to produce diarrhoeal enterotoxin (by the BCET-RPLA test) in BHI culture, as well as the ability of enterotoxigenic-strains to grow at psychrotrophic temperatures were also verified. B. cereus was found in 175 of 381 of the samples analysed (45.9%), reaching levels from 3.0 to 10(4) spores g(-1). As expected, the higher prevalence and counts were observed in those products that contained whole rice, cereals and pulses extruded, and food additives. Of the 94 isolates of B. cereus tested for diarrhoeal enterotoxin production, 28 (29.8%) were positive, and none of these was able to grow at < or = 7 degrees C. The prevalence of B. cereus in dried milk products analysed was fairly high, although it was present in low number. However, as they were composed to a large extent of enterotoxigenic mesophilic strains, the potential risk for the safety of reconstituted products held at improper temperature should not be neglected.

Background and Objective: We studied the characteristics of thromboembolic disease in patients who have suffered a deep venous thrombosis or a pulmonary thromboembolism with the occurrence, two months before, of a neurosurgical process or a stroke., Patients and Method: We analyzed the variables of 57 patients who underwent a neurosurgical operation and those of 86 patients who suffered a stroke. These variables were included in the Computerised Records of Thromboembolic Disease., Results: The average age was of 62.3 (1.9) for neurosurgical and 71.7 (1.5) for stroke patients (p < 0.001). Prophylaxis was previously applied to 31.6% of neurosurgical patients and to 37.2% of patients in the stroke group. Most patients were treated with low molecular weight heparin during the acute phase of the illness. In both groups, 50% of deaths was associated with thromboembolic disease. The proportion of deceases was related to the associated disease and it was significantly higher in the stroke group (18% versus 4.2% in the neurosurgical group, p = 0.028)., Conclusions: In our study, thromboembolic disease was responsible of 50% of deaths. Stroke patients make up a group with a bad prognosis due to their older age and higher frequency of associated pathology; they have a higher risk of death.

The present study aimed at describing the reformulated instrument used in the puerperal woman nursing consultation based on the identified diagnoses classification according to the Taxonomy-I reviewed by NANDA, and the identification of the most frequent nursing diagnoses concerning maternal breastfeeding, based on the reformulated instrument. The diagnoses found as being over 50% were: knowledge deficit (100%); sleep pattern disturbance (75%), altered sexuality patterns (75%), ineffective breastfeeding (66.6%) and impaired physical mobility (66.6%).
